I need to read a reference inside of a data object

Hi Developers,
I need to read some data that is nested deep inside a method. My situation looks like this:

     IREF_MDO_DATA       Type    Reference

My question is how do i access OREF_MDO_HANDLER and then access STR_DOF_FILTER_VALS ?
Please let me know if you need more information? I will do my best to explain better?

Hi Adrian,
I forgot to mention that the second Reference Variable (OREF_MDO_HANDLER) is a TYPE REF TO. I believe this is my problem. I can not use the statement GET REFERENCE OF IREF_MDO_DATA-> OREF_MDO_HANDLER. because OREF_MDO_HANDLER is a TYPE REF TO. Is there way i can access the reference TYPE REF TO?

I have a peculiar condition where I need to read attribute value of a master data object's master data.
Requisition (ZREQUI) is linked to Candidacy (ZCDCY) by object called Recquisition.
Candidacy (ZCDCY) is linked to Candidacy Activity (0CDCY_ACT) by object called Candidacy.
I want to populate attribute called due date in ZREQUI by reading lowest value of due date value of 0CDCY_ACT. There can be multiple hits.
If I can get the code to do this, I would really appreciate it.

Here is the outline of the code ,as per my understanding..chk if it can help u
In start routine write a select statement to pick all the data from 0cdcy_act.
select 0CDcY_ACT ZCDCY DuE_DATE from /BiC/P0CDCY_ACT
into table itab1
for all entries in source_package
where ZCDCY = source_package-ZCDCY.
as you need the lowest due date, sort the iTAB1
sort itab1 by due_date ZCDCY. (default is acending order)
In the field routine of your due date
Read table itab1tnto wa_itab1 where
ZCDCy = source_fields -ZcDcY.
now duedate = wa_itab1-duedate.

Need help about Financials Operating Unit Level Setup data object transforming

Hi All,
We met some issues while using iSetup to create new OU from existing one via 'Financials Operating Unit Level Setup’ template and need your help.
We can perform Extracting successfully, but when we’re tring to proceed Transform, it seems iSetup can’t meet our expectation.
Firstly, after succesful creation of the Transform for 'Financials Operating Unit Level Setup’.
We clicked the transform icon and it led us to the Details page.
However, we can’t search out any result on that page, is it a bug?
If we didn’t performed ‘Transform All’, then there’s no row shows on Transform Details page so we can't make any transform, as below:
But after performing a ‘Transform All’ task, revisite the Details page and unfreeze, Operating Units and Inventory Organizations became transformable, as shown in below screenshots.
Secondly, we found the transformable data objects are so limited, even the whole Payable Options and Finacial Options doesn’t support, as well as the Operating Unit short code.
Is there any documents indicating which data objects are transform supported? Or if there’s any sql query for it?
Will be very appreciated if anyone can help.

According to your description, my understanding is that machines failed to ping the server name, and successfully to ping its IP address.
First check to see if DNS related port 53 is opened on the DC, or disable any anti-various software temporally, then ping the DC’s
FQDN and confirm that if the name would be resolved.

What does unknown caller context mean? and how does it cause local references to remain allocated in reference table although the native function returns?

how does it cause local references to remain allocated in reference table although the native function returns?Because it doesn't return to the JVM where it gets deallocated, it returns to the unknown caller context, i.e. some other piece of native code in your JNI layer. So the references remain until the unknown caller context returns to the JVM.

U have to use generic extratctor MDMGX to extract reference data(customizing data) from R/3.
Prerequisite:
MDMGX to be installed.
Procedure to use it.
A)Setup Execution.
1) Define Object type as per ur requirement (drop down list standard objects are provided like customer,vendor,products etc.).
2)Define Repository and ftp server name.
3)Upload ports and check table.
4)Maintain ports and check table.
B)Execute Generation and Extraction.
1)Generate XSD.
2) Starrt Execution.
For each check table u have to create a separate port in MDM Repository.
zreport is a older version ,it can be but neednot contain latest updates in check table .

Do I need to close ActiveX references?

Hi,
I am developing a library of VIs that use ActiveX to control APWin (for Audio Precision System Two) with LabVIEW where both are running on the same PC and I am wondering if I need to close ActiveX refnums when I'm finished along a particular heirarchy level. The context help says that LV closes references when they're no longer needed but is it bad practice to leave them open? Can not closing refnums potentially cause problems? See attached picture for an example.

You should generally close any refnum. LabVIEW 7 does have improvements
to its own refnums (App and VI refnums, Control refnums) which does not
require to close them anymore but doing so will definitly not hurt.
For Active X refnums, in the best case they just use up memory until you
close the entire application or the LabVIEW development system. In the
worst case the system can crash when you close the executable or LabVIEW
due to the Active X component stumbling over left open object references

Need to read Unicode in a file

Hi,
My need to read Unicode from a file (on a Windows box) is due to the fact my software is used in different countries and on different keyboard naturally. All the users are not computer literate but, like me, they are all lazy and want to put their username and password in a config file my application reads. If their username or password contain Unicode characters I have a problem reading.
They are simple users that I would like to advise them to open the config file using Windows Notepad, then type in their username and password, and save the file as Unicode. Notepad has four ways to save a file, ANSI, Unicode, Unicode big endian, and UTF-8 (I've tried them all except ANSI of course). Saving a file in a different format is as complicated as I would like it to get for them, some will have trouble even with this.
I read the file like so:

I tried a regular FileReader to a BufferedReader and that didn't work. I tried a FileInputStreamto a DataInputStream and that didn't work. I accomplished the most with what I described above, FileInputStream to InputStreamReader to BufferedReader.
Does anyone know how to read Unicode in a file on a Windows file system?

I have used the byte conversion technique before
successfully when I loaded a set of properties
from a URL openStream(). The properties load()
method takes an InputStream and assumes ISO-8859-1
so I converted the bytes from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8.
Garbage characters were cleared up perfectly.I think you just got lucky that time. For characters up to U+007F, the UTF-8 encoding is the same as ISO-8859-1 (and most other encodings, for that matter). Characters in the range U+0080 to U+00FF will be encoded with one byte in ISO-8859-1, and with two bytes in UTF-8. In most cases, each of the two bytes in the UTF-8 representation will have values that are valid in ISO-8859-1. The decoded characters will be incorrect (and there will be too many of them), but they effectively preserve the original byte values, making it possible for you to re-encode the characters and then decode them correctly. But there's a big gap in the middle where the UTF-8 bytes produce garbage when decoded as IS)-8859-1. Run the included program to see what I mean.
I don't know what's going wrong with your application, but I do know that changing the encoding retroactively is not the solution. I also think you're right about asking users save files in a certain encoding. Considering how much trouble programmers have with this stuff, it's definitely too much to ask of users.

How to Read all files inside resource Folder inside Jar?

I have a Jar file,,,, The program reads for resource files in the resource folder inside the Jar. I want my program to read all files inside this folder without knowing the names or the number of files in the folder.
I am using this to make an Applet easy to be updated with spicific files. I just want to add a file inside the resource folder and Jar the program and automatically the program reads what ever is in there!!
I used the File class to get all file names inside the resource folder. it works fine before Jarring the program. After I jar I recieve a URI not Herarichy Exception!!
