I want to block my iphone stolen last week with new IOS 7
My Iphone5 was stolen last week. Can I block it with the new ios7? The new ios was not installed on it yet. I do have teh IMEI number.
Thank You
This isn't very clear, if it wasn't installed what does iOS 7 have to do with blocking the iPhone? The provisions of the new iOS will only take effect after it is released.
In the meantime, to block you must have turned on Find My Phone in Settings > iCloud and registered the iPhone in iCloud. It must be turned on and connected to the Internet.
Change all passwords associated with accounts on your iPhone...report to police, insurance company, and carrier in case they offer blacklisting so it cannot be used.

If you've wiped the device remotely then it is no longer associated.
You could also change the password for your Apple ID. -
My partner's iphone was stolen last week and they have changed the password to her Apple ID. They also have access to her email. She can't change her email password for 1 month. She has bought a new iphone. How can she get it activated?

Hi there,
Can anyone help me!? I know how to copy my music library to my new computer but struggling with copying the contacts etc. Where do I find the contacts folder on my old computer?
Thanks
KI had my iPhone 4S stolen last week and I am going to sync it to my computer to get everything back on it.
If it is stolen , how are you going to sync it?
You mean you got a new iPhone and you want to sync it to your computer?
Plug it in.
I know how to copy my music library to my new computer
New computer??? Or new iPhone?
I know how to copy my music library to my new computer but struggling with copying the contacts etc. Where do I find the contacts folder on my old computer?
I suggest you simply copy your entire User folder from old computer to new computer. This way all your data (Music, photos, contacts, emails, calendars, documents, etc.) goes across. -
i lost my iphone,,,I want to block my iphone by IMEI,.
but i buy this phone unlock condition no contract,,
what should i do??Contact your wireless provider. Some offer IMEI blocking, some do not.
If you were using iOS 7 with Activation Blocking, the iPhone is useless to
anyone without knowledge of the email you used for activation and the
associated password. -

How do I sync this iPhone 4s to his laptop? The phone was stolen last week and everything was deleted. I've been trying for over an hour to get it to sync.
That"s part of my problem, I dont get that option.
I get iTunes store and that's about it.
I've thought about "erasing/resetting" all settings but I'm afraid to do it. Or am I
missing something in iTunes?
Help please!

If you had "Find My iPhone" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it.
If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. You can also tell your iPhone to "Play Sound", enter "Lost Mode", or "Erase".
Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPhone" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPhone" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

My iPad was stolen last week while we were moving. No 3G, just wi-fi. Is there any way to locate it? Also, will all my apps work on the iPad 2 and will I be able to transfer everything with a sync?
Was you iPad setup with "Find My iPad"? If not, there is no way to locate it. If you have set it up to use "Find My iPad", you can locate it as long as the iPad is connected to wifi, if not, your out of luck. That is, you can only locate it, if the person who found it connects to wifi.
And yes, all the apps you bought for your iPad, will work with a iPad 2, and you can restore to your new iPad 2 using the latest backup from your computer. -
I have a new computer and want to sync my Iphone and Ipad2 to the new computer (PC) instead of the old one, is there an easy way to do this?

Syncing with new computer
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources. -
I have moved to live in Abu Dhabi. I have an iPhone with UK chip that I need to keep for UK contact and business, but now want to buy an iPhone in Abu Dhabi with a UAE chip for local use in AUH. Can I have them both sync'd, and also my other devices??

My current situation: I have soooo many texts on my iphone and I haven't deleted many because I need the information contained in them for future reference and for legal purposes. I would really like to find a means and way to save them other than on the phone itself. I've done searches for various apps yet I'm not finding what I think I would need. It appears Apple does not sync the texts between the iphone and my MacBook Pro.
Try the computer apps PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac & PC):

I received my new iphone 6 last week, backed my iphone 5 and then restored my new handset. It has been working fine until today when I deleted all my contacts from my old handset. Contacts have gone from my new handset too, how do I get them back? I don't think the back up was done using icloud as I keep getting the message "not enough memory"
The point is not whether you used iTunes or iCloud to restore your new iPhone. It's whether you have Contacts turned on in Settings > ICloud. If you do on both your old iPhone and new iPhone then those devices are connected through iCloud. Deletions on one device are also made on the other.
You may be able to restore your Contacts be using your old device backup to restore your new iPhone again. Make sure that you turn Off ICloud functionality on your old iPhone before you delete anything else from it. -
I purchased a new iphone 4 last week and it has been working fine until yesterday the screen was freezing. Today I have restored factory settings and restored settings from a back up from a previous iphone 3G. The restore has not fixed the freezing issue. Any thoughts?
Only a week old? Take it back and get a new one one....call that one DOA,

I've updated my iPhone 4S with the latest iOS 6 but battery life had never improved as I expected. A friend of my had recently replace his iPhone 3GS with iPhone 5 and both us compared our simillar daily usage of browsing, emails with attachments (work related), messaging (via iMessage, WhatsAppa, WeChat) games, facebook, tweet, uploading, etc, it seems that iPhone 5 last longer by 35-40% compared to my iPhone 4S. By. The time he hits 60-55% on his iPhone 5, my iPhone 4S Is less than 15%... My Questions to the community or any Apple Consultant, is it preferrable to replace my beloved iPhone 4S with iPhone 5 in order to accommodate the performances of iOS 6 and the "coming soon" iOS 7? Is it a practise to replace every iPhone when there's a new iOS update? Please advise.
It largely depends on how much money you are prepared to spend.
Your question is much like asking "I have last year's model car. This year, the car has some new features. Should I trade in last year's model and get this year's?" Well, maybe. It's your call.
Each newer generation introduces some new features and capabilities.
