I need to unlock iPhone without losing the information.

Hi Apple Support Community
I have an iPhone Locked by typing a wrong combination many times. This was done by a suspect of the crime of a family member, I have all the receipts with the IMEI of the phone.
Do I need a legal document to validate this? We think there are important clues inside the phone.
Please tell me what Apple needs to follow the procedure, this is very very important for the case.
Thank you!

Use this article:  Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
There is no other procedure.  The entire purpose of the passcode is to protect the personal user information.
It's irrelevant who bought the device.  Buying the device is not proof of ownership of the private data on the device.
For example, I buy my wife an iPhone.  She uses it and creates a passcode.  I do not have  legal right to her personal information.  I may own the device, and if I want, I can wipe it and restore it as new and use the device itself.  But the personal information is just that; her personal information.
Apple will not violate an individual's privacy, and you're not going to get any kind of document or court order to change that.

  • How can I temporarily remove games from my iPhone without losing the app data included?

My iPhone 5 is running low on space so I plan on cleaning it out soon. I have a lot of games on my iPhone with app data included that I don't play as often. I was planning on removing these temporarily because some day I might want to play them again but I'm afraid I won't have my progress anymore. Ex: My levels conquered on Cut The Rope or my worlds on Minecraft PE.
So is there a solution out there for me to be able to temporarily remove my games without losing their app data? All feedback is greatly appreciated and I how there is a way to do this!

The only way to recover the data for a deleted app would be to restore from a backup made before you deleted the app.  Apps and their data are integral to eachother, so deleting one deletes the other.
If you have a backup, you could restore from that to restore an App's data, but a restore is also an all or nothing option - the restore will restore everything to the state of the backup, not single or selective items.
Other than that, there is no way to acheive what you wish - if you delete the app you delete its data.

  • I got a new macbook air, need to sink iPhone without losing info

How do I sink my iphone to my new laptop without losing all my apps and pics? I hook it up and it says if I sink it I will lose everything.

You will need a third-party utility such as Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com in order to sync.

  • Can I change the Apple ID on my iPhone without losing the songs I've purchased under my current user I'd?

I currently have an apple ID on my iPhone which I've been sharing with my husband.   I had to turn iCloud off so that my info wouldn't get downloaded on his devices too.  I purchased an IPad and created a new user ID and would like to sync my iphone with my ipad.  I want to switch over my iPhone to the ID I have on my iPad.  Will I lose all the songs I've downloaded using the original Apple ID?

    Sorting out Apple ID
All Apple services use Apple IDs: iTunes Store, App Store, Books Store, Game Center, Find MyFriends, Find My iPhone, iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud etc.
All purchased items are forever tied to the Apple ID used to purchase.
In a family, you can configure iTunes Store, App Store and Books Store to use the same purchasing Apple ID.
With that, one can share the items bought with the family without re-purchasing.
Now for all the other Apple services, you can/should use a different Apple ID
Example: My son and daughter both have iPod Touch, they use my purchasing Apple ID for books, music and apps. But they have their own Apple ID for the other service like FaceTime, Game Center, iCloud and iMessage.
Now they can iMessage/Face Time me and their friends.

  • How do i take an app that's on my ipod touch with pictures and transfer it to my new iphone without losing the pictures

I have an app on my ipod touch with pictures on it, and i want to transfer the app and pictures onto my new iphone with the pictures and everything

You need to authorize the new computer in iTunes, transfer purchases from the iPad into the new iTunes library, backup the iPad and then restore the iPad from the newly created backup and then sync with iTunes.
This discussion describes the process in great detail.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3305461
As stated above, you can download apps again at no charge as long as you use the same ID. Depending on where you live, (in the U.S.) you can download just about everything again that you have purchased as long as you use the same ID.

  • I had to recreate my itunes library and now, when i tried to sync my ipod, i got a warning that everything currently on my ipod would be cleared; how do i sync without losing the information currently on my ipod?

Recently I was forced to recreate my entire iTunes library.  My computer shut down unexpectedly and when I restarted it, my iTunes library was gone from the iTunes software.  After *finally* receiving some information from iTunes support about restoring the library (which meant I had to do exactly what I was afraid I would have to do--basically click-and-drag the entire contents from my hard drive back into the library), I wanted to update my iPod with the songs I'd added since the last updating.  And this is where more trouble began.
When I plugged in my iPod to sync it with the library, I got a warning message informing me that the library currently on the iPod would be cleared during the syncing, because the iPod can only be associated with "one" library.  Well, I did NOT want to do that because I wanted to retain the playcount and other information about the songs.  I was also hoping to keep the playlists currently on the iPod.
So, my first instinct was to contact iTunes support.  The only problem there was that going through the Support pages ended up with my needing to call Apple.  I'd attempted that when I first lost the library and was told by the Support associate that ALL iTunes help and support must be done online.  Ironic, huh?  I can't get iTunes support online until I call Apple support to get a direct web address to take me to the express lane help pages.  And, unfortunately, I made the mistake of uninstalling and reinstalling my AOL software and lost ALL of my e-mails with the iTunes support addresses in the process.
So basically, I need to know what to do here.  Is there a way to keep the current iTunes library on my iPod and still syncing with the recreated library or do I just need to accept the loss of the library currently on my iPod?  I may try to call Apple Support and get that iTunes online support address again but I'd really like to get this resolved more quickly.  The last time that I called and then I got the iTunes online help address, it ended up taking 2 days to get that help.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

bought a new macbook air because my old computer is formatted. I want to sync my iphone to my new mac, so I can save the data on my iphone without losing data. how can I do?

You need to copy everything form your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  it simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

You can't. You will have to place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

you need to restore the phone on the computer to which it most recently synched.  This will remove the passcode but you will lose any data between the last backup and the current time.  Either that or sometime in the next 2 million minutes you remember your password.
