Implementation work shop structure and questions

dear experts,
can some one get me detailed idea on the work shop structure before the blue print ?
what are the main activities need to covere ?
do some one have questions for the OM work shop ?
any high level diagram for OM process for reference ? any ppt ?
thanks and regards
chandra

In the workshop prior to the Bluerint you would need to cover the following points :
(Usually in the implemenatation projects the Core team is relatively new to Business process documentation )
1. identifying the list of business processes
2. identifying the person(s) responsible(functionally) for each business process
3. Breaking down the business process into business process steps.
4. The core team needs to be explicitly told that the same needs to be done irrespective of whether the step is in scope or not.
5. Drawing a flow chart based on the steps identified.
6. Ensuring that there are no open ends in the flow chart....i.e. every IF condition also has and else documentation/link
7. Start / end of process need to  be clear
8. Input and output needs to be identified.
9.Owners (individual) and Unit (Owner Department) at each step need to be identified.
10.Process steps and flow chart needs to be verified with the business process owner.
11. Most Important : the Core team should not make any assumptions from what experience they have earlier, but get the facts from the team.
To Cover the points above we had done a smilar exercise at one of our projects using a case study of a a process of hypothetical company gave the same to each participant of the workshop. We then asked them to write down the process steps. We then got them to discuss the process steps as two seperate teams and draw a flow chart. All the above points came out as learnings.
All the Core team members and Functional consultants were involved in the workshop along with a few steer. com members

  • Work Paths, selections, and general doing my job better question...

I currently work for a company that prints "Fathead" like wall graphics, i set the images up to print for them, but im looking for a better way to do what i do. Specifically my working with illustrator and Photoshop to setup the cut line for each image. Here is my current step by step procedure:
    1) Open image (usually a JPG) in Photoshop CS4
    2) Using mainly the Lasso tool's i select the subject to be printed. I'm very fast doing this.
    3) Copy/Paste the selection i just made into a new and save it as a TIF file.
    4) Back to the original selection i Smooth and Contract the line a few pixels and hit "Make Work Path"
    5) Export that path to illustrator (which leaves me with an .AI file)
    6) From here im done with Photoshop and i open both the .AI and TIF files into Adobe illustrator CS4
    7) The .AI file i give a stroke and then on the Swatches tab i hit New Swatch, name it "CutContour", and select Spot Color & RBG
    8) I then copy the CutContour line, paste it onto the TIF image, and line it up over the subject
    9) From here all that's left to do is make it the right size it's to be printed at and save it as an EPS file and im done.
The main reason im asking for help here is because I'm not happy with the quality of the cutline Photoshop exports to illustrator (the ai file) after i make it a work path. The anchor points and handle's are often in need of a lot of adjustment despite the fact that my selection in Photoshop was right on the money.
One side note that might be a direction for me to head in,...
I recently was given a jpg file from a guy who said he had already made the selection for me. I wasn't quite sure what he meant but when i saved the image as a tif, opened it in illustrator, and hit CTRL-A to select everything i noticed a cutline was already present. After further examination of the jpg in Photoshop i noticed a "Path 1" on the paths tab, and more importantly that cutline when opened in illustrator was nuts on! Meaning none of the anchor points and handle's needed to be adjusted at all.
Now the person who sent me this file was a customer so i can't rightly ask them how to better do my job :-) lol ...but maybe someone here can tell me how they (for lack of a better word) embedded a cutline or path i guess it's called into a jpg file like that? This would at least save me the step of exporting my selection to illustrator as an AI file and im wondering if however they did it is more accurate then the "Make Work Path" option i currently use.

...useing File | Export | Paths to Illustrator is what i outlined above that i currently do...
My apologies for not catching that. Honestly, my eyes glazed over at about step 2 of your procedure.
I'm not happy with the quality of the cutline Photoshop exports to illustrator (the ai file) after i make it a work path.
A couple of possibilities come to mind. What Tolerance value are you using when you first make a work path out of your selection in Photoshop? 0.5 pixel is the highest precision available, and that's what you should use if you want your path to accurately reflect your selection. Be warned, however, that your path will likely end up with a lot of points, making for an unnecessarily complex path. (Try it with a simple circle.)
Another possibility is that you're working with a low-quality, low-resolution JPEG as your source image. JPEG compression artifacts can affect selection accuracy (with automated tools, like the magic wand or eraser), and overall resolution, of course, will limit path precision. Not much you can do about that other than to start with better-quality images.
After further examination of the jpg in Photoshop i noticed a "Path 1" on the paths tab, and more importantly that cutline when opened in illustrator was nuts on!... maybe someone here can tell me how they (for lack of a better word) embedded a cutline or path i guess it's called into a jpg file like that?
Using a low tolerance (high precision) value make a path from your selection in Photoshop and save the path. Save As a JPG, and the path will be saved along with the image. Do not use Save for Web to create your JPG file.
As others have pointed out in earlier posts, learning to use the pen tool is your best bet... and an absolute necessity if you're going to be doing a lot of this stuff.
Regarding the creation of clipping paths in Photoshop, slap me silly, but I'm going to refer you to the manual (online Help) for that. And if you think that unkind, try posting the question over at the Photoshop forum. Wear a helmet.

  • Working with Pages and Word-questions!

NOTE: Sorry for the similarity of this to my post a few minutes ago titled "Which do I use, Pages or Word)? I learned some things through experimentation and have created subtler and more challenging questions for you.
Help me out here (please). I am now working with Pages, sharing documents with dozens of behind the times colleagues who are using some old program called "Word." It's my job to work with these people and I'm trying to make it as easy for everyone as possible.
Do I have this right? When I create a document (or open an old Word document into pages), in order to be able to share it with people, I save it, and check the box to save a copy in Word format. Then when I send my documents, it works like a charm. Yes?
If I start by opening a Word document, and every time I save I check "save copy to Word," I end up with only one document, no version in Pages. If I start with a Pages document, or save without checking the box, I end up with two separate versions of the document (like when I create a pdf)? It appears that if I I want to keep working in the Word format, every time I save it will give me a dialog box and make me check the box (and possibly select my location). This is cumbersome since I am now in the habit of saving often (you learn that when you work with Word for the Mac for any period of time--bomb, bomb, bomb). So, an I correct in assuming that if I want to save regularly, I really have to work in Pages, and then be scrupulous about saving into Word when I'm done for the day, or just before I send? It's sort of a pain in the butt, although I can learn to do it--I just want to make sure I'm not missing something here. Also, is there an autosave function so I don't have to rely on my discipline? Or does it never ever bomb?
What happens if I open the Word version and make changes to it? Do I have to do something differently to make sure I have both versions identical? Am I better off always to open the Pages document to work on, then save and send?
Do I always then have two versions of the same document (like I would if I did this same thing with pdf)?
How do I make sure that the Word version is always up to date since that is the one I am sending to colleagues? Do I always have to save and check the box, and then select the correct document to send?
I do see that when sending a single document I can easily send it while I am in the document itself. When I do this, selecting to send it as a Word document (or a pdf for that matter), will it send the version I most recently saved, or the version that is on my screen (if I forgot to save changes)?
FInally, I'd be open to any tips from people working regularly with others who must use Word. I want it to work as simply as possible, but want to set up some good habits from the beginning.
Finally, finally, have you had problems with compatibility. I have to say that there have been very few Word document yet that I've opened that I haven't gotten a message that says that Pages doesn't support some aspect of the document and formatting is removed, or spacing is different, etc. The most common is that "paragraph borders operate differently so all borders except outside borders have been removed." I'm a bit nervous about this--will I be getting documents from others that I can't trust? Will I have to ask them to send a pdf as well so I can confirm that I got it right? Can anyone ease my mind? Or am I living in reality?
    Thanks a million!

Well yes they are not the same program so there will be differences.
For example Pages only allows a border all the way around a paragraph with few options on the style of line, which is why you got the warning.
A workflow would consist of you doing your work in Pages however you like it and when you have finished and saved, making a Word copy which you despatch to your colleagues and then throw away.
Of course this is more cumbersome than sticking with MsWord which is another option. You choose. It comes down to whether or not you have to tightly conform and interact with Word users. Maybe Pages is not for you, or even NeoOfffice which is a clone of MsOffice.
Test it. If it works and you like it stick with whatever solution works for you.

I'm going to assume that since you deleted your hard drive and all its files, you had a backup, yes? If the backup has an OS (bootable clone), then you can boot into it by holding down the option key when you start up you iMac and choose the backup drive. Then use Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper to copy the files back to your iMac.

Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions.   I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1.  I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.

To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account.  To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Dm4-1060us laptop SD Card Reader 5-in-1 question. Does it work with SDHC and SDXC memory cards?

dm4-1060us laptop SD Card Reader 5-in-1 question. Does it work with SDHC and SDXC memory cards?

This cart reader is a kind of multi card reader and you can use different cards with it. In my opinion every multi device should be used very, but very gently. I do not know what happened exactly in your case but maybe you have damaged something inside.
Try to restart your notebook and use other SD card to check if everything works well. Please do it very gently and if you see something is wrong stop with inserting the card.
I use 1 GB SD card on my A200 without any problems.
In my opinion you should check notebook by technician.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Rule 168 to work with org structure and not relationships

    Hi,
I would like to use rule 168 to work with the organizartional structure and not the relationships maintained in PO10 organizational unit.
this is because i want the agent to be the person with the red hat and not the a002 relationship maintained in organizational unit. i tried using rule 157 but it does the same thing and determines agent based on relationships maintained in org unit.
basically i dont want the agent to be any of the line mangers which may have been set up, i want it to be the red hat of the org structure
does anyone know how i can do this, or will i need to delete the relationships between staffing?
    Thanks

i had this same doubt for a long time and i have my finds with me ie wa and structure are the same but wa can hold a single record but structure cannot hold data in it but according to the previous posts  folks  say structure too holds data as wa does but i guess when debugging wa holds data and structure doesnt hold bcoz i tried.

Most of the time when I turn on the Mac I get the white screen and question mark appear.  Sometimes it will turn on and work. But often the coloured spinning wheel starts up especially after trying to use iphoto it freezes and a couple of times the screen has then gone black.  The computer seemed pretty warm yesterday when this happened.

  • Adding Custom Field to Shopping Cart and PO, Classic Scenario

We are running SRM 7.0 with ECC 6.0 as the backend and using the Classic scenario. I want to add a custom field to the shopping cart and have the data transfer over to a custom field (of the same name) on the purchase order to the ECC side. I have already added the field to the shopping cart and have the data saving successfully there on the SRM side. What I am having trouble with is getting the data from the custom field to go over to ECC on the purchase order.
I have extended the Shopping Cart and Purchase Order item structures through configuration on SRM. This has added the fields to the INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC and INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_PO structures, as described in note 672960 (do i need to extend the PO structure on SRM if using the Classic scenario?). I have also extended the CI_EKPODB and CI_EKPODBX structures on ECC as described in note 458591. So the placeholders are there.
I feel like there must be something I am missing. The OSS note 458591 suggests that just adding the fields to the needed structures will cause the data to transfer, but this does not appear to be the case.
I have an implementation of BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW that I can use, but do not see where to add the data in the output parameters of that BADI. Is there a BADI I need to implement on the ECC side?
Any help in this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Dug around a little bit more and stumbled onto this article which solved it for me: [How to transfer custom fields from SRM to ECC|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20b36c12-685f-2c10-4fb4-ba2e0b969c27?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
In BADI BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW I had to add some code to fill in the CS_PO1_DOCUMENT-EXTENSIONIN parameter table with the structure for the BAPI_TE_MEPOITEM structure on the ECC side. The tricky part is creating a string representation of that structure with the correct offset. And it isn't as easy as just counting up the number of characters in SE12. For example, looking at my BAPI_TE_MEPOITEM structure in SE12, my custom field appears to start on character 157, but in reality, I had to offset the writing of my value to character 143. I guess it depends on what types are in there.
But once that gets figured out, it works well. As long as the custom field is added correctly to the CI_EKPODB append structure (which is appended to BAPI_TE_MEPOITEM), the data gets tranferred over in the ExtensionIn table, and SAP automatically knows what to do with the data as long as you have everything in ExtensionIn aligned correctly.
    Thanks for the help everyone!

  • To implement a hash structure for multidimensional data

    hi
I have to implement a hash structure (multidimensional data) i.e., like
a Grid file. I have to find data points in the given range of the grid file.
Any one could help me ....
    Thanks

    hello
Thanks for your quick reply and sorry for the bad
explanation. What I meant was a 2-dimensional graphI'm still not sure I know what you're after. I assume what you're saying here is that you have a collection of vertices and edges, and they all lie in the same plane. Is that right?
which was divided into some fragments. So, does this mean you have a collection of subgraphs of your main graph?
    We can insert
some points dynamically, based on their coordinate
axes, into one of the fragments. And here do you mean that you have some rule that allows you to add another vertex and associated edge list to a given fragment at runtime?
    >
It is similar to the implementation in the links that
    you had sent me.
Could you give me some outline to implement it ...I don't have enough information to do that.
You could define a data structure to represent one Vertex/Edge-List pair. But then, maybe you don't need to work with vertices so much as Edges? Then you could define a data structure to represent a Vertex, then another to represent an Edge, which would be two vertices. And you might want to think of your "main" Graph as a single entitity, in which case you will need a field to show what fragment this vertex (or edge) belongs to. But then it might make more sense to have seperate data structures for all fragments in which case you wouldn't.
Too many open questions. What, exactly, do you want to do with this thing?
    Good Luck
    Lee

  • Attenuation and Physical Structures and Obstructions

Hi, I am looking for any information on structures and obstructions and how they impede and attenuate signals from a Cisco AP. I am a student and I need to put together a proposal for setting up wireless in our cinder block university. We presently have wireless and are using Cisco AP's, but the project is to redesign it or better yet start from scratch. Is this information or any other additional information listed here or anywhere else that might help me? Thanks...

You're asking a pretty complex question, one that probably can't be thoroughly answered in the Cisco space provided.
About the best we can do is give you some "rules of thumb."
The reason is that there are just too many variables ... there are no easily predictable circumstances for any given scenario, aside from true line of site (If you can see it through an unobstructed path, you can PROBABLY (not always) connect to it).
"Not always" depends on things like interference (signal quality) and the transmit and receive characteristics of the AP/antenna(s) and the client/antenna(s) -- relating to signal strength.
If you search these Cisco wireless forums, the only consistent theme you'll find is that to cover an area properly, only a solid and comprehensive site survey can give you sufficient guidance.
Anything short of that is just a "good guess" and you'll either overspend and saturate the area (crappy network) or underspend and frustrate the end-users with weak or always-jumping-roaming connections (crappy system).
SO, given that you are a student, and you are tasked with improving the system with a "from scratch" implementation, ponder this approach:
    1) Survey the existing system. Get current application and "typical" traffic flows; This is the baseline you need to improve against.
    2) Query {whoever} and find out what the expansion plans are (application, type, traffic models, user density, etc). This should guide you to determine expansion options and designing a WLAN that can grow easily. You also need to determine the expectation of {whoever} in the WLAN performance and --> prioritize the needs and desires <--.
    3) Commission a site survey (or figure out how you'd do one that meets your needs for extra credit). you ***ALWAYS*** need a site survey, certainly for a project of this size and scope.
    4) Create you BOM (Bill of Materials) and price it out. Don't forget installation labor costs + fudge factor.
    5) Compare that to your budget. This is where the "Prioritize the needs and desires" come in. Frequently the budget is not quite big enough for the wants / desires / needs. You have to work with {whoever} and find out if they want to expand the budget, or cut back on some of the wants / desires / needs.
    6) Make sure the budget includes $$ for documentation. An undocumented network is a serious pain in the butt. It's hard to find, hard to fix, and makes everyone ... the users and the engineers that run it .. really frustrated.
    7) make sure the budget includes post-install testing and needs verification, compared to the original project plan. You have to have some way of identifying to the "customer" {whoever} that you have accomplished their desires completely and within the agreed budget (or have documentation as to WHY you didn't).
This is where you can compare the new network against the baseline from #1 above. If it's not better, either the old network was *really good* or your new network "needs some additional adjustments."
You should also plan on several return trips to monitor the network traffic for utilization, dead spots, "enhancements" at the hands of students, etc.
It is rare that an WLAN install and implementation (at least big ones) happen perfectly at the first whack. Usually there will be "several" return trips for adjustment of one sort or another.
    That's it for me
    Good Luck
    Scott

  • Back to My Mac not working-a diagnosis and a solution

    Hello all,
I own a small business and relied on Back to My Mac while traveling. I have had connection issues with BTMM since MobileMe was discontinued. I have found a solution but it is not an Apple solution. Skip to the end if you'd like the straight dope.
FYI: I have exhausted all possible Apple-centric solutions, to the best of my knowledge. This was verified over the phone during an extensive troubleshooting session with a senior Apple specialist. All Macs and OS involved are optimized (in theory) to work with Back to My Mac. The appropriate file sharing options were checked. Users had appropriate access privileges. I have a valid MobileMe ID that has transferred over smoothly to iCloud. Firewall settings were not the issue.
But before we go further, if you are having BTMM connectivity issues, you might want to examine this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4071540
And see if it does the trick for you. It seems to have worked for a lot of people. But if it doesn't, please read on.
I have an iMac at my office that I connect to. I have a MacBook that I use to make the remote connections. Before MobileMe was discontinued, I read all support docs on how to make the transition to iCloud. Nevertheless, once MobileMe was discontinued, I began to have BTMM connection issues. My Macbook could "see" my iMac, and vice versa, but once connection was attempted, either through "Share Screen" or "Connect As…",  the status bar would run indefinitely and no connection would complete.
First, I tried the Keychain solution indicated above. No dice.
Then I saw the System Preferences>iCloud message that Back to My Mac required NAT Port Mapping and/or Universal Plug and Play settings on my router. I have an old Linksys router, and I was able to upgrade its settings to UP&P, but not to NAT Port Mapping. The situation did not improve.
I went to an Apple Store, spoke with a pair of salespeople who informed me that the problem would most likely be solved by replacing my old router with Airport Extreme, which would automatically upgrade my network to the necessary UP&P and NAT-PM protocols, and if any issues existed after that, they would probably be firewall-related, which I could either fix on my own or talk to an Apple person about.
After installing Airport Extreme, the situation did not improve, and I called Apple Support. I entered the serial number into the web page, and was informed that I was not qualified for tech support because my warranty had expired, even though I had made the purchase the previous evening. I checked the option that indicated that I thought this was in error and that I was in fact qualified, and ten minutes later, I received a phone call from Apple.
At first, I was on the line with a Airport Extreme specialist, who ran down the Airport Utility checklist. With my wife at the Macbook at home, and myself in my office at the iMac and on the phone with the Apple specialist, the troubleshooting began. Once it was apparent that nothing was working, I was transferred to a "senior" specialist who indeed knew everything under the sun about networking and Back to My Mac, at least as far as I could tell. We checked various settings on all devices, Airport configurations, iCloud account validity, my network's firewall settings, etc.
Finally, the specialist suggested we check the settings on my home router, which was supplied by my ISP and not an Apple device. I asked him why. He said that if we enabled UP&P and NAT-PM on my home router, that would probably help make the connection. I informed him that while that might be a short-term fix, I travel as part of my job and need to make remote connections to my office, often from places where I have no control over the router settings. He informed me that because of those "variables" I might very well continue to experience connection issues, and that in some locations I would be able to connect, and some, not.
On the heels of all the time and money spent thus far, I was in disbelief. We spent some more time affirming beyond question that he was actually telling me what I thought he was telling me, and I cordially thanked him for his time and we ended the phone support session.
THE STRAIGHT DOPE: I learned from a senior Apple specialist that network and router settings not only have to be just right at the server location but *also* the remote location in order for Back to My Mac to work. Simply having an iCloud ID is not always enough. If you travel, you most likely have no control over router settings at your hotel, coffee shop, etc., and if you rely on remote connections as part of your job, you can't afford to take the chance that wherever you reside might not be BTMM compatible. I signed up for LogMeIn Pro, at a cost of $59.95 a year. It has screen sharing, file sharing *and* iPhone access, which BTMM does not offer. My remote connections are now almost instantaneous and without issue. Problem solved.
Please note, I have no ax to grind with Apple, I enjoy using their products and believe they are superior to Windows machines. I am also more than happy with the level of expertise, courtesy and efficiency of their support people. The Airport Extreme that I purchased is pretty cool, has kickass wireless signal, and has reduced the amount of wiring on my desk thanks to its wireless printing and hard drive capabilities. I feel a little burned that I bought it for no reason, but I have 14 days to return it, no questions asked. We'll see.
In conclusion, Back to My Mac does not seem to work as advertised. I am curious if anyone has had a similar experience. Hope this helps someone or at least, saves you some time.

Thanks for your thorough post. I too need to use BTMM on almost a daily basis for my job, and it has fallen short countlness times. I too have taken great pains to check all of the typical trouble shooting steps within iCloud and in the Apple keychain on each Mac etc, but after the latest rounds of system updates from Apple a few weeks ago to Mountain Lion, BTMM on one of my Macs is completely broken and unusable. I would concur that if you need remote access for "real" mission critical use, just bite the bullet and pay for a service like LogMeIn. You won't regret it and you will get real software support.

  • Fields missing in MPD report after change to structure and program

I have been working on a consistency report for transaction MPD.
I had created a structure in SE11 for handling the data.  it was all working, but then i had to go and change the name of the fields in the structure.  Now those fields are missing from the report.
When i step through the debugger, all the fields are being populated correctly, but these fields are not displayed on screen.  if i change the field names back in the structure and change the code for populating these fields, they appear okay.
i have created a custom implementation within BAdi MPD_WKB_REPORTING.
i have checked the config and it all points to my Z Structure and Z Table Type.  I have logged off and logged back on!  made sure my code is saved and activated...
any ideas on how i can display these new fields names/values?
Just for clarity, the field name has changed. not the linked data type.

thanks for your response, however those notes and program have not done anything to assist my issue.
i have found the anwser now!
within the BAdi was a method i had to amend:  IF_EX_MPD_WKB_REPORTING~GET_ALV_PARAMETERS
    all fixed now!

  • Need help understanding Time Capsule file structure and how to get it back

I have the original Time Capsule on which I backup both my Mac Pro and my wife’s Macbook. When Snow Leopard came out, I successfully used the ‘Restore from Time Machine’ feature on my Mac Pro so I know it has worked. However, my wife’s MacBook harddrive died the other day and I was trying to do the ‘Restore from Time Machine’ and all it would find was a backup from April (when I put her in a new larger drive). Time Machine would not find any backup files newer that April. She stated that she had seen the the Time Machine backup notices regularly and as recent as the day the haddrive died (Nov. 23) so I figured that I should have no problem. Here is what I have found in my trouble shooting and what leads to my questions below.
This is the file structure I found: (note that our ID’s are ‘Denise’ and ‘John’)
*Time Capsule* (the drive as listed in my Finder window sidebar under ‘shared’)
    >Folder called ‘Time Capsule’ (when logged in as either ‘Denise’ or ‘John’)
    >>Denise Sparsebundle
    >>>Backup of Denise’s iBook (mounted image)
    >>>>Folder called ‘Backups.backupdb’
    >>>>>Folder called ‘Denise’s iBook
    >>>>>>Single folder with old April backup (not the right files)
    >>John Sparsebundle
    >>>Backup of John’s Mac Pro (mounted image)
    >>>>Folder called ‘Backups.backupdb’
    >>>>>Folder called ‘John’s Mac Pro’
    >>>>>>Folders containing all my backup files
    >Folder Called ‘Denise’ (if logged as ‘Denise’)
    >>Denise’s Sparsebundle (a disk image)
    >>>Backup of Denise iBook (the mounted image. Name from old machine)
    >>>>Backups.Backupdb
    >>>>>Denise’s iBook (Contains the backup I need)
    >Folder Called ‘John’ (if logged in as ‘John’)
    >> (empty)
For some reason, my wife’s backup files are stored within a folder located at the top level of the Time Capsule drive called ‘Denise’, however, mine are within a folder called ‘Time Capsule’ which is at the same level as the ‘Denise’ folder.
For some reason, when trying to use Time Machine to recover, it bypasses the top level ‘Denise’ folder which contains the correct files and goes into the ‘Time Capsule’ folder and finds the outdated backup files.
I would assume that both my backup files and my wife’s should be at the same level of the Time Capsule.
I was eventually able to use Migration Assistant to recover the files after installing a fresh OS and mounting the correct Sparsebundle image.
So, my question, how do I get this fixed so that if I have to recover a drive with Time Capsule, it will find the correct files.
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help.

What I was trying to determine is why different backups for one particular machine are located at different file structure levels on my Time Capsule and why the most resent one for that machine is at a different level that for my other machine. Also, what is the correct level that both machines backups should be at.
well John, first can you clarify if you are on 10.4.8 as your profile suggests ? if so, i'm wondering how you can use TM at all because TM was introduced with Leo. if you're not on 10.4.8, please update your profile. if you could, please also indicate details of your machine such as available RAM, processor, etc.
second, what OS is your wife's machine running ?
third, i frankly don't know too much about TM's file structure or if there indeed is such a thing as the correct one. however, i do know that it is best to leave TM to do its thing (as long as it's working). FWIW, though off-topic, you may want to have a look at this read for further information.
last but not least, i see TM backups to my TC only as a part of my backup strategy. the backbone of my strategy is to create bootable clone of my startup disk(s) using e.g. Carbon Copy Cloner on a regular basis. while TM is capable of doing a full system restore, i don't trust it as much as a working clone. i use TM to retrieve a file i accidentally trashed a week ago but you cannot boot from a TM backup if your startup disk goes belly up.
If I have missed this information in either the FAQs or the Troubleshooting article, I would greatly appreciate being pointed to it .
i expect you didn't miss anything and i'm sorry you didn't find any help there. perhaps if Pondini (author of the FAQ and troubleshooting user tips) reads this thread, you will get the necessary advice on the file structure and more besides.
    good luck to you !
