Incorrect leaving date in ad hoc query

Hi all
Well I am running an ad hoc query for the numbers of leavers from the company and the reasons for it. This is working absolutely fine but its not showing the correct date of leaving for the employees. even if i have changed the period from 01.01.2007 to 04.07.2007, it still picks up the data for all the employees who have left the company before this period like for the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006.
I need urgent help/advice on it.
Please help me out urgently.
Thanks and Regards.

Hi Suresh..
Thanks for the prompt reply. I have infotypes 0001, 0002, 0006. I also agree to the fact that infotypes like 0001 stay valid even after the employee has left the organization, but Suresh the problem is that it should not be picked up these in the report when it is run for the period from 01.01.2007 to 04.07.2007. this is what is happening in this scenario. the report is picking up the data which is a lot older than this. Is there any way to fix this problem??
Thanks and Regards

  • Leaving date not filled in query

    Hello,
we have created an infoset with database PNP and use the field SYHR_A_P0000_AF_FIREDATE (append structure of IT 0000) in a query.
Unfortunatly this field is emtpy when executing the query but as far as I understood from documentation this should be filled automatically.
Is that an error in SAP or do I need to make any adjustments in the infoset?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
the result havily depends on the PA customizing for the according feature.
You should search in the service marketplace for notes and there are quite some of them. (562031 e.g.)

  • Ad-Hoc Query (Personal Data Infotype)

    Hi,
Our employees are able to update/correct any personal details (name changes, addresses, NI number etc) using ESS.These changes are reflected in the personal data infotype. I would like ot run an ad-hoc query to pick up any personal changes that employees make.
    How do I do this?
    Thanks

You can do this by checking the AEDTM field of the infotypes.

  • Ad Hoc Query Data Issue for Position Based Infoset

    Experts,
I've created an infoset that is based on the S object using the PCH database.  For this infoset, I've included several infotypes with focus on 1000, 1001, and 1028.  I've included the Address infotype (1028) as this is where we store our work location information.  For some reason though when I attempt to pull information from 1028, specifically the House Number and Street field, the Postal Code field, and the City field.
For some reason though, no data is being returned in those fields.  I've verified for the position (in PP01) that I'm querying on that the data is maintained in 1028, and I've verified that I'm attempting to report on the correct fields by verifying the field technical names I'm pulling in the Ad Hoc Query with those I know have data stored in them on the infotype for the specific position.
Would anyone have any guidance on what could be happening here or what I might need to adjust to be able to pull this data?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
    Best Regards,
    Joe

To add some further clarity to this item, the Address infotype on the Position (S) object is pulling from a dropdown of selectable Buildings.  If unfamiliar, the Building drop is populated by configuration data from the IMG.  The fields that are populated then in the Address infotype actually come then from the Building entries and are simply populated onto IT1028 (address) depending on which Building is selected.
I think this is what it occuring then when I select the fields from the Address infotype and I see nothing populated in the Ad Hoc query since the field information is not actually stored in IT1028 but on in the Building entry.
Has anyone else experiencing this particular problem?  If so, have you found a solution?

    Joe

  • PC 10.0 - Error in Ad-Hoc query in Data Source

    Hi,
We are facing an error when running an Ad Hoc query in the Data Source. We have built a DS to monitor the job log table TBTCO and was running the query to check if data is getting fetched correctly. But the query does not return any data and shows the message "Table does not contain visible columns". Is this an issue with the configuration of the SAP table or is the error on the PC side?
    Thanks,
    Soumya

    Hi Naveen,
The connectors are setup and we are able to monitor other tables but not this particular table TBTCO.
We have already added the table and the required fields into the Data Source. We are getting this error when running the query after that.
Is this because of the Delivery Class L of the table TBTCO?
    Thanks,
    Soumya

  • Extract CRM Master Data - Ad Hoc Query

    Hi,
Does anyone know of a tool in CRM like Ad Hoc Query in HR?
Basically I'm looking for an end user tool that allows the user to pull of Master Data. Effectively like a report but they can pick and choose the data they want it to search on.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
query /SAPQUERY/HR_ADM belongs to the client independant (global area) more info you can find here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/d2/cb3f6f455611d189710000e8322d00/content.htm
I think your copy of the infoset will also belong to the global area.

    Hi Experts,
I have a report in R3 for HR. In the report i am getting fields like leaving date, reason for leaving .
When I  clicked F1 on the leaving date and reason  i came to know the field name as FIREDATE and MGTXT...
I checked in DD03L table with these field name and found no related tables for that.....
but i found some structures only.........
In order to create a generic datasource with these fields included then how data will get for these fields....
But i find no relevant tables regarding these fields.....in the report of r3 when checked f1
    Text
    Leaving date
    Definition
Date, on which an employee leaves the company.
    Dependencies
The following infotypes are taken into account when the value is created:
    P0000 - Actions
    P0001 - Organizational Assignment
But the above P0000 ,P0001 are structures .... how can the leave date get populated in the generic datasource.which i may have to create ?
    Thanks

The easiest way to accomplish that would be to add some logic in a custom controller (i.e some java code). Which is a little more complex than regular personalizations.

  • Ad Hoc Query Output

When I access Ad Hoc query (S_PH0_48000510) to run an existing report, instead of selecting the output button right away, I click on Hit List, get the number of records, then I click on display (eyeglasses).  The pop-up window shows me 24 records, all of which I am expecting to see as they fall within my selection criteria.  I select them all, then click on the output button.  Only 7 records show upu2026  And, there are no error messages or authorization messages.  I checked the layout and filter, and everything looks correct.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm missing?  There are no calculated fields; this is just a simple query.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Debbie,
One thing we did in all of our custom Infosets was to include the start date and end date of every infotype as well as the date changed and who changed it.  Thus, when we run reports that are date specific we can say that the start date and/or end date must fall within that range and we can also output that info.
I do not know your data or selection criteria, but the problem may lie with data that is no longer current or "top of stack" that excludes hits from being included in the output.  One example is with IT0000-Actions.  You may be seeking those employees who had a Rehire action since January 1st.  But a later transfer or leave of absence action may now be "top of stack" and the current action, thus is no longer "Rehire",  Your output would only be those whose latest action is Rehire and the others with later actions would be left off.  Adding the start and end date fields will sometimes allow the output of the older Rehire record as would deleting the action type in the selection once the Hit List was maintained in the Reporting Set section.  You would now see the Rehire along with the other actions.

  • Ad hoc query - Infoset, after selection it is giving two different output

    Hi All,
We are facing problem in ad hoc query, after PQAH Ad hoc query, when we go to one infoset, so after making some selection and putting some output field,
When we click on refresh data button(in lower pane) so it gives only one record, which is incorrect, but when we click on u2018Start Outputu2019 button it gives 3 records those are correct.
Can anyone tell me, why this is giving different output.(first time 1 record, and second time 3 records) record 3 output is correct.
    Regards,
    Kumar
Edited by: kumar r12 on Mar 18, 2011 9:00 AM

    Hi Kumar,
Are you looking at the "Hit List" or the output of the results in the lower pane?  The hit list will only give you the number of persons who will be in your output.  The refresh button should give you a preview of the output.
What persons or fields are different or not shown in the preview area vs. the output?  Also, what are the dates for the data?  Are you looking at current data or looking for history?  The output may be showing you history and the preview only current data.  Most concerns with Ad Hoc Query output are related to dates - for the selection and the output.

  • Is it too much to ask MS for a simple ad-hoc query tool for end users?

    Hello
This is a general MS BI topic and not specific to Power Query, but I couldn't find a more suitable general forum for it.
This posting is the result of the frustration I have with MS BI stack, whereby a simple ad-hoc drag and drop query tool to get the data in a table format (preferably from a relational
data source) is missing, something that other big vendors have, such as SAP Business Objects Universe and the associated tools. The deprecated SSRS Report model and SMDL was the closest MS ever got to this functionality (although that had some limitations
too), which unfortunately is dead now in favour of all sort of "Power" tools that basically can’t deliver the same functionality.
The requirement is pretty simple: provide users with a tool that they can drag and drop fields from different entities in a data model without having to worry about entity relationships and
apply necessary filters and get the data out in Excel or CSV, no fancy (or even simple) aggregation or formatting is required, and users should only see the rows they are authorized to see, i.e. row level security (RLS) of data.
Let’s see what we have at our disposal from MS BI:
From the modeling perspective, we have relational models in the database that support RLS with views, but obviously cannot maintain PK-FK relationships in the database model between views. Other
models are .Net Entity Data model Framework model exposed as OData, and SSAS tabular, SSAS PowerPivot, SSAS multidimensional, which you can find a good comparison of their features here:
    http://www.sqlchick.com/entries/2012/3/4/decisions-powerpivot-ssas-tabular -or-ssas-multidimensional-m.html
From the tools perspective we have:
Power Query on top of a relational database (SQL Server): Can connect to relational databases easily, generated queries are optimal, detects relationships with entities, but only when entities
are tables and have PK-FK relationships enforced in the database. So can’t detect relationships with views and hence can’t enforce RLS, so this is not an option unless users keep joining entities, which is not a desirable option either.
Power Query on top of an OData: Works well except that queries generated for multiple entity expansion are terrible (look here for more details:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/7a8b8e52-d3a9-42af-bc52-9d5459c00529/odata-multilevel-expand-query-issue?forum=powerquery). In addition all filtering and projections are done at client side, so even if you want 1 row out of 1 million, all
rows are brought over to Excel before filtered. Overall this results in unacceptable performance even for small sized data.
Power Query on top of a tabular model: Doesn’t support that type of data source yet (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ebcccb5e-7058-4046-917d-3d7fcf60cbdc/tabular-model-as-data-source-for-power-query?forum=powerquery).
Even if it did, tabular models don’t support Many-to-Many relationships out of the box and not sure if there are plans to support tabular models in Direct Query mode in Power Query to take care of RLS.
Excel on top of tabular models or multidimensional models: The tabular model should not be in Direct Query mode and you only get to use PivotTable to query the model. PivotTables are not famous
for generating optimal MDX queries, so performance is not going to be acceptable if you are dealing with large dimensions, especially large junk and degenerate dimensions. You can use drilltrough to get details of a measure, but you have to specify the columns
for a drilltrough action upfront, no flexibility for users to select what they want to see.
PowerPivot on top of relational databases: The query designer cannot detect relationships between views, so users have to perform manual joins, not an option.
PowerPivot on top of a multidimensional or tabular model: The query designer doesn’t generate optimal MDX queries by drag and drop. Especially there doesn’t seem to be a way to add related
attributes of a dimension attribute to the query without cross joins which results in poor performance on large dimensions. Other issues found here
http://sqlblog.com/blogs/marco_russo/archive/2010/08/24/using-ssas-2005-2008-as-powerpivot-data-source-query-designer.aspx. In addition the result set has ugly column names and issues with data types, such as interpreting numeric data types as Text, and
there’s no straight forward way of getting the data from PowerPivot directly to Excel. The user either has to do a copy/paste (which doesn’t work on large datasets) or create a pivot table, bring the measure, and drillthrough the measure to get the details
    in table format.
PowerPivot with OData: Treats every entity as a separate table to import, not suitable for our use case.
Report Builder and SSRS on top of relational, multidimensional or tabular model: Given the query designer is the same as PowerPivot, it has similar issues. In addition, there are 4 more steps
from designing a query to generating an Excel or CSV output, not an option.
PowerView: Works against tabular and multidimensional models, but there’s no way of exporting data to Excel sheet. Besides the add-in is not available for Excel 2010.
Good old MS-Access: Link to tables and views through ODBC, create relationships between entities and give each user a copy of that Access database to create their queries, and deal with the
nightmares of updates to the model and distribution of new models to the users! Did I mention Access as an option?
So there you go, 10 options, none of which can deal with a seemingly simple use case sufficiently. At the moment, the best among them appears to be option 6 against a heavily optimized OLAP
cube, and perhaps #3 when/if Power Query support for tabular models in direct query mode arrives. Perhaps I am missing something very obvious, and would like someone to enlighten me here.
    Thanks

Hi, as far as I can infer, that term means it's not loading any resources until needed, opposite of this...
    -bind_at_load
Sets a bit in the mach header of the resulting binary which tells dyld to bind all symbols                when the binary is loaded, rather than lazily.
    https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/ man1/ld.1.html
    Load resources lazily.
You should never load a resource file until it is actually needed. Prefetching resource files may seem like a way to save time, but this practice actually slows down your app right away. In addition, if you end up not using the resource, loading it wastes memory for no good purpose.

And, higher OS versionsare even worse with Bonjour/mDNSResponder, but might see this...
