Inconsistent mapping timings

Hi all,
We run mappings by calling the generated MAIN procedure from a driver PL/SQL package we built, dynamically constructing the MAIN signature call. And have been doing this successfully for hundreds of ETL mappings. Then we use the ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUNS view to determine status/timing counts, records counts, etc, and write them out to a job log table. And it's been working great. However, recently a curious issue has arisen. We generate our own "Start" and "End" timings in our job logs immediately before calling the MAIN function and afterwards, as well as displaying the "Elapsed Time" value from ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUNS, and for some reason, there is a noticable lag between when OWB thinks the mapping has completed, and when control returns from the MAIN call. In some cases, this is almost as much as the actual mapping execution time - for example, a mapping with elapsed time of 12 mins takes another 9-10 mins to actually complete/return.
Anyone have any inklings where this mystery time might be going?
This particular mapping does deal with a lot of data (soemtimes millions of rows), being passed between multiple "steps" within the mapping, so maybe there's lots of "cleanup" going on? Anyone have any ideas on how to track this activity and determine it? In looking over the corresponding ALL_RT_AUDIT_STEP_RUNS view (step level detail for a given mapping run), everything seems in line (all Set-based processing, no failover happening, etc) - the last step completes just before the mapping "finishes" (according to "elapsed time") though then the lag begins...
Any ideas on where to look next appreciated!
Cheers,
Jim C.

hace you tried taking traces while the mapping is run and tried to find out what causes the lag. This could be because of some kind of locks or some network or infrastructure condition might be causing this. The first step that i would take is take traces.

  • Prob. in challan de mapping

When de map the challan of March month
    It shows
Unable to save challan mapping due to negative entry in Total Number of Employees Partially Mapped

    Hello
Regarding your query, the issue reported by you basically happens due to inconsistent mapping or unmapping of the employees to the Challan.
We would suggest you to kindly delete of the negative entry from the table 'T7INTE'. You also need to delete the entries from the table PCL4 as well for the corresponding challan for which the negative entry has been created. Performing the above suggested steps will remove the reported inconsistencies. After deleting the entries completely, kindly perform the Challan mapping for the employees again. Please make sure that you are not deleting the entry from the table for which Form24Q
    has already been generated.
The deletion process can be explained as such:
    1. Execute the transaction 'se16'. Go to the tables mentioned above. You can execute the table 'T7INTE' with the TAN number. On execution,a negative entry will be displayed for a particular challan. Select that entry and delete of the entry from the table.
    2. Go to table PCL4. Execute the table with relid as 'I1' to 'I2' and the TAN number in the field 'SRTFD' as 'TAN number'. On Execution, you will find all the employees mapped to that particular TAN with the corresponding period dates. Delete of the entries for the period for which there existed a negative entry in the table 'T7INTE'.
    3. After deleting the entries successfully from both the above tables, kindly performing the mapping action again.
    Thanks and Kind Regards

  • Removing complete Challan Mapping data from system

    Dear Consultants,
My client has entered erroneous data for challan mapping. When I checked the data, I found that there is some difference in the Challan amount & available amount. It means there are some employees mapped for these challans. but the main page of CMAP shows employees mapped = 0. When I tried to delete the challan data, system says, there are some employees mapped to these challans.
When on the last node of CMAP, I tried to select all employees on the right hand & click on the arrow from right to left, no amount of challans was changed.
May I know how to delete the entire mapping data from the system?

    Hi
This is bug 5195315, which looks to be fixed in a 10.2 patch. If you can pick up the latest 10.2 patch there is like 3 years of fixes worth picking up.

  • Maps app:  find me locator inconsistent

I have an iphone 3gs -- fairly new -- Just recently, the GPS on the maps app has been working inconsistently. Some times it shows my current location is in the middle of the US (I'm in LA) and yet other times it is accurate. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. Any ideas as to why this is occuring? I have reset and restored.

Taking a wild guess, you're near Colorado ?

Has anyone heard of this type of exception and what it indicates?

Im having the same problem as you guys and after doing some research, i found this website http://www.sprintdevelopers.com/forums-posting-quote-p-18.html which is basically telling not to create String objects as String s = "SS"; but to use String s = new String("SS"); if your program will lead back to that particular String object over and over again. But even after i changed ALL the Strings, it still doesn't work! Hope you people over here can give us some answers..

  • Port Mapping Inconsistent

I am having trouble getting port mapping to work consistently.
I have configured by Airport base station to forward 5 ports to iMac: 6880, 6881, 6969, 9090, and 9091. It appears that one of these is forwarded correctly, but the others are not.
When I go to https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=9090 I'm told that the port is open. However, when I substitute any of the other ports, they appear to be closed.
I'm also not able to visit websites that use port 6969.
Any ideas what could be going wrong with this? There are multiple users on this machine (with fast user switching). Could that be part of the problem?

Is there any way to tell without disconnecting my Airport and connecting my Mac directly to the cable modem? I did some googling, and did not find anything about my ISP (RCN) blocking ports other than 25.

  • Windows Server 2008 Standard: Multiple Concerns: Inconsistent group policy update on client PC's, frequent disconnections of map drives and remote connection

Hi this is my first time to ask a question here in this community.
I am a system administrator here at my work and we are having some issues on some servers that we handle. Network in our office is stable and we have determined it is not a problem on the connection.
First issue - One of our domain controller consistently drops out on our Directory Server and saying it's unavailable.
Second issue - Unable to ping hostname but IP address works fine. (Sometimes hostname is ok but very intermittent)
Third issue - Since connection is unstable map drives causes to disconnect
If someone can provide any assistance on this matter it would be a great help. If screenshots needed for proper assistance would be appreciative.
Just to add that this only happen after a power failure last April of this month and a few weeks bluescreen started to show. It is a hazy version wasn't able to get any code that may lead to a hardware failure.
Now our main RDC.local is also affected so we are trying to isolate this issue and exhauted my brain since we cannot determine what causes it. Need external assistance just to give us a lead on where we can get this resolved.

    Hi Ryan,
Before going further, would you please let me confirm something more? Thanks for your understanding.
    1. For first issue, would you please let me know OS edition information of the problematic DC? Was it Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012 or any other?
    à
One of our domain controller consistently drops out on our Directory Server and saying it's unavailable.
Would you please let me know the complete error message or provide a screenshot of it?
(Please hide all protected or private information.) Meanwhile, please log on the problematic DC and check if find relevant events or errors in Event Viewer.
    2. For the second issue, it seems to be a DNS issue. Did you run
ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /registerdns command? Any find? Meanwhile, please use
ipconfig /all to display full TCP/IP configuration and check. Or you can post the
ipconfig result here. It may help us to go further analyze. By the way, would you please let me know error message that you can get when be unable to ping via hostname?
    3.
àSince connection is unstable map drives causes to disconnect
    May be a cause.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • Inconsistent behavior of 'Map' data type

    Hi,
I have a transaction  property of data type 'map' with the values { 1000=[string:bar], 3000=[string:restaurant],  2000=[string:cafe]}.
The function Transaction.MapProperty returns "bar" only on the first execution of the transaction. The other times, it returns "null". When I looked at the property values, I noticed some leading spaces in front of the index values, which I didn't have in the first place. Could that be causing a mismatch?
    Any thoughts?
    Regards,
    V M.

Maintaining two list variables solved this issue.
    Used the expression Transaction.List2{#find(Transaction.List1,<matching value>)#}
Conditions: i) All the values in List1 and List2 are unique.
ii) The values in List1 and List2 are mapped by the corresponding indices.
    Regards,
    VM.

  • Map IDs working inconsistently

We recently upgraded to RH7. With RH5 we had a system with
our developers and all worked fine. What we are experiencing in a
newly created project in RH7 is that only 2 or 3 IDs will work (per
testing in both our application and MS HTML Workshop). It doesn't
matter if we map IDs to topics or bookmarks or change which topic
the IDs are mapped to (which we did just to see if we could make
all the IDs appear in some compilation).
Is anyone else having this problem with RH7?

This can be achieved by directly calling the URL of help system along with the MapID string in the following format. RH_ShowHelp() function need not be called.
    "<URL_TO_MAIN_PAGE_OF_HELP>#<str=MAPID"
    e.g.
    <A HREF="WebHelp/WebHelp_Example.htm#<str=Setup">Click Here to Test</a>
where "Setup" is a Map ID.

  • Inconsistency between catalog authoring tool & Search engine

    Hi,
We are on CCM2.0 and SRM5.0 with catalog deployment in the same client as SRM.
In our implementation we are using master catalog and product catalog. We have very recently deleted around 65 items from our product catalog which is mapped to mater catalog and hence those 65 items are not found anymore in master catalog in CAT (Catalog authoring tool).
This master catalog when published, we expect that these 65 products should not be available for end users.
But end users can still see the deleted items through CSE (Catalog search engine). Thus there is data inconsistency between CAT & CSE.
Has anyone faced similar issue before if yes can you please share the same with us.
Edited by: Manoj Surve on Mar 24, 2009 7:05 AM

Run TCODE SE38 program /CCM/CLEANUP_MAPPING to look for errors/orphaned records in test mode.
If you want to clear out orphaned records uncheck the Test Mode but:
Warning: This program can slow down a production system as it clears out the memory buffers for user catalog searches and these have to be built up again by the users doing searches.  This can be  hours to days depending upon the size of your system and the number of users.
In Dev or UAt no problem.
    Hope this helps?

  • Mapping Issue for Synchronous interface

    Hi Experts,
We are facing the below issue in a SOAP to RFC synchronous scenario.
Data from WS is successfully uploaded to RFC via RFC request. However we face the below issue when the RFC response is received.

    Hi Shaibayan
looks like there is inconsistency in the RFC maintained in ECC to PI as non unicode.
In RFC channel check the flag for Unicode.
    Or
Write a java mapping to remove the special characters
