Installedl pc2700 ddr but read pc3200

Hi, I' m using
Model Name: PowerBook G4 15"
Model Identifier: PowerBook5,6
Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.2)
Processor Speed: 1.67 GHz
I have 512mb ram that come with powerbook and I just installed 1G pc2700 ddr ram.
Now in "About this Mac:" it reads 1.5 gb memory but the memory seems to display a different speed
Size: 512 MB
Type: DDR SDRAM
Speed: PC2700U-25330
Status: OK
and
Size: 1 GB
Type: DDR SDRAM
Speed: PC3200U-30330
Status: OK
I ran a hardware test and the memory passed. I just wonder why would it display differently when I got the right part, I use OWC memery. And will there be any problem?

All DDR RAM is multi-speed, capable of running both faster and slower than it is designated so this will not be a problem at all.
Also note that the latency on the new stick is different but the RAM running speed is reported as the same.
DDR latency is less critical than older RAM types as it also adjusts to the bus speed, the given rating is at the speed of the stick at it's original rating not at its current speed so, although your CL3 RAM is theorectically slower at PC3200 it will actually be running at a rated CL2.5 at PC2700 speeds.
In essence, ignoring the techie bits, you'll be fine!
