IDVD 6 writes lead it, ejects disc, and says complete. whats wrong?

I am using iDVD 6, and am trying to burn a 112 min movie, that i ripped, using handbrake, from a previously burned home movie, but every time it gets to "Writing Lead In" it stops, ejects the disc and says complete.
I click the continue button and it says 'cleaning up' then stops working.
Whats wrong with iDVD? What can I do to fix the problem?
Also, I've had the same problem in the past, with other projects not related to this one.

DVD-R or +R or +/-RW ?
Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk ? (Other hard disks don't count at all)
*Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:*
• Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
• Hard disk is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
• Delete iDVD pref file - *or rather start a new user/account* - log into this and re-try
• Program miss-match: iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard
• Program miss-match: iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• Program miss-match: iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try
• Try a Cleaning CD/DVD that cleans the laser lens on the DVD burner/player
iDVD 6.0.4 and iDVD 7.0.1 are compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
iDVD pref file resides: Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences and is named:
com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
Last resort: from Craig: Solved the problem!! Finally!!
I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive,
emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize option
and I am up and running.

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

Hi, I came across the same problem and was not able to open any iCloud folders on Outlook, and iCloud was continusly asking to repair the iCloud Control Panel. Macbook Pro 2008 ejects disc and won't recognize external drive

My Macbook Pro 15in 2008 immediately ejects discs. I have tried opening and cleaning the drive, but no luck. I went on to connect my external drive, but when I insert the discs, they just spin for a moment, and then stop. This goes on indefinitely, and there is no way to eject the disc unless I hook the external drive to another computer. I tried resetting the PRAM, but no luck. I am running OS X 10.7

The exact same thing happened to my 2010 MacBook Pro today. Restarting with the "option" key held down, I get only 2 of the 3 options you listed in disk utilities ("disk0" and a subfolder of "disk0" labeled "Mac OS x Base system".

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

If you have important data that is still on the phone and you do not have a backup, and unable to do a backup, then try what I described earlier because the geniuses at the bar WILL NOT recover your data. I have Windows 7 on a Dell. Open and play iTunes in the compatability mode and use Windows XP (service pack 2). Disregard any messsages to disable the compability mode. This has worked for me. I have also reinstalled iTunes and played with burn speeds etc. These ideas did not work. Compatability mode works.

I am in school for web design, and i have got some programs from adobe creative suite 6. I had restore my computer to factory settings due to other issues. Your iPod shuffle has only 2GB capacity, so unless your iTunes music library is small, it is probably NOT syncing "all" of your music. It may not be syncing any songs... If you use automatic syncing, you may need to set up the shuffle's Music tab in iTunes.
Connect the shuffle and select it in iTunes. There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary). Select Music there. This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync the shuffle with songs. Sync Music is checkmarked forautomatic syncing.
If your entire iTunes music library can fit on the shuffle, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Create your selection of songs below. For example, if you want to keep it simple, create a new regular playlist in iTunes. Put ALL songs you want on the shuffle on that playlist. Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that new playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, your selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the shuffle, replacing its current content. Going forward, any library changes that are related to the Music tab settings sync automatically when you connect the shuffle, or when you click Sync. So, if there is a playlist with your shuffle's songs, you can just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes at the next opportunity.
