Installing i-Pod/i-Tunes with multiple desktop identities

Can anybody help with this problem please? When I try to install the standard software using the cd-rom provided with my new i-Pod, 2 separate error messages repeatedly come up at different points in the process, depending on how far it gets. The first one (code 1904 I think) refers to the already-installed i-Pod/i-Tunes on my sister's desktop identity. (This is also a fairly new installation). The puzzling thing is that her i-Tunes works perfectly, but I still can't install my own dedicated software (we don't want to share our music files on a single installation).
My sister is also reluctant to uninstall her software as part of the solution to my problem, since she has over 700 songs on it already. The second error report (much further on in the Setup process) states :- error no. 0x800400707 description : Dll function call crashed : ISRT.VerGetFile Version. Setup will now terminate. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Installing ITS on a host with MULTIPLE IP'S

i need to install the 4 ITS instances (Admin, R/3,B/W & SEM) on on ehost with 4 IP's.... each IP has been assigned to a web site on the IIS (which will be used to access the ITS)...
how do i do this ???????

You can either use different IP addresses for each ITS instance or use port numbers to differentiate the instances. When you install ITS, simply specify the website it gonna reside. Since you are hosting 4 instances with different IPs on the same box, you need to udate the hosts files with these information for proper name resolution and also in DNS if you may use in your organization.

Managing dual monitor with multiple desktops

After updating to Lion, I set my macbook up with a few different desktops so I could easily swipe between them instead of searching for the windows I needed. I just set up a second monitor to my mac and noticed that anytime I swipe to a different desktop, both monitors change. Is there a way to "freeze" one while the other moves? Or better yet, can I set up my second monitor to only have one desktop while my mac still has 2 or more?

Final Cut Pro installed on an image interfearing with multiple LDAP Binds??

Hi guys, have an issue here a bit different from anything I have been able to find concerning binding to LDAP.
The situation is this: I am tasked with administering about 90 iMac's and 3 xServes in 3 labs in our school district. 30 of these machines have Final Cut Pro installed. Therefore I have 2 images created and successfully served by one of our xServes. The other xServe is didicated to Open Directory, and the 3rd is just a file share server. The non Final Cut Images have been applied and bound to LDAP and AD successfully, however, when it come sto the images WITH Final Cut Pro, I was only able to bind one machine to LDAP. The remainig machines tell me that the object allready exists (which it should not because these are all new machines and have never been bound, imaged, or configured in any way prior to this) and it gives me the option to "Overwrite". When I choose overwrite, it creates the machine in Workgroup Manager, but never bindes the machine to LDAP and gives me an "Unknown Error".
Now it seems to me, that this is a problem specific to Final Cut Pro. What do you guys suggest?
It is worth mentioning that we do have a vollume license for FC Pro and it is the default installation with no modifacations made to the install configuration.

KDE: Taskbar is not (left) clickable with multiple Desktops

I don't know exactly the time, when this problem appeared. I guess since any KDE update.
Well, if I increase the number of desktops to more than one, the left click stops working on the task bar. I can't click on minimized windows or symbols in the tray. Right click works though. If I reduce the number of desktops, left click on the task bar works again.
Has anyone the same problem? Or a fix? Thank you.

Installing windows games with multiple discs

When I am trying to install a windows PC game with multiple discs, the install starts out ok, then it asks to insert disc #2. I'm using a Mac Mini, booted into Windows XP SP3. Since there is no manual disk eject button like on a PC machine, how can I eject the current disc in the Mini disk drive to be able to insert the next installation disc?

I guess when you boot into windows the disc eject key on the apple keyboard doesn't work. But, I found a solution! While installing the game and the message screen came up to install the next disc, I hit the apple/cmd key on my apple keyboard and it brought up the WinXP Start menu. I then opened up the My Computer window and right-clicked on the CD drive, clicked on eject and the disc popped out! I inserted the next disc and the install continued automatically.
I love being able to run Windows on my Mac. It makes using Windows sometimes almost bearable.

Switching between multiple desktops while using VNC

Hi All,
Encountering a minor inconvenience with switching between desktops while VNC-ing. I frequently telecommute and VNC into my work imac, which has parallels + windows 7 installed. My personal machine is a retina macbook pro, and both my macbook and the imac have the newest mavericks installed. I will frequently have multiple desktops open on my imac, but I find that when I am VNC-ing into the imac and then open up parallels in a full window that I am then unable to switch back to my other OS X desktops unless I completely shutdown my windows VM. Normally hotkeys works for me to switch between desktops (and still works when switching from OS X window to OS X window), but it just doesn't do the trick here. I know could just configure my imac so that parallels doesn't open up in full screen mode, which would solve the issue, but I feel like there's gotta be a way to switch desktops while VNC-ing! All tips appreciated!

This is possible using access restrictions in Universe designer based on user login.
For eg. there is user A,B and C and three connections C1,C2 and C3.
In Manage access restrictions you have to create a three restrictions(R1,R2 and R3): one using C1,second C2 and third C3.
Apply these three restrictions to corresponding to the users. i.e. R1-->A,R2-->B and R3-->C.
So based on user login the instance will be used for same report.
In IDT , I think this can be done using Data Level Security, but the concept wil be same.

Swipe up with 4 fingers, or press F3 (or fn+F3 depending on how you have your keyboard configured)
At the top of your screen should be all your desktops simply hover your mouse around the top left area of one of them (apart from the first one) and a X will appear which you can click to close it

How do I view multiple desktops/Spaces in a single screen?

I'm used to viewing a large TV with multiple desktops simultaneously in an operating room. I'm wondering if it's possible to separate a TV I have connected to my early 2011 MacBook Pro into four separate desktops (e.g. dividing the TV into 4 quadrants)? I'm assuming there's no legitimate workup using OS X Yosemite but it'd be great to know if anyone has done this before. Thanks.

With Multiple Management Services, How BIg Is Your Shared Filesystem?

I am installing Grid Control 11.1 with multiple OMSs. Oracle uses a shared filesystem in this configuration for load balancing and fault tolerance. I want to know from anyone who has installed multiple OMSs: how much storage does Grid Contorl use in the shared file system in your implementation. Please also state how many targets are monitored. Thanks.

The size of the shared location is dependent upon:
1. How quickly agent files are processed - If your OMS are going to be down for awhile, size the location to support storing the files until processing can being and catch-up. The files are small but depending on the number of targets this can add up.
2. Usage of provisioning - Ensure you size to support all the various files used in your provisioning
We have several hundred targets, two OMS, and make limited usage of provisioning (software and agent installation images). We allocated an NFS share of 50GB but typical usage is <20GB, with 95% of that is due to the provisioning files.

Problem with multiple instances of shared printers being installed on client computers when the spooler service is started

We have Windows Server 2012 and clients using Windows 8. We've been having some printer problems for awhile now that I haven't been able to figure out for the life of me. The main problem is the fact that printers are installed on computers automatically
once the drivers are installed. The side-effect of multiple instances of each printer showing up is very annoying but I suspect fixing the initial problem will resolve this secondary one.
Here is the rundown:
We add the shared printers on logon to the clients using the GPO thus installing the drivers locally.
Whenever the spooler on the client is restarted with the drivers installed, all of the
shared printers that were previously installed get duplicated 5 more times (for a total of 6 instances of each shared printer) on the "Devices and Printers" page. This happens
all the time.
Removing them only fixes the issue temporarily, as soon as the spooler or computer is restarted, it seems these shared printers are somehow found on the network and the duplicates return.
Two of these printers are located on different clients, installed locally and shared while the other three are all installed on a server and shared through it. The issue is the same on all of them.
Cleaning the spooler completely (registry and files from C:\system32\spool) fixes the issue temporarily as well since, as soon as the drivers are reinstalled, the issue occurs again.
I've tried many things (disabling the GPO, editing the GPO, printer shares, registry, etc.) and searched tirelessly online for a cause and solution but I'm stumped. Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this problem and how to resolve it?

Update #1: I just tried adding the NoNetCrawling option in the registry found in this article -> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320138/en-us
I couldn't find the same for Windows 8 unfortunately. I also tried disabling network discovery and all other sharing options to no avail.
Update #2: I tried isolating the computer to a different subnet and restarting the spooler and, sure enough, the issue didn't occur. This proves that the issue is network share related. Also, as soon as I change the IP back to the regular domain
subnet one, the multiple printer instances re-appeared again.
Update #3: I just tried doing the same thing but on the server where the printers are installed and shared and, sure enough, despite being in a different subnet, the issue occurred. This leads me to believe there is a setting on this server at fault.
Question is, which one?

We have deployed a brand new Active Directory domain for a customer. ALL the servers without exception are Windows 2012 R2 and all clients are Windows 8.1 32bit VDI clients.
The issue that we have is around network printers.
We are deploying 4 printers from a Windows 2012 R2 Server via the print management/Deploy Printer and assigning that to a GPO. The printers are deployed to the Computers which should mean that the users get all 4 printers which they then should be allowed
to set their default and personal settings for that printer.
Our printers are deployed like this:
1. Created security group
2. Assigned VDI computers to the security group
3. Created GPO to reflect security group
4. Modify GPO to do security filtering based on computer group membership
5. Deployed 4 x printers through Print Management to the GPO on a per machine basis
However, on the users Devices and Printers screen we are not seeing the 4 printers. For some users
they see duplicates of all 4 printers so e.g they can have upwards of 8 or more. Other users have no printers displayed whatsoever. The next time they log off or restart they then have a different amount of printers displayed.
If they try and set the default then it will set and the next time they check the default may have moved to another printer even without logging off or back on.
Now, where this gets strange is within an application such as MS Word 2013 or Notepad if they use the file and print menu the printers will be listed, even if the user has no printers displayed in Devices and Printers. If the users selects a printer then they
can then print OK.
If we check HKCU\Printers||Connections then the CORRECT 4 printers are showing as to what is being deployed via the GPO so I know that the Windows 8.1 terminals are receiving the correct printers from the GPO.
To try and correct this over the course of the week we have deployed the printers via Group Policy Preferences to the user and then the PC to no avail. Currently we are using the Print management\Deployed Printers to deploy all 4 printers to the computer via
the Computer GPO.
I believe that this issue is related to the display somehow in Devices and Printers rather than a GPO or print server issue as we can see via the registry the clients are receiving the 4 correct mentioned printers as shown in the registry.
FYI: We only have around 30 users and all users are getting this problem. All users are receiving the same GPO's and have the same few apps installed, Office 2013, Adobe Reader etc.
What we want is for the computers to receive all 4 printers. All users should be able to use all 4 printers but the user should be able to select their particular default, depending where they are located or what they are printing that particular day. Their
particular default should persist after reboot. (We have 2 x Copiers and 2 x HP Laserjets) All users have redirected documents and desktop but the rest of the profile is on the VDI and persists after their reboot. The profile is not roaming as the user is
assigned a particular VDI.
After a week of scratching our heads with this we are open to suggestions and any would be appreciated.
We have tried following the issues on this thread to no avail either as they still return.

I-Pod is synced with another I-Tunes libary

Hi. I'm having troubles with my i-pod classic (120 GB). My i-pod was synced with my Windows XP verion of i-tunes but i had a computer crash and had to install Windows 7 and could not de-authorised my pod before starting installing Windows 7.
After i installed Windows 7 version of i-tunes and tried to get my i-pod to talk to i-tunes for Windows 7 so i can transfer my stuff from pod to i-tunes. But it didn't work. I tried the deauthorised all button in my account in hopes of it working but it didn't work.
I have my past purchased music back on i-tunes but would really like to copy or transfer my other songs from pod over to i-tunes without having to load them 1 by 1.
Please help if you can. Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

How to tune performance of a cube with multiple date dimension?

I have a cube where I have a measure. Now for a turn time report I am taking the date difference of two dates and taking the average, max and min of the date difference. The graph is taking long time to load. I am using Telerik report controls.
Is there any way to tune up the cube performance with multiple date dimension to it? What are the key rules and beset practices for a cube to perform well?
