Inserting gif or jpg in report

Hello,
I want to insert some pictures in my reports in Answers (for example in the title).
and I would like to know in which directory I have to put the images I want to show in the server.
Where I can change the directory where the pics are stored ?
Do I need to use the fmap function?

There is a very simple way of doing this. Suppose your image is called myimage.jpg. Simply go to the folder
*<OracleBI>/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/analytics/analytics/res*
and then put the image anywhere in that directory. I would recommend putting it in the skin/images folder. Using the s_oracle10 skin as an example, put the image in the directory
*<OracleBI>/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/analytics/analytics/res/s_oracle10/images*.
Then, add the image to the dashboard and under Properties for the Image+ field, type the following:
res/s_oracle10/images/myimage.jpg
As soon as you save the changes, you will be taken to the report and you should see the image almost immediately. This does not require a restart of any of the servers. This works for version 10.2.3. Thanks.

GIF and JPG become damaged

I have a weird problem with some GIF and JPG images which I
use in a RoboHelp project. They appear to get damaged, but I nor
anyone else changes them. The bottom part becomes scrambled or
entirely black. The strange thing is that when I put the project on
my local hard disk, nothing happens, but when they are on the
server (with RAID disk sytem), then trouble begins.
Until now, nobody else who's wordking on the server reported
damaged files, so it seems that I'm the only one so far.
The trouble began on Sept. 11. Some projects I worked on
since that day have problem files. Most projects are RoboHelp, but
there's also a Word-project involved with a damaged JPG-file.
Anyone?

I've indeed already experienced that some RoboHelp projects,
mainly large onces, are better run on the local hard disk.
But this is a different problem I think. The project is run
locally, which goes well, but when I copy it to the server disk for
backup reasons, then some GIF-files get damaged after a while,
while nobody opens the project on the server. When I copy the same
files to another server's disk, then the files do not get damaged.
I also have a Word project that has a JPG file that has got
damaged.

One of the items required in the process before uploading the eBook is to provide:
A. An image of the book cover. That image is now in Pages format and it contains text and a line art image. I need to convert that cover page to a .gif or .jpg format. How can I do this?
B. The process also requires me to create 'Banners' of varying size. How do I create a Banner? All the material [text and art] are contained in the existing Pages document.

As far as I know, the only way to get a gif or jpg would be to make a screenshot.
Maybe a PDF may fit your needs. If it does use the Print to PDF tool and print the 1st page.

You may open a blank Numbers document and remove every table.
You will get a huge blank surface which may be more than one meter in width.
Copy objects from Pages and paste then on the Numbers sheet.

I've searched around a bit about this. I can't find anything about anyone who had the same problem.
I was reporting along and suddenly CR v8.5 wouldn't let me insert a field anymore. I can't insert a field on a new or old report from the field exporer. I drag the field to the area of the report that I want to drop it and it stays a black circle with a line through it. It won't allow me to insert any field in any report.
I tested this on my coworkers computer and his is working fine. Same version, same report, same field.
What would cause my install of CR to stop allowing insertion of fields?

For anyone else that runs into this issue. I searched heavily and came up with nothing.
I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the application and that fixed the problem.
I still don't know the original cause . . .

How to insert horizontal lines in alv report?

hi,
    i have to insert horizontal lines in alv report.( RM07MLBB )
        actually my requirement is:
                           basis list = RM07MLBB.
first secondary list = another report is called here ( RM07DOCS )
                  i want to insert horizontal lines in the first secondary list, when i execute individually RM07DOCS , i can get horizontal lines, but when i dounle click in the basic list --> in the first secondary list , i am not getting the horizontal lnes.
functional modules used are REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY & REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
    here in this program,
                    is_layout = alv_layout.
hence i tried to give
              alv_layout-no_hline = ' '.
but not effecting.
          can some one please tell me , how to insert lines in the alv report.

     so i cannot insert horizontal lines in the first secondary list according to my sorting condition, i.e., in a single block there should be :
       if same delivery challan number is repeating they should come in the same block,
for the corresponding delivery challen number, if have po number, is repeating , they also should come in the same block.
                   in this way i have to seperate the blocks containing EXNUM , EBELN CONDITIONED.

Insert a link on xml report. The link should open up a document(PDFS).

Is it possible to insert a link in the report? The value would come from a sql query. The link when clicked on would open up the pdf or doc.
Is this done thru a href or by inserting a dynamic hyper link.
The release Release 5.6.2 documentation references how to insert a hyperlink. NOt sure if this will work for me.
I tried it but in the documentation it states:

I did it this way in MS Word.
1. create placeholder for value
2. highlight it and make it a hyperlink
3. enter the url into the address line
So If you have a complete hyperlink in xml element URL_LINK you just have to enter {URL_LINK} into the address line. If you have only a part of the link, i.e only a product name, you can enter "http://www.oracle.com?product={PRODUCT_NAME}".

Implement a normal insert process in an interactive report

Hello,
I want to implement a normal insert process for an interactive report. For which I have created an pl/sql anonymous block with the process. This process will be fired when I click the create button of the New record insert region.
insert into table_name(YR_MO,STATUS,UPDATED_DT,ID) values
(to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMM'),:P1_STATUS,sysdate,:P1_ID);
YR_MO is my primary key column in tha table.
For inserting purposes I have created a separate (New record insert) region, with the items P1_STATUS and P1_ID amd a create button.
Within the interactive report, i have a button Create_New when I click this button the New record insert region should open up and in that region, i have the items P1_STATUS,P1_ID.
My problem is when I click the Create_New button within the interactive report, the records are getting inserted. I dnon't understand what might be the problem, because the insert process should be fired when i click the create button within the New record insert region but it is firing when I click the create_new button.
Can anyone help me out with this issue.

Does the insert process fire on a specific request only? And do the two buttons have different request values (names)?

For a direct answer, here's the the Jpeg FAQ. If what you are actualling requesting is "how do I use images in Java" take a look at the ImageIcon class, the javax.imageio package and search this forum for examples. You could also check the How to use Icons in the Java Tutorial.

Insert 2 tables in 1 report

Hi all!I'm sorry for my english my I'm from Italy!
I have a problem with CR 9.2.
I have 2 tables and i need to insert all 2 in the report. The problem is the tables contain multiples records so i have to put the fields in the Details section (to repeat it every record).
I put the header of first table in the bottom of Page Header (Up to details) but for the second table how i need to do?!?

You don't say what you mean by a "Standard Report". If you want to use the Report Generator to make an Excel file with two tables, look up a post I made here in January called Revised "Generate Excel Report" Example. Note that the quotes actually are part of the title -- if you use the Search feature, you should see this pop up when you type the word Revised and then type a space.
If this is not what you are looking for, give us further details.

currently webcache invalidation does not have the expressive power to describe "anything but".
however, you can give a list of rules in single invalidation message, each matching one type of pages, such as under particular directory, and with fixed suffix. and the whole list of criteria effectively achieves "anything but".

Some GIFs and JPGs appearing with yellow "wash" when loading in Safari

I've flicked through forums, google, and called my top graphics people but nobody can seem to help, or has ever even heard of, my issue.
Here it is in a nutshell:
Some GIFs and JPGs appear with a yellow "wash" when being loaded in Safari. I can confirm this is happening on 3 different Macs, and even on a PC running Safari.
Safari 3.1.1 on Windows XP
Safari 3.1.2 on Mac OSX 10.5.5
Here's some examples of it occurring:

You might need to refresh the page in Safari a couple of times to see the flicker but it's there.
I've tried:
- resaving images with and without "progressive" and "interlaced"
- a variety of different colour palettes
- taking a screenshot of the image, putting back into Photoshop and resaving
Has anybody seen this issue before? Unfortunately I can't go live with this site until I fix this very strange error.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Totally independently from your current problem, Safari is cr@p. Dump it.
All Apple applications, from the Finder through Preview and iPhoto to Safari, assign Monitor RGB to ALL untagged images, even if they were created or saved in sRGB.
The only current properly color-managed web browser is Firefox 3.0.1. Just keep in mind that you have to enable color management deep inside the guts of Firefox.
