Images being unloaded on mac? Kglad?

I have a site that dynamically loads images that are roughly 600 x 400 pixels. There are about 17 that are stacked on top of each other to form the "product" the user sees. As long as their are only 15 then the product looks fine. When the next image is loaded the first one disappears. Then the 17th is loaded the second one disappears. These images are using the blendmode overlay on the first image. This only happens on a mac in every browser, the pc browsers are fine. Is this a memory issue? Any thoughts on how to fix?

I'm guessing the images are pngs with transparency? Internally the flash player uses a hard-coded array to handle overlapping objects with transparency and anti-aliasing. You say you are only getting 15, but is there other stage placed art that has alpha? Those count too.
In any event it really sounds like you have run up against this problem.
I'm guessing that you aren't running into Flash player 7 on the Macs. But perhaps the different browser is using different embedding code and you have a different quality setting? You can try to set the quality to low and see if the items all remain. Yes it will look horrible, but since low won't be worrying about anti-aliasing the edges it won't turn-off your content and we will know what you are dealing with.
Also esdebon has a good point about. Things like this are usually a problem where the plugin has different versions, so it would be a good idea to check that.

One image for multiple Intel Macs

I am trying to find some reference to creating one universal NetInstall image so that older Intel based portable Macs will work with newer portable Macs.
In the past we've been using a 10.5 retail image and update it as Apple updates come out. However, I notice using this image on the newer Macs with multi-touch creates some weird glitches.
The computer is functional, but an example would be, open Sys Prefs, click on Keyboard and Mouse, then when you click Trackpad, the animated video should show the finger(s) moving in the gestures for the correct command.
Anyone know of a place for best practices to create a universal NetInstall image so that I don't have to deal with multiple architectures for different installs? Any help would be appreciated.

best practice is to use the latest and greatest mac youve got for building the master image. however occassionally theres an odd glitch because of differences between the mac used for building the master image and the mac its restored to.
i rarely build on the latest and greatest mac ive got instead i use the mac that the image is going to be restored to. for this method i need to build many images however the chance of encountering an odd glitch is reduced.

"File Being Used by MAC OS X..." HUH!!?

I had some .zip (created using the OSX Archive utility) files sent to my server from an outside client via AFP and when trying to open them it comes up with the following error: "Item <insert filename.zip here> is being used by MAC OS X and cannot be opened." What's that all about?
If I try to copy from the server to a local client via AFP I get the following error: "You may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item named <filename.zip>". If I enter a password, it copies the file but then the file will disappear like it's supposed to be a hidden system file. What's up??? Any ideas?
Also.. server is running 10.3.9 and local clients are on 10.3.4.

Ok, so I tried unzipping with Terminal and I get the following response:
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not

I know this is not the case in regards to the file. Help.

1. Cd wont eject, tried everything. 2 Item is being used by Mac osx.

Just before my cd refused to eject I ended up with two folders that have what I would call a biohazard logo on them (Three evenly parted triangles with all the points in the center). The cd that's stuck can be ejected from the desktop n finder, but won't dislodge from computer. So the computer thinks I keep putting it back in. There's another file with the same name as the cd in the tray. That item is apparently being used by Mac osx, and I can't do anything with it. This is all quite bizarre. Everything else works like lightning (downloads, apps, uploads etc.)

MP3 files being used by MAC OS X and cannot be opened?

I'm setting up my play lists in ITunes 7.0.2 on my Macbook and I started realizing a few songs where missing. The MP3 files are in my music folder but do not show up in ITunes. When I click on the in the music directory it gives me the following message in a pop up.
Item "name of song.MP3" is being used by MAC OS X and cannot be open.
Any clue what is going on? It's happened on several different songs so far. Thanks

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

I believe if you were to ask Adobe Support they would tell you that CS3 is no longer supported by their services, if that is what you are refering to when you say "being supported". That means they are not likely to offer assistance with you re-establishing it.
But you can probably re-establish it yourself. If you need to download it there is a place for that available:

Don't under any circumstances.
All images is not a file. It's not a place. It's a list. Specifically, it's the result of an instruction: List all the images on my machine.
When you delete something from All Images, then you have no idea what you're removing from where - files that are part of word processing docs, interface elements, corrupting your iPhoto Library. There are many perfectly legitimate reasons why you might have what appears to be duplicates but are not.
Rule number One: Never delete anything on your machine whose job you don't understand.

As for Aperture, you'll need to do a search on the support website yourself because the result is a download so I couldn't post a link - the instructions are in the user manual. I believe the settings are within Aperture's Preferences.
