Importing problem - Squares after track titles.

Whenever I try importing my (rather extensive) music folder into iTunes, I get squares after all the track titles. It imports those onto my iPod as well. It's hard to explain, so here is a picture

Not all SWF files will successfully import as movie files. How are you setting up your Flash project? Have you ever had this workflow be successful before? Did you try turning your SWF into a FLV file? If you can get your fine to work the first time (last bullet point) why not render it out with an alpha chanel so you don't have to mess with SWF files in the rest of your workflow. That's what I would do.

  • Import problem to after effects from hp t200 digital camcorder

Ok here is the problem, I just bought a hp t200 digital camcorder for filming and when i take video and try to import i get this error msg from quick time and after effects:
quick time: The document “[ I keep changing it differently but it's always the same no matter what i put ]” could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands.
(I can't seem to make it work no matter what I do)
after effects: After effects error " file name " cannot be opened, it may be in an unsupported format. ( 86 :: 1 )
I need this fixed because I am going to be making a found footage film and I am going tobe putting effects in this (duh) and it would be most appreciated  to have an answer please.

This sounds like Quicktime is missing the codec in which your camera records.  Since few people have every camera model and their codecs memorized, you'll need to identify it.

  • Import CD Track Title to iTune

Finally I fixed the problem of not able to import audio CD to iTune by changing the registry. There still remain the problem of not being able to import the track title. I used iTune in Windows XP. Can anybody help?

Be careful when you reinstall the iTunes. Sometimes, you can't get the iTunes back. I mean, you can't reinstall it back and you will get some errors with the installation.

  • I have a password problem. After importing data and settings from one MacBook Pro to a new one, I have to put my iCloud password in when re-starting, but the password from the old computer in when waking the computer from sleep.

I have a password problem. After importing data and settings from one MacBook Pro to a new one, I have to put my iCloud password in when re-starting the new computer, but the password from the old computer in when waking the computer from sleep. I want to use my iCloud password on both computers consistently. How can I fix this?

The only other place to change a password for the computer login is in Users & Groups preferences. But I don't really know enough here to fix your problem. You can try fixing the keychain:
iCloud- Frequently asked questions about iCloud Keychain
    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.

  • TS1362 I am having trouble playing imported cds.  The tracks keep sticking which is a bit like buffering is this a common problem and can i rectify it.

Being new to the iphone I am having trouble listening to imported cds.  The tracks keep sticking a bit like buffering.  Is this a common problem and can it be solved just by addressing a general buffering problem which I already have on youtube but have not rectified as yet.
    Thanks Kaz T

If <alanfromnewtownards> fix fails to address the issue - turn off iMessage and Facetime in Settings.  Settings\iMessage, and Settings\facetime.
    Sync by cable to iTunes.
Leave cable connected, open Settings\iCloud and ensure at least Mail is on and dsplays your Apple iD email -  then turn iMessage and Facetime back on.  Ensure that in the ISettings...\iMessage...\Facetime page that the Receive at field and Receive video calls at email address is the same address as your Apple I.D.
    Resync when finished.
If still having problems with Facetime then check that the required port is open - allowing traffic in your router.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629
In some cases you may need to turn on Port forwarding and open the port manually to allow traffic through.  See your router documentation for details.
If having problems verifying, open iTunes store App on your pad.  at bottom of page, click on your ID and sign in. Go to your Account details (re-veryfying and answering security questions may be required to do this) - check all details are correct.
Finally right click your device icon in iTunes and select Reset warnings.  resync when finished.

When I try and open my original catalog, I get the following error:
Lightroom encountered an error when reading from the preview cache and needs to quit.
Lightroom will attempt to fix this error the next time it launches.

  • I have problems in after effects to import caps 3d generated in Photoshop,

Good days, at present I have a complete package of cs6.
With this package of cs6 I have problems in after effects to import caps 3d generated in Photoshop, the message is " not available: Live photoshop 3d ".
    Who is the best sulución?

After Effects does not import live Photoshop 3D objects.
As Mylenium says, you need to use Cinema 4D (included with After Effects CC), Invigorator, Element 3D, or some other plug-in or application to bring 3D items into After Effects.

  • After upgrading to LR 4.4 having import problems from 5DMKII

I'm unable to import raw image files from 5DMKII after upgrading to LR 4.4. Using an iMac OS 10.6.8. No error message, importing just stops after a few files have been imported. First it imported 2 files, then 9, then 11, before it stalls. No error message or pinwheel icon. I tried re-installing 4.4 twice with no change. My laptop, a Macbook Pro same system, running LR 4.3 can successfully import the same files using the same card reader and cable. Any ideas?
    Thanks

If you are using the option to automatically start LR to begin importing, turn that off, and try starting up the import from the memory card manually.
Next, try copying a batch of raw files to a temporary location on the internal HD and importing from the temporary location to the normal location using the Copy import method.
Next, try copying another batch of files to their ultimate destination using Finder and then use the Add import method.
This will help determine if it is a USB/Card-import issues or a 5D.2 raw issue that causes the lockup.

  • Lose of audio after a title

I had a problem with a DVD that I ended up working around, but I wonder if anyone has a suggestion for why it happened.
I imported an iMovie into iDVD without a hitch, and then burned it to a DVD-R. The movie played just fine until it came to a title that I had inserted in the middle of it. After that title appeared, there was no more audio track. Underlying music tracks still played but not the audio from the original clip. When I went back to the project in iDVD and previewed it, it played just fine all the way through. In the end, I removed the title, burned onto a DVD again and the problem was solved.
But if I want to use titles again in the future, any ideas what may have caused this glitch?

  • Making a magic iMovie not magical. Having import problems

Everytime I start the import process of "making a magic iMovie", the import process will stop after inconsistent periods of time. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes. I've only had one 60 min tape import completely without interruption. I've changed firewire ports, opened Garageband and played a few notes, run mac sweeper. Nothing seems to work. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I too am experiencing the same problem. I have never been able to import a complete 60 min tape.
Last time I tried I had roughly 20 minutes of footage with no gaps in the timecode and the import process stoppped after 4 minutes with a brief message "No Device Control". The camcorder kept on playing but the import process stopped and iMovie continued to makes titles and add transitions as if there were no more video.
Does anyone know what might corrupt or interrupt the firewire device control?
I'm using a Canon ZR40 camcorder. I have 3 firewire external hard drives daisy chained to one of the firewire ports. Footage is being captured to one of the external drives.
The other port is used to connect the camcorder.

  • Modified Track Titles Revert back to Original Titles

    Purchase Track in iTunes
Modify the title to something else
    Observed Bug:
Modified Track Titles revert back to the original Title after time. Playing the track or requesting track info will reset back to the modified title. but eventually the title will revert again to the original title that it was in the iTunes Store.
I do not have iTunes Match on, this only happens to Tracks purchased in iTunes.
Anybody have any suggestions to avoid this Apple BUG?

People in other threads have speculated that any kind of communications with Apple's servers can be at fault, including the Cloud, Genius, automatic downloads, sharing info with Apple, and even making store purchases.
It might very well be a combination of any of these (like maybe it could happen if you make a purchase but only if you have automatic downloads on). I don't know.
I have not experienced the problem since I turned the Cloud option off. Here are my current settings:
Show Cloud purchases: off (turned off when I started having play count and metadata issues)
Genius: off (never liked it, and it caused long sync times)
Automatic downloads: off (just annoyed me; I want control of what to sync where and when)
Share info with Apple: on (never thought about this option, so I left it alone)
And I have made quite a few purchases from the store with these settings and no ill effects.

  • XML Premiere 5.5 to FCP7 Import problem

I am working with an outside editor who did some edits for my company in Premiere 5.5.
They're  tryng to supply me with a FCP7 compatible XML file for import into FCP7.
Well I am able to convert the XML file in FCP7, but not all of the info is coming thropugh properly.
The edit is a simple one...
    2 camera A/B talking head
1 Main Audio track whihc is done as 4 audio (2 stereo) tracks in Premiere.
The edit supplied to me comes through with the video being fine on 2 tracks.
However, the audio track does not even show up in my timeline.  However it's there on his Premiere timeline.
Any idea what might be the problem?
I have supplied pics of both timelines for reference.
One is his Premiere timeline, the other is my FCP7 timeline after XML conversion.
Premiere timeline with 2 videos tracks and 4 audio tracks.
FCP7 timeline with 2 video tracks and only 2 audio tacks sowing up.
Where is the other audio track.

    Jeff,
Thanks for your advice, the use of the UT Video Codec Suite has been exceedingly helpful in capturing video. It has made 1080i capture much simpler.
Unfortunately it has not solved my 720p import problems.
I have played around with several different configurations. If I record 720p at 29.97 frames, the whole video imports without difficulty, but the sound is messed up. But when I try to import 720p video at 59.94 frames, Premiere Pro will only import the first couple of minutes of the video if the video is longer than 7 minutes.
If you have any further advice, I would appreciate it.

  • Track Titles on Burnt CD's??

I have been burning CD's for a period of time. Many of them play on other machines.. Windows based machines and pull the information on the track titles and many of them do not. Any assistance on how to avoid this problem. I would like to import these "mix" cd's but without information like track title, artist, etc... it is difficult to think I am going to rekey each and every mix CD.
    Any Assistance??

Apart from burning as an MP3 CD (with which the track
names etc. are stored as meta-data inside the MP3
files), the other option would be to burn using the
CD-TEXT standard. Unfortunately iTunes does not
support burning with this information (and for that
matter, many players including WMP for Windows do not
    support reading it).
I use Toast (in Mac OS X) to burn audio CDs using
CD-TEXT, I am sure there are plenty of equivalent
    packages for Windows.
However, I would agree MP3 format CDs is going to be
the simplest and most compatible option (although not
    of as good audio quality).
As of September 12th and the release of iTunes 7, iTunes
will now burn Audio CDs with CD-Text included (check in preferences). This applies to iTunes on both Mac and Windows.

  • Importing Troubles: Incomplete First Tracks

When I try to import a CD, the first track invariably winds up... how should I say... abbreviated. It will start importing, get a little ways into the first track, get stuck there for a while, then skip to track 2. The rest of the CD imports just fine, but I only get about 30 seconds or so of the first track. I'm running XP on a new Mtech laptop. I've updated all my hardware drivers. I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. I don't get any error messages or funky track times or anything else that other people have reported. Just an incomplete first track. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. I did try just re-importing the incomplete tracks, and it worked the first couple of times, but then iTunes started merely re-importing the same partial track length it had the first time around. But good news: the issue has been resolved without having to resort to using a separate program for ripping, converting .WAV files, etc - none of which I was keen on doing.
For anyone else who might be having this problem, what seemed to fix it was this: I turned Error Correction on, and I turned the automatic import feature off. BUT... just doing this alone wasn't enough. After making these adjustments, I completely closed out of iTunes and then rebooted my computer. I opened up iTunes after the reboot and have been happily importing CDs problem-free ever since.

  • HD Import Problems

I recently purchased a Canon HV 20 HD Camcorder. Picture quality and playback from the camera is excellent. However I have had a few problems following import of HD footage to my computer with IMovie 06 HD. Most of the footage is fine, however a few scenes get very choppy and do not run smoothly (compared to direct playback from the camera). Also some scenes have distorted sound, it sounds like the speech is lowed down. I have all the latest updates installed for IMovie.
    Anyone else had similar problems?

Hi Tim and others on this thread.
Having raised a few hares, I felt duty bound to take another look at this problem.
I dug out a master tape of my last 1080i HD project and which contained two clips with distorted sound. They were the last two clips of a 60 minute recording on a 63 minute tape and were, respectively, 13.5" and 47" long. They played fine in the camcorder and I have now discounted the camcorder and tape as a possible cause of the problem, following further testing in iMovie 6.
I connected the camcorder to main power, then connected it via Firewire to the iMac, switched the camcorder to Play/Edit, and then opened a new imovie project(1080i PAL). I imported the last 4 minutes of the tape including the problem clips. The clips imported at half speed which is normal for my 1.8GHz CPU and shortly after I was able to preview in real time.
The two problem clips still had distorted sound and the preceding two clips had no problem when reviewed in the Clips pane preview.
I then highlighted the problem clips and dragged them simultaneously into the Timeline. The sound problem disappeared-they both played fine. I dragged them back to the clips pane and the problem reappeared.
I then tried dragging them back to the Timeline and that seemed too much for iMovie 6. Sometimes a clip would work, then only one clip, then I lost sound altogether on the second clip, etc. Once you go beyond a certain point iMovie 6 will just become impossible.
Quitting iMovie and then reopening the project got one clip to work temporarily but clearly is not a solution.
Apple`s suggestions to conserve power when in HD by turning off Show Audio Waveform in View did nothing and neither did their other suggestion of deselecting Keep Playhead Centred in Playback Preferences. Neither did their suggestion to Repair Permissions. I had already tried their other suggestions of defragmenting my drive and there is now little more I can do to improve the performance of my computer.
What did get me back on track was to close iMovie>ditch the iMovie preferences plist(Home>Library>Preferences)>re-open iMovie. The other thing that worked was your idea Tim of extracting the audio of both clips, and in fact this seemed to be the most lasting solution. However, starting with dragging both clips from Clips Pane to Timeline might prove better than either-I still do not know whether dragging them together was what what did the trick. Of course, it might be necessary to do all three if problems persist.
Because I had confused iMovie with all this messing around, I ran DiskWarrior to tidy things up. No major problems were reported but this application does not report all the corrections it makes. Thus it sorted out a previous problem I experienced with iMovie 6 when trying to use purchased music but I have no idea what changes it made.
My revised conclusion is that we may all need a lot more power in the CPU when editing high definition in iMovie 6. For example, the new 24" iMac G5 has the equivalent of double the power of my current iMac.
David Babsy, a frequent contributor to these forums often mentions that most of his problems disappeared with a more powerful computer. You only have to see how things dramatically slow down in iMovie 6 when reaching the end of a big high definition movie edit to appreciate the need for more power.
Obviously we still need extra RAM and also a big hard drive to cope with the vastly bigger files that HD needs.
But power, memory and storage are, I now think, not the full answer. There is a bug or a series of bugs still to be resolved in iMovie 6 if it is to be truly stable. I include importing problems with HD in that list.
I still think iMovie 6 is fantastic, even on my underpowered iMac.
Apologies for previously confusing the issue with camcorder/tape issues.
The problem clips are still working in iMovie as I post this.
