In Help Menu it says HELP isn't available regardless of what app I'm using

Trying to get some simple answers using the Help search box in the menu bar. In Safari, mail etc. it just says 'Help isn't available' after entering info.
Where's my help?

You can go to "Purchases" tab and check again.
If OS X Lion is still not downloading, try at a different network environment.
By the way, Mac Pro (2006) with a newer graphics card runs Mavericks perfectly with modifications in the installer.
It's not allowed to be discussed here, but you can simply google how to do it.

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

Good to know — there is no such application as "Adobe XI".
"Adobe" is the name of the company.
"XI" is indicative of the use of either Acrobat XI or Reader XI.
Neither Acrobat XI Pro (for which Adobe provides a free, fully functional 30-day trial) nor Adobe Reader XI (the free to download and use PDF viewer that Adobe provides) have an "Export PDF" entry under "File".
"Export PDF" only is present in Adobe Reader XI over on the right on the "Tools" panel.
The "Tools" panel provides a way for a user of Adobe Reader XI to connect to various By Subscription online services (gotta pay eh).
Export PDF is one of these. A subscription lets you send a PDF file to the online internet service (aka "cloud" service). The service then exports to a supported file format (Word / Excel / ...) and the user selects / directs where the output file is to be saved on the user's local machine.
Of course to use any of the online subscription services one must have an active (paid up in full) subscription to the service.
So ---- As described the puzzle pieces don't fit eh.

Issues with book region availability? (Keeps saying it isn't available, then it is, then isn't...)

I'm having a slight issue with a specific book series's availability (The Vorkosigan saga)- About two weeks ago I purchased the first four books in the series through my local (Australian) ibooks store, straight onto ipad. Now I've gone back to get more, and I'm getting a very odd issue...
If I search for the book series, it apparently doesn't exist in the store foraustralia. But, I get a message saying it is available on the US store.
If I switch to the US store, I get a message saying it is not available on the US store, but -IS- available in australia. Swapping back to the australian store leads to the situation starting again.
I've even swapped to canadian, english, etc and other versions of the stores, all saying that books from that series -are- available before I swap, but saying they are not available after I do it. This is happening if I acess the store from home, from university, work, etc, and on all my different devices.
Does anyone know if there is any way to solve this issue? Or is anyone able to check if they can find the books in one of the stores I've mentioned (which would indicate it is just me, which means this is something I should be able to fix somehow)?

I've sent the ticket in, but I figure I may as well keep this here too, since quite often other people can help much better than support does.
Okay. Knowing they're not showing for other regions too helps, I guess.
If I look at my purchases on itunes and find them, I can re-downloand the ones I already have fine on my computer's itunes. But searching for them yields nothing in any store version. I deleted one off my Ipad at random, and tried to re-download it straight onto the ipad with wireless, and I got the "not avialable in your region" error there.
Searching them with google lets me find links to them on the store eg

ITunes help isn't working - anyone know what to do?

When I open help in iTunes I get the usual template but it's blank. If I type in a phrase in the search box it will show the rotating bar thing to show it's busy but never comes back with anything. I get the same thing in Mail as well. has anyone come across this? Tried a search of this discussin group but didn't see anything.

As the problem exists also in other programs, it might be a corrupted preferences file.
Go to ~/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences and trash the following files:
com.apple.help.plist
com.apple.helpui.plist
com.apple.helpviewer.plist
I suspect the first one is the culprit, but it does no harm removing all three.
After restarting 'Help', the Helpviewer makes new ones.

I paid for lion because my 2006 mac pro will not run anything newer (arbitrary decision by apple). Downloaded it, but nothing happened. App Store now says i've already downloaded it, so I can't try again. App store also says lion isn't available in usa.

I found out that an 06 mac pro cannot be updated to anything more recent than lion. They guys at the local shop told me this after they tried to update it for me so I could run logic pro 9 in 64 bit mode. I bought lion. Waited two days for the emails. Spent hours following the instructions which sounded so simple until you try them. Finally I found the "redeem" button that was hidden because the size of my safari window was too small to show it and there was no bar at the bottom to scroll over. Without googling "how do you find the app store" and "how do you find quick links" I never would have figured it out. I only mention this so that others may learn from my mistakes. Finally I downloaded lion, supposedly, but nothing happened. There is no indication that anything downloaded, other than the fact that when I try to download it again, it says it's already been downloaded. I spent four hundred bucks at the shop updating, plus whatever they charged me for lion, and I've still got snow leopard and logic pro running at 32 bits. I'm pretty sure nobody can help me, but could you please arrange for the return of my time?

You can go to "Purchases" tab and check again.
If OS X Lion is still not downloading, try at a different network environment.

Garageband says plugin isn't available...

I was using Kontakt 2 and now when I open one of my files I get a pop-up message saying that this plug-in is not available... and that I should reinstall the plugin.
Does anyone know where the files should be located for the new version of Garageband to find them? There is a fold for kontakt 2 under /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments...

Garageband has gone 64bit, so any old 32 bit plugins will not work.

If I understand your question, you want to read pdfs on your iPad, not create or edit.
Drag pdf files to the iPad icon in Finder while connected to your computer via the USB cable.
They will show up in the iBooks application
(If you don't already have iBooks, it's a free download from the App Store.)
Once installed, there are two buttons at the top left of the Bookshelf.
One is Books, the other is Collections.
Tap Collections, and you'll see Books and PDFs.
Tap PDFs and you're there.

Lightroom 5 isn't available in Creative Cloud app manager

LR5 doesn't show up in my list of applications available for Creative Cloud.
I have the trial edition of CC. Before the trial edition I downloaded and installed LR5 trial. I read in the LR/Cloud troubleshooting FAQ that it may not show up because my system does not meet the requirements. It seems my system does meet the requirements with one possible exception; Does the 2ng gen core i5 CPU meet the CPU requirements? The req's say Intel 4... so I wasn't sure if the notebook processors were included. I've got no issue with LR5 trial.
I just want to make sure that LR5 would be included and available if I purchase a paid subscription to CC. CC seems like something I'm interested in, and a big way to combat privacy.

However, regarding Lightroom 5 install and activation issue, I suggest you to follow the below mentioned instructions.
1. Close all Adobe applications including Creative Cloud desktop application.
2. Open Finder, click on Applications in the left pane and trash Lightroom 5 application.
3. In Finder, at the top　left, click on Go > Go to Folder. Type /library and hit enter.
4. Open Application Support/Adobe folder and rename Lightroom folder to Lightroomold
5. Again in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder. Type ~/library and hit enter. (Please make sure you prefix ~ symbol)
6. Open Application Support/Adobe folder and trash OOBE folder
7. Open Creative Cloud desktop application and install Lightroom 5 from Apps tab
Ive not tried it yet as I guess it'll mean backing up library etc but might be worth a try..

I'm unable to load Help for any Apple application (Safari, Mail, iTunes, iPhoto,etc). I get this error message: "Help isn’t available for (name of app; Safari for example)."

Sometimes just closing and reopening the Help window will clear up the problem. Otherwise, you may need to delete the Help cache.
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpd
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Move the selected folder to the Trash. Log out, log back in, and test. Help pages will be slow to load at first.
If that doesn't work, the problem may be caused by network conditions. It may go away by itself, though I can't say how long you should wait.
A persistent failure to load help data has been reported as an issue with certain ISP's, such as the Exede satellite network. Test on a different network, if possible. I've also seen at least one report that Photo Stream in iCloud can mysteriously interfere with Help. I'm not sure whether that's true, but try disabling Photo Stream, if applicable.*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select

You need to reinstall the App Store.
