I have to retype this??? Ok, here goes, I waited fro 4 hours for the AI download. Then a message came saying the systems preceives a restart coming (wth?) and I should Quit. So I did.
Now how do I do the install without having to re-download.
Please don't tell me I have to re-download as that would be a major design flaw.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I'm still not fully convinced that the system is asking for a previously entered passcode, rather than to set it up. If the passcode was set up before, your mother might not remember what the passcode was, but wouldn't she remember that she did set up something? What happens if she clicks on the Cancel button/word?
After each iOS upgrade you do have to re-enter the passcode. That's why you had to enter it.
My sympathies are with you. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to troubleshoot problems remotely, especially with someone who's not familiar with the proper terminology. Is it possible and reasonable for your mother to go to the Apple Genius alone?
IF she did indeed set up a password and can't remember it, there's a procedure that will reset the iPhone, but it's not pretty in terms of preserving data on the iPhone if it hadn't been backed up to iTunes or iCloud. These links might be of assistance:

I have purchased an item from within the app PocketBible on my iPad. However when I try to download it I am asked for my app User Name and Password and then my Apple ID and password. I give both of these. I then get a message which says Regrant failure - Please log in with the same user that has bought the app. That is then followed by Pocket Bible Alert - cannot connect to iTunes Store.
Anybody got any ideas, both what the 1st alert means and how I get round the problem please.I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

have an ipod and then got the wife an iphone4. all passwords are screwed up. she can not access playstore cuz she doesn't have password. i can not get find any help on how to get or update a password for the ipod. and then get her a separate password for her iphone. we need to save her photos, music, etc to ? icloud and the phone stuff to verizon cloud? so when she gets her new Iphone6 she can have all her "stuff" back on the new phone. hope this makes sense. please offer suggestions here or at [email protected] thanks for your help!
Oh no! I'm sorry to see there's a lot of confusion here and data shared, x-rayDon. We can definitely work to fix. This happens when two devices share the same Apple ID, so she will need to reset hers. She can do so by assessing this link Apple - My Apple ID. You will need to decide who will keep the account if want separate Apple IDs since purchases cannot be shared unless you do Family Sharing.

I have CC for work and my PC to do work at home. At home I switched from PC to Mac this weekend. I want to redownload my apps for the iMac but it's telling my I'm using a 30 day free trial. I need to discontinue the PC apps and download to the new computer.
YOu need to sign out of the PC thru the CC manager and then sign in on the Mac.

The Sim card that you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supprotedunder the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. this is not a hardware issue with the iphone. please insert another sim card from a supported carrier or request that this iphone be unlocked by your carrier.please contact apple for more information.
I have similar message but for me the Verizon guys said they unlocked it and when I actually connected to iTunes using Verizon sim card and then did the restore as new iphone then everything worked well and at the end i saw the message "Congrats, your iphone is now unlocked" and then I did the set up as new iphone for my kid.
Once new apple ID was set up, then I removed the verizon SIM and then inserted prepaid t-mobile sim card and after the phone booted up then I got the same message like above...."not supported"
What do i do now? I think the phone is unlocked right?
Also do I need to insert Verizon SIM card and do restore as NEW and this time do not set up the iphone but change the SIM card and then set up or ?

but this is only for the songs downloaded on my phone. I can't play any songs on my phone, only on the original itunes library. Whats going on??
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcuded synced media like apps and music. Thes those iTunes are not restored to the iPod unless they are in the iTunes library.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Hello, I have been waiting almost 24 hours for my SIM to be activated. When I went in store, they said that as I am an existing customer it should only take a few hours to swap my number over to my new sim card. I have been on the website to try and activate it but it says it sends a text to your old sim. The screen on my old phone is completely unresponsive and therefore I am unable to do anything on it, including reading my texts. Should I leave it til after the 24 hour deadline before calling customer services? I am at work until 9pm this evening and all day tomorrow so am worried I will not get this resolved until Thursday and I use my phone for work so need it working. I also have to travel a long distance to get there and am worried about there being a problem and not having any way of contacting anyone without my phone. Help

I have a Mac leopard. Did a recent recommended update. When it finished,I restarted then a window came up to enter Master Password. I don't know what it is and when I try to enter one, the window shakes so I am unable to use computer at all.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
