Initializing Process

When opening AE C5.5, it goes through the initializing process of loading the necessary files to run the program. I am noticing it is taking a long time to start the program. When it indicates Initiaitzing MediaCore (See below). It takes a while for that particular stage to complete.
May guess is it is looking for media players compatible with AE C5.5 to render certain effects in during preview s(just a guess). That that process is completed, I get this warning:
WARNING: QuickTime is not installed on this system. Some components will not work properly.
QuckTime is installed on my computer. For some reason, AE is not reading (recognizing) QuicTime. I even uninstalled QuickTime and re-installed it just in case.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Easy enough: Something is preventing the necessary auxiliary components and services from being initilized. Without the QTserver, o Quicktime, without DynamicLink only incomplete MediaCore. Check your user privileges and any local security tools and settings that may interfere...

I think the necessary condition records might not exist.
You can maintain the same using MN21.
Also check whether the necessary customising is done using Transaction NACE and by selecting application ME.

When I use Migo to post GR or GI, I use MB90 to print Output from Goods Movements but I receive a message "No messages for initial processing exist".
I must use MB02 to assigned document number to output form.
How can I set GR auto assign to form A, or GI auto assign to form B ?

Error initiating process in single instance mode

We have implemented Guided Procedures and have included a visual approval step to review an employee's supporting documentation before an Admin makes changes based on the approval request, and also KM documentation steps and iViews. Lately in the Alerts monitoring area I am seeing multiple errors.
I have checked the callable objects and all pass the check (including input and output parameters, results states, process exceptions and configuration parameters) however the error keeps showing up. Within the process instatiation tab the process is set to 'single running process is permitted for each user'.
Does anyone know what may be causing these alerts, and how do you repair them?

Hello,
The GP SingleInstanceProcessException is normal when using
Single instance process instances which for example ESS uses.
If you have single instance processes and you try to start an already
started instance, the exception will appear but will not cause problems.
It notifies the UI to redirect to the previous process instance.
It is expected behaviour.

Stuck at Download Initiating Process

I've been upset on this issue for a day.When I delete and then download songs to upgrade the quality ,usually after 20 or 30 songs downloaded ,further downloads just stuck at initiating process.What's more,I can't even stop or cancel those downloads.I have to shut down itunes and restart it.Any suggestions?

If you are using a Windows based computer, try disabling anti virus software and turn off the Firewall.

Hello Atul,
You need to check 2 things:
- In TCode NACE, Application: V6-Handling Units, your output type should be active for Multiple issuing in General Data tab,
- In TCode VL74 overview. the input parameters for processing mode should be 2 - Repeat processing which 1 by default

The condition types are linked to procedure under the below path ;
SPRO Materials ManagementInventory Management and Physical InventoryOutput DeterminationMaintain Output Determination Procedures
Did you create a new message type or using the standard one "WE01 " .
As per my understanding Message determination of PO is never assigned to document type .
U only maintain condition records through document type .
Just check whether u were able to enter the message type manually and process the o/p.
If yes , then there might be a problem with ur condition records.

I've created a simple process that is supposed to start by polling for a file and reading it then deleting the file. The process is deployed and the file is in the correct directory but the process is never started. The file remains in the directory. Is there something I'm overlooking?

Problem initiating process with multiple operations using HTTP/SOAP

Hi,
I have defined a process which has multiple operations. My process starts with a pick activity containing onMessage branches for each possible operation. When I initiate this service using the BPEL console, I choose one of the operations and everything works fine.
However, when I initiate this process using an HTTP/SOAP web service call using JMeter, always the first branch is executed regardless of the message I send.
My operations are document/literal. Due to some restrictions, I cannot define a SOAPAction for the operations. Could this be the problem? Is there a workaround for this? If this is not the problem, what could be the cause?
I'm using version 10.1.2.1.

Set file descriptor limit for xinetd initiated process

I am starting the amanda backup service on clients through xinetd and we
are hitting the open file limit, ie file descriptor limit.
I have set resource controls for the user and I can see from the shell that
the file descriptor limit has increased, but I have not figured out how to get
the resource control change to apply to the daemon started by xinetd.
The default of 256 file channels persists for the daemon, I need to increase
that number.
I have tried a wrapper script, clearly doing it incorrectly for Solaris 10/SMF
services. That route didn't work, or is not as straight forward as it used to be.
There is a more direct way ?

I'm getting this too, except it's happening for about half of the dimensions in ApShell. It's a brand new install.
BPC7.5 for MS (SP5)
Windows Server 2008R2 64-bit
SQL 2008R2
Office 2007 SP2
I'm trying the initial 'Process Dimension' step for the ApShell application set.
Some of the dimensions (C_ACCT, C_Category, C_DataSrc, Entity) process fine, but others (Category, P_Activity, P_ACCT) fail with the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
The full error from the log is:

Time Machine Freezes During Initial Backup

I have a 500gb external Western Digital HDD I am trying to use as my Time Machine backup drive. The computer I'm using is a 24" iMac with about 250gb of data on it. The external drive is partitioned as a GUID / Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
When I try to run the initial backup, it will randomly freeze during the process. Sometimes it gets halfway through the backup and freezes, other times, right away. Sometimes there is an error, other times there isn't.
I have tried re-partitioning the drive many times, manually starting the backup and also letting the backup start on its own. All of my applications are closed when the backup begins, but no matter what I do, I cannot get the initial backup process to complete.
Ironically, I had the same problem on ANOTHER iMac of mine, with the same model Western Digital drive. The backup would freeze randomly during the initial process but I would keep manually re-starting the backup until it magically finished the backup. Now that computer seems to be working fine.
However, I still can't get this other iMac to work. I find it strange that two separate computers with two separate 500gb Western Digital drives would have the same problem with Time Machine, unless the problem is with Time Machine itself.
Any ideas out there how to resolve this?

Why do you assume it's TM, not WD?
There are many possibilities.
Did you completely erase the drive before formatting it? Sometimes the utilities, etc., that come on new drives can interfere with TM.
Is your iMac an Intel? If it's an older PPC, you need the Apple Partition Map, not GUID.
Is this USB or FireWire? USB is often much slower and less reliable.
If it's USB, does it have it's own power, or does it draw from your Mac? Often there's just barely enough to run a drive; if you have another USB peripheral, it can take enough power to interfere with the disk.
Does it have an automatic "spin down" feature? If so, can you disable it?
Does it have the latest updates? I thing I saw a post here recently that a WD update fixed, but I can't find it now.
Are you running any anti-virus scanning? If so, exclude your TM drive from it.
Sometimes excluding it from Spotlight as well, at least during a large initial backup, can prevent conflicts between TM and Spotlight.
