Impdp error number of bytes exceeds limit of varchar2

Hi,
I have a problem migration data from one database with western Europe character set to a new database with UTF-8 charter set. I know that this has to do with some characters using more then one byte in UTF character database. But as I have one column varchar2 is configured with 4000 byte as limit and imp reports error as some rows exceeds 4000 and actual requirement is 4009 byte which is not possible as limit of varchar2 is 4000 byte.
I need to identify the rows that exceed 4000 byte.
Changing datatype is not an option.
Anyone have any ideas on how to identify the rows that exceeds 4000 bytes or anyone have a query that makes it possible to query existing environment with all rows above 3980 byte in this one column?

I haven't run csscan on this database but ofc on all others :)

    Hi,
    I am getting the error
    5200 : Error executing query. Exceed max row number 100000
    when I run the report on Financial Reporting. It gives the same error when run on Workspace.
    Have you guys encountered this error before? What are the best ways to tackle it? Help is much appreciated guys.

    Edit 1 - I tried to simplify the parameters but I still get the same error making me suspect that the issue is not the 100000 row issue.

  • SE30 - Unable to end the measurement (error number 5, Time limit reached)

    Hello there,
    I wish to perform a complete ABAP trace using SE30 for a program running for 4 hours. The system is R/3 4.6C.

    The ABAP trace results only managed to capture the first 45 minutes of the ABAP calls (due to timeout i think). Note that there is no ABAP error for the program I traced.

  • Limit on number of statements exceeded

    Hi Experts,
    He have done SAP Data archiving in a test server. The current ASP used is 88%. After delete job in DB12 it is showing 148 GB space. Now I want to reorganized the Table (COEP). But it is showing an error Limit on number of statements exceeded after sometime. How to resolve it?
    Asad

    Hi Asad,
    how large is COEP ?
    How many rows do your have in COEP ?
    How many rows are deleted in COEP ?
    How large is your ASP
    The ASP usage is 88%, isn't it ?
    You should keep in mind, that COEP gets copied with the new size temporary twice ...
    Therefore, it might become an issue ...
    I do hope, that you do have more tables with deleted rows .... then you might want to start the smaller ones first in order to get more free ...
    I suggest, that you install the CONTOOL with investigation for this in order to get a good overview on youur DASD usage ... you can download it for free at:

  • ORA-Error: Maximum number of Processes exceeds

    Hi,
    Today we got one Oracle error: Maximum number of Processes exceeds while connects to our Oracle Database.
    We have application running on our DB, which have 50 threads running and making connection to Oracle Schema.
    In our init.ora file the Processes Parameter is set to 50.
    But we also have another init<Schema Name>.ora file which has Processes Parameter as 50.
    When I search on this error, I got that it is due to no. of user processes on Oracle instance.
    What are these user processes exactly?
    If we set the Processes Parameter as 150, and we have RAC environment with 3 Cluster, does it means we have 150*3 processes can run at a time.
    The other doubt I have is that: Is this parameter is instance based, SID based or cluster based?
    Please provide some input on this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Manoj Macwan

    If you don't issue
    alter system set processes=150 scope=both sid='<your instance 1>'
    all instances will be allowed to fork 150 processes.

  • Total rowsize for table exceeds the maximum number of bytes per row (8060).

    I am trying to Creat a UserDefined Field in Marketig document OPOR Table through the script. then the warning  "Total rowsize for table exceeds the maximum number of bytes per row (8060). " is occuring ,and transcation rollback. how can i solve the problem.

    You have three ways to deal with this:
    1) make you user field smaller.
    2) check all other UDF in that table, and if you find one that your not using, delte it.
    3) Somebody told me that SQL Server 2005 will not have this problem. Maybe you can migrate.

  • Number of processes exceeds maximum limit

    Normally how many process we need to put in init.ora.
    My database currently has processes=100 so Obviously sessions=(100 X 1.1)+5=115.
    Some times we use to get Number of processes exceeds more than 100.
    What does it mean. What is the preferable value for processes.
    I have a thought to put Processes=300.
    Regards,
    Ganesh.

    Dear Ganesh,
    When you are getting the "Processes exceeded" error, your Oracle server is letting you know that the number of operating system processes has exceeded 100.
    Go ahead and set:
    processes = 250
    in your INIT.ORA file. You have to then shutdown and restart the database for the changes to take effect.
    Ciao.

  • Max. number of expressions exceeded

    I have a simple SQL to select data from a single table with a
    list of 1000 elements i.e. SELECT A FROM TABLE_A WHERE B IN (1,
    2, 3, ..., 1000). It worked fine. If I added one more i.e.
    WHERE B IN (1, 2, 3, ...., 1000, 1001), then I got error 1795 -
    Max number of expressions exceeded 254. I thought this error
    applies to the number of expressions. What I have was a list of
    values in a single expression -> B IN (1, 2, ...).
    I think the error message is misleading. If there is a limit of
    1000 elements in the IN expression, the error message should say
    so unlesss Oracle somehow formats the 1000 elements into 254
    expressions behind the scene.
    Any comments.
    Thanks.

  • ORA-19566: exceeded limit of 0 corrupt blocks

    Hi All,
    We have been encountering some issues with RMAN backup; it has been erroring out with same errors (max corrupt blocks). As of now, I ran the db verify for affected files and found that indexes are failing. When I tried to find out the indexes from extent views, I was unable to find it. Looks like these blocks are in free space as I found it and also the V$backup corruption view shows the logical corruption.

    Folks,
    Hello. I have installed PeopleTools 8.53 with Oracle Linux 5.10 successfully. The entire PeopleTools  runs correctly in browser at the beginning.
    After I set up HCM and Campus Solution 9.0 Database Instance named HRCS90 in Linux successfully, PeopleTools 8.53 Database Instance PT853 cannot be mounted. Its error message is below:

The initial value is 1021 and it works correctly at the beginning.  But after set up another instance HRCS90, the above error message comes up and instance PT853 cannot mounted. I change the value of db_files from 1021 to 1500 in the file initPT853.ora and restart OS Linux. But get the same error as below:

    As we see above, the instance HRCS90 works corretly and PT853 cannot start up. The parameter DB_FILES of the file initPT853.ora has an issue.
    My question is:
    Because 1021 and 1500 are not enough to startup instance PT853, what value should be used for DB_FILES of the file initPT853.ora  ?
    Thanks.

    Are you not using a spfile ? Does the file contain really the 3 values ? What is the last ? Have you checked the value in the database side "show parameter db_files" ?

    I'm sure, you don't have an issue with this parameter, 1500 files in the database is quite huge number. I built a demo recently, the default value 1021 was ok for me. You should have done something wrong somewhere.

  • Cloning problem:  ORA-00059: maximum number of DB_FILES exceeded

    Hi everyone!
    I'm trying to clone our data warehouse over an existing test instance, DMART01. Here's what I did:
    1. on the data warehouse - alter database backup controlfile to trace;
    2. edited the trace file to change the db name and path of the datafiles
    3. logon to sqlplus in DMART01 and run my altered trace file.

    Additional information - the data warehouse has an entire tablespace with many datafiles that I don't want in DMART01. I edited those datafile lines out of my trace file. Could some remnants of that be causing my problems? The DB_FILES parameter in the warehouse is set to 500. In DMART01 it's only 200. In the clone, I only want to bring over 61 datafiles. Besides, I thought that in the create controlfile statement would set the parameter, in this case to 500.
    I'm stumped. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I answered my own question. If anyone is curious, here's what I did:
    in DMART01
    1. startup nomount;
    2. create pfile from spfile;
    3. shutdown immediate;
    4. edited pfile to have dw_files=500
    5. startup nomount pfile=initDMART01.ora;

    Do you guys have any idea on how to solve this issue??
    Thanks in advance, Marc

    Hi,
    I am getting an error from the DBA Planning Calendar every time the job ...
    So when was your last successfull backup of this datafile. Check if still available.
    If this is some time ago, and may be you are currently without any backup, try to backup without rman at once,
    to have at least something to work with in case you get additional errors right now.
    Then you need to find out what object is affected. You are on the right way already. You need the statement,
    that goes to dba_extents to check what object the block belongs to.
    Has the DB been recovered recently, so the block might possibly belong to an index created with nologging ?
    (this could be the case on BW systems).
    If the last good backup of that file is still available and the redologs belonging to this backup up to current time are as well, you could try to recover that file. But I'd do this only after a good backup without rman and by not destroying the original file.
    If the last good backup was an rman backup, you can do a verify restore of that datafile in advance, to check if the corruption is really not inside the file to be restored.
    Check out the -w (verify) option of brrestore first, to understand how it works.
    (I am not sure it this is already available in version 7.00, may be you need to switch to 7.10 or 7.20)
    brrestore -c -m /oracle/SHD/sapdata4/sr3_16/sr3.data16  -b xxxxxxxx.ffr -w only_rmv
    You should do a dbv check of that file as well, to check if it gets more information. I.E if more blocks are
    affected. rman stops right after the first corruption, but usually you have a couple of those in line, esp. if these are
    zeroed ones. (This one would also work with version 7.00 brtools)
    brbackup -c -u / -t online -m /oracle/SHD/sapdata4/sr3_16/sr3.data16 -w only_dbv
    Good luck.
    Volker
