I wanted to restore my iphone beacause i've forgotten the passcode but it is asking me to update my software even though my iphone is up to date. and in the end , the update is showing error.

hello. i am having hard time with my iphone 4s. actually, i did set my passcode using the tamil keyboard. my passcode was 'ka' and 'lai'. there's no such alphabet in the keyboard. in order to get "lai" we've to tap "la" and "i". so, it will transform into "lai". i did this in my settings. and when i locked the phone and tapped the word "ka', "la" and "i', this time the two alphabets are not transforming into "lai". it keep remains as two different alphabets. so, i couldn't unlock my iphone 4s. then, i decided to factory reset it via itunes. but, there's a problem again. when i tapped the restore button it is asking me to update iphone software even though it is up to date. and yet when i clicked the download button, it will start the downloading process but after sometime there will be an error in downloading. so, until now i couldn't unlock my iphone. i hope there will a reply as soon as possible.

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have.

Yes. However this is the process I should have recommened. Remove the plist as mentioned about then restart the computer in Safe Mode and then try Software Update in Safe Mode. Once done then restart normally. A Safe Mode restart will clear some caches, it's possible one has become corrupt.

You say you went to Apple and they opened the phone and re-seated the connectors? That sounds unusual, because if there was a hardware issue,they would replace the hardware. You say you cannot get a replacement, is that because you are out of warranty? An out of warranty replacement is only $199 plus tax. It seems to me since you mention the fact you need to press hard to get the screen to react there is something going on with the hardware. If this problem has been going on for over a year, have you been reporting this to Apple. You say you cannot get a replacement and you are on the second phone, I wonder why they are denying you a replacement. Is there something you are not telling us??

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

You must have had find my iPhone on, or it was locked by your phone carrier.
Call your our cell carrier first.
then log on to a computer to iCloud to erase your iPhone.
NOW... You will be able to setup with a backup.
