Insert performs so differently in two domains through dblink

Hi All...
I have a same insert in two domains... test and certification.... the insert in test takes about 1-2 mins however the insert in certification takes forever... (10+mins and I killed it)
This insert contains dblink selecting from other team's test and cert domain however the number of records difference of their source table is only like 50k....
And after I killed the session, it marked as killed stays in the session. I have to contact DBA to kill it from OS...
Does any one have any idea why this happens and what is the possible solution to this?
Thanks,

    Hi all,
I've done some performance testing of LabVIEW on various microcontroller development boards (LabVIEW Embedded for ARM) as well as on a cRIO 9122 Real-time Controller (LabVIEW Real-time) and a Dell Optiplex 790 (LabVIEW desktop). You may find the results interesting. The full report is attached and the final page of the report is reproduced below.

For microcontrollers, single loop programming can retain almost 100% of the processing power. Such programming would require that all I/O is non-blocking as well as use of interrupts. Multiple loop programming is not recommended, except for simple applications running at loop rates less than 200 Hz, since the vast majority of the processing power is taken by LabVIEW/OS overhead.
For cRIO, there is much more processing power available, however approximately 70 to 80% of it is lost to LabVIEW/OS overhead. The end result is that what can be achieved is limiting.
For the Desktop, we get the best of both worlds; extraordinary processing power and high efficiency.
Speculation on why LabVIEW Embedded for ARM and LabVIEW Real-time performance is so poor puts the blame on excessive context switch. Each context switch typically takes 150 to 200 machine cycles and these appear to be inserted for each loop iteration. This means that tight loops (fast with not much computation) consume enormous amounts of processing power. If this is the case, an option to force a context switch every Nth loop iteration would be useful.

LabVIEW Desktop has many attractive features. This explain why LabVIEW Desktop is so successful and is the vast majority of National Instruments’ software sales (and consequently results in the vast majority of hardware sales). It is National Instruments’ flagship product and is the precursor to the other LabVIEW offerings. The execution platform is powerful, available in various form factors from various sources and is competitively priced.
LabVIEW Real-time on a cRIO/sb-RIO is a lot less attractive. To make this platform attractive the execution platform cost needs to be vastly decreased while increasing the raw processing power. It would also be beneficial to examine why the LabVIEW/OS overhead is so high. A single plug-in board no larger than 75 x 50 mm (3” x 2”) with a single unit price under $180 would certainly make the sb-RIO a viable execution platform. The peripheral connectors would not be part of the board and would be accessible via a connector. A developer mother board could house the various connectors, but these are not needed when incorporated into the final product. The recently released Xilinx Zynq would be a great chip to use ($15 in volume, 2 x ARM Cortex A9 at 800 MHz (4,000 MIPS), FPGA fabric and lots more).
LabVIEW Embedded for ARM is very OEM friendly with development boards that are open source with circuit diagrams available. To make this platform attractive, new more capable Tier 1 boards will need to be introduced, mainly to counter the large LabVIEW/OS overhead. As before, these target boards would come from microcontroller manufacturers, thereby making them inexpensive and open source. It would also be beneficial to examine why the LabVIEW/OS overhead is so high. What is required now is another Tier 1 boards (eg. DK-LM3S9D96 (ARM Cortex M3 80 MHz/96 MIPS)). Further Tier 1 boards should be targeted every two years (eg. BeagleBoard-xM (ARM Cortex A8 1000 MHz/2000 MIPS board)) to keep LabVIEW Embedded for ARM relevant.

I've got to say though, it would really be good if NI could further develop the ARM embedded toolkit.
In the industry I'm in, and probably many others, control algorithm development and testing oocurs in labview. If you have a good LV developer or team, you'll end up with fairly solid, stable and tested code. But what happens now, once the concept is validated, is that all this is thrown away and the C programmers create the embedded code that will go into the real product.
The development cycle starts from scratch.
It would be amazing if you could strip down that code and deploy it onto ARM and expect it to not be too inefficient. Development costs and time to market go way down.. BUT, but especially in the industry I presently work in, the final product's COST is extremely important. (These being consumer products, chaper micro cheaper product) .
These concerns weight HEAVILY. I didn't get a warm fuzzy about the ARM toolkit for my application. I'm sure it's got its niches, but just imagine what could happen if some more work went into it to make it truly appealing to wider market...

  • Unable to log in from different network same domain.

Hi, I am having difficulties with sharepoint at a different location.
Our main site and network that our sharepoint server is on, is 10.1.0.1
Our second site is part of our domain, and has its own DC with the ip 10.2.1.1
Our main site and second site are connected through VPN.
Our users at our second site can't log into sharepoint. They will browse to
http://intranet and the windows security window asks for credentials. Users will enter their credentials but it will not accept them and keeps asking for them. They do not receive any error messages, just a blank screen.
I have also tried adjusting the "trusted sites" options with NO SUCCESS. As well as clearing the "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" option under advance in internet options.

So we have two domains, DomainA and DomainB.
You have tested your DomainA user account, which works fine from Site A, on Site B and it fails. All users from Site B also fail to authenticate.
Can you test a user from DomainB on a machine in Site A?
Are you able to add users from Domain B to your SharePoint sites through the people picker? That will confirm that you have AD connectivity between your SharePoint farm and the Domain B ADDS servers.
Next time you test the login process from Domain B use a hosts file to bypass any load balancers and target a single server, then make a note of the time. That will help you to try to identify the login requests in both the windows event logs and the
    SharePoint ULS logs.
From first impressions this sounds like an inability to authenticate from their network rather than a domain trust issue, although that may still be possible.

  • How To: Host Two Domains on Lion Server - One IP

Here is the situation: I own a new MacMini and have installed Lion Server. All of my updates are current. I have purchased two domains from a reputable “Gddy” source. (I don’t know if I can use there official name). I think I am doing something wrong because I have to type the “www.”mydomain.com to get to my websites. How do I host my two sites?
Here is what I have done so far and have been somewhat successful. For purposes I will refer to my domains in this question as domain1.com and domain2.com. At Gddy my DNS A records for @ both point to my single IP. In addition my www CNAMEs point to @ for both my domains.
My server admin DNS read the following:
    Name – 1.168.192.in-addr.arpa / Type – Reverse Zone / Value - Blank
    Sub Name – 192.168.1.6 / Type – Reverse Mapping / Value – server.mydomain1.com.
    Name – server.mydomain1.com / Type – Primary Zone / Value – Blank
    Sub Name – server.mydomain1.com. / Type – Machine / Value – 192.168.1.6
In Lion server I have Web Server turned on and have setup the following web sites:
    server.mydomain1.com
    www.mydomain2.com
    www.mydomain2.com
I am using iWeb and have both websites loading through SFTP successfully.
I am using a SSH certificate I created using my apple ID
    Questions:
Why do my customers need to type the www to access my domains?
Do I need to setup another primary zone called server1.mydomain2.com?
Currently everything works fine if you type the www before the domains but I am now on a mission to refine my sites. If users get errors trying to get to my site then they will stop trying and I don't want that. Apple community please help. This stuff really amazes me and the fact that I am somewhat "catching on" is a great feeling. Thank you.

As Belle points out, this has little or nothing to do with DNS. It's all about Apache.
When a request comes in, Apache looks at the hostname of the request to determine which site's configuration to use for that request.
Right now you have two 'sites' configured - 'www.domain1.com' and 'www.domain2.com'.
When a request comes in for, say, http://domain1.com/ Apache does that same lookup, except it doesn't find a match - you don't have any configuration for 'domain1.com', only 'www.domain1.com'. THESE ARE DIFFERENT.
There is absolutely no automatic relationship between a host record (e.g. 'www.domain1.com') and its parent domain (e.g. 'domain1.com'). It makes no difference that you have a DNS CNAME that maps one hostname to another because Apache isn't doing DNS lookups on the incoming requests.
The solution, as indicated, is to tell Apache the list of hostnames that match each site. By telling the 'www.domain1.com' site that it's valid for 'domain1.com' as well (and even 'foo.domain1.com' or 'bar.domain2.com' if you want, too), Apache can serve the request with the appropriate configuration.

  • Two domains, one site...how?

I should know how to do this, but I don't.
I have a client with two domains. We want to point both at
    the same site.
Both domains are with GoDaddy, both pointing to the same DNS.
    The site is on
boundgrid, which I have access to via a H-Sphere control
    panel.
I can set up more than one domain for the account, but they
    both end up
pointing at distinct directories. What's the best way to
    handle this short
of just putting a redirect.html page at one of the sites?

Does the account not have a "domain redirect" for it? Ie,
    instead of
setting up an entirely different account through hSphere
    (i've not worked
with it, so I'm just asking) can you not setup a domain
    redirect?
I'm not sure you can, after reading this:
    http://www.forum.psoft.net/archive/index.php/t-3921.html
If you can't do it through your control panel, you can always
    edit the
redirect on the domain you want forwarded.
See here for some info on that:

  • Cannot Connect to Domain Through Wireless Connection

    Hello TechNet Gurus,
As the title suggests, I am having issues connecting to my domain through a wireless connection. I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 (Data Center and Enterprise) to build my understanding of server administration to supplement my undergraduate
coursework (B.S. Computer Engineering & Cyber Security minor). So far I have a working domain controller attached to a switch that I re-purposed from an old WRT54G Linksys router. In turn, the switch is attached to a WRT54GS Linksys router.
When connected through physical media, the domain controller works as expected. I can connect to the domain from two personal laptops running Windows 7 Professional and from two virtual environments running Windows 7 Enterprise. Through these connections, I
can divvy out group policy, access network drives, and other services successfully. However, I attempted to connect wireless, and when I do, I continually get an error indicating that my username/password is incorrect. I carefully re-input the login information
(over-and-over), and I even recreated the user/computer objects. All to no avail.
After a couple of days of research between classes, homework, and work, I found some promising tips:
Added the following entry to the registry for the local machine: %comspec% /c netsh wlan connect name="JBnetwork"
Added the following local group policy (using gpedit.msc): Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
Unfortunately, the above tips have not resolved the issue. From what I understand, the issue stems from the order that the wireless software and domain authenticate. I have also read that this may purely be a networking issue that is not directly related
to Active Directory or Windows 7 configurations. Whatever the situation is, this has me completely stumped and I could use some expert advice.
This is my ipconfig, for the reference:

Thanks to anyone who can help!

    @Zanderol24,
Thanks for following up with me. I completely forgot about this post because I was able to figure out a solution by poking around in Group Policy.
The issue was a pretty simple fix. I tweaked the wireless policy a bit: Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies.
    Thanks again!

  • New Domain Controller does not show in our different site's Domain controller's Sites and Services

    Hi,
we have two sites in our AD environment. OMA site and NY site. we have three domain controllers in our OMA site and two domain controllers in our NY site. All our DCs are windows server 2008R2 except one in our OMA site that is 2003R2 the domain
    functional level is also 2003R2.
We decided to raise our functional level to 2008R2. I added a new domain controller in our OMA site and transferred all FESMOS from the DC that was running 2003R2 to this new domain controller.
the issue now is that our NY site does not make any connection with the new domain controller in OMA site. it does not even show it under sites and services. I have checked the DNS settings and everything. if you try to replicate the connections
from NY site it gives the following error: "The naming context is in the process of being removed or is not replicated from the specific server."
can anyone plz tell me why this is happening mt brain is just frozen at this moment and cant figure out why is this happening

Just noticed this replication issue has been going on for a while now but we never noticed until I added new DC. here is the error log for the NY site DC.
    Log Name:      Directory Service
    Source:        Microsoft-Windows-ActiveDirectory_DomainService
    Date:          1/4/2014 8:11:40 AM
    Event ID:      2042
    Task Category: Replication
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          ANONYMOUS LOGON
    Computer:      NORDC1.vertrue.com
    Description:
It has been too long since this machine last replicated with the named source machine. The time between replications with this source has exceeded the tombstone lifetime. Replication has been stopped with this source.
The reason that replication is not allowed to continue is that the two DCs may contain lingering objects.  Objects that have been deleted and garbage collected from an Active Directory Domain Services partition but still exist in the writable partitions
of other DCs in the same domain, or read-only partitions of global catalog servers in other domains in the forest are known as "lingering objects".  If the local destination DC was allowed to replicate with the source DC, these potential lingering object
would be recreated in the local Active Directory Domain Services database.
    Time of last successful replication:
    2013-05-16 15:26:38
Invocation ID of source directory server:
    9236ac56-d046-4632-b072-acbe823c5f6c
    Name of source directory server:
    accde843-11b2-476c-9783-9b29252d0ba5._msdcs.vertrue.com
    Tombstone lifetime (days):
    90
    The replication operation has failed.
    User Action:
The action plan to recover from this error can be found at
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314282.
If both the source and destination DCs are Windows Server 2003 DCs, then install the support tools included on the installation CD.  To see which objects would be deleted without actually performing the deletion run "repadmin /removelingeringobjects
<Source DC> <Destination DC DSA GUID> <NC> /ADVISORY_MODE". The eventlogs on the source DC will enumerate all lingering objects.  To remove lingering objects from a source domain controller run "repadmin /removelingeringobjects <Source
    DC> <Destination DC DSA GUID> <NC>".
If either source or destination DC is a Windows 2000 Server DC, then more information on how to remove lingering objects on the source DC can be found at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314282 or from your Microsoft support personnel.
If you need Active Directory Domain Services replication to function immediately at all costs and don't have time to remove lingering objects, enable replication by setting the following registry key to a non-zero value:
    Registry Key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters\Allow Replication With Divergent and Corrupt Partner
Replication errors between DCs sharing a common partition can prevent user and compter acounts, trust relationships, their passwords, security groups, security group memberships and other Active Directory Domain Services configuration data to vary between
DCs, affecting the ability to log on, find objects of interest and perform other critical operations. These inconsistencies are resolved once replication errors are resolved.  DCs that fail to inbound replicate deleted objects within tombstone lifetime
number of days will remain inconsistent until lingering objects are manually removed by an administrator from each local DC.  Additionally, replication may continue to be blocked after this registry key is set, depending on whether lingering objects are
    located immediately.
    Alternate User Action:
Force demote or reinstall the DC(s) that were disconnected.

  • WLS 8.1 two domains with EJB and webapp deployed has JVM conflicts?

    Test configuration environment:
Windows 2003 server installed with weblogic 8.1 server and oracle 9i.
This weblogic server have two domains, one is for EJB deployment, the other is a webapp that implements accessing to oracle through EJB.
The issue is when we tested a method provided by the EJB that uses double to calculate some total value, the result was correct. But when we tested it using webapp that was deployed on the same server of EJB, it's result was negative or zero.
I think the reason is that the JVM which both EJB and webapp used for calculation was the same and may made some conflicts when they run at the same time.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance!

This morning I deployed that webapp to the Domain that deployed the EJB, The results of calculating in webapp's jsp was correct.
Any one be kind enough to tell me what the calling JVM differences between single domain(deployed by EJB and webapp) and two domains (deployed EJB and webapp separately)?

  • Two domains + two servers + one static IP address = DNS confusion

I'll try to keep this simple:
I have two domains, two mac mini SL servers, one airport extreme, and multiple static IPs, but only one of them pointing to the router. I've configured DNS successfully for the primary domain (example1.com) and thought that I had set up a second primary zone for the second domain (example2.com) but all external requests point to example1.com.
So the two setups i've tried are:
    Reverse zone
    1.0.10.in-addr.arpa.
    - 10.0.1.200 - example1.com
    - 10.0.1.201 - example2.com
    Primary zone
    example1.com
    - example1.com - 10.0.1.200
    - example2.com - 10.0.1.201
    OR
    Primary zone 1
    example1.com
    - example1.com - 10.0.1.200
    Primary zone 2
    example2.com
    - example2.com - 10.0.1.201
Does anyone know of a good tutorial for hosting multiple servers in an internal network, pointing to one name server internally? I've looked everywhere and cannot make sense of the issue.
    Thanks in advance.

After sleeping on it, I came up with a much easier solution that works better for what I'd planned in the first place. I hung a spare router off my gateway and set up a completely different network for the second server and everything is great now. I knew there was a reason I'd signed up for five IPs...
In any event, I don't think I would've been able to accomplish what I was trying to do while using the Airport Extreme as my firewall. I wanted to have separate static IPs for each of the boxes and obviously I couldn't do that with the airport, although it took a while for me to recognize that.
thanks for the suggestion, though. I think I'm going to use that for some subdomains.

I thought the virtual IP address by virtue of being 'virtual' should not change? :)
I guess it makes more sense to add the Virtual IPs. You can even add multiple hosts (with different IPs).

  • Can we have two domains websites in one SharePoint server?

I have two load-balanced WFE servers hosting SharePoint 2013.  I would like to have two domains rendering different websites on this.  For e.g., I would like to have http://abc.com and http://xyz.com on the same server/farm.  Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance!
    LM

No that won't be an issue.
As far as SharePoint is concerned each web application is capable of functioning a more or less independent system.
    This process describes the process
    http://spshare.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-create-host-header-web.html
You would simply follow that process twice, using a different domain name in the host header field.

  • Can an EJB client application access to EJBs on two domains concurrently?

It is well-known that there can be multiple domains in a SUN application server. If two domains are started up, can the same EJB client application call different EJB methods from the two domains? If can, how to implement? Please kindly give a snippet of sample codes.
Another question: can EJBs among multiple domains communicate with each other? If can, tell me how to implement and had better provide some sample codes as well.

I have my client working now!
I was looking around on other forums and found a guy who said that javax.comm has problems with security. here is the address
    http://lists.dalsemi.com/maillists/java-powered-ibutton/2002-February/002168.html
    He said,
"This is an error generated by the javax.comm packages when initializing
    the
serial ports. It's basically a security related bug. Officially, all
packages stored in your lib/ext folder should be considered trusted
    code,
running with the same permissions as your trusted main application. But
    it
seems that isn't the case with comm.jar.
I've heard that signing the comm.jar file might fix it, but I wasn't
    able to
verify that myself (but I didn't test with Netscape's java plugin). I
    found
a workaround that should take care of it (as long as your main
    application
has "all-permissions"). Try adding this line to the top of your main
    method:
    System.setSecurityManager(null);
So I did that and it worked except for one thing. at the end of my program the client tells me
The system cannot find the path specified.
Do you think this is a major problem? What is it trying to find??

  • Database mirror between two domain

I setting up database mirror between two domain that will help me migrate from SQL 2008R2 to SQL 2012 :
It is set up as follows:
    Domain A(Old domain) - Server A
Domain B (New Domain for HA/DR setup) - Server B and Server C (Already configured as FCI and AG)
I want to migrate data from Server A to Server B using database mirror.
    I set up the
Created Master key, endpoint and certificate on the Server A
Created Master key, endpoint and certificate on the Server B
Backup certificate on both sides and copy to each server
Create inbound connections on both principal and mirror partner. Here I created two SQL logins
    SQLSrvA_login
    SQLSrvB_logi
Grant connect on endpoint to both logins on both principal and mirror partner.
Everything seems ok as can be seen below
    Principal partner:
    grantee endpoint permission state_desc
    SQLSrvA_login        Hadr_endpointCONNECT      GRANT
    SQLSrvB_loginHadr_endpointCONNECT GRANT
    Mirror partner:
    grantee endpoint permission state_desc
    SQLSrvA_login        Hadr_endpoint CONNECT      GRANT
    SQLSrvB_login Hadr_endpoint CONNECT GRANT
Perform a full db backup and log backup on ServerA and restore to  ServerB with norecovery
When trying to establish the partnership, it succeeded on the mirror partner ServerB but failed on the principal partner ServerA with the following error
    Msg 1418, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
The server network address "TCP://ServerB:5022" can not be reached or does not exist. Check the network address name and that the ports for the local and remote endpoints are operational.
The following error is in the SQL errorlog:
Database Mirroring login attempt failed with error: 'Connection handshake failed. There is no compatible authentication protocol. State 21
Any ideal why this is occurring?
    Thanks

  • Insert / update data to a table through DBLINK (oracle)

I try to insert / update a table from one instance of oracle database to another one through oracle dblink, get following error:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01008: not all variables bound
    ORA-02063: preceding line from MYLINK

The same code to insert / update the exact same table in local instance works fine.No any binding problem. So i am pretty sure all ? mark in SQL are set with some value before sending to Oracle.
Someone please advise what is possible problem. Db link is not set correctly? or we can not update remote table by dblink.
By the way i can do insert / update from TOAD to the remote table through DBLINK. Problem happens only in Java code.
    thanks!
    Gary

dblink links from one database instance to another.
So it is certainly a source of possible problems when it works on one database and not another.
You should start by looking at the dblink and it possible testing it in the database not via java.
Note as well that that error suggests that it is coming from the Oracle database. I believe if you had a bind parameter problem in your java code that the error would come from the driver. But that is a guess on my part.

  • Can I have two Domain in one network?

I have two Server in my office in same network.
Server A is Active Directory / Domain Server. Certain user join domain and connect to this server.
Server B is File Server. The other user just use Workgroup. But now this server want to Up Domain to be Domain Server.
But user that connect to the domain Server A will not connect to domain server B and user connect to domain server B will not connect to domain server A.
Is there any problem if I setup two domain in one network?
    Please Advise.

Domains are logical structure of your network. Yes you can create two domains in the same network. One thing you should consider in this scenario is trusts between your domains. By default separate domains have not any trusts between each other and you should
establish trust manually if you would like to have users in A authenticated in domain B.
