Implementation Class at Runtime....[OK....DON'T LOOK AT THIS..!!!!]

Hi ,
Is it possible to set the Implementation Class to a block item at runtime...?????
Thanks ,

Why do you want to do this?
I think forms likes to know about the beans at compile time.
You probably will need to define a form item for each bean, and use the appropriate bean?

  • Extending classes at runtime

    Hi,
    Is there a way to extend a class at runtime? What I'd like to do is the following:
    I want to have a tabbed pane component that does not stretch its tabs when there are several lines of tabs. The stretching of the tabs is implemented in the UI component of JTabbedPane - and this depends on the look & feel - it can be MetalTabbedPaneUI, WindowsTabbedPaneUI, etc.
    I want to extend the currently-used UI class (which is only known at runtime) with my own class that overrides a single method.
    I can extend all those that I currently know and use some mapping from the currently used class to the one extending it - but tomorrow someone may install a new look & feel which uses a different UI component, for which I will not have an extending class.
    Therefore, I'd like to find the currently used UI component class and extend it at runtime.
    Thanks,
    Shlomy

    Thanks. It's a good solution, but it requires me to write wrappers for all the public methods of BasicTabbedPaneUI, doesn't it? All I'm interested in is to override a single method. If there is no easier way, that's okay, but since there are scripting languages that interface with Java (e.g. BeanShell), in which I can extend classes, I thought there should be an easy way to extend a class at runtime.You don't write code that is "easy". You write code that is correct.
    If there are several different ways to write code which are all correct then you use other criteria to determine the best one. The first criteria is how much maintenance each would require. And how complex each solution would be. Complexity also impacts maintenance.
    And nothing I have seen in this thread would suggest that anything but a wrapper is a correct solution. Certainly unless you can demonstrate that it would not work then I doubt anything would be better.
    And using beanshell just so you don't have to type is definitely not the correct solution.

  • How to set property classes at runtime.

    Well, as the subject line says my question is plain and simple. I don't see any property for this in SET_ITEM_PROPERTY built-in.
    Currently a form has 10 subclassed blocks and views. These blocks have almost similar/definite number of items. At a time only one block with its canvas will be shown to the user. Instead of using so many sub-classed objects, I would like to use only one block and canvas. Now I am looking get getting just property classes from the 10 child forms, which I am looking forward to apply to the common block and items. Any other ideas for the same also appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Dynamic loading of a class at runtime with known inheritance

    Hi,
    I am trying to dynamically load a class during runtime where I know that the class implements a particular interface 'AInterface'. Also, this class may be linked to other classes in the same package as that class, with their implementations/extensions given in their particular definitions.
    The class is found by using a JFileChooser to select the class that implements 'AInterface', and loaded up.
    Because the name of the class can be practically anything, my current approach only works for certain classes under the package 'Foo' with classname 'Bar'. Some names have been changed to keep it abstract.
    private AInterface loadAInterface(URL url) throws Exception {
         URL[] urls = { url };
         // Create a new class loader with the directory
         URLClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
         // Load in the class
         Class<?> cls = cl.loadClass("Foo.Bar");
         return (AInterface) cls.newInstance();
    }As you can see, all that is being returned is the interface of the class so that the interface methods can be accessed. My problem is that I don't know what the class or package is called, I just know that the class implements AInterface. Also note that with this approach, the class itself isn't selected in the JFileChooser, rather the folder containing Foo/Bar.class is.

    Also note that with this approach, the class itself isn't selected in the JFileChooser, rather the folder containing Foo/Bar.class is.These two statements are mutually contradictory...My apologies, I worded that wrong. My current approach (the one given in the code) selects the root package folder. However, what I want to be able to do, is to simply select a single class file. The current code just makes some assumptions so that I can at least see results in the program.
    As you said, if the root of the package hierarchy is known, then this could be achieved. The problem is that the user either selects the package root or the AInterface class, but not both.
    Is there a way to get package details from a .class file to be used in the actual loading of the class?

  • Creating an instance of a class at runtime?

    Does anyone know how to create an instance of a class at RunTime? For example, I want to load classes from a JAR file at RunTime, and then create instances of certain classes of each JAR. I ask this because I do not see how to create an instance of one of those classes the traditional way, SomeClass var = new SomeClass(). I am pretty sure that someone out there has done this and succeeded in doing it. All of the post on this stuff only talk about loading the class from a JAR file, but I have already loaded them using URLClassLoaders findClass() method. I have also created an instance of the class that findClass() returns using newInstance(), but newInstance() returns an object of type Object. How can I convert this object to an object of type SomeClass? You cannot cast it because the compiler will complain due to the import statement issue. So if you cannot include the import statement because that classpath does not exist, then how the heck would you cast the newInstance() object into a SomeClass object?

    You can cast the returned object to the type you need...that is what I do in my applet. The trick is that you must get the instance of the applets class loader (or you get a classCastException). Pay attention to this line below - that's the real key here.
    "// Get a reference to the applets own classloader"
    protected CBaseQuestionnaireFile m_BaseObject = null;// declared up front
    m_BaseObject = loadAndRunClass("com.cpm.dataentry.questionnaire.CQuestionnaireFile");// fully qualified base object
    Here is the load and run method:
       CBaseQuestionnaireFile loadAndRunClass(String classname)
          com.cpm.common.base.CBaseQuestionnaireFile questBase = null;
          Class cClass = null;
          try

  • Is it possible to access elements of a view in implementation class?

    Hi,
            In the BSP component workbench, is it possible to manipulate elements of a view (listbox, inputfields etc., hardcoded using htmlb tags) in the methods of view implementation class. For example, I have a inputfield which is initially invisible. I want to make it visible when a particular event is triggered. I wish to code this directly in the event handler method. Can anybody provide some pointers?

    Arun,
    As the UI elements (tags) do only exist during rendering phase a direct access from the view controller is not possible - especially not in the forward-oriented way from within an event handler as  indicated from you in the posting.
    However, it is of course possible to hard-code view layouts; for this approach you can use the BSP view corresponding to the view and code there whatever you like. BSP views can also contain code snippets to achieve dynamic effects. In your example it doesn't look like that you need code at all - you need to preserve the status (visible/ invisible) in a value attribute of a context node and use this value to bind visibility of the input field on the layout.
    In CRM 2007, there are two main tag libraries (aka BSP extensions) being used:
    - THTMLB (single tags, like input field, button, table, ...)
    - CHTMLB (configuration tags; these are available for forms, tables and trees)
    You should always use these tag libraries in the first place to assure common look and feel and avoid rendering issues.
    Best regards
    Peter

  • Implementation class on a button (rollover)

    I am trying to change the image on a button when the mouse moves over it.
    The implementation class property on the button is simply MyClass.
    The java class file and both the alternative images are archived in a jar file and I have added the following lines to the base html file:
    <applet name="letter"
         code="MyClass.class"
         archive="jars\letter.jar"
         width=37
         height=37>
    <Param ....etc
    </applet>
    The jars directory is a subdirectory of the directory wherein the base html file resides.
    It doesn't work - the button is blank.
    If I put the above code straight into an html file with letter.jar in an appropriate subdirectory the image displays and changes OK.
    Is it the button property syntax that is wrong? Or is the jar file in the wrong directory?
    Thanks in advance for any hints.
    Regards,
    Pete

    It all depends on how the Button is reading the image - is it from the codebase or the documentbase?
    Have a look at the rollover button code in the 9i demos if you can (download from the OTN Forms Page). This looks in both places for the images.

  • How to implement classes and methods in badi's ?

    how to implement classes and methods in badi's? and where i have to write the code based on the requirement?can anyone explain me briefly?

    Hi
    Every BADI by default Implements an INTERFACE which already contains some methods with parameters.
    So you have to find the relavenet method based on the related paramters (by checking the fields in that paramters) you have to double click on the method and to write the code.
    see the doc
    DEFINING THE BADI
    1) execute Tcode SE18.
    2) Specify a definition Name : ZBADI_SPFLI
    3) Press create
    4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :
    multiple use.
    5) Choose the interface tab
    6) Specify interface name: ZIF_EX_BADI_SPFLI and save.
    7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,
    level, desc).
    Method level desc
    Linese;ection instance methos some desc
    8) place the cursor on the method name desc its parameters to define the interface.
    Parameter type refe field desc
    I_carrid import spfli-carrid some
    I_connid import spefi-connid some
    9) save , check and activate…adapter class proposed by system is
    ZCL_IM_IM_LINESEL is genereated.
    IMPLEMENTATION OF BADI DEFINITION
    1) EXECUTE tcode se18.choose menuitem create from the implementation menubar.
    2) Specify aname for implementation ZIM_LINESEL
    3) Specify short desc.
    4) Choose interface tab. System proposes a name fo the implementation class.
    ZCL_IM_IMLINESEL which is already generarted.
    5) Specify short desc for method
    6) Dbl clk on method to insert code..(check the code in “AAA”).
    7) Save , check and activate the code.

  • Does any one implemented solution for httpservlet request/response object in IWSDLInterceptor implemented class?

    I am trying to handle Producer not available situation in which I am using Interceptor IWSDLInterceptor in WLP 10.3.4. I am able to retrieve exception using onWSDLException but from here if I have to forward my pageURL object I need httpservlet request and response. I tried my own filter class to have its own customize request and also tried it out all other Interceptor to see if any one can handle IOException. I did manage to throw my own Customize exception but  that also did not work out as Page does not have any backing file or any supportive Controller class.
    Does any one implemented solution for httpservlet request/response object in IWSDLInterceptor implemented class? or do we have any specific documentation in regards to this? As I am not able to find much martial on IWSDLInterceptor except Java API from Oracle and article defining Two way SSL handshake Producer.
    Any kind of help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    PT

    Thanks Emmanuel for your response but render behavior is not available for IWSDLRequestContext/IWDSLResponseContext object which IWSDLInterceptor uses for implementation.
    Let me put my question in little simpler manner. May be my approach to the problem is not proper.
    Problem : Handle Producer Not available (no application exists on server) on consumer side.
    So far tried approach : Producer is not running then I am able to handle that TransportException at IInitCookieInterceptor/IHandleEventInterceptor onFault behaviour but in the case of Producer not even exists Consumer try to get WSDL fetch operation and failed with FileNotFoundException.
    To handle this exception, I used IWSDLInterceptor which is available under IWSDLInterceptor.OnWSDLException (Oracle Fusion Middleware Java API for Oracle WebLogic Portal)
    I am able to catch the exception but problem arise when application needs to forward at specific page/render portlet for this situation. For that it required request/response object but IWSDLInterceptor does not give any kind of instances to redirect request as there is no direct access to HTTPServlet request/response object.
    I tried my custom request object to use there. I tried out custom filter object of IWSDLrequestContext. nothing works.
    One approach works is to put producer WSDL file at consumer level. But in that, you need to handle different producer files for different environment. Which I don't think its a good approach.
    eAny one Let me know if my approach to the problem/scenario is wrong. Or if I am missing out any other supporting interface which also required to handle this scenario. or I am using wrong interface for this scenario.
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    PT.

    Hi,
    I haven't seen this behavior. My EJBs seem to redeploy and pick upthe

    this problem.
    What version of WLS?
    How are you deploying the EJB?

  • Preserving persistance implementing class id

    Hi,
    I was suggested by Adobe to preserve the persistance implementaton class id while splitting the CS4 project into model and ui plugin for CS5 or to give conversion provider if the persitant data format ge changed. But I have doubt what to do if a class which is UI related is conataing such implementation. Since, that Boss class including the aggregated interfaces and implementations will be moved into UI pluging which will be having a new implementation id based on the new plugin prefix id of the UI plugin.
    So how we can handle this case.
    Thanks a lot!

    For this scenario what you could do is split this boss class into two parts as i mentioned before. In the model you could place the following defenition
    Class
              kMyRevisionPrefPanelDialogBoss,
              kPrimaryResourcePanelWidgetBoss,
                   IID_ITABLECELLDATA,               kMyRevisionTableCellDataImpl,
    and the UI plugin will have the class decleration as
    Class
              kMyRevisionPrefPanelDialogBoss,
              kPrimaryResourcePanelWidgetBoss,
                                                 IID_IPANELCREATOR,               kMyRevisionPrfPanelCreatorImpl,
                                                 IID_IK2SERVICEPROVIDER,      kDialogPanelServiceImpl,
                                                 IID_IDIALOGCONTROLLER,        kMyRevisionPrefPanelControllerImpl,
                                                 IID_IOBSERVER,                        kMyRevisionPrefPanelObserverImpl,
    for this to work you will have to declare the ID of the UI plugin in the model plugin's id.h so that the we have the definition for the kMyRevisionPrefPanelDialogBoss, you would also need the declaration of the boss class kMyRevisionPrefPanelDialogBoss ID in the model plugin. Once this is done you can give the kMyRevisionTableCellDataImpl class your implementation with the model plugin ID. I think this should work fine. Let me know when your findings.
    Infact on second thoughts you could declare the boss class in the model plugin itself and include the model's ID.h in the UI plugin. The class definition in this case will also remain as i have exmplefied above. This should simplify the process.
    Anyhow i have a query what specifically are you trying to achieve using a persistent implementation in a UI boss class.

    I have created sample class using JDevStudio10.1.3
    Added method getX() throws Ex (Ex implements Exception)
    Select class and generated J2EE 1.4 RPC webservices
    Got the warning :
    Generating WSDL and mapping file
    WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: mypackage.Class3 and Interface: mypackage.MyWebService3. Impl class Method: X declares exceptions not declared by the interface (mypackage.Exp)
    Now When I generated client proxy from the wsdl generated, Ex class is not getting generated.
    Can some one help me please.
    Thanks in advance

    If you are using Ex in the implemetation class, make sure that you also include the same in the interface (or SEI).
    If the implementation looks something like:
    public void doSomething() throws Ex {
    System.out.println("Is there something to do, now ?");
    then the SEI should be:
    public void doSomething() throws Ex, RemoteException;
    If your have ommited Ex, then you will have the warning you are seing, and there wont be any artifact generated for Ex in the WSDL.
    Because the Ex exception was not mapped to any WSDL artifact, there is no way you will see the Ex exception generated on the client side (or proxy).
    I have been able to reproduce your error message, so you should be all good.
    WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: bugyyy.MyServiceImpl and Interface: bugyyy.MyWebService. Impl class Method: doSomething declares exceptions not declared by the interface (bugyyy.Ex)
    Hope this helps,
