IN list limitation

I would like to know if there is a limit for the "IN" statement in a query?
If there is one, could i change it?

I believe you're limited to 255 items in the list, but I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment. If you need more than that, generally you'll have something like
select *
from table
where someColumn IN
(select someColumnValues from someOtherTable)
in which case the IN list is effectively infinite.

You are looking at the size limits for an Outlook Personal Distribution List in that KB article, not an Exchange distribution group. I've seen Exchange groups with tens-of-thousands of members. The limit is not set by a property limit in the Exchange
directory, and indeed, I don't know that there is a limit.

Sender Mail Adapter - CC list limitation

Hi All,
Is there a way to receive the CC list in the MailPackage in stead of receiving it in the message Header?
If the above is possible, please specify the sender mail channel configurations required and the changes required to the standard SAP Mail Package XSD structure.
Background of the issue: Mail adapter restricts the CC list in the message Header to 200 characters.

What I mean is that you need to created scenario:
In my previous reply, I mean we need to use HTTP in sender side, probably we need HTTP receiver to call the serverlet to get the list of the CC.
Then you can design a BPM scenario:
Any Sender adapter (which can be trigger thed process) - BPM (Sync call to get response which has CC list) -> to Mail receiver which can deliver to any mail inbox.
Just a idea since I never have done this.

BCS External list limitation

Problem:
I have an
Event Receiver that is executed when I upload an Excel file to a library. This event receiver loads to a SharePoint list all the data from the previous excel file. I have excel files that can have 60.000 records (this takes more than 2 hours to finish).
Solution that we will implement:
An Event Receiver will load all the Excel data to an SQL DB, to speed up all the process.
Today, users can, view, edit and remove all the loaded records.
The actual webpart that shows all the list records, is an out-of-box webpart that groups the records using two columns (title, than a Category) and shows all the 60000 records collapsed by title,
than when you expand a title it shows you all the Category bellow collapsed. If you expand the collpased category it will show you all the records it has bellow.
Our partner doesn’t want to loose any out-of-box feature offered by this webpart.
(order, filtering, exporting to excel, etc.)
We will use BCS between the DB and the SharePoint list, to load the records, previously uploaded to DB from the Excel file.
Problem: Using BCS we can’t find a way to load all the records at once, in order to group it
all by Title. We’ve try paginate the External List directly in Server Side. If we think that we can load 30 records each time, when I want to group the view by "Title" (for instance), I can only show to final user 30 records form the first "Title",
and only shows the first "Title" (this is the correct technical behaviour), but it’s not what my client wants. We want to show all the different "Titles" collapsed.
Do you know any way to achieve this behaviour using BCS? Or do you suggest any other approach? We're trying not to develop
a custom webpart in order to maintain all the oob feature.

Base on my test, external list get data from procedure can also work with filter web part, please make sure your procedure has effective parameters
returned.
Or try to use a drop down list control to filter the external list view web part.

Signature list limited to 30 items?

I have my signatures set to randomly choose from a list of witty (at least I think so) quotes.
I noticed that the latest ones I have added don't seem to show up. I started a new message, and in the pop-up menu for signatures, I can only see 30 of them. In the preferences, I can still add them ( I have 35+), and I don't get any indication that I can't have more.
Does anyone have any idea if this is set in stone, or is there some hack or a preference file I can edit to allow more signatures?

Thank you. I can see that the list is different for images with/without exif.
In this case an image shot at 24 mm focal length - without exif - makes LC list all combinations for 70 mm, 50 mm and 35 mm.
But 8 out of 12 combinations for the interesting 24 mm focal length are exclueded from the list. Without exif the list seems to be filled bottom-up - 70, 50, 35, 24 mm.
Conclusion: Without exif, scrolling is the only way to access the excluded combinations hidden behind the top of the list - which could include the one to be used.

Nexus 5000 trunk allowed list limited to 256 caracter

running release NX-OS 7.0(2)N1(1), we see the the allowed list in both running and startup config are trunkated, while the show int switchport show the correct list.
Anyone else has seen this issue ?
We will test in lab to see if this has an impact in case of reload of the switch.

Unfortunately SNMP views which would allow you to restrict access to specific object/OIDs are not currently supported on NX-OS. Denying access to a feature via RBAC should also deny SNMP access to related objects for that user, but is not very granular as the scope of each feature is fairly large.
I'm not aware of any way to prevent access to ciscoConfigCopyMIB for a valid SNMP user/community, sorry.
If similar functionality to 'snmp-server view' is an important requirement, I encourage you to let your Cisco Reseller or Account Team know to help us prioritise this on the roadmap.

Unfortunately (debatable...) I am still running Snow Leopard. The field is already added but does not appear in the pop-up list which defines the first of the three elements forming a selection condition in an intelligent group.
Q: Is that pop-up list limited to certain fields?
The disappearing field is called "profession" in my Address Book. Poptentially useful to sort professional contacts...
Q: Does it normally exist or was it added in some obscure way (which I am unable to reproduce now) ?

Why is the Hitachi default drive limited to SATA-150 ?!?! That is bogus.

I have had a HP TX2110us (aka tx2000) tablet for a few years. I'm happy that I've suffered no overheating issues since RMA'ing it immediately after I purchased it.
One thing that really frustrates me though is the fact that the default Hitachi HTS543225L9A300 is capable of SATA-300 yet is limited to SATA-150 max transfer rates as reflected from the nForce SATA controller, both on the the default Vista OS and upgraded Windows 7.
That is just baffling for HP to force such limitations on consumers that are right to expect that hardware they purchase should perform to spec. If this is, as I suspect, an underhanded strategy to force consumers into pricier purchases I find it duplicitous marketing at its worst. The consumer should have every right to think that when they purchase a laptop that has a SATA-300 drive in it, it will be equipped with the proper SATA controller that would enable it to perform at its intended speed ... not a super sub-par SATA-150 transfer rate that was all the rage in 2004. How could any ethical vendor justify such marketing deceit?
Just like I hate thinking about how HP limits your ability to upgrade the abysmal internal mini-pci wireless card with their BIOS white list limiting you only to the card model and vendor they chose to equip it with OEM, all seemingly in the name of the profitable exclusive contracts they work out with their vending parters at the expense of their own customers! Are they truly only targeting the dumbed down customer that wouldn't know the difference between SATA-150 and SATA-300 that requires their purchase of HP service contracts or pricier "options" to do any basic upgrades? If so, they appear to be doing a fantastic job.

You definitely have a point. The nForce 430 chipset should be capable of SATA II transfer speeds. There are many instances of HP notebooks having capabilities below the maximum possible for the hardware installed. It is common that memory bus speeds are downclocked, for example. I believe HP does this to limit warranty exposure. By detuning the hardware, it theroretically will last longer. And I am afraid you are right. HP can do this because the public does not know any better. Laptops sell largely because of how they look, not what they can do. But why would we expect the public to do any better job picking computers than electing politicians? There are parallels.

Passing Multiple rows from one external webpart list to another

Hi Folks,
I have almost spent 1 week looking into this without any success. I have an external list "List A" (in a webpart) with one of the columns as "State".
Another external list "List B" (in a webpart ) has state and user as columns. In some case I want to pass 1 state and in another I want to pass multiple state. Passing one state from List A to List B works fine. But Multiple state does
not work because the webpart list has the property "Send First row to connected web parts when page loads". If I disable this option then the web part does not pass anything. Is there a way to pass multiple rows from one Webpart

Unfortunatly the only thing that you can do a look up on in an external list is on the ID column, anything else and you are out of luck.

The below listed limitations are present in the Bulk API Guide:
4.12 Bulk API Limits
4.12.1 General Limits
Number of syncs permitted per 24hr period: 2000 This limit is not currently enforced, but is logged and monitored.
4.12.2 Import and Export Limits
Maximum import size: 32MB. The import will fail if the data source is larger than 32MB. To import a data source larger than 32MB, you can perform multiple POST requests. For extremely large data sources, the import should be synced periodically, i.e. once 250 MB of data has been POSTed.
Maximum export size: 50,000 records per page. The export will fail if you attempt to export more than 50,000 records in a single page at one time. If you need to export more than 50,000 records at a time, you can filter your request by date range and make separate requests for different date ranges.
Maximum fields that can be included in one export: 100 fields. The export will fail if you include more than 100 fields in the export definition.
Maximum sync size: 5,000,000 records. The sync will fail if you attempt to sync more than 5 million records
If planning for specific large exports, you can create filter statements in your export definition.

After using Merge Clips in CS6, the resulting file now has two audio tracks

I'm running into a weird problem after using the Merge Clips option. I have my video and audio selected, I've already moved the audio so they're both synced. It looks like this:
Then I use Merge Clips and pull the new file into a new sequence which in turn looks like this:
I checked the audio channels for both and apparently the merged file separated the left and right audio channels into two separate streams as opposed to using the single stream for both channels like the original.
Anyway to prevent it from doing this?

At the very bottom they list limitations, one of which being "Merged clip audio results in mono track audio only."
Which I was familiar with before posting this. It doesn't seem however that the two tracks are mono it looks like they are two separate stereo tracks. If I mute one I still get audio in both speakers even though I muted the "right" track.
Here's what they look like in the audio mixer
The original only has the left most track.
I guess the only thing to do is just deal with it or render out each clip uncompressed to have that single audio channel.

A glitch in my use of the change event

I have a script in the change event of a drop down list field that works when a certain choice is made then another field becomes visible. I am trying to get that field to become visible when when a record from a database populates the field the correct value. Right now all that happens is the drop down field shows the correct value but the field in question isn't visible.
Here is the code I am using for the change event.

I have a Drop-down List called "ContractTypeList" that has three items in the list;
Limited Permission
Creative Works Unlimited
Commission for Creative Works
If Creative Works Unlimited is chosen a hidden Drop-down List called "ContractLanguageList" becomes visible otherwise if either of the other two are chosen then it is hidden.
I would like the "ContractLanguageList" to be hidden or shown depending on which item shows in the Drop-down List when I cycle through records in a database. Right now it only works with user interaction.
I'm not sure what to do. I have been using the line, xfa.even.newText. If anyone can help me out it would most appreciated.

I have many access switches with the same configuration but WHY I am getting this issue only on some switches. I want to know why this
problem is random in nature (occurring on only some switches).
Secondly "vlan dot1q tag native" is not supported some of the access switches(2960) but this command has applied on the core switch. Should I remove it from the Core switch or keep it there? What is the best
practice? But other access switches are working properly without "vlan
dot1q tag native" command.
How can I fix this issue without applying "switchport trunk allowed vlan 1-4094".
This problem is not solved by SHUT/NOSHUT under the trunk interfaces.
All switching are working in PVST+ mode

Hello Anser,
on an 802.1Q trunk a Cisco switch uses a proprietary version of BPDU to send PVST BPDUs.
This version includes a field that is the vlan-id.
When the external 802.1Q vlan-id is different from the vlan-id in the received BPDU the switch reacts by rising an STP inconsistency.
in this case the switch named
SW-core complains of:
%SPANTREE-SP-2-RECV_PVID_ERR: Received BPDU with inconsistent peer
vlan id 1 on GigabitEthernet11/2 VLAN1012.
so it says it has received a BPDU with inner vlan-id 1 on vlan 1012.(802.1Q vlan-id).
as a result of this the port is placed in an incostistent state.
sw-core doesn't sends out BPDUs for vlan1.
As a result of this the C2960 sees itself as the root bridge for vlan1 even if it has an high switch priority (probably the result of uplinkfast)
to be noted that when the native Vlan is untagged, a IEEE version of STP BPDU for vlan1 is sent out for backward compatibility with legacy 802.1D devices.
The root cause of your issue is probably the setting
vlan dot1q tag native
on core switches.
Tagging the native vlan is useful when you use 802.1Q in Q to avoid to expose the inner vlan-tag in the service provider network.
In a normal campus network you should be fine with default settings that is
native vlan untagged.

this is the worst part of this issue.
Also restating the list of permitted vlans may fix.
To be noted that permitting only used vlans on both ends of the trunk is recommended.
C2960 may not be able to run as many STP instances as the number of existing vlans in the campus.
So a trunk allowed vlan list limits the number of STP instances running on access switches and contributes to network scalability.

Discount on 1st purchase only

I need to set up a pricing modifier that gives a discount on a customer's 1st purchase of a particular item. All subsequent purchases by that customer of that same item would be sold at regular list price. How would I go about this?

I found I can use List Limits. Usage Across Transactions = 1. Based on Party ID. (?) Would Party ID be better or Bill To? Does each customer have a unique party ID, even if they are related to the same company?
