One possible reason is have you synced to your computer's iTunes recently ? If so then it might have replaced the books that were on your iPad with those that are on your computer's iTunes library.
You should be able to re-download them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, or via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes and then sync them back to the iPad : re-downloading. If you re-download them directly on your iPad then you may want to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, so that you have a backup copy of them and to see if it stops them disappearing from the iPad again when you sync (assuming that was the reason why they disappeard).

IPhoto was open, but "unexpectedly quit". When I opened it again a couple days later, my most recent photo uploads (for the past month or so) were missing, with dated Events folders saying "no photos". 1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.

I have Calendar v 7.0 and Entourage 12.3.6 2008 on OS X 10.9.2. I cannot import Entourage events into Calendar - this was never an issue with iCal. Whats happened and how can I import details into Calendar or do I need iCal back?

iOS 5 comes with the Messaging app. You can text with that. It is not called iChat, it is called Messages

I downloaded Safari 5.1 onto Mac OS 10.6.8 some time ago. Yesterday the back/forward arrows next to the url window changed to a +, which adds the current url as a bookmark. I want the arrows back. What happened, and how can I fix this? Thanks. kammro

Last night the mail application from Apple lost all my old emails, which were stored in mailboxes, neatly sorted by category. What happened and how do I find them?
Details: I shut down mail to run errands outside my office. My late model MacBook Pro was on "sleep". When I returned, I opened the application, and (RATS!) all the mailboxes were missing. They just evaporated.
Operating system: 10.7.2 - all software updates installed and current as of 24 hours ago (12-30-11, 6 AM EST).
ln the mail program, the trash folder is OK and the sent folder is OK.
Yesterday, I did no maintenance on my mail folders.

That was most likely the result of some kind of corruption, as I've already said, not a bug in Mail. Have you repaired the hard drive with Disk Utility recently? That wouldn't be a bad idea.
2 - at random times, mail (or the server) says that my password is incorrect and I must reenter (fix: usually I can quit mail, restart, and the connection is restored without reentering my password)
This is a known issue, where a failure to respond promptly on the server's end mimics what happens when the password is rejected. There's no need to quit Mail, just cancel when asked to enter the password, take the account back online and try again.
3 - mail seems to resort the mail in my mailboxes at random time. Several times a day, I must reset the sort to (a) by date; (b) by desending
Never seen that before. That points more to some kind of possible corruption in your Mail data or preference files. -

I have an iPhone 4s and I connnected my phone to my laptop, which is a macbook pro. This is the second iPhone 4s I have had. The first one had a problem and I had to replace it which is the one I have now. When I connected my phone to the laptop, my phone shut down and when it turned back on, all my information from the first 4s phone went to the phone I have now. All the text messages from the old one, photos, apps, etc. Now my information like messages, photos, apps, etc from the current phone is gone, and I need them. What can I do? How can I get that information back?
Is the MacBook the computer you have synced with in the past? If not you can use the computer that you have synced with to restore your apps. Are you sure you are using the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the Apps?

I have lost all my headings, like bookmarks, facebook etc. What happened and how do I get them back?
At the top of the screen it might say bookmarks, I would click on that and book marks would all be listed. I have lost the top part of my home page with all the things i need like my bank website etc.
I have read a lot of suggestions concerning my problem, the thing is I don't have the option of Re-downloading and in the file menu when I get my library options I don't even have the option of backing up my movie, music, apps, and I don'tt have the Purchased option under my quick links for some unknown reason. Open itunes store Click "Purchased" under "Quick Links", simply does not work for me. I certainly would like to contact itunes support who would kindly granted me a one time re-download of my purchased music. But then don't answer my cry for help, so again I am stuck with nothing after I bought over 1000.00 dollars worth of movies, music, apps and I don' t have acces to any of it. The page will open up but where the scene I am suppose to watch on YouTube or the area where the game is suppose to be played....this warning sign in black and yellow strips with netblockade written across it appears and I can not go forward since it is blocked!!!! Go to image>mode and note the color mode (rgb, bitmap, etc) and bit depth of your photo. For the most possible use of PSE it should be RGB 8 bit.

I was playing an app on my iPod and I got up to go to the restroom and I decide to put the iPod in my pocket then as I legit go I heard a clack on the ground and found my iPod on the floor there was no physical damage to the screen face, no scratches, chips, or cracks.
I then try to wake up my iPod and it white screened but does not shutdown, just a constant white screen. I tried to hard reset it and it continued to white screen when it restarted. What happened to it?Only if it is a loose connection
