Implementing Cross-Fading in Python Gstreamer (pygst)

I'm implementing a custom music player and wanted to know how I might implement cross-fading from one song to another from an arbitrary point in the first song to the start of the second song. Links or even approaches to doing this would be appreciated.

Has this problem come back? I'm using Blas and Lapack 3.3.1 but I'm getting the same error as the original poster meaning FOFIX won't start.

How do I get cross-fading to work on iPod? It works fine in iTunes.

I know in itunes playback it's simple to have the songs "cross fade" during playback, but does anyone know how to make this also happen when youre storing them as a playlist in your ipod so they will do the same cross fading upon playback? Or if this is even possible? Thanx so much

Have you tried resetting your iPod?
Hold down the Select (centre) and Menu buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
If that does not work you may need to restore the software on your iPod, follow the instructions here :-

Python + Gstreamer

I have been having trouble understanding / finding pygst docs, and I have run into some problems I can't figure out.
I use the following three lines to play a shout cast stream from a GUI:
self.player = gst.element_factory_make("playbin2", "player")
self.player.set_property("uri", "http://radioreddit.com:8000")
self.player.set_state(gst.STATE_PLAYING)
I then want to do 3 things:
1) Convert this stream to a .mp3. I can do this via bash like this (there could be a better way to do it):
gst-launch-0.10 uridecodebin uri=http://radioreddit.com:8000 ! audioconvert ! vorbisenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=stream.mp3
the problem is I don't know how to convert this to python. I want to be able to toggle record on and off, so if it didn't have to re-buffer every time that would be great.
2) I also want to be able to get the name of the mp3 file bing streamed. Again I can do this via bash like this:
gst-launch-0.10 souphttpsrc location=http://radioreddit.com:8000 iradio-mode=true ! icydemux ! fakesink -t | grep title:
again I can't figure out how to convert this to python and it would be nice not to have to rebuffer or have mutiple streams going at once to get this data.
3) Return the buffer %

Testworkbench (STWB) - Implementation cross-module test cases

Hi experts,
we want to use the SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) Testworkbench u2013 STWB u2013 for system testing.
However, we are faced with the problem to make cross-module test cases in the system. In our test cases are examined by different teams. For example, in a account booking on the modul MM also different teams involved, which are responsible for CO and FI.
Operationally in the test case is a kind of indicator/flag can be set that each team has already tested and thus immediately apparent which team must consider the test case yet.
First, i think on a workflow - but I do not know how to implement something in the test case or Tetsworkbench.
If you have any other or better ideas?

Anyone implemented "cross company stock in transit"?

Has anyone implemented the paper "How to report on Cross company stock in transit?" We're considering implementing the solution and just wondering if anyone else has done so and can offer any tips or suggestions?
We just realized that the 2LIS_03_BF extractor only accounts for stock in transit within the same company code (i.e. movement type 641) and does not consider stock in transit between different company codes (i.e. movement type 643). We receive the movements, but in stock balance reporting the cross-company stock is not considered in transit. This has suddenly become a huge issue for us as some of our major plants reside in different company codes than our warehouses do.
Also, it appears that this solution will show a snapshot of stock in transit, but will not allow one to go back and view the stock in transit as of a particular date. Just wondering if I'm reading this right?

How to i apply cross fading in adobe premiere elements 8?

Hi, i am using adobe premiere elements 8 and i would really like to know how to cross fade video like in windows movie maker. I have tried the cross dissolve and addictive dissolve as well as the fade in and out options and the even the opacity option, but its not getting the same result as windows movie maker. I really like the way the drag and drop option automatically cross fades the audio and video together and then you can drag it out or in, depending on how much you want to cross the 2 sections. Is there a way i can do this in adobe premiere elements 8?

I had not seen this 2010 thread before. Now when I do (2014), I believe that you are quite right to question what was written and the impression implied
the Cross Dissolve video transition and Cross Fade audio transition function exactly the same way in Premiere Elements as they do in MovieMaker.
Premiere Elements and Windows Movie Maker transitions do not "work" the same, at least in slideshow with photos.

This same decrease in total duration of the Timeline content can also be seen by addition of video clips and application of Crossfade video transition in Movie Maker.
What are you using as your Premiere Elements Cross Dissolve transition alignment? Try "Between Clips" if versions 11 or 12 OR "Center at Cut" for versions earlier than 11.

Cross Fading in flash?

Can anyone tell me how to cross fade images in flash? I am
trying to blend the images on about a 1/4 second cross fade?

yep, pretty speedy, but they do it alot faster than that 'as
seen on TV' ... lol. but how about using the tween class and
running the transitions both in and out at the same time.

Black frame flash when cross-fading still photographs

Hi, thanks for theuseful answers to questions. I have not seen this one, forgive me if it is somewhere. I am in iMovie HD 6.03 with a MacBook Pro.
When I cross-dissolve two still pictures ( with Ken Burns Effect on) I am left with a flash on the incoming picture, near the beginning. It is a black frame I can't remove, because doign so will un-render the dissolve! What a Catch 22, adn what a weird glitch!
I guess the frame comes in where the transition ends, but why would it do that? It is very evident when I play the series of crossfaded stills, it comes out as a big flash on each incoming pic. Does anyone have any workarounds or suggestions for applying the crossdissolve in a different way to avoid this? Or a cosmetic fix? Or maybe I just fade out and back in, what a drag for a whole bunch of pix.

Thanks for the welcome, Sue! I am indeed new, but not new to Macs and audio. But this is my first iMovie experience.
As to your answer, yes, I know I can delete the transition and re-apply, but when I reapply it, I still have the extra frame problem no matter what. ( I was trying to manually remove the extra black frame the transition left me with)
I am mainly wanting not get this black flash when I do a crossfade between two still pictures, or why I am getting it at all.
I want to use cross-dissolve transitions between the pictures, but can't get rid of the danged flash! thanks.

Turn off cross-fading?

Some songs work well with the cross-fade, but some songs should never fade out, and some should never fade in. Is there any way to tell iTunes "when shuffling, never fade into this song"?
I tried to submit this as a suggestion, but I see that the iTunes feedback page is now just for requesting music.

Sure (at the risk of stating the obvious)--turn off crossfading when in the shuffle mode. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.

Trying to implement cross-site cookies - 2 small problems

I am trying to track cookie across two of my domains. So when a user comes to www.windwardreports.com I not only create a cookie for that domain, but I also want to create the same cookie on windward.net.
So I created a servlet named track and in www.windwardreports.com/index.html I placed <img src=� http://store.windward.net/track/bitmap.gif?sourceid=12345�/>. (I do this using a javascript that does a document.write() as the sourceid value is unique for each contact.)
And in the servlet, my code is (image read removed):

If I do set that, then I have the same issue as problem 1 � it goes in dave@track[1].txt instead of dave@windward[1].txt.
Question: How do I get it to set these cookie values from a different domain under standard IE settings?

How to Maintain Surrogate Key Mapping (cross-reference) for Dimension Tables

What would be the best approach on ODI to implement the Surrogate Key Mapping Table on the STG layer according to Kimball's technique:
"Surrogate key mapping tables are designed to map natural keys from the disparate source systems to their master data warehouse surrogate key. Mapping tables are an efficient way to maintain surrogate keys in your data warehouse. These compact tables are designed for high-speed processing. Mapping tables contain only the most current value of a surrogate key— used to populate a dimension—and the natural key from the source system. Since the same dimension can have many sources, a mapping table contains a natural key column for each of its sources.
Mapping tables can be equally effective if they are stored in a database or on the file system. The advantage of using a database for mapping tables is that you can utilize the database sequence generator to create new surrogate keys. And also, when indexed properly, mapping tables in a database are very efficient during key value lookups."
We have a requirement to implement cross-reference mapping tables with Natural and Surrogate Keys for each dimension table. These mappings tables will be populated automatically (only inserts) during the E-LT execution, right after inserting into the dimension table.
Someone have any idea on how to implement this on ODI?

Hi,
first of all please avoid bolding something. After this according Kimball (if i remember well) is a 1:1 mapping, so no-surrogate key.
After that personally you could use Lookup Table

or make a simple outer join filtering by your "Active_Flag" column (remember that this filter need to be inside your outer join).

GL account determination for vendor invoice in cross company sale sales

we are planning to implement cross company sales scenario.
High level design-
1) Sales Order is in co code X and the delivery is from group company lets say co code Y
2) The delivery from co code Y generates two invoices- one in Sales area of co code X for the final customer and 2nd in sales area of co code Y for the inter company
3) The intercompany invoice has EDI output type (Sap standard delivered object is RD04). The output generates a IDOC which has ability to post automatic vendor invoice in co code X crediting the inter company vendor Y.
4) The automatic vendor invoice GL account determination is via customisation OBCB and OBCE
I have some questions around this , particularly if in the vendor invoice we have to account for material and returnable packaging
In my current project there would FG packed in returnable packaging in co code Y
For Export there would be a dedicated co code(X).
Co code X gets orders from customers; and creates sales orders in its sales area with delivery plant of co code Y.
Along with FG returnable packaging is also charged as deposit by - co code X to customer and Co code Y to Co code X.
so in the vendor invoice how to generate the following entry
Inter company vendor              150 Cr
Cost of Goods sold         100 Dr
Returnable Packages deposit    50 Dr.
Similarly when the end customer returns the packaging generate the following entry via the cross company return order and intercompany invoice
intercompany vendor 50 Dr
Returnable packages 50 Cr
if you have worked on this kind of scenario and share how to customise to post for FG and Returnable packaging separately in the automatic vendor invoice it would be great.

I'm seeing that via OBCB we can hit only one G/L account.
We also need to hit multiple accounts.
We've figured out how to hit this via user-exit, however I'm hoping that I've missed something in configuration and that a resolution via configuration is possible?

PROS:
Using the Webservices you can trigger the BPM Process and pass the values from the web dypro component which will available for the end user and pass it on to the BPM Proess.
We can use EJB as a webservice, where the automated activity in the BPM can output the value based on the logic in the EJB Function. We can manage the automated activity which runs in the back ground of the process as per our logic and returns the value to the next task.
CONS
Using Webservices in the various activity with fewer data is not advisable as it takes longer time to deploy the process. And any change in the data in the webservices requires regularly re importing of the web services.

Cross company sales with multiple operating concern

I'm going to implement cross company sales in a system that is already live.
I think that it really fit to the new requirement of the client , that want to allow the possibility of creating a sales order from sales organization A1 of company A, for the plant of company B (related to sales organization B1).
however the company A and B are also assigned to different controlling area and different operating concern.
It would be possible to have the cross company sales order in both operating concern? Or in which one I will have the sales order?

Inter Co sale will happen whether or not your comp code is assigned to separate Op concern or same
The sales order must be created by the selling entity
I would personally prefer Inter Co STO process if the material codes are same across the 2 companies involved here.. This STO can be raised by the Co who is receiving Sales order from the End Customer
