Import SQL
Hi to all,
I'm using SAP BOPC 7.5 SP5 on SQL 2008 (WEBSERVER + DBSERVER).
I'm trying to manage Import SQL Package but int returns me this error:

Hi Fabiola,
A Wiki topic was started on this here:
[http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CPM/ImportingdataintoBPCusingImportSQLDataManager+package].
I don't think it is finished yet but it is a good start.
Also look at [Note 1304267 - How to apply Import SQL package in customer appset|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1304267].
You can start looking at the package within BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) and you will need to remap the objects within the package before you can use it in your application.
Thanks,
John

Writing a stored procedure to import SQL Server table data into a Oracle table
Hello,
As a new DBA I have been tasked with writing a stored procedure to import SQL Server table data into an Oracle table. I have been given many suggestions on how to do it from SQL Server but I I just need to write a stored procedure to run it from the Oracle side. Suggestions/guidance on where to start would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I started to write it based on what I have but I know this is not correct :/
# Here is the select statement for the data source in SQL Server...
SELECT COMPANY
,CUSTOMER
,TRANS_TYPE
,INVOICE
,TRANS_DATE
,STATUS
,TRAN_AMT
,CREDIT_AMT
,APPLD_AMT
,ADJ_AMT
,TRANS_USER1
,PROCESS_LEVEL
,DESCRIPTION
,DUE_DATE
,OUR_DATE
,OUR_TIME
,PROCESS_FLAG
,ERROR_DESCRIPTION
FROM data_source_table_name
#It loads data into the table in Oracle....
Insert into oracle_destination_table_name (
COMPANY,
CUSTOMER,
TRANS_TYPE,
INVOICE,
TRANS_DATE,
STATUS,
TRANS_AMT,
CREDIT_AMT,
APPLD_AMT,
ADJ_AMT,
TRANS_USER1,
PROCESS_LEVEL,
DESCRIPTION,
DUE_DATE,
OUR_DATE,
OUR_TIME,
PROCESS_FLAG,
ERROR_DESCRIPTION)
END;CREATE TABLE statements would have been better as MS-SQL and Oracle don't have the same data types.
OUR_DATE, OUR_TIME will (most likely) be ONE column in Oracle.
DATABASE LINK
Personally, I'd just load the data over a database link:
insert into oracle_destination_table_name ( <column list> )
select ... <transform data here>
from data_source_table@mssql_db_link
As far as creating the database link from Oracle to MS-SQL ... that is for somebody else to answer.
(most likely you'll need to use an ODBC driver)
EXTERNAL TABLE
If the data from MS-SQL is in a CSV file, just use and external table.
same concept:
insert into oracle_destination_table_name ( <column list> )
select ... <transform data here>
from data_source_external_table

Need to add a filter to imported SQL
I used the File\Import-SQL menu option to import an existing query from another application. The query runs and creates a results table. I do not see an option in the Query\Request section to add a filter so that the user can select a range of values at runtime. I am using BI + Interactive Reporting Studio version 9.3.
The short answer is, "It can't be done."
Here's the JavaScript coder's answers.
You can add a result filter and provide dashboard controls to enable the user to enter or select values, then use scripting to modify the filter and navigate to the results.
You can provide dashboard controls to enable the user to enter or select values, then use scripting to modify the sql file, re-import it, then process the query. -

Importing SQL into Discoverer?
I've converted an Access application (35 tables and 150 queries) to Oracle. Is there any way to import or 'cut and paste' the SQL into Discoverer? I don't like to think I have to do each by hand.
In discoverer plus in file options you can see
Import Sql click this it will prompt you to give the name of sql file
here you can give the name of the sql file containing the sql query. -
Import SQL Table's Metadata Error for MySQL
I am following this blog by William Li.
SAP PI 7.1 Mapping Enhancements Series: Import SQL Table's Metadata - SAP PI 7.1 Mapping Enhancements Series: Import SQL Table's Metadata
I am using MySQL database instead.
Connection to the database is fine because we get to choose the tables in the schema.

Getting app-store-import-exception with FIM-MA Full Imports SQL Timeouts
Hi,
Any idea whats going on here? Full Import on FIM-MA leads to app-store-import-exception.
Here is a quick profile of the situation:
FIM Sync, FIM Service & FIM Portal all are instaled on the same machine with 24GB RAM hosted as a Virtual Machine.
FIM-MA Full Import leads to app-store-import-exception
Event log reports "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding"
Here is a screen shot: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?e5570db7f6.jpg
As you can see, FIM-MA imported close to 118500 objects before timing out.
Here are the things I have tried:
Extended FIM timeout on the services as per
Darryl's Blog
Provided FIM MA's password as per
Ahmed's suggestion
Restricted SQL Service Max RAM to 15 GB (Machine has 24GB) as per
David Lundell's suggestion
Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks,

Simplified Identity and Access ManagementThat is unusual. I suggest checking for database integrity and peforming index maintenance, on both the FIMService and FIMSync databases.
You could also increase the following timeout (see link below for more settings)
The values in Table 17 are located in the registry key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Synchronization Service.

Using the imported SQL Meta-data in PI 7.1
Hi Team,
We have successfully imported the SQL Table meta-data ( table structure ) in PI. However, we are unable to use the same structure below the 'access' node in the receiver JDBC structure.
Looking forward for your help.
Thank you,
Regards,
Rakesh.Do you need all the 200 fields value in your select query? If so you have to specify all of them under access node.
See below
<StatementName>
<dbTableName action=u201DSELECTu201D>
<table>realDbTableName</table>
<access> //note: specify below here all the 200 fields (if you need all of them here) if you need few then specify only those here.
<col1/>
<col2/>
<col3/>
</access>

<col2>val2old</col2>
<col4>val4</col4>
</key1>
<key2>
<col2>val2old2</col2>
</key2>
</dbTableName>
</StatementName>
Another option is
<StatementName>
<anyName action=u201D SQL_QUERYu201D | u201CSQL_DMLu201D>
<access> Select A,B,C .... 200 from tablename where id='blah'</access>

Data Modeler EA1: Importing SQL Server Data Dictionary issue
I am using the Data Dictionary Import Wizard to import the Schema of a SQL Server 2005 database (JDBC connection has "SQL Server 2005" as the Type) into the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. In step 4 of the import, under the "Import to:" section, there is only SQL Server 2000 available in the drop down.
Database Name: Microsoft SQL Server
Database Version 10.00.2531
I assumed that a SQL Server 2008 DB would be handled as a SQL Server 2005 DB (that is until 2008 is supported). Currently the db is not using any SQL Server 2008 specific features.
In Oracle Developer Data Model 2, the tables with xml data type would not import. This time, those tables did import. -
Errors while Importing SQL into Discoverer
Hi,
I am trying to import the following query in Discoverer and getting the error: "No appropriate join found in EUL (possible missing mandatory filter in SQL)". Can someone assist me with this....
select count(*),
a.resort,
b.some_date
from reservation a,
(select to_date('12/01/06','MM/DD/YY') + rownum - 1 some_date from contp where rownum <= 8) b

and decode(checkout_dt,null,depart_dt,checkout_dt) > b.some_date and res_typ in ('I','C','Z') group by a.resort, b.some_date
order by a.resort, b.some_date;
Thanks,
~KashI appreciate the solutions and here is what I have tried:
1) It does work in SQL (Toad)
2) I have refreshed all the Business Areas
3) I tried creating it internally in Discoverer but it seems complexed and dont how to
Here is another query that I was trying and getting the error "Attemp to Open Workbook failed":

and decode(res_checkout_dt,null,res_depart_dt,res_checkout_dt) > '01-DEC-06'
and res_typ in ('I','C','Z') group by resort, res_typ;

I want to import sql file but some recode i want to ignore it and go on
i have sql file it contine all data of anuther table i want to import this data
to new table but i want to ignore some record (don't insert it in table)Can you be a bit more precise. Is it an export of the table data which you now wish to import ( would be easier to have exported just the rows you required ).
If it is a text file you plan to import using sql loader then you could add a contraint on the database to discard those rows.
Alternatively you may need to have a holding table to delete the records not required before you add them to the new table. -
DB Adapter not importing SQL Svr tables
Hi,
Oracle Software:
OS: Windows
AS10g (10.1.2)
BPEL GA Release
10g DB (used for dehydration)
SQL Server:
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 (Intel X86) Dec 17 2002 14:22:05 Copyright (c) 1988-2003 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 4)
Issue:
BPEL DB adapter is not generating a list of tables to import from a SQL Server connection.
What I have done so far:
In JDev, create a new DB connection to connect to the SQL Server and it works fine. I am able to see all tablesn and views by expanding the connection.
In my BPEL partner link, I use the adapter wizard to select DB Adapter and then select the DB connection (SQL sver connection) I have created. All works well until I get to the import table screen where it does not generate a list of available tables to choose from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!Hmmm ... Just to understand your problem correctly:
- can you click on the "Import Tables" button successfully ? Meaning does this bring up another dialog titled "Import Tables" ?
- If yes, are you able to select the tables to import ?
- Subsequently, is the wizard not doing anything ? Is this right?
Regardless, it would also help to run jdev via the following command: $ORACLE_HOME\integration\jdev\jdev\bin\jdev.exe [instead of the windows shortcut - JDeveloper BPEL Designer - which uses jdevw.exe]. This should launch the jdev along with a DOS window where you can see any stack trace if any being dumped by the UI code. When doing the "Import", I am sure you will see some stack trace that you could post back to this thread which would help us debug this issue further.
Thanks.
