I lost the power supply cable of my AirPort Extreme.
I need a power supply cord for my AirPort Extreme.
If it is the tall one, it is standard figure 8 power cable available in any store with electrical items. But not in white.. they are black and grey and even brown but never white. Also the Apple ones are top quality.
If it is the flat one you are talking about the whole power supply. Any 12v 2A or greater with standard 2.5mm dc adapter will work fine.

Why my hp 625 notebook needs the power supply cable to switch on ?
i had windows 7 and now vista ....(don t ask)... .. although i have fully charged battery?
The battery can register as charged but not actually put out enough juice to boot the machine. The only way to really test it is to get another known good battery. I assume this is the original battery and is at least a couple years old?

Trouble replacing the power supply for a 20" imac g5
I have purchased a new power supply and going through the replacement instructions but I cannot get the cable to disconnect. In the instructions it says
4. Disconnect the power supply cable by pressing the connector release tab and using a
wide, flat blade screwdriver to pry apart the connector.
5. With your fingers, pry the cable off the connector.
But the parts simply will not come apart and the plastic is just getting all mangled and making it more difficult. Is there some sort of trick to this?Don't keep forcing anything or you'll end up having to replace those cables/connectors.
This is what I might try, however, I have to say I have never had to do this and maybe someone who has will have a better idea: You might try dribbling an extremely tiny amount of silicone spray downwards into the connector. Don't allow it to get on the outside of the connector where you need to grip it. And don't spray the silicone directly; first accumulate a little in a small container (one of those small cough syrup measuring cups would do), then try to get some on something that will hold only one or two drops and feed it in from there. I don't think it will reduce the conductivity of the contacts, but try to keep it only on the plastic, if possible. Shake the can of silicone spray well before using.
You might also try using a small piece of a non-slide rubber mesh pad, the kind used under rugs, to help grip the connector better. And jiggle it a little from side to side while pulling it out. -
I am new to the Macbook community. I own this Macbook since 10/2012.
My Macbook Pro 15 with Retina Display suddenly totally stopped responding. No display, no activity on keyboard. When I connect power supply cable, the Mac makes a noise as if it is starting up, but this lasts a second and this sound comes and goes the whole time the power cable is connected.
Any advice?

I have a macbook air (mid 2012) and a thunderbolt display (27'').
Do I absolutely need to connect the power supply together with the thunderbolt cable ?
I found that the screen won't wake up if only the thunderbolt connection is plugged. Is this normal ?I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. This is the full question since I couldn't get it all in the box.
I have some complex questions regarding an iMac, a Time-Machine backup, and iTunes on an iPod.
I live about halfway up an extinct volcano about 12 miles north of San Jose Costa Rica. Some months ago, we had a thunderstorm and as I reached to unplug my computers lightening struck about 50 meters from my house. I had an iMac with a 3-Tb external backup drive, a PC laptop and a laser printer on the same power strip. There was a definite surge and the light brighten and then power was lost for a few minutes.
When power was restored, the PC and the laser printer seemed to work fine but the iMac was cold.
First questions: Is is possible that the power supply was fried and not other essential parts? Would it be worthwhile to replace the power supply? Can I, with limited experience and tools do it or need I take it to a technician? My concern is that if the hard-drive is good, there is personal information on it that I don't want to risk.
Next question: Do I need to replace the hard-drive before taking it for service? How hard is that, can I do it? I have seen videos of the drive replacement on-line.
Those are my iMac questions, now the questions about backup restoration.
If there is a saving grace with this it is that the Time-Machine backup seems fine although I have only accessed the data through Finder. I replaced the iMac with a Macbook Air with significantly less mass storage and I can't just move files to the Macbook. My problem is that I have an iTunes library of some 10,000 songs on the backup and until recently on a 160 Gb iPod which was old and it crashed. I have replaced the iPod but have not tried to restore the iTunes library to it because of my confusion about how to do that. Quite possible, but working on iMacs is not easy, & PSU might be prohibitive.
Hopefully the Drive might have info on it, but even pulling that out can be a chore.
If you don't know the model, find the Serial# & use it on one of these sites, but don't post the Serial# here...

I'd get an external drive & restore the whole works to it, then boot from the External drive. -
Mac Pro won't start up. What's the best way to check the power supply?
Hello. I'm having a severe problem with my 2007 Mac Pro. The symptoms are very easy to describe. The computer apparently shut itself off overnight, and when I press the power button to turn it on, absolutely nothing happens. No lights, no chime, no signs of any power whatsoever in the computer. I have never had major problems with the computer before. (Although I had recently noticed some minor skipping problems with streaming videos and Firefox had started hanging occasionally.)
So far, I have checked the power cable and the power outlet. I have also reset the SMC (holding in the Power button for 5 seconds with the unit unplugged). I am unable to see any light in the diagnostic LEDs (including LED 1) when I press the DIAG_LED button on the logic board.
While I welcome other suggestions, all I can figure is that this is either a power supply problem or a major logic board failure, but I don't know which. I have a multimeter and would like to test very directly if the power supply is the problem, because they are very expensive and obviously I do not want to order a replacement supply if it would not fix the computer. Does anyone know what the best way to test the supply directly is? What pins on what cable should I test, and what voltage should I look for?
Also: No the computer is not under any warranty. If at all possible, I would like to fix this myself. Thanks for any help you can give.Well, I may have found the answer to my question as to why replacing the fuse dows not seem to be encouraged. I cut out the failed fuse (fast fuse, ceramic, 16 Amp 250V), and replaced it with another that was as close to it in spec as I could find (15 A instead of 16). Then I put the supply back in the case.
When I tried to plug it in, I got an immediate spark, followed by an acrid smell from the power supply. Later inspection revealed that the new fuse blew, as did another component nearby (not sure what it was) where I could see blackening and the smell was concentrated. At this point, I would consider myself lucky if the power supply didn't take anything else on the computer out with it.
Lesson learned; will try a new power supply and go from there. -
Use SNMP to monitor the power supply status of stacked switches
Does anybody know how to use SNMP to monitor the status of the internal power supplies of a group of stacked Cisco 3750 switches?
The switch stack has three 3750-48PS-E switches inter-connected by Cisco StackWise cable. IOS ver 12.1(19)EAlc. A single IP address is used to identify the switch stack. Every time I poll the OID chassisPs1Status (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.4.0 in CISCO-STACK-MIB), I only got the status for the Master switch of the switch stack. Is there any way to poll the power supply status of other switches in the switch stack?

Mmkay now... I just installed some nifty lights and a window on my case, I don't think that is the problem though. Whenever I go to putting in the 20 pin ATX power supply thingee, nothing happens to the mainboard, nothing lights up... sometimes when I put in the cable different ways, or with my hand further away from the connecter, the lights get a faint glow, the fans turn on, but the hard drives don't. This has happened 3 times to me, and I don't know what the problem is.... the first time it happened I thought my power supply was fried so I ran out and bought a PSU tester, all was fine so I knew it had to be the mainboard. It wasnt. Some of the little doodahs inside the connecter from the power supply werent pushed in (or is it out?) far enough, aka some wires were just slipping out from the connector. The second time, I went to take apart the computer to dust it and the same thing happened.
This time, is the first time I had the lights and the window on the case, so when I plug in the PSU tester to the power supply, everything lights up and turns on (except the mainboard which isnt plugged in). So then I plug it into the mainboard's connecter, it doesnt turn on. I have been fiddling with it for 20 hours and even used a dremel to shave off some of the plastic on the PSU's connecter, so the wires in the mainboard would hit the ones on the connecter. They didn't.
Now I am asking you, if you can understand what I just said ( :D ), what is wrong with my computer.
I'll take some pictures and show you what is happening...I do not think it is the connector to the MB, the PSU or the Mobo. I think you somewhere have a short-circuit. It might be that it is in a place so that it only occurs when you have "fiddled" with the innards of your case.
Try and search for anything that might be causing a short circuit.
Remember that some lights (dont know correct english word for the type here) might in some situation be considered a short circuit (and might cause your PSU not to power up). -
No power supply cable for second hard drive
Hard drive in PC is crashing mechanically. Want to ghost a second hard drive before first drive crashes completely. Bought duplicate of existing hard drive, but there is no power supply cable/connector for it. Have SATA plug, but cannot power up second hard drive. What do I do?

If I understand your problem correctly, this is the connector that you need. It converts a single SATA power cable to two connectors. This allows you to connect two drives with on cable. There are many other brands available on Newegg. This is just one example.

E30 power supply/cables and upgrading video card.
I'm thinking of buying a decent gaming card, but I can't seem to find any power cables inside my system. The video card I'm looking at has a six pin connector on it. Also, just in case I need to upgrade the power supply, is the power supply unit standard ATX?

the E30 doesn't come with a PCI power connector due to it only being qualified to run the quadro NVS, 400, 600, and 2000/2000D workstation graphics cards. you would need a different PSU entirely. due to warranty and support reasons we can't recommend aftermarket PSUs in this system.
besides, depending on the GPU you're considering, the E30 might not have sufficient airflow to support it. these are workstations after all and not gaming systems.
similar advice was given to another E30 owner in this thread. i'm not sure what makes the E30 such a compelling gaming platform but to each their own.

I hear sometimes an anoying buzz noise from the power supply. It doesn't always starts when I boot the computer but after 10-20 minutes most of times it starts. I thought that maybe its a low power from my ups wich is 500VA. I conncecet the mac's AC cable directly to an ac outlet and still the noise exists. Has anyone passed any simiral problem.

My UPS with Mac Pro, ACD 23" along with modem and router hits 400W and I have APC RS1500VS (which I put in my sig for a reason) and once it gets to 50%+
If all you have is stock RAM and hard drive... get your system off its starvation diet.
I'm just telling you what I know and read and that you can confirm for yourself. Am I sure?
Use your small UPS for home entertainment equipment, monitor and modem and such, not for Mac Pro. -
Power supply cable melting before my eyes
I finally joined the famed club of the dead power supply owners.
I've had several issues lately with my macbook (while never had any although owner of the very first release of it), mainly with freezing windows, slow reaction time etc.
running Activity Viewer for the past couple days, I could spot mdmimport (Spotlight index daemon) acting quite berserk.
taking up to 97% of my CPU (today it even said it took 128%???).
anyway, I thought it was a fragmented hard drive, giving a hard time to index content, but the weird thing is that I regularly use diskwarrior to adjust the content disposition.
a very weird behavior was that the laptop seemed to start hogging the CPU only on-idle (doesn't that sound a bit odd?).
while the screen was black (after the screensaver timed out) the CPU fan was going berserk, and the power supply was sure close to melting point.
I was saying I kept the Spotlight daemon under control, and noticed that it kept taking all the CPU time.
the curious bit: what the **** are you indexing if maybe only 5 files have changed since yesterday and maybe couple dozens email?
today we got to the boiling point:
I work at some friends' office, go back home, use my laptop on battery.
the battery reaches 3% and I plug the power supply in.
no magsafe light going on, smell, the cable melting before my eyes.
luckily I had some friends with a spare power supply, but had to get to the root of it.
I decided to turn off indexing. ran
%sudo mdutil -i off /
the indexing of the main drive stops.
I've been using my tiger for a few hours already with no visible sign of fatigue, delays, cpu stress.
the cpu fan runs regularly but quite (consider it's a hot weather and my home is at 27ºC).
oh, if you're any curious, do you want to know when all this started?

anyone seeing any light in this?I am convinced that the melting of the magsafe adapter in 99% of the cases is caused by improperly removing your power cord to many times. Don't pull!

In the upper expansion bay of the G3 DT case the power supply has some cables coming out of it. There are the larger 4-pin sockets for hooking up hard disks. Then there's a smaller 4-pin connector. Does anyone know what that smaller 4-pin connector is for? Could it be used for an extra case fan or blower?
I also believe the small 4-pin connector is for powering a Zip drive.
If you are looking for a power connection for an extra fan or blower, most come with a standard 4-pin connector for convenience. If you are out of 4-pin connector power out plugs in your Beige, simply buy a 1 into 2 plug converter. They are available in places like CompUSA, Rat Shack, and others. Also available on line.
You are dealing with low voltage DC power, so there isn't a problem in splitting the supply from one into two.
