Importing a CS3 file to CS4 project with Sony EX1 xml offline media error

I'm importing CS3 projets into CS4 using Sony EX1 files.  In CS3, when you imported a folder containing EX1 HD files, both an XML and an MP4 file would pull into the bin, and if you brought the xml file onto the timeline, it would interpret and play.   In CS4, if the imported project contained references to the xml file, it displays the "Media Offline" thumbnail.   Is there a way to globally replace any reference to the xml file with the equiavlent mp4 file name?

You can't go backwards.  For the offline issue, try this:

How to import and edit a 3D video made with Sony HDR-TD10E camcorder, with .MVC file?
    I have PremierePro-CS5 installed.
This stereo 3D camcorder (Sony HDR-TD10E), output an .MVC (MultiViewCoding) file, coded in H.264 format.
This format is already compatible with Bluray3D stereoscopic format.
    1) But, how to edit the .MVC in Premiere?
    2) What plugin should I use (if exists) for PremiereProCS5?
    3) Cineform Neo3D, can manage the .MVC format? Can convert it to Cineform format file, for import it into Premiere?
    4) What software should I use to convert an .MVC video to an AVCHD H.264 file, and import it into PremierePro CS5 or CS5.5 for editing?
    Thanks!

Sorry, I am Italian, it is very difficult for me to understand what he says!
I can just read the english text, or follow the actions of a videotutorial!
Thus my question is the same:
    -What software can do that?
-Sony Vegas 10 do the Bluray3D authoring?
-For MVC editing, should I wait for Adobe CS6? Or is it planned an update for CS5.5?

  • How to import SQLite .db file from AIR project

    hi friends..
how to import SQLite.db file from AIR project. and i want use this in my application.
after importing can i update and delete the recordS?

There's no import needed. You just open it using the AIR SQL APIs. If this database file was created outside AIR, it's not necessarily compatible, though. There are SQLite features and extensions that aren't supported in AIR.

  • Editing Premiere cs4 project with premiere elements 9?

Can I open a premiere cs4 project with premiere elements 9 to edit it.
    Thanks in advance

You are most welcome, though it's probably not the answer that you wanted.
There are just so very many differences between the two programs. As a test recently, I took a PREL from PrE 8, IIRC, and it would not even open in my PrPro 2.0, like my simple PrE 4 Projects would. That PrE 8 test Project was also simple, with no Themes, or Instant Movies - just Cuts and some common Transitions, no Effects. Just too different to Open.
    Good luck,

I'm going to throw out a somewhat educated guess and say no.  Despite the similar monikers, Premiere Elements and Premiere Pro are two different programs.

  • After Effects CS4 won't import my .wmv files i've created with Pinnacle Studio 11

not sure if anyone else is having this problem... and i'm a complete newbie with this program. When i import videos from my collection (ones that i have not modified with any other program, or random ones i've collected from online: avi, mpgeg, wmv,... etc.) they import perfectly and can manipulate them.
however, if i try to import a file i have created using my Pinnacle Studio 11 program (which outputted my files in .wmv), CS$ immediately crashes and kicks me out. i would just like to know if i can fix this problem

    >i would just like to know if i can fix this problem
You don't use WMV. ;-) Simple as that. You should avoid working with compressed formats wherever you can, as they will further degenerate with every step of processing and successive compression. For your specific problem, you will have to provide much more info, e.g. a snapshot of the export settings or description of same. It's quite imaginable that your software embeds metadata AE does not know how to use or the files are being protected with a DRM key specific to the program. could also simply be a matter of data rates and number of streams.... Just too many possibilities and while it's certain that they all can be adjusted, without further details giving you blindfold advise will serve no purpose.

  • CS3 file crashing CS4 when trying to open

I have a CS3 file that I created on the Mac and when I try to open it on my PC in CS4 it crashes.  When I use an older version of the same FLA file it opens in CS4.  Are there known issues of things that cause a file to crash going from CS3 to CS4?

I believe I solved it. I fixed the issue through some combo of deleting all Palm files, reinstalling and overwriting the User data via my handheld. All was good with the world, and then it just happened again. I tried to launch the desktop software and just got the spinning beachball of death. I hadn't installed anything since I last successfully synched and opened the Palm software. But I remembered something...Prior to both of these incidents, I had done something different in my To Do list. When you open a To Do item, you can enter a primary category. I have all my To Dos associated with a category. But there is another category list to the right of the primary one. I have never used it before. But I was organizing some project work To Dos by associating them as a Primary category Projects and a secondary category with different names. This is helpful for creating views without cluttering my To Do categories unduly. EXCEPT...I think this is what somehow corrupted my file and caused the Desktop to hang. Each time we reinstalled and resynched from the handheld, it stripped out those secondary categories...and it works.

  • Opening CS3 file in CS4 - fonts wrong!

I have an FLA created in CS3 (Mac). It includes a couple of
fonts that were made into symbols. I'm both using those symbols to
set the font for dynamic text boxes on stage in various symbols (by
selecting the font-name-with-asterisk from the font menu), and in
    Actionscript to create text.
When I open the file in CS4, wherever I have used the menu
option (selecting the font with asterisk in its name), when I
select the box the font menu is showing a DIFFERENT font. And when
I publish none of that text shows up!
The font names with asterisks are still in the font list, but
now they're in a separate section separated by a line from the
    regular font list.
I'm not sure what to do - am I stuck using CS3 for the life
of this file? I'm not even sure how many text fields are in this
document, scattered among a number of symbols. If it was just a few
I could probably just manually re-select the font for each. I mean,
I assume I could do that...?
Is there a global find/replace option to fix this? Is this a
    known bug?
    - Bob

I'm sorry to say this, but you're stuck with CS3. This also

  • How can I import a .AVI file into my project?

I want to import a .AVI file into my video project but Final Cut Pro will not import it. Final Cut says the file is not recognized but it plays with Quicktime.

    Jamison S wrote:
    DJ OZA,
Do you get the warning "Media files are not optimized for FCP. Either recapture the media or use Media Manager to crate new copies of the files to improve performance for multi-stream playback."?
    What does this mean?
I can import and edit the files no problem either, except for that waring, which concerns me.
It means you will not be able to use the multiclip feature with these files because your Macintosh is working very hard to decode them on the fly. More than one stream will choke your machine.
Your AVIs are visible in FCP because you happen to have acquired an AVI file that uses a codec you have available on your machine.
AVI isn't even supported by Microsoft; it's been a totally concatenated delivery wrapper for more than a decade. It only survives because of entrenchment.
Use Get INfo on one of your AVI clips, figure out what codec was used, use Google to find out what you can about the codec, and decide how you want to proceed. You want to determine what your output is going to be and work backwards from that decision. For instance, if you're going to distribute a standard MPEG2 DVD, you want to edit using conventional DV. Transcode you AVI files to DV using Compressor.
Your easiest solution will be to edit on a PC that does handles the AVI natively or to contact whoever gae you the files and demand they provide you with clips you can edit on a Macintosh.

  • Importing a .psd file - getting weird effects with drop shadows!! HELP!

    Hi all,
I'm trying to import a psd file as my site and then animate each page.
I have each page set up as a different layer and am importing each page as a movie clip so  i can animate each one separately.
The problem is that i have some images on each page that have drop shadows ( i have flattened these in photoshop so there is no longer the blending options layers attached). When flash imports all the layers it obviously has all of them visible at the same time initially.
When i then go through and separate each page to show at different points in the timeline, the images with drop shadows are now showing the image that was underneath it on import, instead of the drop shadow. Difficult to explain, but if you imagine a page with a square in the middle. That square has a drop shadow along two edges which is a slight shading. On a different page (on the layer underneath) there is just a big image of the sea (could be anything). When i import them, the page with the square is sitting directly on top of the page with the image of the sea. I separate these in the timeline so they show at different points, but when it's just the page with the square showing (the page with the sea isn't showing at this point), instead of the nice shading for the drop shadow, in it's place is the thin part of the image of the sea that was initially under the shading for the drop shadow....
Can anyone suggest what is happening and why, and how to quickly fix it in Flash. It took me AGES to import the whole site and all the pages, but now all the movieclips are completely useless because all the drop shadows are messed up with the images that were importing underneath them???!
I'm in a real rush here too, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

How was the original art created? Was the original RGB or CMYK? What is the resolution of the Photoshop file? Flash only works well with RGB and 72 pixel per inch resolution. If your original art is not set this way, then Flash will attempt to convert it as it imports it. Flash uses the sRGB color space. You'll get the best color translation if your Photoshop file is using this color preference.

  • Cannot import a txt file in BPC7.5 with amounts containing ","

    Hello all,
When importing a txt file in BPC7.5 (through standard Import package)
with amounts containing format xxx, xxx, xxx.xx (where "," is the thousand separator and "." is the
decimal separator), the importlog file displays that everything is ok.
However, looking into the report, we see that the amounts are cut off by
    the first thousand separator.
for example: 3,096.54 has been imported in BPC7.5 as 3  !!!!
    OS : Windows Server 2008 R2(RTM)
    SQL : SQL Server 2008 R2
    BPC 7.5 SP4.
    - The formatting in my Excel 2007 is like this 3,096.54 (so three
thousand ninety six and 54 cents).
    - The amounts in the SQL table are not correct: in our example,
we see in the table 3 in stead of 3,096.54
    - My regional settings are indeed English (US) and my decimal separator
    is a point.
    - My delimiter is ";" (semi colon) in transformation file as well as in
    data file.
    Can anyone help me please.
    Best Regards,
    Jico

    Hello Jico,
I have exactly the same problem. It's not yet solved, but here are some steps I've already done.
When you open your transformationfile you use to import the data and when you "validate and process" it against the file you want to import, you can see a preview in "output log". Here you can see that automatically your separator (whatever it may be) has been replaced by "," (comma). Since the system uses the comma as column delimiter, I understand that the amount is being cut off at the first thousands separator (being a comma).
In order to solve this, I tried to use the parameter "OUTPUTDELIMITER" and set it to ";" (in the transformation file):
    OUTPUTDELIMITER=;
This forces the system to use ";" in the "output log". Now the system can not interpret the "," as a new column.
However when we execute the import, we get following error message:
Mapping error: The following doesn't exist in the data file header.[Measure field
I found something very similar about this error message on:
    Mapping Error : MEASURE FIELD
This thread is marked as answered, but it's not really telling what to do exactly...
    Best Regards,
    Jonathan

  • Cs3 file to cs4 - wont compile correctly

I'm currently in the process of an over-haul on my DeskTube
application. I opened the file in cs4 earlier, and attempted to
publish, well, it published but nothing works. Its almost as though
its not compiling the document class. Even a simple
trace('hello!'); at the top of the constructor doesn't display.
Anyone else having these problems??? Steps I should be taking??
    Thanks.

Ok, huge thanks to Nivesh Rajbhandari for helping me figure
this out. It turns out, the ComponentShim wasn't the correct one,
and was causing the compiler problem described above. It was a CS3
ComponentShim that wasn't compiling correctly in CS4. Is this
happening for everyone? I couldn't say, and would assume no since I
haven't come across the same issue other than a post on another
forum. So, all I had to do was create a new file, drag a component
onto the stage, and copy the ComponentShim from the "Component
Assets"-->"_private" into my older file, select "Replace" and it
    compiled like a champ.
    Thanks again!

My guess is that you are using the ObjectFile loader, which is for a (don't remember which application) object (.obj) file, rather than using a 3ds loader, which would be for loading a .3ds file.
You might want to go to this page: http://www.j3d.org/utilities/loaders.html and download the correct loader.
