You could try the forum or even [Scripting Languages|/community [original link is broken]; here on SDN to get closer to the front end, but I guess the "expert level" would need to be quite advanced before an end user spends more than just a careless mouse-click there.
Otherwise there is the [SAP Design Guild|http://www.sapdesignguild.org] which has a lot of interesting things about the UI. However they closed their forums because of spam, and now point to . Downside: Not much action going on. Upside: You could become top contributor and will a free entry to SDN Community Day with just one post.
Another option worth taking a look through is the [BPX category|/community [original link is broken]; where you might find some .ppt programmers hanging out.

The more I've researched this, the more roadblocks appear and the more it appears BC is not going to work for this project, which is a shame as some of the other BC features are perfect for the project as a whole. However, before giving up, can I run the points below by you to validate or disprove any of my current understanding?
I understand I will need to stand up an external db/app to synch with the iPhone app to save the customer survey data, and I understand I will then be able to connect the external db/app to the BC API and pull the survey data into a extended CRM form.
However, once the data is in BC, I cannot work out a way where I could edit that CRM form data with it's assigned to a Case? That is, I understand it's possible to display/edit CRM form data assigned to a 'contact' of a customer record, but the problem here is I can only access the data to edit it when logged on as that customer. But this is data a staff member will access (customers will not be able to access it) and staff will not have access to the customers login credentials. So it's not feasible to assign the CRM data at the Contact level, agree/disagree?
If I set up one staff member as a customer (so one unique login) and save all the (potentially hundreds) of survey data CRM forms as individual 'Cases', but as I understand it, whereas this overcomes the customer logn issue, I won't be able to add a web form to a page to edit the survey data CRM form, because it's assigned to a Case, not a Contact in this scenario, agree/disagree?. (This is the approach I really hoped would work out)
And as you said, I can't use a Web App, which would overcome both of the issues above, because I can't access a Web App from the BC API.
So, in conclusion, these appear to be no way around these roadblocks, unless you can tell me otherwise?

OIM 11g - Reset End-User Password by Helpdesk

Hi,
Help Desk Administrators can search the "End Users" and can "Reset the Password". I have to customize the "Reset Password Menu" which is having two options to reset the password.
1. Manually Change the Password
2. Auto generate the Password (Randomly Generated)
Here i have to disable the option of selecting the "Manually Change the Password". So that the HelpDesk Administrators can select only one option which "Auto Generate the Password".
Urgent Help, highly appreciated.

I think I remember (if I am not wrong) it is the xlWebApp.war/tiles/changePasswordTiles.jsp file. Actually, most of the JSP files are in this place (folder). One thing yuo should be aware of is when you change JSP file. You have to recomplie the war file using patch_your_app_server.sh (patch_your_app_server.bat for Windows) under xellerate/setup folder. Becarefull this will change your configuration files back to original (OOTB) so besure to back up your custom configuration files and put them back after that.

Allowing end users to build search queries?

We have several large document libraries that have a significant amount of metadata columns tied to them. I'd like to create away for users to build queries based on those columns.
I'm picturing a page that displays all of the properies for a given list allowing the user to enter search criteria as desired. for example - ten fields are listed but the user might choose to enter three fields - invoiced date, a customer type and a country
which then returns the results. The next user might enter an invoice total, sales rep and ship date.
Can anyone suggest how to build this type of thing? I'd describe it as an end-user query builder, but that might not be the best way to describe it.

I'm starting to wrap my head around this a bit more and I think the complication is that several of these metadata fields are 'Single Line of Text'-fields.
Metadata navigation would seem to be a perfect solution if it allowed for these 'Single Line of Text'-fields to be filtered.
Is there anything that I might make this a workable solution?

End user releasing own emails based on Policy/Content

Hiya all,
New to this forum and my first post so hello to all
We recently installed a couple of C360 and an M series and they all are working well.
We have also setup Profanity based filtering and as a result many swear words are being rejected.
This is setup using dictionaries.
But we are also getting a high number of false positives and as a result our Techsupport team is inundated with requests to release emails.
I know with SPAM Quarantine there is End-User Quarantine Access but I don’t see this with Policy Quarantine.
The end result I want is for end users to release their own emails blocked based on profanity.
Is this possible?

The main reason there is a separation between ironport spam quarantine(isq) and policy quarantine(aka system quarantine) is that ISQ is mainly used in conjunction with the anti-spam verdict/results. While policy quarantine is used as a result of administrative/company policy(e.g. like a profanity dictionary filter in your case).
Another difference between the two is ISQ is accessible by the end user. Policy quarantine is accessibly only by the admin of the machine.

Now, there is a way to tweak it so that the content filter sends it over to the ISQ. Now keep in mind by doing this, you're mixing profanity filter verdicts with anti-spam results. It may be confusing for the end user unless you preprend the profanity stuff with "[Contains profanity]" at the beginning of the subject line.

Suggestion : Have the "Top Users in Forum" report based on 30 days

Currently, the "Top Users in Forum" listing is based on cumulative points. This means that we will never see "rising stars !".
If the list were to report based on, say, points earned in the past 30 days, we'd at least be able to note some "rising stars !"

Hemant K ChitaleCan Jive handle the extra processing required to maintain both overall points for the persons status AND points in the last 30 days for the Top Users lists, per forum? Jeez, it can hardly handle serving the threads, don't give it more work to do. If we want anything we want the little dotty things back, at least they were useful, unlike the points system.

Auto-populate form fields based on end user input?

I'm currently attempting to create a new form that has a combo box "Locations" with various options. What I'm looking to do is have another text field auto populate other fields related to that location (such as address, contact information) to save on time and reduce opportunity for end user errors in input.
What are my options for accomplishing such a task? Some form of binding fields with a MS database possibly?

The form and (potential) database would be located on a shared drive on the company network in which those that would use the form already have access to.
The pc's that user's would be using have Reader 9.
The pc I'm using for developing this form has LC Designer 8, Acrobat Professional 8, and Reader 9.
Ideally, I would "like" for the end user to have the ability to add new locations, addresses, etc ... in the event it is needed, although this would not be likely to come up.
Based on the software I have on hand, and the need to not incur additional expenses, what would you suggest?

You can load the raw html - if flash is told (e.g. via
flashvars) the url of the page that you want (its available in
flash as what you would think of as the browser's 'view source'
style plain text) with either as2 or as3.
But you can't do full browser-style rendering of the content
because flash just can't do all that. You could parse the raw html
(probably a custom parser as I think the internal xml parser might
choke on some of the tags in html that are not closed such as
<br> etc) and just pick out bits of text or images that you
could display but you can't achieve an embedded browser.
Adobe's AIR might be more what you want - it has embedded
browser support- but it doesn't run inside a browser like flash.

Expire OIM User based on End Date

This is a query on expiring an OIM User based on end date.
Does OIM need any configuration for it to expire the user based upon end date?
The start date seems to work well as expected but the end date doesn't.
Even after the end date has arrived the OIM User is not being expired.He is still able
to login into OIM without any issues.

Theres a scheduler task that has to be run to check the date and deactivate the users.

Looking for browser-based, end user ad-hoc reports

Hi all. We have need for an easy to use, browser based end-user reporting tool that can be hosted by CF10. We are spending a fantastic amount of time building custom tabular reports for our client and would prefer to give them a tool in our app that let's them build reports whenever they want. Do any of you know of any good reporting tools where the end-user could build their own reports?

End-user item search limit @ 250, increase?

I am wondering if there is a way to increase the limit of items returned for a search from 250 to something more?
Example -
UserA has a mailbox. 3000+ emails, 1 year worth of data in the Inbox.
UserA has his Outlook configured in "online" mode (cache disabled). "Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown" is disabled as well (in the Options > Search).
UserA runs a search for letter "a".
Search returns 250 items - no option to get more at the bottom of search results.
UserA logs in to OWA.
Runs a search for letter "a" again.
OWA returns 250 items and says "If you can't find what you were looking for, please try more specific terms"
Exception -
If UserA puts his Outlook in cached mode, and allows it to cache everything, the search (performed locally by the indexer on UserA's machine) will find way more than 250 items.
This behavior is observed in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013.
This was not an issue when UserA was on Exchange 2010 - when the user clicked "Get More" after the initial results from Search, it would load everything else it found.
Question - Where on the Exchange server can I modify the setting for this, and is it modifiable?
Answers similar to "have user use more specific terms" or "have user specify a time range" are not what I am looking for. This worked in 2010 and having to tell the user to use more specific terms will equal to a disaster.

OIM - Email notification to a specific user based on a dynamic rule

Hello, After creation of account in a particular target resource I need to send an email to a specific user based on the location of the user (e.g area admin).
In the notification tab of process tasks, I see only "Assignee", "Requestor", "User", "User Manager"? How can I achive the above specified requirement?
Before posting this question, I tried to search the forum for any previous posts related to this. But I couldn't find any. May be I was not searching with right key words.

You'll need to custom code an adapter to send the email, then you can send to any user you want. Create a new task and trigger it off the completion response code. You can use the following apis:

sendMail.setBody("Type your body here or use a string variable");
sendMail.setSubject("Type your subject here or use a string variable");
sendMail.setFromAddress("[email protected]");
sendMail.sendEmail("[email protected]");
Just populate the above pieces with the information needed.

How to Allow the End User to Save a Form

How do I allow an end user to save form after they've filled it out? I understand this can be accomplished using the distribute function where you email the form to people. We don't want to do that. We want to put it on a website and allow them to access it, open it, fill it out, then save a copy to their hard drive (with the data they entered visible). I have searched the forums and cannot seem to find a solution for this. Thanks, in advance!
