I have a dead spot row on my screen.

Recently bought an 8 GB touch 4G. The sensitivity in that are started dying in the first week itself. Now its completely dead. The second row of dates on the calendar is the row i'm talking about. I can access the dates on the first and the third row. Other apps also have the issue.
Tried restore.
Tried firmware upgrade.
Tried OS upgrade.
Seems to me like a hardware issue.
Would be visiting the iStore in this week.
Any other fixes that I can try pls suggest.

  • I have a Dead Spot in the Tone Curve

I have noticed when using a tablet while working in LR5 I have a dead spot in the upper part of the curve near the highlights portion. I thought it was just a result of my tablet being old and a cheaper model. I tested it with a new Intuos 5 Touch and had the same problem. I go to drag down or up on the upper part of the curve and it doesn't move or hangs up. It happens in all RGB channels also. Has anyone else had this problem or know why this happens? Thanks!

I see some problems with the bottom of the screen but here the problem is with the top of the screen.
I can't use some part of this Applications, I don't know why, I already reset and restore the iPhone some times, and there is no change.

Safari - When the Phone is horizontal I can't select the Add Bookmark or the Back button.

Please let me know how can I fixed or how can I change my iPhone, I'm working in McAllen Texas and the only Apple Store near to here is the one that is in San Antonio, so its like 3 hours driving, what can I do?

If they try and make u pay for a loaner phone, be insistant that they give u one free of charge! I had to send mine in for repairs, but talked them out of the $30 loaner phone fee..only makes sense that we shouldn't have to pay! cheers

  • 'Dead' spot on ipod touch screen - 103 days out of warranty - any ideas?

There is a section of the screen that is 'dead' and it is where the cancel & ok buttons are - this means that I can't play games properly and can't download apps etc as I can't touch ok. I went to the genius bar and they said it was 103 days out of warranty so buy a new one or live with it! Have done the 5 Rs, no joy so it is hardware. Surely it is reasonable to expect that a product doesn't break down in this way after just 18 months? Is there any consumer legislation that can help me get it fixed / replaced? Thanks for any help.

I feel your pain. My 1st generation Touch lost Wi-Fi three weeks after the warranty expired. Apple said, "hardware failure" and told me they'd replace it with the same model for $129 or I could buy a new one. It cost $400 when new! I think it should last longer than a year and three weeks. I purchased the Touch on a credit card that has an extended warranty program. I'm working with the credit card company to replace the failed iPod.

    Hi,
Try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1650#faq5
You can also try restoring the iPhone to rule out software issues. This article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305744 will walk you through restoring the iPhone.
If the issue persists the iPhone will need hardware repair. You can get the iPhone repaired or replaced by making a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or calling AppleCare.

  • Dead spots and WONT TURN ON now after a restart

Why doesn't my iphone work? i restarted it and now it is frozen on the screen and the bar is fully complete for the restart but it donts finish? And i have multiple dead spots! like ***. I hate this, new probolems every week.

Dead spots are generally a carrier issue, however the phone not starting could be any number of issues. Since you have already tried the reset and it is not working, the next step in user troubleshooting is to connect to the computer and do a restore. First restore is from a backup, and if that does not work, then restore as new. If that does not fix the problem, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the hardware examined.

  • IPhone Dead Spot?

    Hi there,
I was just working away on the web, everything completely normal and all of the sudden I had a 1 and a 1/4 inch section just refuse to register my touch. So I rebooted it, restored and all around tried to get the thing to work. I've seen posts of similar things but I wanted some input as to what to do. I work in a secure location outside of the US so I can't go to an Apple Store. Any ideas, input?

    Hi Arthur,
I own and use a iPhone (Serial Nummer Week 28) about 6 months right now. Since three weeks a dead "row" startet to evolve and disappeared partially just right in the middle of the screen(seen from holding your phone upright).
The "dead row" on my touch screen now does not disappear anymore and widend a little bit and I barely cannot touch the "Send"-Button when finishing SMS and cannot use the "settings" button anymore.
Luckily I am on 1.1.3 now, where I can move and push the icons around and put useless Icons in the dead spot, but unfortunatly my iphone is dying from the touchscreen view and it is a pain to use when scrolling through my recent callers list, because it stops at the dead spot and triggers a call.
The reason why this is, is - I believe - I put my iphone most of the time in my backpocket and then sit in my car or on the floor in my house just on the screen. Then I realize - uups there is my iphone, have to put it out of the pocket, I guess it is too late and maybe I have sitten my touchscreen "through right in the middle".
In the meantime I bought a new one, and try to put it in my front pocket...
    best
    Rob

  • Hint wanted: EditCurrentRecord, execute, error: dead view row

Hello, I'm searching for a workaround on a typical insert problem.
I have an HTML page with a <FORM> dynamically created using EditCurrentRecord.render() function. This <FORM> is used to insert a new record.
If the user, after getting an exception (for example because he didn't fill a required field) GOES BACK TO THE PAGE with the form, corrects the problem and click the submit button again, he always get the following error:
JBO-27102: Attempt to access dead view row
Imagine a <FORM> with about 50 fields, many filled up and a required field left blank...
I have extended EditCurrentRecord, so I can "manipulate" something if necessary, but please tell me further detail about this mechanism.
    TIA
    Fabio

Hi, I extended EditCurrentRecord too, I have deployed locally, and I have same problem you indicated.
If for any reason I have to return to the page with the HTML form using browser's back button, first time I post data I get the error JBO-27102: Attempt to access dead view row
This doesn't happen if the page is refreshed.
I think the reason resides in RowKeys, a runtime address generated when preparing to insert a row (look at EditCurrentRecord.render() function for details), address which is stored in a hidden field when generating the form (name "_ROWKEY") and requested later with the execute() function.
Anyway, there is a thing that I don't understand: if I comment the following lines from EditCurrentRecord.execute() function:
    // if (getRowKeys().get(sRowKey) != null)
// row = (Row)getRowKeys().get(sRowKey);...even if next line of code assign a value to the row variable...
    if (row == null)
row = qView.first();...why in this case, even if the row variable is not null, I ALWAYS get the JBO-27102: Attempt to access dead view row error?
I can't understand. Maybe the solution to our problem resides in that clue.

  • Idvd final project has dead spots in sound

I recently created a slideshow in idvd where I imported photos and music. The music was downloaded from itunes. When the project was complete and burned to a Memorex write/re-write DVD, there were dead spots in the sound when I played it back on my TV/DVD player. The songs would just cut out for 3-5 seconds, then keep playing. Does anyone have any advice? Could there be an issue with the DVD I chose to use? Could fingerprints on the DVD account for this problem? Should I be looking at the idvd program as the problem?

    Hello, rkotlow,
    Welcome to the discussions.
First, Memorex disks are notorious for poor performance. You should be using good DVD-R disks such as Verbatim or Maxell. You should also burn at a slower speed, not faster than 4x.
Make a disk image first, using Disk Utility, that way you can check it to see if there are any audio problems:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6733.html
You can then burn your disks from within Disk Utility, selecting the burn speed:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93006
Lastly, many of the audio drop-outs are problems with TV/DVD players, especially with newer ones. I have had problems with a Toshiba, but not with a Sony. You could try your disk in another player, and if it works, then you know your iDVD works fine. I would still burn to a better brand of DVD, though.

  • I have dead strip on my iphone5 screen

I have a strip on my iphone5 screen that is not at all responsive to touch.  I used a sketch app in the picture below to show where the dead spot is.  What can be done to fix this?  I am not aware of anything I did that could cause this (ex. drop the phone)

    Hey there Steevet,
It sounds like you are seeing some anomalous white lines on your screen. I would start by resetting your iPad with this process, and then test the issue again:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve the issue, I would next backup your iPad with this article:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
And restore it from your backup with this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • JBO-27102: Attempt to access dead view row

    Hi all,
we are using the following types of view objects , while activation/passivation ,app is throwing access dead view row exception.
Plese guide us what are the best practice , making application active safe ..
    1) Entity based view objects
    2) Entity based objects + contains Transient attributes
    3) Read only (query based )View Objects
    4) Read only (query based )+ transient attributes
    5) Transient view objects.
And we are passivating all View objects in our application, Please suggest .do we need to passivate all view objects.
is it required to passivate Transient attributes.
If we have few attributes added on entity based VO , how can we passivate them.
Please can you help us with pointers , which VO and which attributes can be passivated .
    Thanks
    Sreeni

In general you should persist all vo and eo you have. Transient attributes should be persisted too add long add they are not calculated.
Eo and vo are passionate automatically by the framework, only transient attributes you have the flag for passivation. If you add other attributes into the implementation class you have to passive them yourself.

  • Friend suggested I use Airport Express to extend my network to fix dead spots, should I just plan on replacing existing Netgear and buy two AXn's?

I have a few dead spots around the house and I am seeking a good solution without pulling ethernet cable.  Reading this community it would seem best if going with Airport Express solution to replace my Netgear and pick up a couple of AXn's. Or perhaps Airport Extreme for base at cable model and AXn for extension?
I had assumed I could just configure one AXn and put it in the dead zone, but reading configuring roaming network indicates you need two. I was planning on adding Apple TV in extended zone does this change anything?

There are a number of possibilities of using multiple AirPorts to extend the wireless range of your network without using wires. Please check out this Apple Support article for more details.
Since your goal is to use wireless connections between routers, you will need two or more AirPort to accomplish this. Unfortunately, extending the Netgear by wireless will not work due to WDS compatibility issues between router manufacturers.
