ID and PackageFamilyName of Windows viewer

According to this page
http://blog.adrianroselli.com/2013/01/app-store-meta-tags.html
it's possible to have smart banner on your website simillar to iOS https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/AppleApplications/Reference/SafariWe bContent/PromotingAppswithAppBanners/PromotingAppswithAppBanners.html
with link with your app to WIndows Store. However following informations is required and event after dissection of AppxManifest.xml i'm not abble to get it:
<meta name="msApplication-ID"content="microsoft.build.App"/>
<meta name="msApplication-PackageFamilyName"content="microsoft.build_8wekyb3d8bbwe"/>
msApplication-ID is required and references your app's identifier.
msApplication-PackageFamilyName is required and contains the package family name created by Visual Studio.
Is this something what i can find myself?
THanks

To find the package name for your Windows Store app:
1) Log into the Windows Store Developer Portal
2) Go to this URL: https://appdev.microsoft.com/storeupload/services/V11/ReservedInfo?productGuid=00000000-00 00-0000-0000-000000000000 in the same browser window
In the resulting XML file look for <MainPackageIdentityName>. That'll have your package name in it.

  • Every time I click a folder arrow to open...finder reframes my window view. And other finder problems

When using the finder windows sorted either by name or date modifed, when I click a folder arrow, the window reframes to the center (or some other spot) that means I need to scroll back to the folder. When I change an item in a folder when sorted by date modfied, it of course moves to the top, but my window view stays centered where I am, and I have to scroll to the top to find the folder I'm working on. Both situations have the feel of "what I'm working on just dissappeared". I have become used to it, but it is one of the things in Lion that I hate. Is there a workaround...a way to keep the finder window view where it is when I click the open folder arrow, or to reframe to the top if I make a folder change and have the sort set by date modifed?
Mail behaves in the same manner where the view of read and unread wildly scrolls itself when clicking an unread mail. I have tamed this by creating a smart mailbox of unread e-mail, but it seems to be some system wide preference for an unknown sort view that I would like to fix.
Also, when I choose the sort by label option in the finder window, all the red pops to the top, but then all the other labels are scattered and not sorted as a for instance...
Perhaps this is fixed in Mountain Lion?
    Thanks for any help.
I am preparing to upgrade to Mountain Lion this weekend, but if I have some system problem, I would like to resolve it before I go forward.

    Hello Josegued,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you may have a customized keyboard shortcut created. You can take a look at this article to see how to remove it.

-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.

  • Colors differ in PhotoShop and Windows Viewer

    Dear members
    I got a problem.. when I adjust/ photoshop a picture in PhotoShop cs3 I save it.
Then when I open it in the Windows Viewer.. the colors are different from PhotoShop. Some are lighter other darker.
When I send this to print. The colors of the Windows Viewer match the result. And the colors of PhotoShop doesn't.
I've got my screen also calibrated.
Does anyone know where the problem is?

    Dave,
Really there was no offense taken. It's only that these problems are a bit more complicated than simply calibrating the monitor. Learning to understand these things takes time. For me it took many long mountain bike rides and hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains where I could clear my head enough for the light bulb of understanding to turn on.
I might have reacted a but harshly too. Really, we're all here to learn and share information and hopefully not get too confused.
    Assie,
"'Trust what you see in Ps and don't worry about Viewer as it's just an approximation'
"I think this is with my system different. When i see a picture in viewer and i let it printed professionally. The colors on the printed picture are the same of the viewer.. and not the same with those in PS. "
Good, your back in the thread. In order to help you we need to know a couple of things. What is your RGB working space? What monitor do you have and how has it been calibrated - gamma, white point, luminence, calibration device, etc?
With the images you are having printed professionally, what is the data flow for the printing? What type of printer is being used and what is the lab's color management setup? Are you sending them tagged files and if so, what profile is being embedded?
Really the best way to wade through all this is one baby step at a time. First make sure that your screen is calibrated properly (this means hardware colorimeter) and your ambient lighting is correct for the luminence of your screen. Prints need to be viewed under a standardized light source. Inkjets love the lighting from Solux (solux.net). If you are going to display prints under other types of light, then it's best to make custom profiles that factor in the light source as part of the profile.
Once you have your monitor properly calibrated, you can be reasonbly sure that what you see in Ps is what is in your file. For any kind of output, you need to customize the data for the output device. Normally this is done with output profiles, and usually better results come from custom profiles. You have to know what's happening to your data at every step of the way to determine where things are going awry if you get prints that are not meeting your expectations, so tackle one thing at a time and don't move on to the next until your'e sure the last step has been done correctly or it will be difficult to pinpoint what to change.

how can u change the desktop and taskbar to a classic windows view in 8.1

    Hi,
If you mean to customize the desktop, you can use themes, desktop backgrounds, window colors, and screen savers to personalize your desktop.
If you want some free themes and desktop backgrounds to use, there are lots to choose from in the
    Personalization Gallery.

  • FCPX. Viewing  timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I am an old FCP7 user, learning FCPX. In 7, I liked being able to see timecode and scrolling in the frame of the canvas window. I would move and enlarge the canvas to fill a second monitor. I could still see the timecode and be able to scroll without having to go back and forth with the timeline on the first monitor.
I don't like that in X, the timeline is the only place that shows timecode and scrolling.  So that when my viewer is in a second monitor, I have to go back and forth with the first monitor to view timecode and scroll. I put my script (word doc) on my first monitor which covers the FCP timeline. And makes it very cumbersome to view the script, view the movie in a large format and scroll/ get my orientation in the movie I am editing.
In FCPX, is it possible to view timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I don't use dual monitors, so this may not help, but my 1st thought is device driver version

I just got a second monitor to complement my 24" iMac, and would like to take advantage of it by having the effects window and the browser window with all my clips open at the same time. Anyone know if this is possible?

I think you just need to grab the Effects tab and drag it out of the Browser onto your extra monitor (though I could be wrong).

  • Forms 10g installed and running on Windows Vista

    <font color=0000FF>Update 12-Dec-2008: </font>Oracle has published NOTE 559067.1 -- How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 - hence 10.1.2.3 - on Windows Vista, 24-OCT-2008 with some installation help.
<font color=0000FF>Update 07-July-2008: </font> Added text at the bottom showing how to find patchsets for Forms 10g.
<font color=0000FF>Update 29-May-2008: </font> This thread was started in November, 2007.  In January, 2008, Oracle released Patch 3 for Forms 10g, which makes Forms 10g compatible with Windows Vista.  As time permits I'll try to keep the information in this post up to date.   Updated information will be inserted <font color=0000FF>as blue text.
    </font>
    <font color=0000FF>Original message begins here:</font>
This is a second thread I am posting to outline the steps I have used to install Forms on a Windows Vista Home Basic laptop.   The other thread describes installing Forms 6i:
Forms 6i installed and running on Windows Vista
Please read through the initial part of that post for the background.  I realize Oracle has not certified Forms 10g to run on Vista, but the time has come for my associates and I to upgrade our old computers to new desktop/laptop platforms, and I would hate to acquire XP machines and be stuck with them for the next 5 years.  <font color=0000FF>(Note: Since first posting this message, Oracle has certified Forms 10g Patch 3 (version 10.1.2.3.0) to run on Vista)</font>  So after another person informed me that he had Forms installed and running on Vista, I went ahead and bought one.  I found that as long as I set the compatibility mode to run Forms programs as Windows XP (and a few other changes), Forms 6i and 10g run quite satisfactorily.
<font color=0000FF>Update 29-Jan-2008: </font> Unfortunately, it turns out that the Forms 10g Builder running on Vista <font color=0000FF>had</font> a major flaw:   If you try to develop a form, the Builder will crash if you try to compile a procedure that calls another procedure in the form that has errors.  The problem is reported and described in this thread:  Error compiling a form under Vista
<font color=0000FF>Update 12-Mar-2008: </font> Installing Patch 3 on Vista does not help with this problem -- the Builder still crashes in the same situation.
<font color=0000FF>Update 25-July-2008: </font> Applying Patch 7047034 has corrected the problem.   See this link within this thread:   Forms 10g: Installing Patch 7047034 on Windows Vista
Webutil note:  I am stuck in a Forms 6i client/server world, so all my forms must run in that environment.   Therefore I have not used any Webutil software, and I do not know whether that part will run under Vista.
Internet Explorer note:  On Windows Vista, IE CANNOT be used to run the Web Forms runtime.  It crashes immediately when you try to run a form.  Instead, I can use either Firefox (Firefox 2, Firefox 3.0 Crashes with Forms 10g) or Netscape, as long as they are set to disable java.  <font color=0000FF>[ Correction:   IE7 on Vista now runs the Forms 10g forms.   You just need to add "?config=jpi" to the browser URL when starting the Web Forms session.   More IE/Vista info: [url=http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=642973]Vista JInitiator Problem ]</font>

    Oracle Developer Suite Installation Guide:
        http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25016_07//doc/dl/core/B16012_04/toc.htm
The steps below are those I followed to install Forms 10g (version 10.1.2.0.2)
    I.  Preliminary system changes in Windows
When I started installing, I got the following error message:    Install has encountered an error while
attempting to verify your virtual memory settings.
Please verify that the sum of the initial sizes of
the paging files is at least 256 MB.To fix this:  Go to Control Panel, System and Maintenance, View amount of RAM and processor speed (under "System"),
Advanced system settings (in left "Tasks" column), Advanced tab, Settings (under "performance"), Advanced tab:
Virtual Memory shows a "Total paging file size for all drives: 2337MB.
Click "change", Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives"
Click "custom size:", set Initial size to: 2048, Max to 4096
Click set button, then OK, get message:The changes you have made require you to restart your computer before
they can take effect.Restart the computer.
    II.  Installing Forms 10g
    1.  Download two files from Oracle:
        ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
        ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
2a.  Before extracting, it is a good idea to shut down any virus protection software.  It can sometimes prevent some files from being created.
2b.  Extract both into the C:\oracle directory, as disk1 and disk2.
    3.  Using Windows Explorer, change the properties of setup.exe in the C:\oracle\disk1 folder.  (In windows explorer, right click, properties, Compatibility tab.)   Change the compatibility to run as Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
    4.  Right click setup.exe and click "Run as administrator"
    5.  Select "Installation type" = Complete (1.11 GB)
    6.  Received this message:Windows Firewall has blocked this program from
accepting incoming network connections.  If you
unblock this program, it will be unblocked on all
public networks that you connect to.
    C:\users\steve\appdata\local\temp\orainstall...
      2007-10-29_11-59-08am\jre\1.4.2\bin\javaw.exeI clicked "Unblock"
    7.  Received this message:  "Provide outgoing mail server information"  I entered the smtp mail server that I use.
    8.  A summary screen displayed showing 274 products under New Installations.
    I clicked the Install button.
    9.   Received this message:  You can find a log of this install session at:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2007.....log
    10.  The installation completed.  Installed products shows Forms 10.1.2.0.2
    III.  After the install completed
    1.  Create a shortcut to the Forms 10 Builder on the Desktop.
On the shortcut line, after the .exe, add *userid=userxxx/pwxxx@orcl* so Builder automatically logs into 10g database.  If you do step 4 below (creating an easily-accessible folder to use for your forms) change the "Start in" path on the shortcut so it points to that folder.  Otherwise, Forms Builder will not find referenced objects and PLL libraries when it opens a form.  Also do the same on the Start, All Programs shortcut for the Forms Builder.
Edit:  After applying Patch 3, the following steps are not necessary.
Set its compatibility to Windows XP.
Set checkbox: "Run this program as as an administrator."  (Without this, FormBuilder will NOT open a PLL library.)
Click the "Show settings for all users" and change values there.
    2.  Copy "Start OC4J Instance" icon to desktop.
Set its compatibility to Windows XP.
The first time it runs, I got a Windows popup to unblock program named Java.  I clicked "Unblock".
    3.  tnsnames.ora:
    Rename C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    to:  tnsnames_orig.ora
If you created a tnsnames.ora file for Forms 6i, just copy it to the path above.  If not, do this:
Create a new tnsnames.ora file, copying entries old file on my old laptop, which contains all the connections I use.
Delete the old laptop entry, replace with new entry for the new local ORCL connection on new laptop from tnsnames file renamed from the c:\oracle\... ...\10.2.0\db_1\ path.
    4.  Optional:  Create an easily accessible folder to store fmb files:
    C:\users\steve\.1\fmb10
You don't really want to keep drilling into C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms, and then find your .fmb file among the several dozen oracle-supplied files.
To create a folder named .1, you have to open a CMD.exe (Windows DOS) window, and type the Make Directory command:
    MD .1
That will create the folder within the current directory -- mine defaults to C:\users\steve
Note:  If you also need to use Forms 6i like me, DO NOT EVER open a .fmb file in the Forms 10 Builder from the Forms 6i folder.  If you compile it, or even worse, save the .fmb, Forms 6i *cannot ever* access the file.  Instead, always use the File Manager (Windows Explorer) to copy the fmb from the fmb6 folder into the fmb10 location.
    5.  Change the Forms 10g Default.env file using a text editor.
This file replaces all the settings originally written to the Windows Registry (GREAT idea, Oracle!  I hate the registry.)  No more Regedit.  The default.env file is located at: (DevSuiteHome_1 path)\forms\server\default.env
Locate line with:  FORMS_PATH= and add:
        ;C:\users\steve\.1\fmb10
    Add a new line:
    FORMS_MMAP=FALSE
The above allows compiling an fmx while the form is running.
    Add a new line:
    FORMS_ROWLOCK_OPTIMIZATION=FALSE
(This fixes Oracle bug number 3949854, which prevents automatic skipping if the same value is typed over another value. TAR 4806199.993 Automatic Skip failure...)  See bug 4068896
    Add a new Line:
    FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY=False
This allows use of Query-Where window in enter query, after entering a colon in any input field.  Without this, Forms returns FRM-40367: Invalid criteria in field nnn in example record.  Oracle shut it down to prevent "sql injection" attacks.
    6.  Jiniator setup:
    Run file jinit.exe in C:\oracle\DevSuiteHime_1\jinit\jinit.exe
    It installs Jinitiator 1.3.1.22.
    I installed it in C:\oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.22\
For Firefox, make sure a copy of file \bin\NPJinit13122.dll resides in   C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins.
For Netscape, the path is:  C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\plugins
    7.   Browser settings
See the note above about using Firefox 2 and not Firefox 3!
In Firefox 2 go to:  Tools-> Options-> Content
    Uncheck the "Enable Java" checkbox
--Firefox terminates if this is not done!
Note:  After my system automatically installed updates to either java or Firefox, re-check the "Enable Java" setting.  I am suspicious that one of these installs re-enables java in the browser.
Also note:  some web sites cannot display properly if java is disabled.  Example:  U.S. time website: http://www.time.gov   Use Internet Explorer to view these.
In Netscape make the same changes as Firefox.  Without disabling java, it also terminates when you try to run a form.
Creating a url to use in the browser:
    Try this:
        http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet
If it does not work, change the 8889 port number as follows:
    Open file:  C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\install\portlist.ini
    Note the number in line:
Oracle Developer Suite HTTP port = 8889
Use the number as the port number.
You can also change the 127.0.0.1 to the computer name:
Control Panel, System and Maintenance, See the name of this computer (under "System").  Mine is "steve-PC"
So the alternate URL is:     http://steve-PC:8889/forms/frmservlet
To try out the URL, start the OC4J instance set up above.  Then start either Netscape or Firefox, and enter the URL.  You should get a welcome screen.
If the above URL works, start up the Forms Builder, and open Edit, Preferences.  On the General tab, uncheck the "Build before running" check box (optional).  On the Runtime tab, set the "Application Server URL to the url above.
To run a real form, add this to the URL after frmservlet, (with no spaces):
        ?form={formname}&userid={userxxx}/{passwordyyy}@{connect-string}
but replace the parts in curly braces with the appropriate values.  Example:
        http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=ABC&userid=abc123/zyx@orcl
Setting up Forms Builder to directly run a form in the browser:
Run the Forms Builder.  Go to Edit, Preferences, Runtime tab.
Set the Application Server URL to:
        http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet
(or use whatever URL string you developed above)
Set the Web Browser Location to:
        "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\navigator.exe"
(or an equivalent to run the Firefox browser).
    8.  FORMSWEB.CFG file changes
    The file is located at:
    C:\ORA_DS_101202\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\formsweb.cfg
I changed the following two lines in the file, but these are my personal preferences:
    separateFrame=true
    lookandfeel=Generic
    9.  FMRWEB.RES file changes
For Oracle help:  Enabling Key Mappings
The file fmrweb.res defines actions (triggers that run) when a function key is pressed while running Forms.  The one released has unix-style key mapping, but I prefer keys originally mapped for Windows PC Forms users. There is a fmrpcweb.res in the same folder that can be renamed to fmrweb.res.
    In the C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms path, I renamed fmrweb.res to fmrweb_orig.res.
I have a file that I prefer to use, so I put it into the folder as fmrweb.res. The contents are listed below. It is organized so the most important keys are listed alphabetically at the top (URFD column is the sort column), followed by a group of less-important keys.  These are keys that are available to users, but they either would not use, or are disabled within most forms.  The URFD column in the second set starts with a hex A0 character, which is a high-order space, so collates after normal alphabetic characters.  (Note: If you want to copy the text below and use it, the hex A0 character has been changed by the forum software to a space. So you would need to use a text editor with hexadecimal character capabilities to replace the space with the original character. )
My file has special keys defined for F2 (I use it for a debugging Key-F2 trigger in my forms), and a "Cursor to Home" F12 function. All the rest are pretty much the same as in the released fmrpcweb.res file, only mine are organized alphabetically on the URFD column.
The Web Forms fmrweb.res file is editable using any programming editor (NOT MS Word!!!). The old Client/Server key mapping file, fmrusw.res, could only be changed using the Oracle Terminal program (and it is a pain to use).
Here is the main part of my fmrweb.res file:#

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
    Two points, Steve:
    1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
    2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?
    Regards

  • Pasting smart quotes and apostrophes in code view.

Sine upgrading to Dreamweaver CS5, I haven't been able to copy/paste smart quotes and apostrophes into code view without them automatically being converted to straight quotes.
For example, the following sentence (notice the curly quotes):
John’s new song is called “DW Blues”
would get pasted into Code View as:
John's new song is called "DW Blues"
Notice the smart quotes and apostrophe are replaced with single and double ticks, or "straight quotes."  While this seems like a minor detail, it's extremely important to our writers and editors to have them appear on the website exactly as typed.
If I do the same copy/paste in Design View (doc type is XHTML Transitional), it appears as:
    John's new song is called &quot;DW Blues&quot;
The characters are still replaced, and the straight quotes are then entity encoded (as expected).
This doesn't happen with other valid UTF-8 characters like ™, ®, —, etc., or with any other code editors I've used, including DW CS3.
Is there a hidden preference somewhere to disable this "feature," or is it just a bug?
    Please help!

It's now 4 years since jsparacio posted this, and I just wanted to let everyone know that I had -- and am still having -- the exact same problem with Dreamweaver CS5 (running first under Windows XP, then Windows 7, and now again with Windows 8.1). So it's not just Macs that are affected.
FWIW, I have set my DW CS5 Paste preferences to the 3rd of 4 options available
        1 - Text Only
        2 - Text With Structure
3 - Text With Structure Plus Basic Formatting
4 - Text With Structure Plus Full Formatting
in the EDIT > PREFERENCES > Copy/Paste Preferences dialog box.
But the Paste Special command ignores this setting, giving me only the first 2 options from which to choose, with option 2 the default selection for Paste Special operations (options 3 and 4 are grayed out, and can't be selected).
According to David Sawyer McFarland's _Dreamweaver CS5: The Missing Manual_ (O'Reilly Media, 2010), the reason these are grayed out is because I am pasting unformatted ASCII text which I generated in a program editor called "UltraEdit":
"... Choose EDIT > PASTE SPECIAL to open the Paste Special window. Here, you can choose which of the four techniques you wish to use ... sort of. You're limited to what Dreamweaver can paste. For non-Microsoft Office products, you can use only the first two options--the others are grayed out--whereas you can choose from any of the four with text copied from Word or Excel." (McFarland, p. 81)
Regardless of such restrictions, standard copy-and-paste (CTRL+C followed by CTRL+V) works just fine for me using Dreamweaver CS4 (i.e., I have never needed to use the Paste Special command), but with DW CS5, neither Paste command (CONTROL+V or CTRL+SHIFT+V) works properly with typographic/curly/smart quotes.
All typographic quotes -- ASCII-0146 and ASCII-0147 (double quote marks); plus ASCII-0145 and ASCII-0146 (single quote marks, for quotes within a quote) -- are converted to inch (&quot; is entered in the code) and foot (' is entered in the code) marks when I copy-and-paste text with these characters into Dreamweaver's Design View.
When I copy this same plain ASCII text directly into the code (rather than using Design View), typographic double open & close quotes are converted to the inch (") mark, and typographic single open & close quotes are converted to the foot (') mark.
The beginning of this week, I installed Dreamweaver CS5, ver. 11.0, Build 4909 under Windows 8.1 OS on my new Ultrabook. I was hoping that under Windows 8.1, DW CS5's handling of typographic quotes might improve so that I can actually use this program that I purchased 4 years ago. Alas, no such luck: I continue to have the same problem I had when I first upgraded to Dreamweaver CS5 back in August 2010 (then running under Windows XP on my desktop computer).
Back in August 2020, when I first asked about fixes, I was told to change the Title/Encoding setting of Page Properties to "Western European" -- which I tried, but it didn't work then, and it doesn't work now ... and even if it did, it wouldn't be a proper fix for the problem as I have plenty of good reasons for wanting my HTML page Title/Encoding set to Unicode (UTF-8), not Western European ("charset=iso-8859-1").
The ability to copy-and-paste typographic quotes is such a big deal for me that I chose back in August 2010 to revert to Dreamweaver CS4, which I've been using ever since.
It is *very* frustrating that, 4 years later, I still can't use this program, and shall be reverting to DW CS4, yet again.
I continue to be completely flummoxed by this. Every other program with which I am familiar converts non-typographic quotes to typographic/curly/smart quotes ... never have I seen the process automated in reverse!

  • How to get back old windows view on photoshop cc?

    Hey all,
It seems like somebody else must have asked this question at some point... but here it is again, because I can't find the answer! The old PS windows view was exactly what I needed. (the option for one or multiple views of the same file in different non-floating windows, located in the center menu bar. Mine is in 5.1.) It isn't there in PS CC (in the default view or any other that I can find, anyway.) I really need to have this so that I can display and compare several slightly different working versions of the same file side by side, one on top of the other, etc. This is also the easiest and most straightforward way to easily drag content from one comp to another, IMHO, but that's not the biggest issue. Being forced to work with floating windows as the only option is just not something I'm willing to do. It's almost getting to the point where this is the biggest single issue that would keep me from moving to CC.
Is there any way of bringing back this old windows view option? It's hard to believe that there wouldn't be-- I can't be the only one who needs this for the best workflow-- but who knows... All thoughts and info appreciated.

    Look under Window>Arrange.
The Application Bar was removed starting in cs6, but all the same stuff should be under Window>Arrange

In the PC version of Skype you have the ability to separate your control panel with your contacts etc from your Call/message window. see the attached screenshot of what it looks like.

Hi - just using the new iMovie for the first time - apparently there should be a sidebar containing tools like "Content Library". Not on mine - even in Window view, Content Library features like text etc are all greyed out - obviously it's me - anyone help please?

Sorry - I should have added that I have imported a Quicktime movie, originally created as an iPhoto slideshow.
I want to create rolling credits at the movie end and apparently you can only do this using iMovie - can you help please?

  • Acrobat won't remember size and shape of window

I'm running Acrobat Standard 7.1.0 on Windows XP Professional SP3. Each time I open Acrobat, either directly or by clicking on a PDF email attachment, the application opens in a landscape shaped (horizontally oriented) rectangular window. I then resize and reshape the window in a portrait format for ease of use. Unlike every other Windows application, Acrobat simply will not remember the window size and shape that I prefer. Is this behavior unique, or have others experienced it as well? Is there anything I can do to correct the problem?

I know this is WAY after the fact and it's not likely to get a response but it's worth trying anyway:
I'm using Acrobat 9 Standard on XP Professional and I have the window resize problem.  Every time I open Acrobat--directly or by opening a PDF file--the window is always on my left monitor and sized so large that it almost fills the screen.  The document opens at 100% zoom by default and barely fills 2/3 of the program window as set in preferences as is "Restore las view settings when reopening documents".
Here's the rub: this problem only started after PDFlyer toolbar was installed.
    Any ideas?
