IH01 Transaction

Looking for suggestion to modify IH01 variant, Currently we have following variant combination (SAP_TCODE_IH01)
Functional location : Required field
Valid from : current date
Location Hierarchy : Check mark
Equipment installed : Uncheck
Equipment hierarchy : Uncheck
Expand Constrctn type: uncheck
BOM Explosion : Uncheck
Explosion of iBase : Uncheck
Permits : Check Mark
Deleted Object : check mark
Plant : No Value
BOM Application : INST
Group BOM : Uncheck
Only PM Assemblies :Uncheck
Only PM-Rel Items : check
As Graphic : Uncheck
Requirement is to check mark the following field
Equipment installed : check Mark
Equipment hierarchy : check Mark
To enable the above two fields system is restricting and looking for Functional location input . and creates error message " Fill in all required entry fields "

Since the field Functional Location is a mandatory field in the report, while saving the variant, you must have to enter some value in that field, other wise system doest not accept to save and produces the error message as mentioned above.
This field is mandatory (OBLIGATORY) from the program itself, so there is no option to change the field characteristic.
But at the time of using the variant after creation, you can change the value of Functional Location as required by you.

i have a problem..
today my co-worked asked me to find a way to make a layout in T IH01 which is the same for all the users who log in the system..
i explain:
i choose functional location
press F8 and see my functional location selected..
now i want to see other fields going to settings --> field selection.. and choose all the field i want..
now i have my custom layout for this standard transaction..
but i want to keep in that way also for the other profiles.. ( ex: i use prophile DEVELOP, i want to make the same for DEVELOP1, DEVELOP2 and so on...)
could you help?

Hi
Select the fields and Create /DEVELOP layout.
Save it by giving Standard namespace /DEVELOP.
Next save layout with /DEVELOP1, /DEVELOP2....
Repeat the above steps for the required times.
To Save the layout
Settings -> Layout -> Save As Variant.

Convert Tree output of IH01 transaction to simple ALV list output

Hi,
We have immediate requirement of changing the ALV TREE output of transaction IH01 to general ALV LIST display (with rows and columns) . To match with the requirement, I have to analyze the standard program first, copy the code to custom program and then do the changes which will consume lot of time.
Request your suggesttions if there are any simple ways to get the desired output so that i can quickly complete the development.

Hi,
ALV Tree uses a different class and added logic. What logic is common is fetching and building of internal tables from data perspective. You can re-use this logic by calling the subroutine in the program and passing required values. It would be fast but in this case would take a bit of time, as you still need to analyse the code to make sure everything is right.

PM Create Order tab is disable in IH01 transaction.

Hi Consultants,
I am facing a issue which is one of the user is not able to create Work order from IH01 t-code, where other users able to do so. I checked with security
but they are saying all roles and authorizations provided to the user. Even they compared the roles with the one who able to create the order from IH01 and found all same.
I tell Security guys to refresh the user roles, also copy the role of the user who can able to create the order to the effected user.They done both the things but problem still the same.
Is it anything related to Functional side.Is any point which I am missing while checking the issue.
Security guys also not able to find the solution. So please guys provide me any information on this. So that this can be resolved.
I am talking about the below mentioned screen shot. The screen is taken with my Id where I can able to create the same.

O/P format info req for an SAP standard reprot.---urget???

I need to change the O/P display format for the tocde IH01,its an SAP-standard report for PM,but displays the O/P in an different format,is there any way so that i can make it to ALV,or SAP list format.
I want to save the dat of O/P in an excel,but frm this O/Pi am unable to save the data in my way,it coming in an jumble way,so it will be only done if its displyed in SAP List or ALV,can tell me anyone,will this optoon is possible in this or not.

Standing order - Functional Location

Hi guys,
I have very simple question. What is a standing order for a functional location?
I currently have a requirement to automatically perform a goods issue movement 261(GI for order) and we are doing it by creating a characteristic field in the functional location.
We have a development that when a fuel consumption is done, the posting goes to the order it has saved as a characteristic.
However I went into the IH01 transaction and saw this Standing order field, and well if this field can work as an open order associated with a functional location then we wouldn't have any need for this development.
What is a standing order? Can we assign a standing order to a functional location so that it always posts material costs related to that functional location to it?

Its basically a Order to continuously collect costs for on-going work, instead of creating a separate work order for each activity.Its often used in Fleet process to collect fuel consumption costs, when there is a need to know , at any point of time the total fuel consumption cost by vehicle/location.
The standing order field in the FL or Equipment is generally used when you want to default the settlement rule for the order with this value(Auto generate), when this object is associated to the order.
You could use this field for identification of fuel consumption costs for the vehicle , just be sure that for other maintenance orders for this object the standing order is not provided as default value in settlement rule by accident.

Hello Rashmi,
this is a very good question and we all go through it when we first start with SAP PM. I believe that there might be different answers and different solutions to one given situation.
It is good to understand the basic use of the different SAP objects (although you could almost make any use of them, there are still some guidelines).
Functional locations should be used for objects which remain more static, like a building ... It also provides you with an hierarchical structure in its name, what is usefull to represent a geographical or logical organisation, or such upper levels. It provides you with a nice structure list through use of IH01 transaction. To that structure, you can attach materials boms and/or equipments.
Equipment and sub-equipment should be used for objects which can be installed and dismantled into/from functional locations, like a table in a buidling ... It provides you with the usage list which is able to track the changes you make on the equipment. Unlike the functional location, you do not visualize the structure in its name, but you can attach as many sub-equipments as you want below.
The subject is too vast to capture it all in a few sentences.
In your example, i would represent the CNC machines and press as functional locations (if you do not move them often) and related equipments as equipments and sub-equipments which you can install and dismantle into/from machines if this is part of your business process to do so. If not, then everything could simply be functional locations.

Transaction IH01 to support custom fields added to via enhancement ITOB0001

Hi,
Is there any easy way to modify the field selection/catelog in transaction IH01 to include Z fields that have beed added to functional locations table IFLOT via enhancement ITOB0001?
Is there an IMG activity, enhancement, user exit, BADI, etc that can be used to extend the ABAP list structure RIHIFLO and ultimately populate table TIH01 so these fields can be supported via standard PM reporting functionality (IH01).

That is simple, go to smod t.code and here press the f4 key on enhancement field then u will get the popup here u can enter the package name of VA01 and you will get the list of enhancements under sales order. so you can select which is your requirement related. ok !

Transfer data to sub equipments in transaction IH01

Gurus.
A question regarding...
...transfer data to sub equipments in transaction IH01.
If you save an equipment in IH01 the sub equipments also receive the same changes...
...but only for some data ?
I'm trying to get all the details how it works...
Seems like it is data in structure EQUI_INHER that can be transfered to sub-equipments...or ?
I have debugged program MIEQ0F90 and form equipment_save (line 458).
Are there any customizing regarding this data transfer ?
I also need to transfer equipment partner data to my sub equipments...
Can I do that from a badi or enhancement-spot ?

If you save an equipment in IH01 the sub equipments also receive the same changes...
...inherited from a functional location or superior equipment based on the "Data Origin".
You can check the "Data Origin" for every screen in an equipment from menu: Edit -> Data Origin
If individual maintained then these will not be updated when the field is changed at higher equipment level.
While installing equipment on functional location or superordinate equipment...
...you can click on the button "install with data transfer" and decide if you want the the data in the different fields to be inherited.
But I can not find any customizing or badi's that will give me the partners from the superordinate equipment's partner-profile.
Please advice.

Enhancement- adding new buttons in IH01

IH01: Search button not active

Hi PM Gurus,
I am working on technical upgrade from 46C to ECC6. I am facing a problem in IH01, after executing the transaction, search button (binocular) is not active. Can any one suggest me what may be the possible reason & how it has to be activated.

Hi Ashok,
I think, IH01 is the transaction code for the selection page ie editing the inputs... (function location structure), there we need not to search anything whereas we need to input the various selections. Thats is the reason sarch button is disabled....
Once u input the data and transact, the buttons wil be activtaed.
In case u are looking for searching something specific, pls do let me knwo.

IH01 u0096 variant needs to be deleted to restore added button functionality

Within the PM Structure Overview transaction IH01 output screen we have added a button Create Notification, clicking this button results in a PM Notification being created for the selected technical object (tx IW26).
Many users have created default selection variant to speed up the selection process. My dilemma is that intermittently and for no identifiable reason this Create Notification is being disabled (this is not a security issue). The only way to re-enable the Create Notification button is to delete the users selection variant and recreate it.
Can anyone cast some light on why only the Create Notification button we have added to the output screen is being disabled intermittently? Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution ?

OK. Talked to Apple support. Evidently this is a reported iTunes problem. When I spoke to the tech, he said that the short-term solution was to make sure I always had more than 1 playlist "in use". Yesterday, a new version of iTunes became available - so hopefully the problem is, or will be soon, fixed.

IH01 default screen variant for all users

Hi,
I want location hierarchy, equipment installed and BOM explosion checked in the transaction IH01 for all users. I can do this through a screen variant but the user will have to choose it every time he enters this transaction. Is there a way that the above fields default as checked everything a user enters the t-code? I looked for it in SPRO and could not find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if the variant you have created is the only one available then it will display to all the user,but the if some other variant is there with user name then it will be displayed for the user logged on .
only thing is don't authorize the user to create the variant
from SAP help:
Each user can also create their own selection screen. The selection screen defined by you is only then proposed by the system, if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under their user name.
If you want to define an individual selection screen for each user, and the user-specific selection screen should be proposed automatically when the report is called up, the name of the report variant must begin with U_USERNAME.
Maintenance of selection variants
When you execute the function, you reach the initial screen with all the selection fields. There you can define the standard selection screen. This selection screen is then always proposed if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under the name U_USERNAME.

IH01 Functional location structure list of orders

Hello experts,
Do you know how to change the variant when you want to select orders from IH01?
Example
you open IH01 and click somewher on the structure, then you click environment- orders. The system leads you to the selection screen "functional location structure list of orders" here some selection fields are already filled. Such as period and also the status of the orders has already a flag.
Do you know how to change this?
I already saved User variants --> this does not help and also a SAP_TCODE_IW39 Variant.
Do you know how to change the period of time for the selection?
