Installing Director Trial Problem

Hello,
I have been attempting to install the Adobe Director 30-Day
Trial to test out the program. Each time I attempt to run the
program (Setup.exe), I receive an initialization loading message.
Click
here
to see it.
And that loads fully. Once that is finished loading the
message disappears and nothing happens. I've checked the CPU
requirements, and my computer meets all of them. Any idea of what
the problem could be?
Thanks!

Find yourself an extracter that supports 7Zip files and
extract the
contents of the installer.
Here's some detailed instructions:
<quote>
a little hint for anybody who likes to test the trial version
on win xp,
but doesn't want it to mess with the registry and overwrite
existing
file type associations for DMX2004 etc. (yet): here a little
tutorial
how you can run it without "real" installation. tested on win
xp pro
sp2, logged in as admintrator.
1. either run "Director_WWE.exe" and let it extract
everything to a
temporary folder (and then quit the installer), or, much
faster, use the
"7-Zip file manager" (or any other uncompress tool that
supports 7-zip
compression) and only extract the folder "\Adobe Director
11\payloads\AdobeDirector11en_US\" from "Director_WWE.exe"
2. move the folder "AdobeDirector11en_US" to C:\ (otherwise
there might
be problems with too long pathes), (and delete the rest of
the extracted
files if you expanded the complete exe)
3. open a DOS box in "C:\AdobeDirector11en_US" and enter
msiexec /a AdobeDirector11en_US.msi /qb TARGETDIR=c:\dir11tmp
this will extract the Adobe Director 11 folder to
"C:\dir11tmp\program files\Adobe\Adobe Director 11"
4. done! now you can put the "Adobe Director 11" folder
whereever you
like (and delete C:\dir11tmp) , e.g. to "C:\Adobe Director
11", and just
run "Director.exe" by double-clicking.

  • Installing Director 11 Trial

Hello I am contacting you on a problem with adobe director 11
trial version. I downloaded the program 2 days ago and unpacked it
to my desktop. Once it was unpacked I went into the folder and ran
the program "Setup.exe" which should install adobe onto my system.
Once this has ran I select the destination that I wish the program
to be installed in and it only installs the shared components but
doesn't install Director 11. It says after the shared components
has been installed that Director 11 component failed to install. I
was wondering if you could help me with this problem. I have
downloaded director 11 again and it still doesn't work.
I am running Windows Vista 32-bit OS and I meet system
    requirements.
Thank you and hope you can help fix the problem.

    Hi trippii,
First, this forum while hosted by Adobe, is not an official
    source of technical
support. Occasionally Adobe staff will post here. Mostly,
    Director users will
    reply,
To your question, have you seen the D11 Installation Technote
    for Vista? It is at:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403191&sliceId=1
There are known issues with installation and so hopefully the
    Technote will give
    you the answers you're after.

Fresh install of trial version of Captivate 8 on OS X 10.9.3 - no previous version of Captivate on machine.  I've got lots of crashing to desktop problems right off the bat.  Is there a patch available?  I work at a University and we're evaluating for online courseware - my last experience with Captivate was 5.0.  Anyone else experience this with the trial download?

    Hi there,
There is no difference in terms of usage and features between a trial version and a licensed version.
Could you tell me do you get any specific error message when it crashes, or does it crash while using a particular feature, or is it random?
Can you also try with a different user account (admin) on your MAC, check if it behaves same there?
    Thanks.

  • Problem installing PSE trial

I am trying to install the trial version of PSE.  I have downloaded both the .7z and .exe files and placed them in the same folder.  When I try to install, I receive a message stating that the archive files are missing and I need to download all parts.  Any suggestions about what I am doing wrong?

    Hi,
Are you double clicking on the exe file to run it?
The smaller exe file is an extracting program that unpacks the contents of the 7z file to another location. The installation should then start from there automatically.

  • Trying to install Director 11 on windows 7 64-bit

I am upgrading to a new computer which has a version of 64-bit windows 7.  However, I can't seem to install a version of director 11 that I have on to it in any way that works properly. I"m assuming that there's a 32bit/64bit issue going on here.
Right now, it says it installs fine, but where I try to run the program, nothing happens. Running the task manager, it shows up in the processes tab, however, it doesn't show up in the Application tab.
To further the pain, the version I am currently running on my old machine is director 11.5. However, I do not have the installer files for that version locally, and the only downloadable version available on Adobe's site is for version 12...which I don't need to pay the upgrade for. ANy ideas on how I can find the 11.5 upgrade files?
    Thanks.

Best solution to install Director 11/11.5 not to program files or program files(x86) in Vista/7/8 .
Create a folder c:\Director or c:\myprogs\director and install it there.
Then you will have not the security problems of system controled folders.
If you bought your Dir 11.5 in the online store, you should have a downloadlink in your orderhistory

  • Trying to install a trial and all I get is Adobe Air agreement

I am trying to install a trial version of Flash CS5.5 and when I click the download button it brings up the adobe air agreement. I click I agree and thats it. I dont get asked to sign in or anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the download assistant numerous times and nothing is still happening. I even tried a different trial and the same results. I downloaded a different trial just a couple days ago and had no issues. I noticed that the trial site was down earlier today, are there problems that could be being caused by whatever the issue was there? I am buying a suite on the first, but need this trial to get through the next two weeks of my flash class. Any help would be great. I have Windows 7.

  • Alert when installing CS4 trial suite on Windows 7

    Hi,
When I try to install CS4 trial software on Windows 7 Family Premium I get a message saying I do not have Windows XP 64 bits or Vista 64 bits and I should upgrade my system...  How come?
I have a new Toshiba laptop with 4gb of RAM and 500Gb of HD.
I see setup.exe dates back from September 2008 so it is not surprising Windows 7 is not recognized.  Should I install anyway?
    Thank you for your help.

    Thank you for your time.
Yes the message is about upgrading to Vista or XP because the requirements are not satisfied.  But I have Windows 7 Home Premium...
Here is a copy of the message:
The minimum system requirements listed below are recommended in order to  run Adobe Creative Suite CS4 properly and are not met:
Windows XP  64-Bit Service Pack 1 and greater
Windows Vista 64-Bit Service Pack 1 and greater
It is  recommended that you upgrade or adjust your system to meet these minimum  requirements and the restart the installer.
I finally decided to continue the install and it seemed ok.  The only problem I have is with Dreamweaver because I cannot put the right root folder in the website setup dialog (I select the right folder but it writes the folder above it).

  • Trying to install Illustrator trial version

I have been attempting to install the trial version of Illustrator CS4 for a couple of hours.  It is telling me that it cannot install until I close all open programs, namely Adobe Bridge.  Adobe Bridge is  not open and I even restarted my computer to make sure of this.  However, it is still saying that installation cannot continue until Adobe Bridge is closed.  Has anybody had this problem?  What do I do?

    scrpbkr,
You may try to use the CS4 CleanScript, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html.
You may try to run the installation in safe mode, if applicable.
If you still get the error, you may consider taking a turn with the CS3 installation, if any; it has its own CS3 CleanScript., http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html.

  • Just trying to install a trial...

Hi, I've been trying to, for the past 5 days get the trial for the CS3 Master Suite installed. A friend owns it and we noticed that it offers the option to install a trial so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out and see if I would want to buy it as well.
It appears to install just fine, no problems, no errors, but when I launch any of the applications I get 'Product License has Expired.'
Looking in the knowledge base the 'solution' essentially appears to be, uninstall, run the cleaner, reboot, re-install, hope it works.
And so we followed those directions. 14 times. Along with manually hunting in the registry for all things having any remote association with Adobe, the only thing I haven't done is format my hard-drive
We tried to install it as a trial on another computer, it did not work there as well, however we can get the Photoshop CS2 trial installed on 4 different computers with no problem whatsoever. It's just anything with 'CS3' on it that gives us trouble. Does anyone know what to do? I really really really don't want to format for one single software suite that's not gaurunteed to work even after that.
From seeing it used it seems to have some nice improvements but it's looking like I won't be experiencing them.

Are you sure it's not more like eight days?
    See if this helps:

  • Please help!!! I can't install CS4 Trial...

I followed the instructions to a T and when I click on the PS symbal that says setup, it won't do nothing. I tried it on my laptop but it won't work on my sons computer for him to try out the software.
    Anyone have any other suggestions?
By the way, I am not running a 64 bit computer so I think I am safe. My sons computer is a about 5 yrs old.
    Thanks a million,
    Melissa

Well, FIND IT, FLANG BLAMMIT!!! :) XD
    Found it here:

    Some info:

    Some discussion here:
    http://photography-forum.org/showthread.php?t=11397
If it helped you, it may help others. I didn't make the request and ask the questions I did for myselfI'm a Maccer and have no plans to upgrade from PS CS2 any time soon.
That said, though, the problem you stated, and the info you gave, the solution that worked for you...after reading this thread several times, I can't help but feel that there have to be some important details that have been left out. What they are I have no clue about.
But getting from "Can't Install a trial version" to "I fixed it by running a script"one that, on the surface, doesn't even seem to be meant to address the problem you were havinghas left me scratching my head. The "DropletFixer.vbs" script was created before PS CS4 was even released.
But, hey...if it worked, it worked!

  • Can't install Adobe trials!

I had problems installing trials, so I formatted my computer, and these are the programs I've installed before installing any Adobe products:
    Firefox
    Irfanview
    Winamp
    Skype
    Live messenger
    Kaspersky security suite
    Babylon
    Google Talk
    Ashampoo burning studio
    Foxit reader
    Microsoft office 2007
First I tried to install the trials straight away, and after it failed I tried to to disable all the programs running in the background (including Kaspersky), but still the installation failed.
I could not think of any solution, since I've formatted my computer (restored Vista on my laptop - HP pavilion dv9000). What else can I do?
Before formatting I used the CS3 and CS4 scripts to remove and remnants, but still it didn't work..

Mmh, it's still somewhat inconclusive. What happens is definitely that it cannot register the PCD, the core part of the serial number and activation system. Until that point everything seems to be going fine, then it rolls back the install. This still could mean that it doesn't like your restored partition somehow. It's just not clear why and since it doesn't really say what's going on beyond session dependencies not being satisfied, I can't really give you any pointers. Short of a full low-level format and re-install of the operating system there seems no way to resolve this. Funnily, this most certainly will resolve itself with a full install. You could of course have one last look through the knowledge base regarding the various 1603 errors, but I didn't see any of your current software being flagged as an offending app, so this may be a far cry....
