Idoc Testing! Need help!

Hi!
(Please give answers specific to my question & pls read below)
i want to test idoc outbound as well as inbound.
  First Consider inbound,
I ve read previous posted threads it was mentioned  goto>we19> give idoc no
I want to know <b>what is idoc no how we get idoc no for the idoc.
</b>
Then i know the steps...
  Now Outbound,
How to test outbound idoc -- i want to know how my posting program has correctly generated idoc to ale layer.
I want this in complete detail.
   Thanks!
   Rahul.

Hi Rahul,
<b>idoc structure</b>
http://www.sapbrainsonline.com/ARTICLES/TECHNICAL/idoc/SAP_IDOC_structure_introduction.html
<b>What is Idoc?</b>
<b>I give overview of IDoc terminology and how IDocs work in an enterprise will clarify the process</b>
SAP’s presence in the IT world is justified by a central premise: It turns a company’s many individual systems into one, big supersystem. More than a linking together of applications, SAP’s implementation causes a redirection of the flow of information through a company and its partner companies that enhances the potential of its business functions.
This flow of information is enabled by a core element in SAP technology: the Intermediate Document, or IDoc. Technically, the IDoc is an example of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Unlike conventional EDI, IDocs are not based on a descriptive language.
The IDoc concept borrows the best features of EDI and combines them with the best features of conventional transaction file formats. The result is a lean data transport mechanism that is the engine of SAP data flow, tying together applications, databases, companies, and networks. Here is a look at the makeup of IDocs within the application architecture.
Form and content: IDoc terminology
As is often the case with proprietary technologies, SAP assigns specific, object-oriented meanings to familiar terms. When referring to IDocs, the term document refers to a set of data comprising a functional group of records with a business identity. (For example, all the data in a purchase order, or all the profile information of a supplier in a supplier master record.)
A message refers to the contents of a specific implementation of an IDoc; it’s a logical reference. This differs from a reference to the IDoc itself, which specifies the message’s physical representation. Think of it this way: If you’re watching a parade pass by, the mayor waving to the crowd from his limousine is the message, and the mayor’s limousine (which is specific to the mayor) is the IDoc. You’re building a logical object, and the IDoc is both its container and the vehicle that moves it.
The IDoc control record
Each IDoc has a single control record, always the first record in the set. The structure of this record describes the content of the data records that will follow and provides administrative information, such as the IDoc’s functional category (Message Type/IDoc Type), as well as its origin (Sender) and destination (Receiver) as in conventional EDI (see Figure A).
Figure A
IDOC number  Sender  Receiver  Port  Message type  IDoc type
1234567890    R3NYC  R3LA     FILE  INVOICES       INVOICE01
This “cover slip” format informs the receiving system of the IDoc’s purpose, and the receiving system uses it to determine the correct processing algorithm for handling the arriving IDoc.
Data records
The data records following the control record are structured alike, including two sections: a segment information section and a data section.
In the first part of a data record, the segment information section describes the structure of the data that follows, for the benefit of the IDoc processor. There is a segment name (like an EDI segment identifier) that corresponds to a data dictionary structure to which the IDoc processor has access. The remaining information is useful for foreign systems, such as a partner company’s Oracle system, which has no such data dictionary.
The second part of the record is the data itself, a storage area of 1,000 characters.
Status records
If you’ve ever ordered a package from a faraway location and tracked its progress using the Internet-based tracking utilities now provided by most major parcel carriers, you’re familiar with the list of stops and transfer points through which a package passes on its way to you.
This collection of records is exactly what you’ll see in an IDoc that has begun its work. Following the data records in an IDoc, status records accumulate as an IDoc makes its way from one point in a process to another.
Typically, an IDoc will acquire several of these records as its does its job. They are simple records, consisting of a status code (there are more than 70 codes, covering a broad range of conditions and errors), a date/time stamp, and some additional status information fields for system audit purposes. In addition, as errors occur in the processing of an IDoc, status records (see Figure B) are used to record these errors and the date/time of their occurrence.

IDoc Base
IDocs, as data formatting tools, enable the easy sharing of data between databases and applications within a company as well as being an efficient data courier between companies. Typically in SAP, a database of IDoc definitions exists, to which any application may have access.
This “IDoc Base” gives all the applications and processes in your company domain the capacity to send, receive, and process a document in a contextually appropriate way, without doing anything to the data. For example, a purchase order IDoc can filter through every process it touches, passing from system to system, accumulating status records to track its progress.
Every department using the data can use it appropriately without any cumbersome intermediate processes, because each department draws its key to interpreting the IDoc from the same source.
Multiple messages
One cumbersome feature of conventional EDI is the embedding of more than one functional record type in a document. The unwieldy X-12 888 Item Maintenance transaction set is an example: It purports to handle so many different configurations of product master data that it is horrifically difficult to integrate into an existing system.
IDocs, on the other hand, handle multiple messages with ease. Given the centralized IDoc interpretation that SAP provides to all its parts, it’s no problem to define an IDoc that will contain more than one message, that is, more than one data record type.
A customer master IDoc, for example, may contain customer profile information records for a customer with many locations. But it may also contain location-specific pricing information records for that customer in the same document. This is an incredibly efficient way of bundling related records, particularly when passing large amounts of complex information from system to system (see Figure C).

Final thought
There is no mastering SAP without mastering its workhorse, the IDoc. ERP environments utilizing SAP and similar platforms are made necessary in the first place by the increasing demands of ever more integrated business relationships. IDoc technology addresses this trend with a simple but powerful design philosophy: Data is no longer something to be stored; it’s something to be moved.

    Hi experts,
Need help with IDOC. I'm creating 2 FM to process an existing idoc.
first FM will use the data from idoc 1 to populate EDIDD for idoc 2.
second FM will use the data from idoc 2 to populate EDIDD for idoc 3.
when during processing, I encountered error message "No function module for input process code <second FM>".
although i already link the FM to be used, why does FM 1 cannot call FM 2 directly?

  • In testing 9 and X, "Compare Docs" we have a critical issue and really need help!

For years we have used Acrobat 7 to do PDF compares and we love it!  However, the company recently advised we must upgrade to 9 and then eventually to X.  In testing 9 and X, Compare Docs we have a critical issue and really need help.  Our PDFs are produced by IT in a batch process and one of our main, critical functions is to compare previous PDFs to current PDFs;  however, in using 9 the Compare screen automatically sets the Doc Description for our PDFs to "Scanned Doc" and does not produce any differences! If you try to change the setting to Reports --it totally shuts down both documents without running!  Version 7 runs the compare of the same PDFs  beautifully, pointing out all the differences, as usual!  Has this every happen to anyone?  Do you know what we can do to our PDFs to allow version 9 to do the compare and produce results?  Why is 9 treating these non-scanned PDF docs as such?  Thanks so much for any help or insight you can give me on this issue!

  • Need help on Oracle Application Testing Suite

    Hi,
I need help on accessing one script into another script in OATS like the way we access methods of one class into another class in Java. I have created 2 scripts (when i do recording they created as a projects in open script editor), now i want to use my first script in second script.
    Thanks,
    VaraPrasad

I have a similar problem with the OATS v9.20 installation. I did manage to install it on our main load generator (running Windows 2003 Server) but when it came to installing OpenScript on my laptop (XP SP3) the install 'hangs' at 78%.
I did raise a support call with Oracle about this (there was a bug report generated) but the case is still open.
I've been waiting to hear when the next version was due (in the hope that this might have been resolved) but by the sounds of it there could still be an issue on WinXP with v9.21?
For reference I originally logged this with the following in the description:
The installation looks like it is failing because of a double backslash in a path ending "OATS920\\bin\copyOUI.bat". We then get an error in javaw.exe which when OK'ed then stops the installation at the stage "creating 'Uninstall Oracle Application Testing Suite' in folder 'Oracle Application Testing Suite' ".

  • Plz , need help on IDOC mapping

    Hi friends
I need help on mapping IDOC (invoic02) to a customer fields to be sent to a printhouse .
The idoc contains several Item lines , from 1  and up after for instance
The fields  E1EDP01-MENGE and E1EDP26-BETRG  could be repeated many times , the customer wants  eah line item (quantity , price and subtotal )  in separate  lines.
What is the best approach to do the mapping , and how can I loop in the idoc segments in order to get each line separetly.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi
Thanks again , plz bear with me as i am new to this kind of assignment.
This is a part of my requirement, so i suppose that I have to create a Data type as node for the customer fields corresponding to the node in IDOC and just map the source node to the target node , and it will repeat it self as many times as there is line items in the sales order.
    Customer fields              Idoc fields.
                        segment E1EDP01
    DETAIL_ANTAL     E1EDP01-MENGE  -  LOOP
                         segment E1EDP26
    DETAIL_STK_PRIS     E1EDP26-BETRG - QUALIFIER = 001- LOOP
    DETAIL_SUBTOTAL     E1EDP26-BETRG - QUALIFIER = 003 LOOP
If I change the context of the source, will it not affect the source node at all.
    best regrads.

  • Need help with vulnerability scanning & penetration testing

I need help in finding tools which will allow me to scan for vulnerabilities, monitor access rights, run penetration testing and monitor user activity on sql server 2008. I do not want to spend too much money so please suggest some inexpensive yet reliable tools.
    Thanks in advance

I need help in finding tools which will allow me to scan for vulnerabilities, monitor access rights, run penetration testing and monitor user activity on sql server 2008. I do not want to spend too much money so please suggest some inexpensive yet reliable
    tools.
You are addressing a whole lot of different areas. Obviously there is no tool that does all that.
    Some have been mentioned.
The term Monitoring User Activity is a bit problematic in that sense, that this can be everything and would produce huge traces and overhead. You probably want to focus on certain actions. For that you can in fact SQL Server’s
    built-in Auditing (technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd392015%28v=sql.100%29.aspx )
For penetration testing there are again different levels. If you are running a website with SQL Server as the backend you can use
sqlmap for example which runs different SQLInjection attacks. Also you can use the
metasploit framework for even more attack techniques involving the network.
And then there are different tools that run automated brute-force attacks against SQL Server, which I won’t name specifically here. In the end penetration testing is a form of hacking, and I don’t like to advertise special techniques ;-)
If you want to get an idea of what kind of security exploits are possible on what layers, you can check out this list which I have on my site for my sessions on “Hacking
    SQL Server”:
    www.insidesql.org/blogs/andreaswolter/2013/07/security-session-sql-server-attack-ed
The majority of the attacks I do manually – there is not tool on the market that has every technique built-in. And since you want to make sure that your pen-test result are valid, you do not want to rely on just one arbitrary chosen tool
which may (and most probably will) miss a technique a skilled attacker knows. The least you want, is a
false feeling of security. On the other hand you will always have to live with some level of compromise – you just should know about it and have it documented and be ready to defend your approach.
PS: Ouch - What kind of an old thread have I just replied to .... why was it on top anyways??

  • IOS 5 workaround?? Neebie needs help testing a theory

Hello, please excuse my ignorance in advance, but I need help with the installation of iOS 5. I know coutless users have been having issues downloading iOS 5 since it's release however I'm glad to say that the download wasn't an issue with me. My problem is that the back up process was taking an insanely long time. So I saw a tweet this evening that suggested doing a restore on my iPhone 4 back to factory settings and then restoring it from a back up. Well I figured this could possibly work since I just backed up my phone a few days ago. When I did the restore back to factory settings iOS 5 was installed however my question is when I restore using the backup that I did a few days ago (which I am doing now) will my phone be rolled back to the iOS that I had installed previously or will iOS 5 remain?
    Thanks,
    Lee

  • Need Help on Real Application Testing (RAT) installation and configarations

    Hi Folks,
We are expecting an opportunity across RAT implementation in near future and our team is trying explore on RAT and need help in installation and configurations .Am looking for some RAT
    contacts ,please help me..
    Thanks,
    Jay.

    Q1
I have not had a space issue in the RAT capture files that caused a database issue when space ran out.
    Q2
You will miss anything you filtered the capture on, anything that errored during the capture
Capture will also not get and to be aware of
    Direct Path Load (SQL Loader)
    Shared server (Oracle MTS)
Oracle Streams & Advanced Replication Streams
    Non-PL/SQL based Advanced Queuing (AQ)
    Flashback queries
    OCI-based Object Navigation
    Non SQL-Based Object Access
Distributed transactions, remote describe/commit operations (will be replayed as local transactions)
    Q3
I typically use DB Replay for an overall work load perspective, SPA for SQL Level.
For example I will to a DB replay find from my reports SQL that needs a further look see and use SPA from there.
or potentially use SPA to focus on the SQL itself and not concern myself the the whole workload until I am ready.
    Q4
Set the SCN for when capture is started, have the replay database be recovered to that SCN prior to any replay operation. No real need to shutdown, done this many times with success.
    Q5
Typically I will filer any grid control agent or other agent software activities from the capture for sure.
    Q6
Your Capture Report does not show anything?
    Q7
You can extract and load AWR with the following packed procedures
    sys.dbms_swrf_internal.awr_extract
    sys.dbms_swrf_internal.awr_load

    Hi
    IDOC
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

    EDI
    Electronic Data Interchange
Cross-company exchange of electronic data (for example business documents) between domestic and international business partners who use a variety of hardware, software, and communication services. The data involved is formatted according to predefined standards. In addition to this, SAP ALE technology is available for data exchange within a company.

    EDI FLOW :
Here is some thing which helps you and here the purchase order is taken as example too..
Electronic Data Interchange, or EDI, is the electronic exchange of business data. Using a standard format, EDI provides a method of transmitting business data from one computer to another, without the need to re-key data. This electronic link can result in more effective business transactions. With EDI, paper documents such as invoices can be replaced with electronic transmissions, thus time is saved, and the potential for error is minimized. Data can be exchanged at any time. Related business expenses, such as postage, printing, phone calls, and handling, can also be significantly reduced. EDI can aid in the support of manufacturing efforts, such as Just-in-Time and Third Party Warehousing, and financial efforts, such as Electronic Payments.
What parts of the business cycle can be supported by EDI?
Any business documents that are currently exchanged using paper can be converted to an EDI. Standards. Standards include ANSI X12 and XML/EDI are primarily used in the United States, while EDIFACT is used in Europe and Asia.
    How does EDI get started?
EDI gets started when one company contacts another expressing interest in trading business documents electronically using Electronic Data Interchange. The two companies must first determine each other's EDI capabilities. If you do not already know your EDI capabilities, we have prepared a questionnaire to help you determine them. If you are already EDI capable, we will coordinate with your technical staff to determine a testing plan. Upon completion of testing the EDI documents, the appropriate business personnel will set a production start date to begin the exchange of EDI business data. If you are not EDI capable, we recommend you first obtain a commitment from your upper management. Your company will need to allocate resources and capital for software, hardware, testing, possible programming, and training.
What is the flow of EDI?
The flow of EDI depends on the sophistication of your systems and your EDI software. If you have internal purchasing/order entry systems, you will need interface programs that can extract and insert data out of and into these systems. EDI programs that interface with your internal systems are preferred over software that requires re-keying of data. Embassy Software specializes in seemless interface between EDI and your back office systems. Using a purchase order as an example of a business document your customer would send that PO electronically (850) to you. It could be sent either through a VAN (Value Added Network) or through an FTP server. You would take that 850 and convert it either into and ODBC database, a flat file or XML document to be imported into your Order System with the use of EDI Software such as PassportXchange.. Using EDI communication software, which is part of the PassportXchange package you would pull down data at set intervals from the VAN or FTP. These documents are then processed through EDI translation software and output to our order entry system. Finally, an EDI document called a functional acknowledgment (997) is sent to your customer.

  • Idoc material needed

    Hi
this is the first project iam going to work in idocs
can anybody please send me the materials
    step by step process.
my requirement is we are going to use outbound idoc for material master
(matmas05) and order 03.this are the tow main idocs we are going to use
how to transfer this to middle ware.

    Hi Arun,
    Check this info.
For more information in details on the same along with the examples can be viewed on:
    http://www.netweaverguru.com/EDI/HTML/IDocBook.htm#_Toc8400404

    http://www.sapgenie.com/sapedi/idoc_abap.htm
    http://www.erpgenie.com/sapedi/idoc_abap.htm
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30 )
    Create Message Type ( WE81 )
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82 )
    Creating a Segment
    Go to transaction code WE31
Enter the name for your segment type and click on the Create icon
    Type the short text
Enter the variable names and data elements
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type
    Go to transaction code WE81
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter
Click New Entries to create new Message Type
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
    Go to transaction code WE82
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter.
Click New Entries to create new Message Type.
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
    Check these out..

  • Need help with a currently "in-use" form we want to switch to Adobes hosting service

Hi, I am in desperate need of help with some issues concerning several forms which we currently use a paid third party (not Adobe) to host and "re-distribute through email"...Somehow I got charged $14.95 for YOUR service, (signed up for a trial, but never used it)..and now I am paying for a year of use of the similar service which Adobe is in control of.  I might want to port my form distribution through Adobe in the hopes of reducing the errors, problems and hassles my customers are experiencing when some of them push our  "submit button". (and I guess I am familiar with these somewhat from reading what IS available in here, and I also know that, Adobe is working to alleviate some of these " submit"  issues, so let's don't start by going backwards, here) I need solutions now for my issues or I can leave it as is, If Adobe's solution will be no better for my end users...
We used FormsCentral to code these forms and it works for the most part (if the end-user can co-operate, and thats iffy, sometimes), but I need help with how to make it go through your servers (and not the third party folks we use now), Not being cruel or racist here, but your over the phone "support techs" are about horrible & I cannot understand them or work with any of them, so I would definitely need someone who speaks English and can understand the nuances of programming these forms, to please contact me back. (Sorry, but both those attributes will be required to be able to help me, so, no "newbie-interns" or first week trainees are gonna cut it).... If you have anyone who fits the bill on those items and would be willing to help us, please contact me back at your earliest convenience. If we have to communicate here, I will do that & I can submit whatever we need to & to whoever we need to.
I need to get this right and working for the majority of my users and on any platform and OS.
You may certainly call me to talk about this, and I have given my number numerous times to your (expletive deleted) time wasting - recording message thingy. So, If it's not available look it up under [email protected]
(and you will probably get right to me, unlike my and I'm sure most other folks',  "Adobe phone-in experiences")
    Thank You,

Well, thanks for writing back...just so you know...I started using Adobe products in 1987, ...yeah...back then...like Illustrator 1 & 9" B&W Macs ...John Warnock's Helvetica's....stuff like that...8.5 x 11 LaserWriters...all that good stuff...I still have some of it working on a mac...much of it was stuff I bought. some stuff I did not...I'm not a big fan of this "cloud" thing Adobe has foisted upon the creatives of the world...which I'm sure you can tell...but the functionality and usefulness of your software can not be disputed, so feel free to do whatever we will continue to pay for, ...I am very impressed with CC PS on the 64 bit PC and perhaps I will end up paying you the stipend that you demand for the other services.
So  I guess that brings us to our problem.. a few years back and at the height of the recession and near bankruptcy myself,  I was damn lucky and hit on something and began a small arts and crafts supply service to sell my products online to a very "niche market" ...I had a unique product and still sell that product (plus others) online...My website is www.vinylcouture.com...Strange? Yes...but there is a market it seems, for everything now, and this is the market I service...Catagorically, these are 99%+ women that use these "adhesive, sticky backed vinyl products"  to make different "craft items" that are just way too various and numerous to go into... generally older women, women who are computer illiterate for the most part...and all this is irrelevant to my problem, but I want you to have every bit of background on this and especially the demographic we are dealing with, so we can get right to the meat of the problem.
OK...So about two years ago, I decided to offer a "plain sheet" product of a plain colored "stick back" vinyl... it is available in multiple quantities of packs ( like 5 pieces, 10 pieces, 15 pieces, in a packi  & so on)...and if you are still on my site.. go to any  "GO RIGHT TO OUR ORDER PAGE"  button, scroll down a little...and then to the "PLAIN VINYL" section...you will see the Weebly website order process.) You can back out from here, I think,..but, anyway this product is available in 63 colors + or - a few. So then the problem is,  how do they select their individual colors within that (whatever) pack?... .
So my initial idea was to enable a "selection form" for these "colors" that would be transmitted to me via email as 'part" of the "order process".. We tried getting our customers to submit a  " a list" ( something my competitiors still do, lol, poor bastards)......but that..is just unbelievable..I can't even begin to tell you what a freakin' nightmare that was...these people cannot even count to 10, much less any higher... figuring out what colors to list and send me... well, lets just say, it wasn't working......I had to figure out a better way...Something had to be done.
So after thinking this all out,  and yeah...due to my total ignorance, i figured that we could make a form with Live Cycle Designer (Now Forms Central)...(back then something that was bundled with Adobe Acrobat Pro), I believe, and thats what this thing was authored in... and it would be all good...LOL!
Well not so simple...as you well know, Adobe Acrobat would NOT LET YOU EMAIL anything from itself.....it just wouldn't work (and I know why, and all that hooey), but not being one to take NO for answer,.I started looking for a way to make my little gizmo work.. So I found this company that said they can "hijack" (re-direct actually) the request to email, bypass the wah-wah, and re-transmit it to the proper parties.....for less than $100 a year,  I think...its called http://pdf-fillableforms.com/.
A nice gentleman named Joseph Silva helped us program the thing to go to his servers and back out. Please dont hassle them...I need them...for now..it basically does work...try it...you should get back a copy of the form that you filled out...good luck however,  if you're on MAC OSX or similar...
I have included a copy of both of our forms (and feel free to fill it out and play with it)...just put test somewhere on it...(and you must include YOUR email or it will balk)..they are supposed to be mostly identical, except one seems to be twice as large....generating a 1.7 meg file upon submission, while the other one only generates a 600K file or so...thats another issue for another day or maybe you can advise on that also...
OK so far so good......In our shop, once Grandma buys a 10 pack (or whatever), Only then she gets to the link on her receipt page ro the relevant "selection form" ,(this prevents "Filling and Sending"  with "no order" and "no payment", another early problem we had)... which they can click on and it will usually download and open up on their device if all goes well...Then our little form is supposed to be fillable and is supposed to ADD UP all the quantities, so grandma knows how many she is buying and so forth right on the fly,  and even while she changes her mind..., and IT'S LARGE so grandma can see it, and then it TOTALS it all up for them, ( cause remember, they can NOT add)..,  except there is a programming bug (mouse-click should be a mouse-up probably or something..) which makes you click in the blank spaces to get to a correct TOTAL...about 70-80% of our customers can enable all these features and usually the process completes without problems for them especially on PC's running Windows OS and Acrobat Reader X or XI...at least for most... Unfortunately it is still not the "seamless process" I would like or had envisioned for the other folks out there that do have trouble using our form....  Many folks report to us the following issues that we know of.  First of all it takes too much time to load up...We know its HUGE...is there anyway that you can see, to streamline this thing? I would love for it to be more compact...this really helps on the phones and pads as I'm sure you well know.
Some just tell us,"it WON'T work"....I believe this is because they are totally out of it and dont even have Adobe Reader on their machine, & don't know how to get it ( yes, we provide the links).....or it's some ancient version....no one can stop this one...
It almost always generates some kind ( at least one time)  of "error message" which we do warn them about..., telling one,  basically that "Acrobat doesnt even like this happening at all, and it could be detrimental to ones computer files", blah-blah...(this freaks grandma out really bad)...& usually they end up not even trying to send it...  and then I get calls that even you wouldn't believe...& If they DO nut up and push the Red "Submit Form" button, it will usually send the thing to us (and also back to them at the "required email address" they furnished on the form, thats what the folks at the "fillable forms place" do) so, if it's performing it's functions, why it is having to complain?. What are we doing wrong?....and how can I fix it?...Will re-compiling it or saving it as a newer version of "FormsCentral" correct any of these problems ?
Ok, so that should keep you busy for a minute and we can start out with those problems...but the next thing is, how can I take advantage of YOUR re-direct & hosting services?, And will it get rid of the error messages, and the slowness, and the iOS incompatibilities ? (amazingly,  the last iOS Reader version worked almost OK.. but the newest version doesnt seem to work with my form on my iphone4)  If it will enable any version of the iOS to send my form correctly and more transparently, then it might be worth the money...$14.95 a MONTH you say. hmmmmm...Better be good.
Another problem is, that I really don't need 5000 forms a month submitted. I think its like 70-100 or less....Got any plans for that?  Maybe I'm just not BIG ENOUGH to use Adobe's services, however in this case, I really don't care whose I do use as long as the product works most correctly for my customers as well as us. Like I said, If I'm doing the best I can, I won't change anything, and still use the other third party, If Adobe has a better solution, then i'm all for that as well. In the meantime, Thanks for any help you can provide on this...
