Insert Member question

We maintain entity to product mapping as transaction data. For eample
(Entity)              (Product)   (SignData)
Profit_Center1   Product1   1
Profit_Center2   Product2   1
When user goes to the schedule to maintain the mapping i have Product in row expansion. When user try to right click and insert (EVDRE: Inser member)  It should show only the rest of the base members i.e. shouldn't show Product1, Product2.
How can we do this? Any ideas?
I am aware the insert in the control panel uses same functions as memberset. Can we refer to a named range for Memberset or Insert options?  How?
Appreciate any inputs

Hi,
In the Insert option, you can mention something like
CALC="N" AND ID<>"PROD1"
Note that there is a not equal to sign between ID and "PROD1"
Hope this helps.

  • EPMSaveComment after EPM Insert Member does not work?

    Hello,
I have situation in report where I use EPM Insert Member and also EPMSaveComment.
After new members are inserted, existing comments are blanked and Save data after that update exsisting comments with blank values
    Detail steps:
Open Excel and log on to BPC-NW Environment / model
Create a report selecting a dimension ACCOUNT on the row axis and TIME dimension on the column axis.
Choose Remove Empty and Zero Values for Rows
Add two local Members on the both following columns as follows:
column x: add local Member 1 and leave formula blank
column y: add Local Member 2 and enter an 'EPMSAVECOMMENT' formula which references the column in 'LocalMember1'
Insert Member and enter some values and also comment.
    Save and Refresh data.
    Insert Member
The comment will disappear from the LocalMember1 (column x).
    Questions:
Is it possible to have Insert Member and EPMSave Comment in same Report?
Fact (documentation EPM Add-in 32.28): EPMSaveComment function is executed (only) when you Refresh the worksheet.
But Insert Member function does not Refresh the report in such way that comments with EPMSaveComment function are displayed? They are blanked instead.
If report is refreshed before Save Data then inserted members are deleted because they dont have values
If data is entered for inserted members than with Save Data also previous comments are changed (with blank), because they are different in input screen that those saved before?
If columns for comments are only added in Excel, so that they do not belong to Report, then comments do not dissapear from "blank" column….
… and function EPMSaveComment in second column still save comments
But in that case after Insert Member function outside Report is not available automatically in inserted row
Also if EPMCopyRange is used instead of LocalMembers the situation - dissapearing existing comments when inserting member - is the same
There is similiar situation with Expand and Insert Member functionality explained in Note 1936111 where SAP states that Refresh is needed?
    Best regards,
    Nevenka Ribnikar

    Hello,
thanks for you suggestion, I will also wait for answer from SAP.
    I will post details again:
    LOCAL MEMBERs in REPORT:
    EPMSaveComment(EPMMEMBER(000), , EPMDIM_CURRENT_MEMBER(ACCOUNT), )
    After EPM Insert Member
    Comments in column »enter« dissapear
In documentation EPM Add-in 32.28 is written: EPMSaveComment function is executed (only) when you Refresh the worksheet
For new inserted member values and comment can be added, but also other comments will be changed to blank values…
If only values are changed and Save Data without Refresh,
then comments are still in column »enter«
If I use columns out of the report than as mentioned, if new members are inserted at the end there is no formula for comment...
Thank you for your answers, I was worried that there is some simple solution...
Does anybody has some real project experience with SaveComments and InsertMembers in same reports?
    Best regards,
    Nevenka

  • Inserting a question in to an existing quiz

    Hi,
We're using version 6.1 of Presenter in PowerPoint 2000 and
2003. We're trying to insert a question in to the middle of an
existing quiz. When I add a question in the quiz manager the newly
inserted question overwrites one of my my existing question
(slides), followed by a friendly error message dialog stating an
unexpected error occured. The question never shows up in the quiz
manager, just one of my existing questions gets splatted.
Looks like there's some sort of corruption occuring in the
quiz that I can't fix without rewriting the entire quiz.
Does anyone know how to work around this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Phil

I fixed this problem by doing two things. Firstly I deleted
the summary slide at the end of the quiz. This stopped the error
dialog appearing, but the new slides I was trying to insert were
still overwriting an existing question. I then deleted the
questions that were being overwritten, and all subsequent inserted
questions worked correctly. Seems like something got corrupted in
    the question slide.
The quiz result summary page gets regenerated so there's no
problem with deleting it if things get corrupted behind the
    scenes.

  • BPC - EVDRE: Insert Member is not coming

    Hi,
In my EVDRE report, when I right-click any of the cells, I can only see
    - EVDRE: Expand & Refresh
    - Select Members
I cannot see EVDRE: Insert Member.
    Anybody knows why.
    Thank you!
    Sunny

    Sunny,
It looks like that the problem is caused by the VMfile.
If you are running Excel directly from the VMfile then it might be caused by some excel options.
What you can do is try/check the following steps:
    - clear local application information
    - check the macro security (sit it to low)
    - try another appset (appshell) and see if it has the same problem
    - try another application within the same appset.

Is there any Limitation on NUMBER of DIMENSIONS selection in an Input Template.
Is there any Solution for this or any workaround.
    Your taughts will be appreciated.

    Hi There,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Can you tell me the version of Captivate You are using (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
Have you tried the same with a new Blank Project ?
Try to Copy and Paste all the slides in a new Blank project of same resolution and then check .

  • Alternatives for "Insert: Member..."

    Dear Experts,
We have used the Insert Member Option in EVDRE and works fine. It is possible to display code and description.
This oprtion works fine for some dimensions.
Currently, we had the requirement to insert a member in a input schedule but the dimension the user must select contains many members so it is not operative friendly (even possible) for the user to select it from the combo BOX as there is no options to filter o look for in this control.
Has anybody tried another similar solutions to achieved a similar function to insert member function?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Ievgen Chadiuk,
I would prefer to avoid building a macro in VBA.
I have rencently checked the SP4 for SAP BPC NW 7.5 and there are 3 notes related to Insert member...
Currently, IT tema is iimplementing it. I will wait to see the improvements of this function.
I hope it had been improved.
    Thanks again.

  • Can I insert pretest questions as knowledge checks between content slides and before a graded quiz without affecting the scoring of the graded quiz? Help documentation states that they should be used before a course begins.

Can I insert pretest questions as knowledge checks between content slides and before a graded quiz without affecting the scoring of the graded quiz? Help documentation states that they should be used before a course begins.
If I use both pretest questions and graded questions, can I also include remedial with return to quiz for both?

Sorry, but I gave two workarounds: my preference is custom question slides, but you can also have questions slides where you do not add the score to the Total score. They will not be reported to the LMS and can act as Knowledge slides. Only some quizzing system variables can count all question slides, including the Knowledge slides, but the core variables (score, maximum score, percentage) will be correct. Here some links to my blog, that could help you:
System variables in Captivate 8 - Captivate blog
Intermediate Score Slides - Captivate blog
That each SCORM module can have only one quiz is a SCORM requirement, not a a Captivate specific feature. Camtasia is bit difficult to compare, it is not a fully blown authoring tool although the best video screen capture tool around (video is non interactive by definition). I don't use Storyline, but cannot imagine that they shouldn't create SCORM-compliant files.

  • DB Insert Example question

I want to insert data into a SQL database using the Insert Example.vi, as a base for my code.  I have to add a large number of parameters to the database.  My questions:
Is there a limit to the number of parammeters I can add?
I noticed that the example added two parameters (Device name and number of samples)  It then uses "DB tools free object.vi" two times.  Do I have to call the "DB tools....vi" once for every parameter I send?
    thanks
    Bob

There is no "limit" to the amount of fields that you can pass through an ODBC to SQL other than your connection timing out if it is EXTREMELYYYYY large.... I would guess that for all practical purposes you would not reach this point.
You can use the Insert Data vi which you would just have to specify the table name that you want to insert. Keep in mid that if you use this functiuon, you need to insert a cluster with THE SAME exact amount of fields as your table in the database. You would use this function if you want to insert a value to every single field in the database. If you dont, then you would use the Execute SQL Query vi, which you would wire a string with your query which in this case would be an INSERT statement.
    I hope this helps.

  • Silly insert/overwrite question

evidently hit a wrong key on rush job, and now when i try to overwrite or insert, clip goes to the end of the sequence.
    how to fix it?
    thanks

Did you inadvertently set an In Point at the end of your sequence?
If there is no In or Out point set on the timeline, the clip will be edited at the playhead location.

  • Index/Key Insert Design Question

Assume I am dealing with a customer object, and its properties which I'm attempting to insert into the database; one table called customer, with a key/index called id which is a unique number for each customer. As I understand it, this is a typical scenerio. Since the id has to be unique, when a customer inserts a new id, it has to be generated. Most of the world, to my knowlegde, does this with a trigger, ala Oracle. Unfortunately, it is my goal to do this without a trigger, allowing database independence with less setup time. This would then have to be done in code and not with the database. I can't think of, or know of anythying associated with JDBC that will directly help me; for example, getNewId(tablename).
The best solution I can think of is to have another table holding the last id. My dao would read this id and calucate ids based on the id read, along the way keeping the last id in the table in sync.
To me, this seems like a hack, but it works. Anybody know of a better non-trigger based and database independant solution? Anybody see the same issues.
    Thanks in advance,
    Brunky
P.S. Pardom me if I cross post this. There are a couple of groups I would be very interested in hearing their views concerning this topic.

    Thanks for your response GurnB.
My understanding is that sequence is in actuality a trigger, if anybody can confirm or dispell this, I'd like to know.
Sequence and Max aren't what I'm looking for because they are Oracle specific. The goal here is to write something database independant; specifically, so developers could use, MS Access(excuse me while I hurl) or mysql( both have potential threading/blocking issues, I know), on their workstations, and run the production app using oracle, with minimal, or no, changes or configuration, except maybe the datasource.
To do this in code, I was thinking providing a static(synchronized) class, maybe a stateless ejb and/or an entity bean; some type of service that would provide the number uniquely to all applications.
Although, when I think about this solution, I crindge and feel all icky inside. Has anyone come up with or seen a less icky cross db solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brunky

  • Ebay ask member question, enter code in box will not work, works fine in IE8

I am using Firefox 19.0. While on Ebay if I go to "Ask seller a question", you have to enter a random generated security code in a box. In the past this worked fine, but in the past year or so has quit working with Firefox and several versions of it. The process works fine with IE8, so it must be associated with Firefox. The only way I can leave a message is the fact that you can choose to have the code read aloud. If I do this and enter the code it works fine, but not if you enter the code printed on the screen. I have tried deleting history/cookies as suggested by Ebay help, but didn't help

  • Quick Insert Order Question

Hey. Something just occurred to me . . .
I'm not sure if the order of the inserts is top first or top last! In other words, what is the order of the signal chain? The uppermost insert is the FIRST and you add insert links to that chain stringing underneath that top one? or does the order begin as the BOTTOM and you add links to the chain stacked UP on top of one another?
    Ugh . . .
I want to assume that the top insert is the FIRST in the chain and the succeeding inserts are the ones AFTER in the signal . . . but I had a dyslexic moment, and now I'm confused . . .
    Thanks,
    Javier Calderon

    It's top first, and downwards.

  • Flash Insert Help Question

    Hello,
I designed a slide show in Banner Zest and saved as a Flash file with all codes and images. Since I can't find where to place the code, how do I insert everything so that my show will run in the site?

You can place the SWF though File -> Place. If you have dependent resources to upload as well required for the flash file to run, take a look at this thread - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5087131.

  • Generate INSERT Statements question

Is there a built-in PL/SQL procedure that SQL Developer utilizes to generate the INSERT statements when one exports data from a worksheet in 'insert' format? Is it part of the DBMS_METADATA package?
    Mike

No this is all done in Java, we use the DBMB-METADATA only for generating DDL...
