I could not download the upgrade to the mountain lion. my updates were taking an enormous amount of time for other programs. Also, I found out the hard way that my time capsule saved files on the macbook Snow Leopard, which still works fine after 6 years of use, is locked in that external drive and I cannot transfer the items except one by one or by folders on that computer to a DVD or to a flash drive, to mport to this new computer. Because the systems are not the same, I can't access the files automatically. I fear I will have further problems with the mountain lion vs. lion in seeing those files. What can I do? What should I do? I am afraid to designate an external hard drive I purchased with the new laptop for the time capsule because then it won't work with any other computer. I read of terrible incompatibility issues and crashes and things not working right once Mountain Lion was installed and now I am terrified they will happen to me. I just wanted the computer to be as easy to use as all the other macs I have and have had and now it is more like a horribly complicated and difficult Microsoft IBM compatible PC. I hate this. Perhaps Apple wanted to appeal to new Apple users and tried to make them comfortable while disregarding the comfort of loyal Apple users? It's a sell-out. Meanwhile, I have to get senior tech people because the kids who try to answer my questions much of the time don't interpret what i am telling them and it takes a pro. Perhaps the kids can answer what I should do in preferenced to scroll the screen, since the scroll indicators disappear and I can't see them and have to resort to using the arrows on the keyboard, which is not the way I like to work. Please advise me about all of these things!

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate and have the same problem. My hard drive crashed, installed a new one and then reinstalled CS5 extended. Installation went fine, but can no longer open my camera RAW files from Photoshop (camera is a Canon EOS T2i. The message also tells me I am not eligible for the update. I am... and I cannot open my files and I could before. I can find nowhere to contact Adobe to tell me how to proceed. My daughter is all a registered user of the same product and she had no problems upgrading... we purchased ours each at the same time. I do know the difference is that I had to reinstall and she did not. If that means anything.

I have photoshop CS5 Extended but my motherboard flashed over so I have now purchased a new computer and of course wish to download another copy, I have my Serial No from my account and I have downloaded a new copy of the program, the problem comes when I try to install it as I cannot seem to find an unzip program that will do it as they are asking for file names etc which of course I don't have until I unpack it !! can anybody please advise what program will unzip this automatically bearing in mind there are two files with the download. Or is there a way that I can download without having to unzip?

I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

Are you sure the message isn't saying that the maximum number of accounts have already been created? When you get this message you will not be able to create another account on that device. Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account using a different iOS device or Mac, if you have one.

All media and apps on the device should already be in iTunes on the computer.
If you have forgotten the restrictions passcode, the ONLY option is to restore as new.
Then sync back any media, apps, contacts, etc back to the device.
You can not restore from backup as the restrictions passcode is included in the backup.

For that Nikon model you need ACR 8.3 that means CS6 or CC. Or you can download the DNG converter convert your Nikon RAW files to Adobe RAW files. And then process the Adobe RAW files with CS5 ACR version 6.7

Upgrade from LR2 to LR4 - Have Photoshop CS5 Extended - LR adjustments now lost with RAW files

I have:
Windows 7 64bit
Lots of ram
Lots of disk space
Lots of everything
I have CS5 Photoshop and LR2 - and all works perfectly. I import my RAW files from my Canon 5d2 - and I can edit and adjust - then if I need to export to PS to make further adjustments before saving back to LR. Nice and easy like it should be.
I've installed LR4 as an upgrade to LR2.
Now when I edit my files in LR - and then want to tweak a bit more in PS - when I 'edit in> photoshop' I get my original file - not my edited file, which is very frustrating.
I want to be able to operate like LR2 - make some edits - then off to PS - then back before any final edits,
Why has it changed? And when will we get it back to editing the file with the adjustments built in?

I've already installed ACR 6.7 - and that's helped a little - and I now get the edited file - but not the whole edited file..
So if I crop - that edit carries over..
If I adjust exposutre - that edit carries over...
If I change one of the 'new' settings like 'blacks' - that doesn't carry over...

CS5 Bridge crashes when trying to create a new subdirectory

Bridge version 4.*.*, Windows 8.
Was working perfectly for months then tonight decided to crash when I try to create a new subdirectory.
When I try to create the subdirectory it closes and I get a window telling me Windows is trying to find a solution.
What is the issue have how do I get a remedy.
I thought OK, the application got corrupted, so I will download and install a new version of bridge.
That seems to not be possible as there is no Bridge for CS5 download on the download menu.
What is the solution? Thanks.

I'm trying to create space on my ipad by moving photos to icloud

I Spent hours yesterday backing up everything to icloud. Today I'm learning about how to use icloud. I am trying to view my photos on icloud but I need an icloud photo app. Now here's my problem. I can't download the app because I have no space. How do I know if my photos have gone into icloud? I really don't want to lose my pictures. If they have gone to icloud would it automatically free up space on my ipad?

To the best of my knowledge, POP does not support the use of folders on the mail server. Those are only availble in IMAP or Microsoft Exchange accounts. Since the Mail app in iOS doesn't support creation of folders locally, there's no way to do this for your POP account that I know of.

Why won't my new Airport Extreme recognize my USB external hard drive. I put a USB port on the base station, and the system recognizes my printer. When I click on disks - it lists my printer, and when I click on Printers it lists my printer. What do I need to do to get it to recognize the external drive? BTW, the MacBook recognizes it, no problem. I have erased it and reformatted it. I am running the new Lion OS. Any help is appreciated.
