Yes, I agree with Kappy, here's a problem with your RAM. It happened to a friend's MacBook after he spilt wine on it. Fortunately the splillage on reached the RAM!

Does iTunes have to check all my music for match every time I open iTunes even when nothing has changed in the music folder? This is just one problem I have with iTunes and match. Every time I open iTunes, the first thing happening is iTunes checking my music and sending the information to Apple and then waiting for Apple to send back information about match. There is a third step that I have never seen iTunes actually reach as it always crashes before finishing this ritual with my music and match. Since I paid for match I can no longer use iTunes to listen to any of my music. I like having match function on my iPhone because even 128 GB is not enough space to keep a music library and everything else needed on the iPhone. But it's been a disaster with iTunes on my Windows 7 PC. I updated iTunes recently and the same problem continues. I can't find any clear description of how match works but it seems if there has been no change to the music folder then the tedious and buggy process of checking all music for match and sending data back and forth to Apple every time iTunes is used should not be necessary. Is there possibly something I have to change settings for to help iTunes start without so much to do?
If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

There is something on your iPhone (a music file, iBook, document or video) that belongs to another Apple ID. Only your wife would know how that file arrived there. Your iPhone is asking for the correct Apple ID for all of the files that are resident on the iPhone.

You may need to ask HP. I had the same issue with a networked (via ethernet) home HP multi-function. Sometimes the only way to get it to scan was to completely disconnect it from the network and connect it to only one Mac with a USB cable. Even that did not alwatys work.
Eventually, Apple started pushing out HP printer updates via Software Update. One of those finally made that error message to go away.
So run Software Update and see it there are new drivers that Apple made avaialble. -
when I'm on an app, on iso7.1 it will now show the "iPad/iphone" sign - the time - and the battery whilst running in an app. does anyone know how to get rid of that as its effecting the games i play.
If you can hide the status bar, it would be an option inside the app. I have one or two apps where that is an option but in most apps it is not.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with iCloud support directly? All iCloud support roads lead to CPU tech support. My stolen MBP finally came online and gave a location but I didn't check my email for a couple days, was sick, and iCloud only displays location map for 24 hours. I got my Mac late 2014
Yosemite, 13-inch, Retina
120 GB, 8 GB RAM
This would be the second time that I'm 'uninstalling' Spotify. The first time was a few months back, when it wouldn't play music and it said something like it's not available in my country (?! which is another issue altogether 'cause my sister can totally use it here). So I uninstalled it and I thought it was gone. Just last week, however, I installed it again because I realised it was working perfectly fine for some people so I wanted to try, and it still says not available on the website so I uninstalled it again. (Which may or may not just be a fault in my part because I didn't really look too closely.)Anyway, while trying to fix something on my Mac this morning, I found out that I somehow had Spotify running in my login items. And this was weirding me out because I knew it was already deleted! Completely! Here is a screenshot just to show you where it used to be and what I mean. I only thought of taking a screenshot after deleting all the Spotify items hehe (ALL, or so I thought! --wait for it--). Sorry, but you get the idea.
This time, I remembered that you don't completely erase a program by the usual way of dragging the icon to the Trash etc etc (that's what I've been doing until just last week) and that you should go to the Library and erase even the preferences files or something. So I did this to Spotify and suddenly there's this tiny file that won't go away that says that it's in use even though I know perfectly as far as my knowledge goes that it is not being freakin' used as of the moment.
And it just bugs me that I can't completely empty my trash because of this one sneaky little file that wasn't even aware had been running on my computer I know this isn't the saddest, most tragic Mac dilemma out there and, clearly, many people have had it worse, but please help meThat file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Why does my sound only come on sometimes when i get to the log in screen for World of Warcraft?

All I did was play the latest content for World of Warcraft (Patch 4.3). I hit the mute button and it turned red. I hit "exit" and "exit now" after i was done playing and it took a long time to exit. After it was back to the very familiar screen with all the icons the sound was gone. The mute button was blue after a restart, then it started saying i didn't have a sound card when i tried looking for it. The next day i turn on my laptop and and the mute button is red when it's starting up. After it was done I unmute it and sound worked fine, but for a while. After that the sound only comes back on a few rare occasions when i get to the login screen of world of warcraft. Then after a while of walking around doing nothing, the sound is gone again, but the mixer is still there (the mixer disappears after i restart). It also doesn't let me successfully uninstall the sound driver. I restart and go to reinstall the driver on the website, but during the download it says that it's already installed and if i want to overwrite, when i hit "yes to all" the lap top beeps LOUDLY, and says the installation failed because it didn't find the device. What's going on?The boot ROM is static unless Apple issues a firmware update. I just checked and they never released any such updates for the eMac. Without a firmware update available, I know of no way to overwrite the current version.
What did the serial number check show? Don;t post your serial number, just whether it fell within one of those ranges.
The logic board issue was specifically bad capacitors. Look at some of the pic posted here:

Open your RAM door on the case bottom and look inside. The third picture in the web site is the view with that door open. You can see only two of several possible bad caps through the RAM door but, if those two are leaking brown goo like those in the image, I think you will have found your problem.
I just realized you are in Tacoma. That makes the closing of the repair place I mentioned all the more sad, as your shipping costs to Eugene OR would be much less than for an eMac owner living several states away. Heck, you could have driven it to Eugene!
Really, I'm not in the habit of preaching 'gloom and doom' but, in your case, we need to deal with the logic board issue first to be able to provide you with worthwhile help should your computer not have the "bad cap" problem. If bad caps are the problem, there is not much we can offer other than to refer you to Google to search for self-repair instructions, or to Apple Customer Relations (1-800-767-2775) to consult regarding a Repair Extension Program that was apparently shut off too early. -
My Mac Book Pro changes the saved home page each time I open Safari. I am also getting random tabs opening with various "cleaning up" my computer junk.
How do I get rid of this? I tried some of the fixes listed but they don't seem to work or I am doing something wrong.

WendiYou may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked. -
I have a 16GB iPod touch that suddenly stopped connecting to the internet last night. Everytime I try to get mail, or access anything with Safari I get a message saying that it can't connect to the server. Also I've plugged it in to my home computer but it won't connect to iTunes either. I haven't updated to iOS8 yet as I didn't have enough space for it and I had planned on deleting all my music files, updating the software and putting whatever music I could fit back on to the device afterward, but now I'm hesitant to do that as I have no way to get any of the files back onto the device. Could this be because I haven't updated to iOS8 yet? I've been having other problems such as apps crashing unexpectedly lately as well, for example my music shuts off randomly and apps such as Twitter and Tumblr and a few others crash on launch. I'm definitely not a genius when it comes to technology by any means, so I have no idea what's causing this problem or how to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
