Importing a Transport Set

We get the following error message (the log is clean up to that point) when we import a tranport set to our new machine.
It is a clean export from the target and I have gone through Oracles trouble shooting documents.

Hi Lax,
I have never seen this. Have you tried to get help from the Oracle Support Services via the Metalink website (http://metalink.oracle.com)?
It seems to me that there is an ORA-1403 somewhere due to a query being done by the Portal Export / Import. Oracle Support may try to help you a bit further and even they may try to reproduce your problem.
Also useful would be to say the Oracle Database version from both Source and Target Portal databases.
I hope it helps...
Cheers,
Pedro.

  • Problem in extracting from the import transport set

i am exporting all of the major page groups and providers from my source box to the target machine. both are using the same version database, app server and portal version 904.
for one of the biggest provider, i created transport sets in the export system, ran the script for NT to create a dump file. moved dump files to the import system, imported its transport set from this file. now i am trying to extract the imported transport set.
here i am facing problems one after the other.
    1. first is this that this extraction from the import transport set is costing too much time. more than 36 hours have already passed and it has not finished.
    2. it does seem to populate though as after several hours i see the log file with its lines showing a message like .... 'importing component ... so and so ... '. however, the whole process is not finishing or going fast. there is no other process running on this target box.
    3. and surprisingly, the log files update the start time of the script every few hours.
can somebody please help? this is a very time-sensitive request.
    thanks.

    Hi,
if i remember exactly i thought this error due to field selections in R/3 whatever the fields u have given in selection tab in rsa3 in ECC give the same selections while scheduling the infopackage than u can able to see the records in psa for full load.
after doing dis still problem persists revert me.

  • Import stops with 'Transport set created, exported, and submitted...'

    Hi,
I'm using Oracle Portal 10.1.4, and I've successfully imported page groups into this portal before, but now when I try to do an import, I only see the following message in the 'Browse Transport Sets' page:
Import: Transport set created, exported, and submitted to background process for import.
This is true for new page groups and for page groups that should be replaced. Any ideas?
What is the background process? How do I get it started, if it has failed? How can I remove the transport set that is in this 'Import' status. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    J.

    Hi J,
For me if this is happening is cause problably something hang on your side while doing the Portal Export / Import. Not sure how it happened but I've seen this happening for other persons. The easiest way is to clean up the Portal Transport Set tables. Upload the DMP to the Portal again and attempt to merge it again.
There is an out dated Note in the Metalink for this, but I'd basically submit a Service Request as Oracle Support may better help you on this matter and eventually update the old Note -- Note:177597.1 - How to clean up the Oracle Portal Transport Tables.
    I hope it helps...

  • Transport set import status is always = "MERGE" ...?

    Hi,
My transport set import status is always = "MERGE" in Portal and I cannot delete this transport set.
    What should I do ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Best Regards,
    Jean-Christophe AUDARD

    Hi!
The transport set status is MERGE when the import job has not been submitted to background. You might want to check your job_queue_processes parameter. The way to do this is
In SQL*Plus, simply perform the following query:
select name, value from v$parameter where name='job_queue_processes'
The value for job_queue_processes should be at least 2 to allow the execution of background jobs.
An alternative way of checking the job_queue_processes parameter is to simply examine the init.ora file in your database's ORACLE_HOME.

  • How to 'remove' a Transport set that has already been Imported

We need to clear out the old transport set and put in an entirely different on for the production go live.
    How do you remove/delete ?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
Not exactly sure what you wanna do... but here is what I've understood...
You can remove any old Transport Set in your Portal by going to the Browser Transport Sets within the Builder page over the Administer tab.
As to import a new Transport Set into the Production server, what I suggest is that you make a valid backup (so that in case you have any problem it is easier to revert back) and later on override it (or if it is a major change, it would be better to drop the Page Group and reimport it clean) or import it clean to your Production server. Validate all things... and that's it.
    I hope it helps...

  • Moving Transport Set from 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.0 environment

    Hi,
I am moving transport set from 9.0.4 environment to 10.1.2.0.0 environment.
But when I import it on 10.1.2.0.0 environment I get the compatibility error,
I am using imp.sh to import. Following error occurs when I try to import:
    Checking for Portal Version Compatibility...
Error: Source and Target Portals are of different versions
    Cannot proceed with Import
Could any one let me know, Is there any way to move the transport set from old version to the new one. Apart from upgrading the old one.
    -Santosh

    Santosh,
No, sorry but there isn't a supported way of doing this.
Oracle Portal only allows you to use the Portal Export / Import between the same level of patching. Trying possible workarounds will lead you in an unsupported state.
The only way as you've said is to upgrade your older version to the same level of the newly installed version, ie, bring your 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.x.
Metalink Note:263995.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Export / Import Issues may help you.

  • Portal Transport Set(EXPORT) script not running.

    Hi,
I have created a Instant portal(10 Appli Rel 2) which is on OS
    [SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586) VERSION = 9 ] .
Now I want to create transport set and want to export that instant portal to another
    SUSE LINUX server.
But the problem I am facing is that the script that is generating by the EXPORT WIZARD is
for UNIX which has .CSH extension.
So i am not able to rum that thing...as Linux use .SH .....can anyone help me to run that thing .......
    Thanx

DId you run the script to put the trasnport set ready for been include?
When you create a transport set, automaticaly you can get the dmp from it, but when you import it, you need to run the script that willmake a import in db level so you can import it in the portal, is like making two imports, one at portal, one at command line using the script, and you run it like script.cmd -mode import -s portalschema -c orcl -pu orcladmin -d filename.dmp where -mode indicate that is going to be an import, -c db SID name, -pu Portal User -d File created during export and -s db schema for portal.
    Hope this helps.
    Greetings

    Dear all,
I'm stuck with a transport set that is in status : "Migration In Progress"
First the db import stalled (no conspicuous lock in the db). All db objects had actually been correctly imported. I had to interrupt the import script.
I can't delete it wih the portal interface.
    Any idea ?

OK, I've just deleted the entry in WWUTL_EXPORT_IMPORT$ and dtarted again.

  • Transport Set Debugging Logs

    Hello,
According to Metalink Note 2166087.1 debugging can be enabled for Transport sets by editting utldbmgr.pks and setting DEBUG_MODE := true and then recompiling. I did this, but I don't see any additional information in the Logs shown in the Export/Import Transport Set Portlet. Are there other Logs somewhere else? The note doesn't specify where the debug logs are. Does debugging actually work for anyone?
I need debugging because I get a Precheck Warning for the Application and I cannot import the application but don't know why.
    Thanks.

    Hi Snigdha,
I checked that too but there I only got directory for old month but not for current month /usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/temp/pcd/transport/reports/Import/2011-02-02
Is that because I got "Access denied" for most of the object while importing ? but rest of the object status was "OK".
    Thanks,
    Saleem

  • ChaRM - Import of transports (urgent!!)

Ok, got a bit of an issue with the import of our transports - we are using ChaRM.
For our standard corrections, the following occurs:
Step 1 - Change Request is created and approved.
Step 2 - Change Document is created (ZDMJ)
Step 3 - Transport is created and task is released in SE10
Step 4 - ZDMJ is marked as In QAS
**At this point a TOC (Transport of copies) is created and automatically released**
Step 5 - The TOC is imported into QAS via the task list
Step 6 - ZDMJ is marked as QAS Test Successful
**At this point the original transport is released**
Step 7 - The original transport is imported into QAS via the task list
The above 7 steps are all working ok.  HOWEVER, this is where the annoying part occurs.  Lets just say that the ZDMJ is left as "QAS Test Successful" as no further actions are perfomed for a while.  In the mean time we then run an import to Pre Production (we have Dev>QAS>Pre Prod>Prod) via the tasklist (this is a job scheduled daily).
The original transport would then be picked up in this job and be imported to Pre Production (even though this doesn't match up with the status of the ZDMJ)!!  Then the task list is changed to "Go Live" and the import to Production is ran via the tasklist.
Once again, the original transport is then imported to Production (even though the Change Document in ChaRM still states QAS Test Successful)!!!!  The transport simply doesn't match up to the status of the ZDMJ.
Is this normal ChaRM funtionality or have we set something up incorrectly????
The way it's currently working is completely useless to us!!!!!!
Please help asap, REALLY appreciate it!!!!!
    Thanks
    Shaun

    So as it stands...
We can release the original transport at QAS test successful.  However, this means our TMS job will automatically import this to QAS, then PreProd, then Production (even though the ChaRM status won't match this).
    or
We can release the original transport at PreProd test successful.  This means it will automatically import to QAS, PreProd and Production at the correct time.  However, this means our 3rd tier (PreProd) is not being used at all as there is no transport being imported here for testing.
I also read the following: (from Transport of Copies (ToC): Small yet powerful concept)
Transport of copies option is available in each SAP system. This is a type of transport similar to customizing and workbench with its different behavior. Beauty with this type of transports is, it dies in the next target system. What does this mean??? Let's say I have three system landscape for my ECC system: DA1 -> QA1 -> PA1.
If you create a workbench request in DA1 system and release it, it goes to import buffer of QA1. Once imported in QA1, transport is now available in the import buffer of PA1 for import in PA1. But, if you create a Transport of Copy for the same transport in DA1 and release it, it will be in import queue of QA1. However, when you import this transport to QA1 it does not go to the import buffer of PA1.
Based on the above, it sounds like the TOC will only go to QAS (dies in target system).
Surely there's a way to get a TOC in PreProd?  Or is there a better means of doing what we want.
    Thanks again.

  • Error while importing a transport request

    Hi,
I installed two SAP ECC6 EHP6 IDES sytems and created a transport route between them.
When I try to import a Transport request I get the following error:
    HALT: inconsistent preview tables E071K_STR (size=344) and E071KS_PREVIEW (size=128)
Please help me find a solution to this problem.

    Hello Occoro,
There are multiple steps you need to do, I am not sure if the following note is applicable to your version of SAP.
1730009 - Import queue does not work
Downloading R3trans and tp is similar to downloading kernel.
Download the versions relevant to your SAP Kernel 7.20, the latest patch should be available at http://service.sap.com/swdc
In the same area where you get SAP Kernels, you should be able to get files such as:
    R3trans_xxx-xxxxxx.SAR
    tp_xxx-xxxx.SAR
Download these files, uncar them to your kernel directory typically /sapmnt/<SID>/exe
Refer to the following note for more details:
19466 - Downloading SAP kernel patches
    Good luck.

  • Error Importing a Transport in portal - Using custom role

I have a custom role “XYZ” which has a few worksets copied (as delta links) from the standard System Administration Role. These worksets include Transport, Portal Display and Monitoring.

(I went through a thread Portal role for transporting objects on SDN which discusses this scenario)
    2.     How should I check for additional authorizations required for Importing / Exporting Transport packages into portal. (without having assigned the super admin role or system admin role).</b>Thanks To all of you…
    Joan Thomas

    Thanks for the inputs.
    I have fixed the problem.
To assign content objects to a package, you need at least read permission for the objects to be assigned.
You can only import objects into the Portal Content Directory if you have read/write permission for each folder in the Portal Catalog where the imported objects will be stored.
To create a transport package in a certain folder of the Portal Catalog, you need read/write permission for this folder.
These 3 points helped me do the required.
