What is showing on the iphone screen?
    Try this:
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
Make sure itunes is updated to the lates version on the computer.

  • Had an update error now itunes will not recognise my phone and it is frozen

I tried to update my iphone 3g tonight and it encountered an error. Now itunes will not recognise the phone and it is frozen on a screen telling me to connect it to itunes. I have turned it on and off and it remains stuck. I have restarted my computer and itunes and no change.

Hey- just went through something similar - and I'm sorry I don't have the perfect answer... bc mine did what you are saying except my itunes did recognize that "an iphone" was connected and so it suggested that I do a recovery-mode restore on it and then I did a back up restore via itunes to get my most recent back up transferred to my iphone, and then it finally listed my phone as "xxx's iphone" in itunes.... here's the link I used: http://www.copytrans.net/blog/how-to-restore-iphone-after-updating-to-ios-7/  and I also used: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
I think what you are saying is that itunes doesn't even recognize that your iphone is plugged in - so you can't start the recovery process?  I DO know that in the hours of me muddling through the internet - googling this issue - that I did see other posts of those who plugged into itunes, and it didn't recognize their iphone, but they DID have suggestions on how to deal with the problem... while I don't have "the" solution, I wanted you to know I did see an answer out there - just skimmed past it as I was searching for mine... sorry I don't remember good luck!

    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
Are you releasing the home button when you see the connect to iTunes screen? Does iTunes start on its own? If it doesn't - start iTunes yourself.
    Also copied from the article.....
    5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:

  • TS1363 when i connect my phone itunes says it does not recognise my phone and need to update itunes to 64 bit. i have done this but still keeps coming back up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i try to connect my phone to itunes a message comes up saying it does not recognise it and must upgrade itunes to 64 bit i have done this numerous times but stillwill not recognise my phone.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I tunes is not recognising the renamed phone?

My wife is now using our daughters old Iphone 4. We've got a new sim card and created a new Apple account etc. When we connect the phone to the lap top to sync (my wife is signed into I tunes etc) the store says she has 16 updates. But these are for our daughter account. If we try to do the updates the are wanting our daughters ID password. How do we overcome this. Everything on the phone is signed in as my wife. Ideas?

You can either Delete those Apps Off the Phone and Not Resync them back...
Or Erase the phone and Start over...
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings
Then Connect to iTunes and just Sync what your Wife requires.

  • PC not recognising my phone

    Hi
This is probably a really simple question to answer. I have a N6280 and I have downloaded the Adobe Photoshop software that came with the phone. I want to download some pictures from the phone to my PC but the software does not recognise that my phone is connected.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Manta
    Thanks for the tip.
I tried it, but it didn't work. I think the fault might be with the CD because my PC comes up with 'does not recognise new hardware, need cd' etc or something like that.
Oh well, back the the drawing board.
    Thanks again

  • I tunes is not recognising my i pad have tried misconfig ?

    Start here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

If you provide the exact wording ogf the error message a more specific answer is likely.

  • Nokia PC Suite does not recognise my phone!

Normally when I plus it in, it takes a little while, but then the phone comes up.
Earlier today I installed an external hard drive, which used usb to connect. It is now disconnected, and switched off. Do you think that this has "disturbed" the computer, and now it is not recognising the usb cable connected to my phone?
In my sys tray, the Nokia PC suite icon has a red cross against it. No idea why!
    Any advice gratefully received!!
    Lemon x

Forgot to mention- I also installed a new printer today, but it uses the same USB as my old printer did.
