Image 3d movement

I have some images following each other around in a circular
motion. I want to add a Z dimension so that the images now follow
each other in an eliptical motion, but the images get smaller as
they move into the distance. How can I do this? Here is part of my
current code for the movement:
if gRotateR then
currentangle = currentangle + 2
sprite(me.spriteNum).locH = (sin((currentangle +
pOffset)/57.296) * circleradius) + circlecenter.locH
sprite(me.spriteNum).locV = (cos((currentangle +
pOffset)/57.296) * circleradius) + circlecenter.locV
end if

First, store sprite(me.spritenum) in a property and use that
property instead, so you don't have to keep writing that out:
my = sprite(me.spritenum)
Then add: * 0.5 after circleradius for the locV line, to
change from a circle to an elipse:
my.locV = (cos((currentangle + pOffset)/57.296) *
circleradius
* 0.5) + circlecenter.locV
Also, adjust the sprite's width and height based on a similar
equation to the one you use for your locV:
my.locZ = my.locV
zScale = 1/((-cos((currentangle + pOffset)/57.296) * 0.3)+1)
my.width = my.member.width * zScale
my.height = my.member.height * zScale
And finally you'll probably want to z-sort your sprites based
on their locv:
my.locZ = my.locV
Hope this helps!

    Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
    In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?

    Hi Kevin,
    I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
    You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

    Hi, Tom.
    FYI: You've not stated which of your listed Macs is having the problem. However, the following may help in any case:
    1. Did you install Front Row using the Front Row hack on a Mac that did not ship from the factory with Front Row installed? If so, See my "Uninstalling the Front Row hack" FAQ. This has been known to cause a variety of problems, including the menu bar (Clock, Spotlight) issues you noted.
    2. If you did not install the Front Row Hack, an incompatible or corrupted Startup or Login Item may be partly to blame for the problems with the menu bar. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
    3. As a general check, run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.

    Where does time machine store content that would be found in the Finder window under "All Images, All Movies, All Documents"? Also, I have many Garageband projects and mp3 files I can't find.

    Easiest way to find time machine files is to open up the folder or application(works for email and iphoto)  they were in - then click on time machine ICON or enter time machine from the time machine menu to go back through the files.

  • Image to move with keypad?

    How I get Image to move when I press x-key on keypad?

    That will not work. Why?Because you can't add key listeners to Images - as you could have easily found out if you had checked the API docs. It's like adding a key listener to a String. Both aren't designed to take key input. How about adding it to the component that is supposed to take the input instead?

  • Help - Clone causes image to move

    PSE 9
    When I move the clone stamp over the image it moves the whole image and shows a duplicate image beneath. This is a new problem as i have used this tool often.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    You probably have the Clone Source Overlay on.
    Most people set it to clipped so you can still see a preview of the clone source or you can turn it off.
    There is a button on the tool options bar to get to the clone source options:

  • How can I save the images and movies on a  external Disk from iphoto program, to protect the images when problems occur in the laptop,

    How can I save the images and movies on a  external Disk from iphoto program, to protect the images when problems occur in the laptop,

    Most Simple Back Up:
    Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
    Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
    If you want to back up the Photos only:
    Export them using the File -> Export command.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
    has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

  • Why doesn't Disk Utility allow me to select an image or movie to burn?

    Why doesn't Disk Utility allow me to select an image or movie to burn?  Everything is greyed out, even files.

    You cannot burn a movie with Disk utility - you need a burn application which will encode, author, and render the files so you will be able to watch the movie in any DVD player. There is iDVD (still available within the retail iLife 09 or 11 disks available at online resellers or ebay, amazon, etc), or Roxio Toast or Burn (free, but very basic), or google for others.

  • Sync image with movie hands movement.

    Hi!
    I have a video with a guy dancing . I would like to attach to his hand an image. How will I synchronize the image to move along his hand?
    Do I have to go frame by frame moving the image or there is a better way?
    Thank you

    Depending on your footage, you'll have better and faster result by using AE's matchmoving/tracking tools, that doing it by hand.
    Here are the docs on how to use these tools, and here is a quick search on community help that will point you to tutorials and extra info.

  • Is there a way to change or skew an image or movie file?

    Hi all,
    I posted something similar in the iMovie 11 forum. I was wondering if there is a way to skew an image or movie file? I want the two left corners smaller to give the illusion that it is turned (or in the Z=axis more)
    Thanks in advance

    You can't do it inside Keynote, but there's an app called Picturesque that can do it to images.
    http://www.acqualia.com/picturesque/
    I don't know a way to do it to video.

  • How do I let Google Image Search find my images and movie clips on my site?

    My website, hosted on .mac, has images (I'm just starting to add short movie clips) of my sculptures. If I do a Google Image Search of my name (david l phelps) or the name of the sculpture (for instance "pastoral dreamer") the search results show other sites that have my work on them, but not my site. I have no idea how to process the images (or movies) so Google can index them from my site.
    If anyone knows how to do this, or knows other forums or resources I can find this information please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

    You might need to add titles to your images post-processing.
    Search for
    alt=""
    Replace with
    alt="description or title of image"
    On my husband's photography bus. site I put keywords for our site in the alt tags, not specific titles for each image, so I can just do them all at once with MassReplaceIt.

  • FCP 4: NTSC monitor image FROZEN/movie plays JITTERY in canvas window.

    Hey guys. This started yesterday. Every time I hit play, the image from the frame I began playing at on the timeline remains frozen on my NTSC monitor, while the movie plays jittery, roughly, totally unsmoothly in the canvas window. I'm pretty sure I've tried all of Shane's answers, but right now I'm stuck. Any help is immensely appreciated.

    Shane's stock answers addresses this, but make sure
    that under the View mene that you are set to "All
    Frames" and not "Single Frame"
    Yeah, I had that covered from the beginning, but this sucker is stuck on whatever frame I begin to play from.

  • Why archive AVCHD as disk images, versus .MOV or .MP4?

    I get an interesting array of responses to this everywhere I ask...but most of all I'm curious about the opinions of folks who specifically use FCPX for editing, so I'd greatly value your feedback.
    Like many folks who have been shooting AVCHD for a while, I now have many years worth of footage from a variety of cameras stuffed into my backup/archive workflow. For all those years, I've been keeping perfect disk images (generally non-compressed, read-only .dmg files created in Disk Utility right off cards and cameras) of every single one of those AVCHD shoots. In the early days of the format, when support was far, far more twitchy and frustrating than it is today, I felt it made sense to have a little "healthy" paranoia.
    These days, however, I wonder if this isn't a colossal waste of time and storage space?
    Here's the thing about this method...nothing ever gets deleted. You end up sucking every little take, every borked shot, every mishap, into your diskspace, cloud storage, tape library, or whatever you use for archival, forever. When I stop to think objectively about this, it seems nuts. I mean, if I did this with photography, my photo library would be 2x to 3x its current size and full of garbage. It would also be hard to navigate, which come to think of it is a major annoyance with all my AVCHD disk images. I keep them well organized, but still, having to mount them to look through videos (and then having to climb down into the "STREAM" subfolder each and every time) feels like a hassle.
    I wonder if I should just go back, bust open those old disk images, use something like ClipWrap or Media Converter to repackage all those .MTS clips in something more portable (like Quicktime or MP4 containers) and just keep around the ones I actually want? There's no quality loss in doing so, and the video/audio content would continue to be usable in both FCPX and pretty much any modern multimedia software, right?
    My question is what, if any, good argument is there in 2012 for keeping complete disk images of AVCHD?

    Hi Neil,
    Sorry about all the frustration.
    Why does GB output an iMovie generated video podcast as .mov and Final Cut export to iPod as .m4v?
    I don't have the newest GarageBand, so can't really say. But I do know that Final Cut will export a movie in different formats. If you choose the default setting for the iPod, you will get a high quality file, but it will be HUGE! Takes a long time to download, and takes a lot of server space.
    This isn't too much of a concern if you have just a few movies and they are short, but if you make many long movies, it's a big problem. We produce a movie every week that's about 40-45 minutes long, so we use the QuickTime .mov as well as the MP4 export from Final Cut Express and encode them as H.264 using settings we've refined to make the file size small. Last week's 38:33 minute talk was 61.1 MB for our large 480x360 .mov video, and 35.5 MB for our 320x240 .mp4 videocast.
    The extension on a H.264 file could be .mov (our large video) or .mp4 (our videocast). .m4v can also be H.264 (the default iPod QT setting).
    The encoding (like H.264) is the most important part - you want to make something that looks good, sounds good, and streams well.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Page background images, songs, movies, don't publish

    I'm new to this. I've researched other threads here and cannot find this specifically. I was so proud. What beautiful pages I had created in iWeb and so sad to discover dot mac couldn't display them!
    My tinted page background images have never published. These files published into my hard drive folder but are not on iDisk. Songs appear with a tiny Q for Quicktime and a ? - files were dragged into iWeb from audio media browser. Larger Q with the movies. I have one large Movie 18.5, one smaller - 4.5 MB. It's cool if dot mac can't handle it, but perhaps they shouldn't promote that they can! I'm a huge Mac fan, but any tips or tricks before I attempt to cancel my dot mac purchase? I went back and changed all the background image file names. No luck. I am so hoping that I'm just doing something stupid. I signed up for dot mac to share my music and movie files. Help me make it work!
