Probably be quicker if you use the camera's memory card and a USB card reader. Also saves batteries on your camera.

  • Is there a way to import photos from Canon Powershot S45 after downloading Yosemite?

Is there a way to import photos from a Canon Powershot S45 after downloading Yosemite?

I was reading another post yesterday about a Canon PowerShot S40 owner who previously used Image Capture to bring the images into the computer. They reached out to Canon and were returned a response stating that the drivers weren't compatible for OS X Yosemite. The best bet would be a card reader. The JPEG files are still going to be the same, but connecting with a USB cable directly to the camera isn't feasible any more. Head to the nearest Best Buy and pick up a USB card reader and you'll be able to see your pictures in Finder and can then import them to iPhoto or wherever you keep your pictures.

  • IPhoto not responding when importing photos from Canon Powershot SD450

Recently I have been unable to import photos from my camera. I can see the thumbprints but when I try to import iPhoto hangs and has to be force quit? I am able to take the SD Card and insert it into an SD card reader, so there is no problem with the SD card.
The following message appears in the Console log:
    10/28/08 1:56:53 PM iPhoto[61816] Error loading /Library/Contextual Menu Items/DocumentsToGoXCM.plugin/Contents/MacOS/DocumentsToGoXCM: dlopen(/Library/Contextual Menu Items/DocumentsToGoXCM.plugin/Contents/MacOS/DocumentsToGoXCM, 262): no suitable image found. Did find:

Anyone know if this DocumentsToGoXCM.plugin is related to the DocumentsToGo program for Palm PDAs (which I have)? And why would it be involved with iPhoto?

    Sure seems like it.
And why would it be involved with iPhoto?
    May not be.
I am able to take the SD Card and insert it into an SD card reader, so there is no problem with the SD card.
Can you import from it there?

  • Can not import photos from Canon camera to iphoto '11

When connecting my Canon to iphoto '11 I click on the "Import photos" button and get the following message:
    Unreadable files: 113
The following files could not be imported. The file is an unrecognized format.
This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I've done nothing different that I'm aware of. They are all jpegs.
    Any ideas?

I just had the same issue with an S-90 (I also have never had this problem before.) and had to use a card reader (my iMac has one built in) instead of importing through the camera.  The built-in card reader worked with no problem.

  • Trouble importing photos from Canon Power Shot SD1300

Until today, my family has had no difficulty importing photos into iPhoto from our Canon Power Shot SD1300 camera. But when I plugged in today to import the most recent few months of shots, the program would not accept the .jpg file format (or so the notice said). Similarly, Image Capture would not import the images.
I'm running iPhoto 8.1.2, Image Capture 6.0.1 on a MacBookPro6,2 with an Intel Core i5/2.4 GHz machine with OS X 10.6.8.
Why is this suddently not working? Did something happen with recent updates of software that screwed everything up? We've tried most of the sensible things from the camera end: deleting old photos so the memory card shouldn't be overloaded, recharging battery....
    What's next?
    TCC

Unfortunately, the iPhoto error message, which had something to do with "not recognizing the file type" or something (though they were listed as .jpg files) no longer shows up. Now iPhoto thinks there are no photos on the camera, though there are quite a few actually.
Image Capture recognizes that there are image files, but says, "Import Error. An error occurred while importing. 347 items were not imported." And then it begins with a list of the first files on the camera.

  • Can't import photos from Canon 7D after updating to Mavericks

I can no longer import photos or MOV's shot on my Canon 7D to iPhoto OR open them in Preview or Finder after upgrading to Mavericks. Can still import from my iPhone, and the same card and camera still work great on my iMac that I have yet to upgrade to Mavericks.
Ideas? Anyone else having this issue?
    Rob

    I can sudo reboot /shutdown
I tried several solutions on other threads nothing worked.

  • Problem Importing photos from Canon Rebel XTi -- Iphoto '08

When I plug in USB cord to camera and MacBook, then turn on my Canon Rebel XTi, iPhoto opens up but will not read the CF card. The status light on the camera just blinks red as if it working on it but it never does show the photos in iPhoto08 and the camera doesn't show up on the sidebar either although it used to but doesn't anymore.
I know that my CF card is ok because when I use it in my Canon Powershot S400 it works fine, and I'm able to import photos fine.
    Help please?

Thanks, I'm fairly certain that WILL work since the card works with iPhoto in my other camera fine.
I don't have a card reader and I'd like to figure out how to fix the problem I have with my Rebel XTi. Any suggestions on that?

  • Error importing photos from Canon G10

I am using Iphoto 08 from one year, I import thousands of photos from my Canon G10 without problem until today.
I imported 25 pictures from different dates, the first import was perfect, the second appears in the beginning and not in the end according to date and when I click in the event I can not see the pictures, an exclamation black symbol appears.
I also tried to move my pictures using finder and I could not.
    Please HELP!

Your database file has been corrupted.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
    Regards

  • Importing Photos From PC To My Camera Roll

    Ok here is my problem.
I had an iPhone with 16GB storage, and at some point, I had to delete some photos to free some storage.
Of course I have taken them to my PC.
Now I have bought a new iPhone with a 32GB storage, so I wanted to return my backed up photos back to my iPhone.
The only way i found to return them back (with the chronological order of date taken) is to sync these photos with iTunes.
But when I tried to use the new iCloud Photo Library, it gave me a message that it will delete the synched photos with iTunes.
I have tried some apps to import photos to my Camera Roll (like Documents), but unfortunately it imported the photos but without reordering them with the date they have been taken.
I know it is a ridiculous problem, but I do want to import the photos with the chronological order.
    HELP!!

Do not enable iCloud Photo library, it is different. Just connect iPhone to PC, Open iTunes - Photos - then select the path where the photos are saved and sync. All photos should get synced. Hope it solved your problem.

  • Unable to import photos from Canon 7d

    Using Lightroom 4 [814577]
on a Mac (with 16Gb memory)
    Mac OS Lion 10.7
When I plug in my Canon 7d and click import, I see a preview of my photos. However, when I then try to import, I get the message "no photos were found to import"
I have the latest firmware on my 7d.
I have tried using a different CF card.
    None of this has helped.
I can import via the EOS utlity; but I should be able to do this directly from my camera.
    Any help/suggestion greatly appreciated.
    Bob

    Use a card reader.

  • IPhoto 6.0.5 + Mac OS 10.4.8 won't import photo from Canon 350D

    Hello,
I am using a Canon 350D and iPhoto since 18 months. Since my latest set of upgrades, iPhoto opens correctly when I plug my camera in but the Import process is not starting.
I upgraded simultanously Mac OS X to 10.4.8 and iPhoto to 6.0.5 (316) I am therefore not sure what caused the problem, one thing is sure, before my upgrades, everthing was OK.
Fortunately, I have an external card reader, which is correctly recognized and allows to import my pictures.
Any other users having the same problem ?
    Any tips ?
    Thanks
    Seb

    You're not alone.
I had to buy a card reader yesterday. This is obviously a 10.4.8 / 6.0.5 issue.

  • Importing photos from Canon PowerShot A710

I'm using iPhoto for the first time and can't import the pictures on my Canon PowerShot A710 digital camera. Is this camera incompatible with iPhoto?

Are you shooting JPEG? If so every camera is supported
are you shooting RAW - if so RAW is unique to each camera and then only these cameras are currently supported - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1475

  • Importing photos from Canon 5D MK III

Just needing a little help. I have a new Canon 5D Mk III and ever since getting it I can not import the photos onto any software on my imac. I am trying to import them using the cable. I have tried through LR4 and the preview pictures come up with whats on my memory card but during the import mode it just freezes and then I get this message:
I have tried through Iphoto and the same thing happens and also through the Canon Software and the same thing happens. I have updated everything on my imac so I am running the latest versions of everything.
I have even tried using a card reader and it seemed to work fine the first time but now Im getting the same issues as above.
The strange thing is that it works fine on my partners macbook pro.
If anyone has any idea what could be cause this I would love to know!
    Thanks

What year, screen size, CPU speed and amount of RAM installed in your iMac?
What version of OS X are you using/running?
What about using OS X's image capture app?

  • Importing photos from Canon Powershot SX10IS

I know there is an issue with Canons Camera Window software and OS X 10.6.2, but I have a strange thing going on. I have an old Canon A530 and when attached to my Mac it opens Camera Window just fine and downloads with no problem. Does anyone know why this works, but when I attach my SX10IS I get the message "Failed to initialize program."
