Initial Load for Master Data from R/3 to CRM

Hi Middleware Experts,
I have an ambiguity on initial load of enhanced master data from R/3 to CRM. The current situation is
1)I have already enhanced master data on R/3 side with some additional fields. Now shall i go ahead with standard intial load of these Master data to CRM without creating middleware interfaces to map those enhanced fields on CRM side?
2)Also after doing initial load from R/3 to CRM, if I develop middleware interfaces for mapping these new fields of master data and then again do the initial load, so that new fields also get mapped, will the initial load be done properly as i have already done it once? will it overwrite the previous initial load data on CRM side properly?
Please suggest whether it can be done or not and which is the better option.

Hi Rahul,
Since you have not done the mapping yet the middleware will not bring those fields to CRM it will work just like a standard initial load without considering the enhanced master data field.
When you develop the middleware interface and enhance the CRM data structure also and then you can see the exchange of those fields through MW. You can start the intial load at that time also its not that you can do the initial load just once. But the better option would be that you avoid doing initial load several times because its time consuming activity. You do all the enhancement and then finally perform the initaial load.

i am new to BW Environment, thanks in advance for the Forum.
while loading hierarchy master data from the flat file to BW, i am getting an error as follow
WITH AN OPEN SQL SELECT, THE OUT PUT AREA USED TO HOLD THE SELECTED RECORDS MUST BE ATLEAST AS WIDE AS THE DATABASE TABLE FROM WHICH RECORDS ARE BEING READ.
IN THIS CASE , THE DATABASE TABLE IS 167 BYTES WIDE, BUT THE OUT PUT AREA IS ONLY 141 BYTES WIDE
pl's any one can help how to solve this problem.

Hi,
This is the procedure.
1. Create m-data with or without attributes.
2. Create infosource .
    a) with flexible update
         or
    b) with direct update
3. Create transfer rules and assign tyhe names of m-data and attribute in "Transfer rules" tab and transfer them to communication structure.
4. Create the flat-file with same stucture as communication structure.
5. if chosen direct update then create infopackage and assign the name of flat-file and schedule it.
6. if chosen flexible update the create update rule with assigning name of the infosource and the schedule it by creating infopackage.

you can follow the same 3.x dataflow eventhough u upgrade.
the only diff
3.x - would be emulated DS
7.0 - RSDS
3.x - file path declared in infopack
7.0 - is declared in DS (that would be inherted by infopack)
Infosource - optional - works fine on both the versions
creating a new DS, it has to be RSDS .. no way out

Downloading Master data from R/3 to CRM

Hi all,
Inorder to download Master data from R/3 to CRM, first we need to download all relavent customizing and condition objects, is this is the correct procedure. Pls anyone clarify this.
If we make any changes to the data in R/3 which is already downloaded to CRM, will those changes replicate in CRM, inorder to replicate those changes in CRM what are the necessary things to be done.
please anyone clarify on this

Hi Phani -
You will need to download all the condition and customizing objects which are relavant for the data you are replicating. Else you will get errors.
Ans to 2nd part of your Q - you can do this by doing a delta load.

Error while replicating customer master data from R/3 to CRM

Hi gurus,
I am working on replication of customer master data from R/3 to CRM. It was working fine till date. But Now I am not able to replicate because in Inbound queue (in CRM 5.0) I get the status SYSFAIL for queue name R3AI_DNL_CUST_ACGRPB. When I checked SYSFAIL it shows "Incorrect parameter with CALL FUNCTION"
Kindly help regarding it.

About delta loading for master data attribute

Hi all,
We have a master data attribute loading failed which is a delta loading. I have to fix this problem but I have two questions:
1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?

Look.....for master data.....no need to delete request from the target..........just make the status red.......and repeat the load.....But problem is that master data sometimes does'nt support Repeat delta..........if u repeat......then load will again fail with Update mode R.........in that case u hav to do re-init.......
1) delete the init flag.......(In the IP scheduler >> in the top Scheduler tab >> Initialization option for source system)
2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise .....init without data transfer.....if the last delta failed picking 0 records.......
3) then Delta.......

Simple basic question on attribute data load for Master Data InfoObject....

I am a bit confused & wanted to have some clarification on the following:
1) For loading Attributes data to Master Data InfoObject, we load it through Data Source of Type Master Data Attribute.
But what i did, i created Data Source of type Transaction data and using the same Excel file, i was able to create transformation with Matser data Attribute and was able to load the data.
This shows i can use Data source of type either master data attribute OR Transaction Data doen't matter while loading into master data attribute. IS THIS TRUE?
2) I have 2 master data infoobjects (Test1 & Test2). I made Test2 as an attribute in Test1.
My question is while loading Master data for Test1, will it also load the data into Test2 if it doen't find respective data in Test2?
(i did all the transformation as per need.)

HI Harpal,
1. Did you make a transformation between attribute data source from source system other than flat file and DSO?...
I think PC File is flexible in this aspect..
2.While loading Test1 the infoobject Test2 will get loaded only if it is a navigational ttribute..(You can see this by refering the SID Table)
Please also note that it does not load Test2 attributes.

Error in pulling customer master data from R/3 to CRM

Hi,
I am trying to pull customer data from R/3 to CRM with different SHIP-TO partner. In this case, the VAT REG. NO. is different from its country ISO code, so when i try to execute in tcode R3AR2 and R3AR4, I was encountered error message in tcode 'SMW01' saying "ISO CODE <code> IS NOT CORRECT IN THE VAT REGISTRATION NUMBER".
Is there anyone knows any recent updates from SAP that might solve this problem?

Error While Loading the Master Data from R3

Hi Gurus,
I am loading the masterdata from R3.I have enhanced the Datasource .In that datasource there is a field DATUB ( Valid To Date).For this field I have wriiten the User Exit at the R3 side.Now I am loading the data in BW.But I am not getting the values for DATUB field in the BW, though they are there at the R3 side.
I have done following to analyse the issue.
1.Have checked the datasource at the R3 from RSA3.Its populating the field DATUB correctly.
2.Have deleted the whole masterdata and tried to load again.But no success.
3.Have tried to load the data for the perticular Bill of Material(BOM).Then it get loaded correctly along with the value of DATUB.But when i tried loading the entire data i am not getting the field DATUB populated.
Please help me out.Its urgent.

Hello,
I finally got the solution to my problem.
If you append a field to generic datsource then you should check the tick in datasource for "field only". Or else you would not get the values handed over to BW.

Request Download for Master Data from ECC to CRM resulting in "Wait" Status in R3AR3

I have created request download in R3AR2 transaction to download master data for a particular Business Partner from ECC to CRM.
But after I execute the request in R3AR4 transaction and check its status in R3AR3 transaction, it always states as "Wait".
Please help me as to how to resolve this issue.

XML data load for master data

All,
Is it possible to load master data using XML datasource. If yes how. We are already using XML load for the transactional data. When we try for the Master data the option "create BW datasource with SOAP connection" is greyed out.

How can we match the different IDs from different applications when we load first time.
Have we to do this manually or is there any functionality to do this automatilliy like CUA.

Hi Matthias,
It's slightly an opne ended question. It depends a lot on which systems you are consolidating from. Is it just ABAP systems?
As a general concept - you need to decide which will be your unique identifier for the identity (Employee ID, ID number, social security code, etc). After you've done that you need to adjust each import/consolidation job and map the proper attributes.
If you have 1 field that is identical for the user in all you systems, you have most of the work cut out for you.

Actually I am trying to load Project Master Data from R3 to BW through a BW Process chain, Its a daily activity which we are performing since long time.
But since last 2 days loading is getting failed with an error in ST22 in source system (R3):

What happened?
     Error in the ABAP Application Program
     The current ABAP program "CL_CGPL_TASK==================CP" had to be
      terminated because it has
     come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
     caught in
    procedure "PREPARE_FOR_RELOAD" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
     clause.
    Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
    exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
    The reason for the exception is:
    You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
    access a component (variable: "ME->OUTLINE_PARENT").
    An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
    before it can be used to access components.
    Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
    CLEAR statement.
I tried to reload the data but no help, I am not sure how to reolve this issue, I also contacted to BASIS even they are not aware of this error.
