  • In App purchase - app rejected

    Hi,
    Senario--
I have a navigation app in which there are numbers of route, some route are free and some are purchasable with different price (max $3).
The routes are created by user on the go.
To achive this, I categorise all the route into 3 category based on their price range
    a) 0-1
    b) 1-2
    c) 2-3
I created 3 consumable product Id and implemented the In app purchase for the user to buy those routes.
Once the user purchase a route, I update in my native server and he can download it for free for rest of his life as many times.
Apple review team rejected my app citing inappropriate implementation of IAP.
They are asking to maintain unique Product ID for each route.
But it is impossible or rather unrealistic to seat and keep on adding product id for every route a user upload to my server.
Moreover all the Product Id's I made are consumable.
    Question 1
What is the proper way to implement IAP to achive my goal
#Note  Categorising route is not mendatory
I had even asked the Apple review team if I could use virtual purchase--
    Detail---
It is just like pre paid account-
User  buy User Balance or say Account Balance. (real purchase using IAP)
As they go on buying routes user balance get deducted (here comes virtual purchase, i deduct user balance, this is maintain at my native server )
But the Apple team rejected my proposal citing, we need to tell the user why and for what he is paying for.
So how to achive my goal to let user buy routes.
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi ..
You need to take this to the Apple developer forums, not here.

I am on a MAC Application.
It has  been rejected by following reason.
This app does not check for the existence of a purchase receipt, which can prevent In-App Purchases from being correctly processed.
We recommend implementing receipt validation to resolve this issue.
At a minimum, the app will need to check for the existence of an App Store receipt and exit at launch with a status of 173 if it does not exist.
    Any help ?

  • My app got rejected as PayPal has been used as payment method. in-app purchase method was suggested by apple. My app charges yearly subscription from users. In-App purchase does not support it.  How do I proceed. Please advise.

I had submitted my app to apple for approval. My app got rejected as
PayPal has been used as payment method. in-app purchase method was
suggested by apple. My app charges yearly subscription from users. In-App
purchase does not support this type of payment process ( or, I could not
    get to it).
Please allow me to use paypal or guide me on how can I charge yearly
subscription from users using in-app purchase payment method.

You're not talking to anybody from Apple here.
We're all just users like you.
But I can tell you without reservation that PayPal cannot be used in an iOS app.

  • HT4009 I am trying to make an in-app purchase and being rejected and prompted the support page.

Unable to complete an in-app purchase, keep getting error messages although i can buy other products on the apple store.

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them why the message is appearing (we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • In app purchase for tomtom - login rejected!

Afternoon all - i was going to get the in app purchase for the tomtom - it asks me for an email and password - my itunes one isn't working - and i cannot access it from itunes - do i have to register somewhere else for in app purchases? If so, where?
All software up to date - present and correct!
    Cheers all

In app purchases like the one for TomTom must be done using the same itunes account that was originally used to purchase the app. Second, you must actually be signed into the itunes store on your phone. So, make sure you're signed in, Settings>Store, & make sure the account you're signed into on your phone matches the account used to originally purchase the app.

  • Can I move in-app purchases from one iPad to another?

There are a couple of my iPad's apps which I've used to make in-app purchases. If I get a new iPad, then sync these apps to it, will these in-app purchases 'survive'? Or do I have to buy them again?

Yes you can restore from the backup of the iPad 1. You will be restoring all this information here. I made "in-App Purchases" bold and larger so that it will stand out. The "settings" of the new iPad as you are thinking about it would really be the new features - the settings of any iPad are what the iOS does on the device.
You will have to sync your media back to the iPad - your apps, music, photos, movies, books, TV shows - but all of the information below will be restored to the new iPad when you restore from the backup. I copied this information below from this link.
    iTunes: About iOS Backups
iTunes will back up the following information
Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).
App Store Application data including in-app purchases (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).
Application settings, preferences, and data, including documents.
    Autofill for webpages.
    CalDAV and subscribed calendar accounts.
    Calendar accounts.
    Calendar events.
    Call history.
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
    Game Center account.
    Home screen arrangement.
    In-app purchases.
Keychain (this includes email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords you enter into websites and some other applications. If you encrypt the backup with iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the keychain information to the new device. With an unencrypted backup, you can restore the keychain only to the same iOS device. If you are restoring to a new device with an unencrypted backup, you will need to enter these passwords again.)
List of External Sync Sources (Mobile Me, Exchange ActiveSync).
Location service preferences for apps and websites you have allowed to use your location.
Mail accounts (mail messages are not backed up).
Managed Configurations/Profiles. When restoring a backup to a different device, all settings related to the configuration profiles will not be restored (accounts, restrictions, or anything else that can be specified through a configuration profile). Note that accounts and settings that are not associated with a configuration profile will still be restored.
Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps.
    Microsoft Exchange account configurations.
Network settings (saved Wi-Fi hotspots, VPN settings, network preferences).
Nike + iPod saved workouts and settings.
    Notes.
    Offline web application cache/database.
Paired Bluetooth devices (which can only be used if restored to the same phone that did the backup).
Safari bookmarks, cookies, history, offline data, and currently open pages.
Saved suggestion corrections (these are saved automatically as you reject suggested corrections).
Messages (iMessage and carrier SMS or MMS pictures and videos).
Trusted hosts that have certificates that cannot be verified.
    Voice memos.
Voicemail token. (This is not the voicemail password, but is used for validation when connecting. This is only restored to a phone with the same phone number on the SIM card).
    Wallpapers.
    Web clips.
    YouTube bookmarks and history.
    * Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss.
I have restored form backups several times - last night actually was the most recent. All of my settings were restored and I lost nothing. I have never made in app purchases, but they are listed in the information abaove. If you do the restore properly, you should be fine.

  • Paypal mobile SDK for in-app purchase of restaurant

    hi.
if we integrate our restaurant app with paypal ios SDK for modile, would that violate app-store policies? going by the document (https://developer.apple.com/in-app-purchase/In-App-Purchase-Guidelines.pdf), this app is not selling subscriptions or renewable services or couriers or software games etc. simple restaurant app. pl advise.
    thank you.

Yes, strictly for food. Its very simple app with 3 tabbars. One for menu, one showing the order/checkout, other asking user for delivery info. If apps like that can be rejected I was wondering what could be use of such SDK?
this is my first app and it looks like i have to pay for apple developer support even for posting such question.
    appreciate your responses.

  • Paid Folios in-app purchase. How long to approve?

    Please,
I would like to know about the experience that other users when submit folios to sell by in-app purchase. How apple needs approve these follios before upload to app store.
Usually how long Apple get to approve?
    Thanks

    Richard,
I'm actually going through this issue myself, wating for an IAP to be approved by Apple and I was under the impression that just the Product IDs get approved. But according to this thread at http://adobe.hosted.jivesoftware.com/message/4059543, specifically point #7 by Bob Bringhurst, that's not the case. Each folio gets downloaded, looked at, and then approved/rejected.
I've been waiting for 4 days already on my IAP and nothing yet. It's really wreaking havoc with my newsstand dates.
My next question is how to pre-load IAPs and get them mass-approved ahead of time. Is that even possible? What consititues being "on developer hold" as you mention?
My best-case scenario is to have several of my magazine issue IAPs in the Approved state by Apple, then hit Publish via DPS each month when the issues become complete and have them magically appear on-time each month.
Is this possible? Am I even understanding the process correctly? Thanks in advance for anyone's help!
    Cheers,
    CAL

  • I give up: Trying to change to app with In App Purchase

This should be such a simple process and procedure.
I have an app priced at .99 in iTunes.
I have been trying to change it to a free download, first 7 pages of app free preview, with an In App Purchase of .99 to view the rest of the app.
Have followed all these instructions to the letter:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/free-article-preview.html
iTunes rejects the IAP because they don't see the IAP after the 7th page.
I have the first 7 pages of the app set as Free in the folio producer and the rest are marked as Protected. I update the folio with the status Public and Free.
I assume the problem is that I have the app priced at .99 still in iTunes, but if I change it to free while waiting for Apple's approval it generates hundreds of downloads a day and I end up having to purchase another folio bundle. Not exactly ideal.
I have gone through weeks of this with iTunes/Apple trying to get the IAP approved. It should be such a simple process/procedure but at this point I'm ready to give up and let my folio count run out and my Professional subscription expire.
Unless anyone has experience with this problem and can offer some specific advice/solutions?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Bob
Apologies for the confusion on terminology.
The app is currently priced at .99
Problem is, if I set it to free while I wait for Apple to approve the IAP, which has taken a minimum of 7 days the last three go arounds, so many folios are downloaded that I have to purchase another bundle. Which on the one hand is great that so many users want to use my app, but then again, it isn't exactly in my budget to be purchasing extra bundles of folios.
But apparently that is the cost of doing business, I guess.
I did have the app published as Public and Retail. The first 7 articles were set as Free, the rest of the articles set as Protected. I have selected the "Enable Article Preview" also.
This resulted in the bug error message from Apple, which basically says there was no content available to download. This is the same folio that has been working fine, I just changed the settings to Pubic & Retail, etc. so can't imagine it is a real "bug" so to speak? Here's the message (the screen shot they attached was basically a blank screen):
We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 7.0.2, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, your app launched to the attached screen. Not content was available.
For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. Please be sure to:
    - include the complete details of your rejection issues
    - prepare any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, and steps to reproduce the issues for when the DTS engineer follows up.
For information on how to symbolicate and read a crash log, please see Tech Note TN2151 Understanding and Analyzing iPhone OS Application Crash Reports.
If you have difficulty reproducing this issue, please try testing the workflow as described in <https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/qa/qa1764/>Technical Q&A QA1764: How to reproduce a crash or bug that only App Review or users are seeing.
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Starting over yet again...

  • Folio appear in app library with in-app purchase status is "Developer removed from sales"

Please share your experience about Apple In-app purchase setup.
    Viewer Builder app: Multi-issue
Folio published with public & retail
Producct Id: input to iTunes In-App manage console
In-App Status : Developer removed for sales
After I launch the developer build customer app, I can see this issue available to purchase and download (in Sandbox environment).
Does Custom Content Viewer app check the distribution server, when the folio is public & retail, check iTunes store, if it is ready to sale, show folio with selected price tier and make availbe to purchase.  If the record status is not "ready to sales", the folio should not appear in folio library, correct ?
Problem In-App record highlight with red rectangle in screen capture.
Please comment below action taken to resolve this situation.
    (1) Delete the folio using Folio Producer (unpublish);
    (2) Delete the record in iTunes In-App purchase;
    (3) Publish the folio with new productID;
    (4) add record in iTunes In-App with the new productID;
    Michael.

Hey Bob. Yeah, I tried that. It just comes back. I even deleted the app entirely and reinstalled it. Same thing.
I logged in through the Adobe Content Viewer and it even shows up there. I don’t understand where it’s coming from.
I rebuilt the viewer and need to send the updated binary to Apple for approval but I’m afraid this phantom folio is going to cause them to reject it.

  • Restoring In App Purchase  and DPS settings

Hi there, we received this rejection from Apple after submitting our app and are a bit confused. Does this have to do with the app submitted or a setting in DPS? Is there someone that can suggest how to handle so we can successfully submit our app?

This is presumably because you built non-renewable subscription In App Purchases within iTunes Connect, when you should have built renewable ones.

  • In-app purchase - restore transaction

Ok so I have been able to use the native extensions to make use of the in app purchase and got that working well, however, my app got rejected because I didn't have a way for a user to restore their purchase if they delete the app from their device and re-add it at a later date.
Here's my question though. How do I detect whether a user has actually already purchased the in-app purchase when they reinstall the app to show the restore purchase button.
Right now the way it works is that when they buy my in app purchase the app stores a variable in a SharedObject so that whenever the app loads it sees the vairable as true and reveals the feature. Once they delete the app from the device the shared object has been deleted also so there is no way for the app to know it was already purchased.
Do I just put a button on the purchase screen that says "restore purchase" that will fire the StoreKit.storeKit.restoreTransactions()event if that user had already purchased something, but return an error if they hadn't?

    sbhave wrote:
Also I would recommend you call restoreTransactions on launch if you find that LSO is unavailable. That way user will automatically get all his purchases as he starts using your app.
isn't that a bit wierd - it means that as soon as the app is launched for the first time it will ask the user for their password with the dialog box - that's not normal behaviour for an app. I would imagine the user being dubious about entering it when they didn't expect anything to start downloading
and with regard to the restore button always behing there - isn't that weird for someone who has never purchased anything to see a button that says "restore purchases". I've never seen either of these two implementations on an app before. Isn't there a way to detect if the user has any purchases to restore before you offer them an automatic restore or a manual one?
