Installing new Agent, can't configure databases

Linux x86-64 is where the agent is installed 10.2.0.4, OMS 10.2.0.5 on windows server. When I log into OEM, all the databases that I'm trying to monitor are in a status of "Unknown." When I try to click on the database to configure it, I get the following error:
oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.CommException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
I also get this same error when I try to go under --> Setup --> Agents --> Targets Not Configured --> then click on the target I want to configure.
In emagent.log it says the following:

Also OEM has found the listener, that is being monitored ... Does the dbsnmp user password on the databases being monitored have to be the same as the OMS dbsnmp password? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No the DBSNMP password of the OMS database does not need to be the same as the DBSNMP password of your monitored databases.
You can set the DBSNMP password for each of your local databases as follows:
Go to Targets --> All Databases
Select the database and press [Configure]
Enter the DBSNMP password and press [Test Connection]
If you see that the test completed successful, you can do [Next], [Submit]

Installed new burner-can't find burner

Installed new burner and updated Itunes in past 2 weeks. Today noticed that I can't burn. Itunes still shows my old burner (liteon) and not my new burner (Benq). Uninstalled itunes, reinstalled after restart it still shows up in itunes as a liteon and it will not find the new Benq.
Tried to add Benq to Cfg. file as noted in other areas but still not help.
Any suggestion or where else do we go for help?

HT1420 Hard Drive crash, installed new drive, can't de-authorize, iTunes thinks it is a new PC. Any ideas?

I recently had a new HDD installed in my PC. Obviously iTunes thinks this is a new PC now becuase of a fresh OS install. How can I de-authorize the PC iTunes recognizes so I can authorize PC with new HDD? I am at my 5 device limit. (I am running Windows Vista 64)

Try individually deauthorizing it even if iTunes thinks it isn't authorized. If that doesn't work, use the Deauthorize All function.

Installing EM12c: Installer can't find database host name....?

Hello all,
I'm trying to install EM12c. I'm near the last steps, alll requirements passed.
I have a fresh install of 11.2.0.3 database on a second host, listening for connections.
But the EM12c installer keeps error'ing out saying it cannot find the host name for the database server.
I can ping that same server name (I've quadruple checked to make sure it is right)....I've cut from the installer and pasted into a ssh session both as root and oracle user on the target GRID/EM install server...it pings just fine.
ON the database server, I've done tnsping..and it shows listener is up, I've entered valid ports and host name.
ON the target EM server, I've even entered in the /etc/hosts file...the IP and server name....still to no avail.
Any suggestions out there on what else to check? I have downloaded and using the latest EM12c install media...I downloaded it about 2x weeks ago...so, should be latest patched version.

Oracle Grid Control 10.2.0.3 can´t configure databases

I installed the Grid Agent (10.2.0.5) in host1 for monitoring the database (10.2.0.5) inside him. I did the same in host2, that has Agent (11.1.0.1) and Database (11.2.0.2). Both Agents are pointing to the same Grid Control Management Server.
Grid control has a separated server with Grid Control OMS and Agent installed (10.2.0.3).
This host1 was added to the grid control target hosts, and the database too. The secure option is disabled.
First Problem: metrics collection error in Grid Control for database target.
My Solution: Deconfigured the Oracle DBControl in host1 and host2 (it was configured with a local repository) dropping the repository, and I used | emca -config agent | to create a link to the agent in local machine.
New state: Now the OEM show the targets apparently been monitored. When a target fall down the OEM send allerts normally.
Second Problem: When I click in a host, database, listener, or any of the targets, intending the log in the instance it take about 5 minutes and returns: "No Response from Application Web Server There was no response from the application web server for the page you requested. Please notify the site's webmaster and try your request again later. "
My solution: I didn´t find one. HELP!
For coincidence, all databases actually monitored (8) are 10.2.0.4 or down. All of these can be managed by click in target names by OEM. Could it be the version of the new databases?

Hello.
We already have Grid Control 10.2.0.4 and just installed AD4J 10.2.0.4. This version of AD4J is not integrated with Grid Control, and can be setup on any server by unzipping the downloaded file (no installer). I did find the installation/configuration documentation lacking, but worked through it with a little help from Oracle Support.
The AD4J console has the look and feel of Grid Control, but is totally separate app with its own Apache server, etc.

PC crashed, installed new HD, can't get songs

Our laptop crashed and required a new hard drive to be installed. I of course had to reinstall itunes and lost everything in my library. But I had music in my iphone from the previous computer. Now I cant get access to any of those songs. I can see them but am unable to play them. Plus I cant add any songs that I have copied from discs onto my iphone either. What can I do?

Where is your backup copy of your music? Just use it to put the music on the new hd.
The iphone will sync with ONE library at a time. Since you have a new hard drive, it is a new library. When you sync the iphone, it will indeed erase the music/pics/vids from the iphone, then replace with content from the new hard drive.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( terrible idea), then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases

Yes. Only it's necessary to add the full qualified name and IP adress in /etc/hosts and to check that the /etc/nsswitch.conf file resolve in the order file hosts .
It was the Metalink Team that saw to me : "it's necessary to working the nslookup correctly to work good the communication between the oms and the agent"
But its not true. Not its necessary.

HELP! Installed new itunes/can't open Istore

HELP!
I just downloaded the new itunes 8.2 and now am unable to open the itunes store. We do not have McAfee or Norton as far as I can tell. I can still get on the internet and the IStore was working before I installed the new itunes. I have tried all the suggestions from apple and itunes, including clearing DNS cache, turning off firewall, shutting entire system down, and uninstalling itunes and re-installing it. I still get the following message:"I- tunes could not connect to the I tunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again." My internet is working fine, so the connection is being made. I ran the diagnostics test and the report said the following:

When i install P6_R82_Client_Applications, it can not create database file

Hi,
It sounds like you have run into a pretty common problem of installing the application from inside the zip file.
I would recommend uninstalling both P6 and Oracle XE, then make sure you unzip the install files before running the setup.exe application again
Make sure you use setup.exe and not P6-professional.msi as it will not install the per-requisites like java that it needs to create the database.

Installed new iTunes, can't see songs located on ext. drive w/o importing!

The hard disk in my laptop recently failed. Luckily, I had my iTunes backed up on my external drive. Now that I have a new internal drive, I'm trying to get iTunes to access the library of music from the external drive.
I already know how to change where iTunes looks for the music library in the Advanced Preferences of iTunes, as I've done that. The problem is, there is no index of the songs in my music library when I open iTunes: no songs are listed when I click to see what's in the library. I don't want to load all of the mp3s, etc., from my external drive onto my new internal drive, because I want to save space.
This worked before my internal hard drive crashed, because all of the song titles and albums were still listed in my iTunes library when I moved the actual mp3s to my external drive... since my hard drive crashed and I reinstalled iTunes, it shows nothing in the library, even though I linked iTunes to my external drive music file folder via Advanced Pref in iTunes.
Anybody able to help?

Correct. You need to add the songs to iTunes.
iTunes does not watch a folder to see what is in it.
Do this;
iTunes prefs -> Advanced.
Set the location of the iTunes music folder to where your music is on the external drive.
Now go to File -> Add folder to library an dpick this folder.
It will put the music into iTunes library and the music will stay/go where you set the iTunes prefs to.

New login can't access database via SSMS

I created my Azure database “MyDatabase” and established admin login “MyAdmin” at that time via the Azure management website.
Now I want to create an application login and user “MyUser” to access the data. But, when I did the below I still cannot connect via SSMS. I get error:
Cannot open database “master” requested by the login.
I’m just trying to get to the tables under MyDatabase via SSMS. What am I doing wrong please?

CREATE LOGIN myuser WITH password=‘Blah$Blah$Etc’

Thank you for reaching out. You might be connecting to the wrong database (master instead of the user DB). In the 'Connect to Server' window in SSMS, click the 'Options' button. Then enter the name of the database ("MyDatabase"
in your case) in the 'Connect to database' field and then try to connect.

There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files. Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

Just installed Premiere and can not open a new project, database error

Everytime I try to open a new project i get a Database is "Failed to perform the database operation as the Organizer database is busy. Please try again later."
Anyone had this problem yet?

Of prime importance...what version of Premiere Elements are you working with and on what computer operating system is it running on?
So, right now a lot of generalizations
1. Close all opened projects and programs.
2. Right click the Taskbar at the bottom of computer desktop to bring up Task Manager/Processes. Look for and End Process for any traces of Premiere Elements and/or Elements Organizer whose process remained opened after you closed the program.
3. Open Premiere Elements to its Splash screen where hopefully you will see tabs for Organizer and Video Editor. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys of the computer main keyboard (altogether) as you do a left mouse click hold down on the Organizer tab for about 15 seconds. After that time, release just the mouse click hold down. Wait for a message about deleting the preferences/settings file. Click Yes to the message that should appear. Unhold the Ctrl+Alt+Shift, and then click on Organizer or Video Editor and try to open the Video Editor or Elements Organizer sections of the program without error.
4. Did that work for you? If not, please supply more details.
