Installation of two eShops

Hello!
We've got one production server (mySAP ERP 2005). I have to prepare two eShops (B2B) with separate external internet addresses. We've got additional free server for this solution.
1. Production server is located in the company network and it is not visible from internet. But shops should be available for the internet users. Where I should locate server with eCommerce?
I've got a plan to install only Java stack with eCommerce on the new server and put it in DMZ. In the XCM for B2B I will set connection to production server. Because eCommerce server will be in DMZ it will be accessible for internet users. It is a good solution?
2. The second thing is two eshops. There should be two separate internet addresses like addr1.com and addr2.com. The differences between these shops are different product catalog, maybe layout of shop. How to install it?
As I know it is possible to define to separate shops in the XCM configuration. Finally we've got access to one shop by address:
https://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario.xcm=scenario&shop=shop1
and second by:
https://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario.xcm=scenario&shop=shop2
Is it good idea to redirect addr1.com to https://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario.xcm=scenario&shop=shop1
and the same with addr2.com (shop2)?
It is possible to set separate shop layout in this solution?
Or...
I should install two separate eCommerce servers on the one machine. Then I will have two addresses:
https://ecommerce:50001/...
and
https://ecommerce:51001/...
But I thing it is more complex and it is not so good idea.
Can you help me and explain how to split these servers and how to make them accessible for internet users?
Regards,
Michal

Hi,
You can go with both of your solutions.
You can maintain two servers one for internet and one for intranet. In production scenario this is common. You can maintain it in DMZ.
Also you can go for one server with two different shops as you said.
https://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario.xcm=scenario&shop=shop1
and second by:
https://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario.xcm=scenario&shop=shop2
Both these solutions are feasible.
If you want to maintain different layout for different users go for the first solution as they are in different servers and you can change the layout according to them as it would be easy for you.
Or  If you want to go with second solution then try to create a custom application for internet user like
http://ecommerce:50001/b2b/b2b/init.do -
for intranet users
http://ecommerce:50001/b2b_new/b2b/init.do -
for internet users
in this you can maintain different XCM setting for different shops on the same server.

  •  Ps installation on two different boot volumes of same machine?   Ps 11.0.2 Mac PPC  and then...

Hello, I'm new to this forum.
My goal here is to have two different Photoshop 11.0.2 installations on two different boot volumes of one and the same Power Mac (PPC) G5 Quad, one being a Tiger 10.4.11 system and the other one a Leopard 10.5.8 system, for the purpose of installing two different modalities of the same Epson Photo Stylus 2200 printer, one with the printer set to use the photo black ink cartridge for luster and glossy papers, and the other one using the matte blank ink.
This is because I prefer to simply change the startup disk when switching inks rather than having to delete and re-add the necessary printers.  (This particular printer does not support ink cartridge switching under any version of Mac OS X.)
Photoshop is currently only used on this one machine.  Obviously this intended scheme fits well within the EULA conditions.
    My three questions are:
    (a) whether there is any technical issue I have failed to consider,
    (b) whether each copy of Photoshop on the same machine will have to be activated separately (in other words, is the activation tied to the CPU or to the boot volume drive?), and
    (c) if the answer to the latter question is yes, whether this will count as one or two activations for purposes of later installing a single instance of the Photoshop 13.x ("CS6") upgrade on an Intel- MacBook, since obviously C6 will not run on my PPC Mac.  Again in sum, will I be able to continue to run Photoshop 11.0.2 on two different volumes of the same PPC machine and the Photoshop 13.x upgrade on the laptop?
As further explanation, I would use Photoshop 13.x on the Mac-Intel laptop only in order to run ACR 7.x, but would keep my PPC G5 Quad as my photo editing and printing machine running Photoshop 11.0.2, since an upgrade of my desktop machine to a comparably powerful Mac Pro is simply not an option for both financial and technical reasons (the Classic environment is essential).
Any and all input and guidance will be appreciated.

From my previous visits to other forums as a lurker, I was under the firm impression you were in fact an Adobe employee, Mr. Kazlow.  I hope that is still the case and you are only referencing your participation in these user-to-user forums as a volunteer, not as an official representative of the corporation.

  • Does the single user license Leopard allow installation on two Macs?

Does the single user license Leopard OS 10.5 allow installation on two Macs - say my G5 desktop I use at home and the Macbook Pro I take on the road?

Thanks everyone. I don't intend to risk at that… seriously, the problem is many software licenses allow for installation on two computers (one "at home" and the other "at work", for instance) - at least all my recent purchases, mostly music production software such as Finale, Logic, Line 6 stuff and Live. That's why I thought Apple might have been a little more generous at that…
I appreciated everyone's help at clarifying that.

  • Lightroom 5 installation on two PCs

    Hi,
Simple question: If I buy a copy of Lightroom 5, can I install it on both my PC & laptop?

    Hello,
Thank you for the prompt response - this is exactly what I was hoping for.  Main PC being used at home and laptop for when 'out on a shoot'.
    Thanks again.

Yes, the Lightroom License agreement is for one user / owner and allows it to be installed on two computers with the provisio that one one is in use at any point in time. It is cross platform PC &/or Mac. You can install/ uninstall as many times you require provided there are only two in existance.

  • Best practice RAC installation in two datacenter zones?

    Datacenter has two separate zones.
In each zone we have one storage system and one rac node.
We will install RAC 11gR2 with ASM.
For data we want to use diskgroup +DATA, normal redundancy mirrored to both storage systems.
For CRS+Voting we want to use diskgroup +CRS, normal redundancy.
But for CRS+Voting diskgroup with normal redundancy we need 3 luns and we have only 2 storage systems.
I believe the third lun is needed to avoid split brain situations.
If we put two luns to storage #1 and one lun to storage #2, what will happen when storage #1 faills - this means that two of three disks for diskgroup +CRS are unaccessible?
What will happen, when all equipment in zone #1 fails?
Is human intervention required: at failure time, when zone#1 is coming up again?
Is there a best practice for a 2-zone 2-storage rac configuration?
    Joachim

    Hi,
As far as voting files are concerned, a node must be able to access more than the half of the voting files at any time (simple majority). In order to be able to tolerate a failure of n voting files, one must have at least 2n+1 configured. (n= number of voting files) for the cluster.
The problem in a stretched cluster configuration is that most installations only use two storage systems (one at each site), which means that the site that hosts the majority of the voting files is a potential single point of failure for the entire cluster. If the storage or the site where n+1 voting files are configured fails, the whole cluster will go down, because Oracle Clusterware will loose the majority of voting files.
To prevent a full cluster outage, Oracle will support a third voting file on an inexpensive, lowend standard NFS mounted device somewhere in the network. Oracle recommends putting the NFS voting file on a dedicated server, which belongs to a production environment.
Use the White Paper below to accomplish it:

  • Split Single Server Installation into two servers...

    Hello everyone,
We are using OCS 10.1.2.3, SO Linux RHEL 3. We have the infra and apps in a single box installation. All in one and we are using all Collaboration Suite services except Wireless.
We are having a huge performance problem in there. After we start to use Content Services, our Infra Database is growing 10 Gb per month and the app tier is consuming all RAM memory from the server.
So, we are trying to separate the Infra tier from the App tier, in two servers, but we can't find anything, any docs, any articles, any metalink notes, nothing at all!
    So, my question is:
    * Anyone has been through the same situation?
    * Is actually possible to separate the tiers after one year running both tiers on the same server?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paulo.

We have moved our database to new hardware - so I know that portion is possible. We had the two databases for our ocs install in the same RAC environment. We had 3 sets of servers for our install 2 OCS App nodes, 2 IdM nodes, and 2-node RAC DB (holding 2 databases). We moved the IdM databases to a new RAC environment to allow IdM nodes to be up when we need to perform maintenance on OCS App/RAC nodes.
Moving the database required only an update of TNS and OID information that pointed which hosts held the database.

  • After Effect installation on two computers?

I know that the EULA allows for installation of Adobe products on two computers, one at work and the other installation can be at a home or portable computer; as long as the software is not used at the same time.
My question is would installation of the software on an unclassified computer and on a classified computer qualify as the same?
And if so, how could I get Adobe to put that in writing?

What is the difference between a classified and an unclassified computer?
As far as getting Adobe to put something in writing goes, you have it already in the EULA.  If you want to make a special contract with Adobe that is not covered by the EULA you probably need to take it thru Adobe legal channels.  Asking in this forum is not anyplace to be looking for an answer for that.

  • Swapping Oracle 7 installation between two network cards

We have an NT server with two network cards for resiliance. We recently tried to swap over to the second card and run Oracle. Oracle started-up ok, but we could not connect to the database from the Aix/PC clients. The tnsnames.ora points to the hostname of the server not a hardcoded address. The hostfile on both clients and server were updated and the server could be pinged. Is there something built into the initialization config, which points to a specific network card? Any help gratefully recieved.

Is the network up? (sudo ifconfig -a). Can you see eth0?
From a terminal session on the server, can you ping localhost, your ip address, gateway?
OL 5.7 boots the Oracle UEK kernel by default. You can also select the original Red Hat Kernel at startup. Does it make any difference?

  • CS4 Installation on two computers

I've installed CS4 & Lightroom as an upgrade to CS3 on my XP desktop. Is it possible to use the same disks to install CS4 & Lightroom on my Vista laptop (no CS3 & Lightroom installed)?

Yes...you're permitted two activations as long as you're the only one
using both machines and they're not used at the same tim.
Have the CS3 disks and serial number handy.

  • CS4 Production Premium installation on two computers?

I have recently purchased CS4 Production Premium and learned that two activations are permitted.
Can I install Photoshop & Illustrator on one computer (for designer)
and install Soundbooth & Premier on a different computer (for sound engineer) and run these programs simultaneously by two users?
Would this be allowed under the license agreement?

your one license entitles you to two concurrent activations as long as both are on a pc or both on a mac.

  • Software installation on two laptops

Can I legally instal my software on both laptops I own?

    Hi,
If you own, or are the primary user of, a single-user or volume license Adobe product that is installed on a computer at work, you can also install and use the software on one secondary computer of the same platform at home or on a portable computer. However, you may not run the software simultaneously on both the primary and secondary computers.
No more than one user can use a single-user license Adobe product.
Note: AVL customers have to buy two different licenses to use both operating systems, even if they have two different computers. They can only use the same license on another computer (not simultaneously) with the same platform at home.

  • Installation With Two Hard Drives

I would like to install one instance of Arch Linux on both of my hard drives.  Arch recognizes both drives but, during the installation, I seem to only be able to select one.  I realize I could go back later and reformat the second drive after installing on the first, but it would like the OS to perceive the collective disk space as one large drive.  I know Red Hat will install on multiple drives during the setup.  Can Arch?
    Thanks in advance

I'll try to summerize the procedure:
    1. start the system with the installmedia, (if needed: use km to select your keymap and consolefont) and start /arch/setup
    2. prepare harddrive (select: partion harddrive):
1st hdd (depending on the version of the install cd you are using: hda/sda):
    Partition 1: /boot ~100mb, bootable, type=83
Partition 2: swap 256mb - 2g (depending on your needs, the size of your ram and your hdd), type=82
Partition 3: lvm remaining space, type=8e
    2nd hdd (hdb/sdb):
Partition 1: lvm, entire space, type=8e
    3. after that, switch to another terminal (alt + f2) and create the lvm:
    lvm pvcreate /dev/sda3
    lvm pvcreate /dev/sdb1
    lvm vgcreate <some volumegroup name> /dev/sda3
    lvm vgextend <the same volumegroup name> /dev/sdb1
now you can use the following command to add as many logical volumes as you want:
lvm lvcreate --size <size of partition> --name <name of lgocial volume> <volumegroup name as above>
    eg:
lvm lvcreate --size 10G --name root systemname
lvm lvcreate --size 50G --name home systemname
    4. Now switch back to the installer (alt + F1) and select "set filesystem mountpoints". You see a list of partitions which the installer found on your system. And for every logical volume you created there should be an entry named: "/dev/mapper/<volumegroupname>-<name of logical volume>".
First you can select a partition for swap (eg: /dev/sda2)
Then you can select a partition and filesystem for / (eg: /dev/mapper/systemname-root, ext3), /boot (eg: /dev/sda1, ext2) and each other directory for which you created an logical volume (/home, /var, ...).
The rest of the installation should work as with any normal install, except a few things (Some of this is probably allready done by the installer):
You need to enable the lvm2 hook in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf (before filesystems)
    Change USELVM="no" to USELVM="yes" in /etc/rc.conf
Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and change the root parameter in your kernel commandline to something like that: "root=/dev/mapper/<volumegroupname>-<root-volume>"
I hope this isn't written to confusing and helps you.

  • Can someone clarify installation on two pcs?

I have purchased lightroom for a PC.
Now, am I right to assume that anyone can use that software on that PC?
That it is licensed to the PC?
Because at that moment, my wife and I both use the pc as a shared device.
But I would like to place a copy on the wifes laptop, which is her sole use.
    But the license information says:
How many computers are covered by a single license of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3?
Subject to the terms of the software license agreement, the primary user of the computer on which Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 is installed may install a second copy of the software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable computer or a computer located at his or her home, provided that the software on the second computer is not used at the same time as the software on the primary computer. Lightroom is sold as multiplatform software, which means it can be installed on either Mac OS X or Windows.
Now, the computer lightroom is on, does not have a "primary" user.
    It has TWO primary users.
So can I put this on the wifes laptop as well?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mark :-)

We are both primary users on the first pc.

We do not want to break the license agreement.
You can't both be 'primary' users - by definition, primary means 'first'. So the first user is the primary user!

  • Independent Storyline's for video installation with two projections

    Hi Community,
I work on a project where I wish to have two videos played on two different Projectors.
During the process of making them I wish to synchronize them and finaly make two different independent exports from them (somehow like two synchronized Projects)
Any ideas how to do that. I thought about something like independet Storylines. Like that I could make both video-sequences in one project and synchronize them in the timeline and treat them at the end like two independent movies (projects). How can I do that?
Thanks a lot for any answer!

Create the first edit in the Primary Storyline.
Create the second monitor edit in a Secondary Storyline above it.
Select the first clip of the Primary Storyline, resize to 50%, move to the bottom right corner, copy that clip.
Paste Attributes to the rest of the clips in the Primary Storyline for size and position.
Do the same for the Secondary Storyline, except move it to the top left.
Select the first clip in the Prim Storyline, shift-click the last clip, assign the Video role of "Projector 1".
Select the first clip in the Secondary Storyline, shift-click the last clip, assign the Video role of "Projector 2".
When done with the full edit, slect all and reset the Transform section in the Inspector.
Export each Role seperately for each projector.
