I plugged my ipad into laptop said there was an update - it started running I came back to ipad to see itunes symbol on it with the usb lead symbol, it won't do anything
tried doing an update now the ipad just says itunes with the usb (charger symbol under it )
I have tried turning on and off but it still doesnt work - it is still connected to my laptop - I disconnected etc and still not good.
What do I do??
You probably need to restore your iPad now since the update did not complete properly - and you more than likely need to use recovery mode. This explains how to do that.

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story............... iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!
Error 1611

Synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes. You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
My Ipad said there was an update. It asked for a network name and i typed my e-mail network name and password. Now I have a locked frame where it says Another network - name (my network name) safety - WPA2 password - my internet password. Now it is frozen - when i press button it says Ipad not adjusted - continue? and nothing happens alt all. I can't get away from this screen. Please help
Try to reset the device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally. -
I went to back up my iPhone4 and it said there was an update. So I clicked on 'update and backup' (or something close to that.) It took FOREVER...way longer than usual. When it was done, it showed the power cord w/an arrow to iTunes. ***??? I restarted my computer and tried the whole process again and still...the power cord with an arrow to iTunes. And I know this means I have to go to Apple and get another phone and will lose anything that wasn't backed up. Anyone else have this happen or have a solution so I don't have to do a restore???
Reboot your computer.
Disable your antivirus and firewall.
Connect the phone to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub. If your computer is not a laptop and has ports on both front and back use a port on the back.
If iTunes does not recognize the phone when you connect it see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If it STILL doesn't work open a command window and type:
netsh winsock reset
Then try again. (It seems that a recent Microsoft Windows update may have corrupted network settings; this restores them to the factory default).
BTW, was there an error number associated with the failed update? -
I need help, I pluged my iphone to itunes and got a message that said there was an update to download and update, I did but when itunes was rebooting and updating I got an error message. and now the phone is telling me that it cant be activated, to plug it in to itunes or to contact support care.
That message usually indicates that your phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier, then when you updated or restored it locked back to that carrier.

When I connected to iTunes, my phone said it was in "restore" mode, but I don't know why. Iam afraid that if I continue with the restore, I will lose my recent pics. How can I check iCloud to see if my pics are there? Will I lose my pics if I restore?

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimize Loss... Once you have Recovered your Device... Restore from the most recent Backup...

Microsoft Office 2011 no longer opens because "there is a problem" after updating mountain lion when the app store said there was an update available this morning. Reinstalling did not work. What's the problem?
Has your problem been solved by the updates??
Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".
MacBook: 7.1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz
Microsoft Office 2011: version 14.2.3
Mountain Lion: 10.8.2 (12C60) -
I was trying to update my iPhone but now it is frozen on the black screen with the apple icon. It won't do anything. Any suggestions?

Opened phone, message to upgrade to IOS7.Answered few questions then it asked whether I agreed with details of Cloud use. Said, agree, next screen, agree, goes no further. If I turn off the phone it puts me back to beginning, next to privacy agreement for cloud use, agreed. Nothing. Now I have no access to my phone functions at all. What could I do?
Even if you had it looked at in a Verizon store there is no guarantee that the issue is not via damage to the ear port.
Not saying you did it, if you had supplemental insurance on the device the damage would have been covered but a deductible would have applied. so you are in a catch 22 at the moment.
Many people have said that after it was sent back Verizon claimed it was physical damage. And ding their account.
Do not give your device to any Verizon store or reseller, others have said they did so and they were charged for a lost device.
again it does not make me comfortable.
The other option is to call Motorola and have them fix it and then send the same device back to you. There are service centers all over and you may be lucky and be close to one. This way even if they say its damage, you pay a smaller price to get it repaired than if lost, stolen or damaged according to Verizon.
Good Luck -

Adobe Acrobat Updater said there was an update.
I accepted and it has stalled. It opened a dialog box called Repair setup that says there are missing components and had a check beside a box that says it will reconfigure the Adobe pdf printer. Now everything is stalled. I can't cancel the update or the Repair setup dialog box. It won't quit. There is no option for a force quit. I can't restart the computer because Adobe cancels the restart. What do I do?
Try the Adobe forum area, since it is their product you are having issues with.

From Apple website when I go to itunes update to 10.3 I am not seeing the left column to download itunes 10.3. Does anyone else have this problem? I tried yesterday as well. Today, I threw my itunes 9.1.1 in the trash and emptied it... and then rebooted. What am I doing wrong?
What operating system are you running? I doubt it's an iPhone OS on a Mac Mini, but if you meant to choose 10.4 then you're out of luck. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ At the bottom of the left hand column on this page, you'll see it requires OS X 10.5 or higher.

No longer seeing the HTML Validator on bottom bar nor can I find it in any menus
If it was working in Firefox 4 it should work in Firefox 5
You can force 5.0 "compatibility" with the "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Compatibility Reporter]" extension, or with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility extensions.checkCompatibility] using about:addons.
But that would not be a good solution go to the addons site
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/html-validator/
Look just above change summary in the reviews it tells you to use
For those with Firefox 5.0, a compatible version 0.9.0.6 is here: http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/new_upgrade4.html
which the author's site, but if you click on "view all versions" at the bottom of the addons page you will see the author has submitted it and you pick it up as experimental. -
i tried to soft reset my ipod touch with the top button and the screen button. it turned off and then went to the blue screen with the apple like it should. however, it now just stays on that screen. it has a sort of clock looking thing at the bottom of the apple that does not move either. it has stayed on this screen for over 4 hours. i also can not hard reset it in itunes. i am not really goood at this sort of thing. does anyone have this problem or a possible solution? thanks

Frozen or unresponsive iPod touch
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the iPod On...
If that does not help... See Here:
