check the overall trash on the 'dock'.when files are deleted from programmes, they always go to the general 'Trash' as general files and you will need to delete form there as well. if there is still a lot of missing files taking up space try reloading or deleting 'Iphoto' and uploading again.

So in tools/ options/ IM&SMS/ IM Appearance unchecked "show emoticons"and also unchecked "show images and other media previews"restarted Skype and GDI objects now only 164 ( down from 729 )and all other windows are repainting fine and are usable again( my problem was RDP sessions that became unusable, as I work remotely ) To be sure, have rechecked the options and restarted skype and see 700+GDI objects ( goes up from 660 when place call to echo/sound test )and removed them again to get only 164have also rebooted a few times and gone through the whole processof unchecking emoticons, restart, rechecking emoticons, restart to make sure itsnot a fluke. pretty sure this has fixed it for me ( so I now have a working 7.6.0.105 on XP SP3 ),and as your problem "sounds" the same I hope it also works for you. I have just had a system update. Safari 5.1.7, a security update 2012-200 and Remote app update and now when I go into a site with flash it says I do not have adobe flash. I have installed it from the site but still no luck? any help would be much appreciated Cheers Dave

I just checked your account, and see that it's active. Are you trying to sign in via Adobe Reader? If so, please choose Help > Check for Updates in Reader and make sure that it-s up-to-date. The most current version, 11.0.07, should alleviate that sign-in error.

Photo stream pictures can be viewed only on the devices they were sent to. You can't transfer them back to your phone (or anywhere else). If you didn't back up or import the photos to a computer, and they are no longer on your phone, they're gone. -
Did a clean install 10.9.4. on a Apple Stock 1TB Fusion Hard Drive. When I run "diskutil list" via Terminal, everything is wrong. I have "EFI" and "apple Boot Boot OSX" in every dev/disk** Everything is out of place, How can I repair? Im willing too reformat if need be, however thats what I did in the first place. I used to be able to download files from the Harddrive of my Sony Handycam, but now it won't let me import them while going through "log and transfer." I have tried to update my settings, but this doesn't seem to work. Any help would be much appreciated
Hard Drive: The Hard Drive is on my camera (Sony Handycam)
Just needed some info on what is going on with your particular system.
Knowing the exact camera model will also assist us.
If this camera is standard AVCHD you should be able to connect with USB to Mac with FCE open and use Log and Transfer without all the fiddling around converting etc.
What FCE does during ingest is convert files to AIC. (Apple Intermediate Codec)
FCE cannot read the individual files in the BDMV folder, that's why all the converting is required when you use that method.
BTW: regards formatting drives/cards/memory on cameras; it is wise to use the actual device to format rather than a computer. This is a prime cause of read/write goof ups with solid state media. This applies to still or video cameras.
Keeping the COMPLETE card/memory structure in tact is vital for successful transfers.

Can anyone explain what I need to do. I am buying a new computer, need to de-authorise my old computer and then put the library on a new windows computer. I have my library backed up to the cloud for which I pay extra. I am not at all technical so if anyone could give me idiot instructions I would much appreciate it. Finding the instructions from apple assume I know basic,s and that confuses me!

First I'd look in Finder on the "Go" menu up top as "Connect to Server" and see if Rick-Pc was listed in there and remove it from the list. -

Any time Final Cut Express must perform more calculations than your computer can handle in real time, you need to render. Rendering is the process of creating temporary video and audio render files for segments of your sequence that Final Cut Express cannot play in real time. When you render a segment of your sequence, Final Cut Express substitutes a render file for the segment during playback. Render status bars above the ruler in the Timeline indicate which sections can play back in real time and which segments require rendering. To render just click on the sequence menu and select render selection then click both.

I have a dynamic table that calculates the sum of all rows, no issue. I'm struggling with pulling out a subtotal though. I would like to have a check box in each row that flags those rows and gives the sum of their total. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3,000 plus photos in iphoto trash but won't delete
We have around 3,000 odd photos in iphoto trash, but when you click on the tab, it just shows a empty screen, but also shows as said 3,ooo photos, and right clicking on it and trying to empty it does nothing!?
question is are these photos in there or not? if so how do i get rid?

MarieiPhoto_Pref_and_Cache make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that brings the library back do not try deleting all of the photos at one time. iPhoto is notoriously finickey about deleting large numbers of photos at one time. Create a new empty album, Shift+Command+N, and drag the photos into it. Then in the album add a unique keyword to them.
After the keyword has been assigned select all of the photos in the trash bin and drag onto the iPhoto icon to return them back to their Events. Then go to the album and and select about 100 at a time and type Command+Option+Delete to move them to the trash bin and empty the bin.

You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. Then try emptying the trash bin again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Deleting photos from iPhoto trash crashes iPhoto
I've been a bit remiss in deleting photos from iPhoto trash and now when I attempt to delete the 6379 photos in there it crashes iPhoto. I have tried the right click on the trash in the left menu bar and also the "iPhoto" > Empty Trash. How can I get rid of these photos?
This will happen if you try and delete that many shots from iphoto at one go. We generally recommend that you empty the trash in batches of 100 or so at a time.

You'll have to delete more data from the device.
Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device. (Ignore storage on icloud, since that is not part of the equation.)
