Integration of ContentDB Dev Kit with JDev

Hi All,
I have downloaded "Oracle Content DB Developer Kit". I have worked with JDeveloper 10g earlier.
Can any one suggest how to integrate the CDB Dev Kit with JDeveloper 10g.
Thank you

Hi,
Everything you need to know is included in the documentation found in the devkit.
Specifically, from the table of contents, click on "Compiling and Running Code Samples".
Scroll down and you will find a section on using JDeveloper for EventHandlers which talks about the jar file you must import from the server.
cheers
Matt.
Using JDeveloper for EventHandler Implementations
The Content DB Developer Kit and API Samples package also includes two additional JDeveloper projects for editing and compiling server plug-ins (EventHandler implementations):
jdev/server1012.jpr
jdev/server1013.jpr
These project files have their library paths pre-configured to include the lib/db-devkit-server.jar from the the developer kit package. The projects also require the content.jar file to be present in the lib directory of the developer kit package, so you must copy the $ORACLE_HOME/content/lib/content.jar from the Content DB server into the lib directory of the developer kit package.
There are two deploy files under the jdev directory of the developer kit package:
jdev/server1012/server1012.deploy
jdev/server1013/server1013.deploy
When using the corresponding project in JDevleoper, you can right click on the deploy resource to automatically generate a handlers.jar file. This will contain the compiled sample EventHandler classes. The handlers.jar file is genereated in the jdev/server1012 or jdev/server1013 directory, depending on the version of JDeveloper you are using.
To deploy the developer kit server libraries and EventHandler sample implementations onto the Content DB server, copy the generated handlers.jar file and the lib/cdb-devkit-server.jar from the developer kit package onto the Content DB server. Then expand both jar files into the $ORACLE_HOME/content/custom_classes directory, using the jar -xvf command.

  • AIR for TV Dev Kit stuck on 2.5?

Is it possible to upgrade the AIR for TV dev kits given away at MAX 2010?
In general, I'm not finding a whole lot on building AIR applications for TV.  I do see emulated tv remote control buttons when adding this application descriptor tag to a Flex 4.5 project
    <supportedProfiles>tv</supportedProfiles>
Once I compile my application for release as an .airi file it installs on the dev kit but the app instantly halts without doing what it does in the desktop emulated debugger.
I think I need to update the dev kit with AIR 2.6 but not sure how to do that or if it is even possible?
I guess I will try and put an AIR 2.5 sdk on my laptop or something and try to build it that way for now...

I found this in my notes so I thought I'd post it here in case someone else is searching for this...
UPGRADE THE AIR FOR TV SYSTEM SOFTWARE ON THE ADOBE AIR FOR TV MAX 2010 HARDWARE DEVICE
You'll need to obtain and install the latest version of Adobe AIR for TV system software so you can be sure your development is based on the most up to date technology from Adobe
The latest version of Adobe AIR for TV system software is available from http://www.adobe.com/go/airtvinstaller
Adobe may regularly update the software at either this location or at http://prerelease.adobe.com
If you wish to receive email notifications of Adobe AIR for TV system software updates, send an email to [email protected]
Download the file with a name similar to 'stagecraft--2.5.0.1804.20100928--bcm--max2010--release--installer.bin' from http://www.adobe.com/go/airtvinstaller to your computer. The name of the Adobe AIR for TV software installer file will likely be slightly different from the one shown here, since it will contain the current version number. Once it has downloaded, rename the file 'installer.bin' NOTE: You may want to save an extra copy of the new AIR for TV system software file before you rename it.
Place the file 'installer.bin' at the root of a USB flash drive.  NOTE: The Adobe MAX 2010 AIR for TV Development Kit does not include a USB flash drive, so you will need to provide your own.
Turn off the Adobe AIR for TV unit using the switch on the surge protector.
Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the back of the Adobe AIR for TV unit.
Turn the unit back on using the switch on the surge protector and wait a moment or two.  The system software will automatically install from the USB flash drive to the AIR for TV unit.  When it is complete, your TV screen should display the Adobe AIR splash screen followed by a welcome note that instructs you to take the USB flash drive out of the AIR for TV device.
Turn off the unit and remove the USB flash drive.
Turn the unit back on.  In a moment, you will see the Adobe AIR for TV splash screen followed by the App Launcher.  Use the unit's remote control to navigate to the DevMaster application and open it.  You will see the AIR for TV version number, which should be the same as the version number in the AIR for TV installer file you downloaded in Step 1.  This will confirm that you are now running the latest version of Adobe AIR for TV system software.  You can also find the version number in the About AIR for TV tab of the App Market.  You're now ready to run AIR applications on AIR for TV.

  • Why is there still no Reports integration with JDev (9.0.3)

    see http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/JDEV1/index.html
This doesn't work since the Reports feature disappeared with the 'upgrade' to JDev 9.0.3.
When will this integration be reestablished?
One step forward and three steps backwards doesn't improve productivity or customer satisfaction.

    Hi James
You can't integrate Reports with JDev 9.0.3 for time-being. The way an add-in gets installed changed pretty dramatically in JDev 9.0.3. So, you'll need to wait until 9iDS 9.0.4.
You install a iDS version of JDev you will get the Reports JSP wizards, etc.

We have a setup where our Enterprise Portal is Plone. Is there a BOBJ Integration Kit with Plone, or one for opensource in general, or should we use the SAP PIK and link the SAP Portal to Plone for this purpose?

    Hi,
i`m not aware of any PIK for Plone. The easiest way would be to place a HTTP Link in your Portal to BI LaunchPad or SAP EP.
You could create an OSS Message with the SAP Support to check if there is a PIK....but i dont think so.

    Hello Carla,
The link indicated by Philipp just move to this URL
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/GettingStarted/index/index.html. (Sorry for that)
Watch the Reports/JDev integration viewlets in the demonstration section.
To be able to execute a Reports JSP from JDev you should be in the JDeveloper of the 9iDS. (9i Developer Suite). You can also check you Jdev 'Run' property to check if the Embeded OC4J server starts with all IIOP parameter. (FYI:a Reports JSP communicate with the Reports Server using Corba)
    1. Right click on you project in the system navigator
    2. Choose 'Project Setting'
    3. In the Runner Entry you should have a Java option like :
    -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB
(This option is automaticaly added if you select New, Reports JSP from JDeveloper)

  • Strange behaviour with JDev 10.1.3.1 thru 10.1.3.3 creating JSP using CDB

    Greetings,
I am experiencing a strange problem developing some simple JSPs using the Content DB libraries. It happens on JDev 10.1.3.1, 10.1.3.2, and 10.1.3.3.
I don't know if its my environment or something else. If your in for a mystery then this one is for you.
All JSPs, Backing Beans, and supporting class all compile without a problem.
JSPs run and data is displayed as expected. All seems fine.
    Problem:
When I go back to the JSP and click on it to open (for work), JDev just hangs up. Have to go into Task Manager to Kill process.
    Work Around:
Back in JDev before I click to open JSP, I clean out the compiled classes. Then click on JSP and it pops right up?!?!
Has something to do with Content DB libs?
I go back to the backing bean and Comment out all calls to any CDB APIs within the methods. The overall structure of the backing bean is intact but it renders the JSP useless of course. But the after I compile (without errors) the NO CDB API version, I click on the JSP; it opens right up in JDev.
Ok, what I did not tell you yet. The missing key to this mystery.
I'm working on my local desktop. There is no local instance of OCDB on my desktop. Only Jdev and the OCDB development kit. The Actual instance of the content DB is elsewhere. The code reads a property file to get the URL and S2S logon information from a property file (local on my desktop) to connect and do its thing. NOW, AS LONG AS I AM VPN into the network (where several OCDB instances can be accessed), I can go into JDev and open the JSP REGARDLESS of whether I've compiled the code or not.
When I'm running the VPN, I see the in and out byte count moving up and up, then within a few seconds, the JSP pops right up.
    How strange is this?!
Question: When using the OCDB libraries with JDev, is it going out to look for some license? It seems that JDev knows my code is calling some OCDB APIs then goes out and does something before it allows me to continue. Without the VPN connection its looks like its sits there waiting for something. My colleagues don't have this problem. But of course they are inside of the firewall, I'm outside.
I've worked on a lot of JSPs before (without OCDB) and I've never seen anything like this before. Here is a list of the libraries that I'm using.
Using version 10.2 of the CDB Libraries.
Importing these jars to my project in JDev.
    1. cdb-devkit-client.jar
    2. content-ws-client.jar
    3. axis.jar
    4. commons-codec-1.3.jar
    5. commons-discovery-0.2.jar
    6. commons-httpclient-3.1-rc1.jar
    7. commons-logging-1.0.3.jar
    8. jaxrpc.jar
    9. saaj.jar
    10. wsdl4j-1.5.1.jar
Any suggestions would help. Since I've found a work around. I'm up and moving, but I would REALLY like to know what's up with this.
    THANKS
    Winston

    Hi folks,
I have some more news on this issue.
As noted in my first post, I noticed that the VPN monitor was moving very aggressively when the VPN connection was established. Activating JSP in design mode while classes were compiled and my VPN connected always seemed to do the trick.
So, Why does it work when VPN is connected? What’s JDev doing?
To answer these questions I loaded up an IP packet sniffer to find out exactly what JDev. was up to. Here are the results, but first a recap of the steps.
Let’s say you have a model view project (using Content DB) that has already been compiled and you know it works.
You are working remotely and need to connect via VPN.
You have no local instances of the Content DB running.
You VPN in and run the JSP from JDev. to verify that all is in working order.
Ok get out of the app and close down all its windows.
In JDev, close out all files in the developer.
    Disconnect the VPN.
Then in JDev open the JSP. If it comes up in source mode switch it to design mode (Click on the "Design" tab).
    JDEV hangs up.
Ok now Go into Task Manager and kill the process.
Then find the class folder where the compiled code sits and delete them all.
Start up JDev and go into your project and open the JSP file.
If it comes up in source mode, switch to design mode. Either way this will work.
    Now close the JSP file.
    Recompile the code.
NOW START UP the IP Packet Sniffer on your local machine. (VPN IS NOT CONNECTED)
Open the JSP file. If it comes up in source mode, switch to design mode.
Now go back and look at the IP packets.
BEHOLD! IT IS TRYING TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER USING THE CORRECT URL FOR MY INSTANCE OF THE OCDB.
Note: There are no URLs encoded in the code. It gets the URL by reading it from a properties file.
The URL to the server is only specified in the property file.
By the way, JDev is now hung up because you’re not VPN in.
Go into the task manager and kill the process, delete the compiled class files, and restart JDev.
Now go and find the property file on your local drive, and rename it.
Go back to JDev. and recompile the code.
Bring up the JSP in design mode.
Look at the output of the IP packets.
THERE ARE NONE! This also shows that its not some kind of cache problem, else it would try to connect.
JDev is active and the JSP is displayed in design mode.
So, either by deleting the compiled classes or removing the properties file CLEARS the problem.
It appears that I’m hanging up because JDev is partially executing the code when you switch into design mode?!?
If the code is complete it tries to go all the way. Since I'm not VPN in I never get a response from the server, thus it hangs forever.
If the code is incomplete, it never tries to connect.
Now if I try this WITH my VPN connected, I see the packets going to the server, and the JSP is eventually displayed.
Also noted that when the property file was renamed and/or the executable classes were deleted, The JSP always pops up (almost immediately). When VPN is connected and classes are compiled and the property file is accessible, it is a lot slower. More Support that JDev is doing something with the server.
So why is this thing running my code when I switch design modes?
I’ve also found this thread on the JDev Fourm.
JSP Design not working when ICEFaces extension is integrated JSP Design not working when ICEFaces extension is integrated
A Known problem with JSP when third party libraries are added?!?!
Content DB considered a 3rd party library?
So, I must conclude that this is not an OCDB issue, but a JDev Issue.
Aslo check out JDeveloper "Design" Perspective
Hope this helps some one out. This was a barn burner.
    Thanks

A parent folder must have set workflow configuration to be final - thus preventing any sub-folders from changing the policy.
Work your way through the various parent folders (via Web UI), and ensure "Do not allow subfolders to modify this operation's workflow settings" for the particular workflow/operation combination is not set.

  • The ANT comes with JDev 9.0.4 - is that for development build?

The ANT comes with JDev, is it the latest version? Do I need to download latest and from somewhere and how do I integrate ANT with JDeveloper? Would it be just for the development build? If I integrate ANT with JDev, that wouldn't bge for release or production build - would it? In that case, I need to install ANT externally!

Apache has released several versions of Ant since JDeveloper 9.0.4 was released. I believe the version of Ant that shipped with JDeveloper 9.0.4 was Ant 1.5.1 (you can always verify the Ant version by using the echo task to print out the "${ant.version}" property).
If you want to upgrade to the lastest version (currently, Ant 1.6.1), see the thread "New ant version" in this forum. We will also be shipping the latest release of Ant with future releases of JDeveloper.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean about the Ant integration being for the development build versus release build. You can choose to configure Ant to be the default build mechanism for your JDeveloper project, in which case it will be used for all builds. Or you can simply open your buildfile in the project, and right click on it to run specific targets. In the latter case, the Ant integration would only be for specific builds.
    Hope that answers your questions.

  • Java CLDC Emulation (Java ME Dev Kit 3.0) installation problem

    Hi,
I tried installing Java CLDC Emulation from Java ME Dev Kit 3.0 to two different devices and Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator with mixed results:
    - Installation on Sprint phone went fine and I can open 'Sun Java CLDC Emu' from Start->Programs
    - Installation on IPAQ110 & Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator went fine, however when I try to run it I get the following message:
"The file 'sun_jwc' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I guess it has something to do with version of Windows since phone has Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and IPAQ&Emulator Windows Mobile 6 Classic.
Can I just install some certificate into trusted store to make this work or Java CLDC Emulation from Java ME Dev Kit 3.0 works only with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Try this instructions:
    1. Download and install Microsoft Device Emulator with device images for Windows Mobile 6 in "Network" emulator properties tab.
    2. Download and install Microsoft Virtual PC.
Note: Installs virtual switch driver required for emulated network adapters.
    3. Run Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator and bind its emulated NE2000 Network Adapter to a desktop network card.
Note 1: Consult the Microsoft device emulator documentation for instructions.
Note 2: Don't use ActiveSync for networking (cradling the emulator).
    4. Write down the IP address of the emulator and the IP address of the host computer.
4.1. Open the Start menu on the emulator, click Settings, click Connections, click Network Cards, Click NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver.
4.2. Open Network Connections on the desktop, and display the status of the connection corresponding to the network card to which the NE2000 Network Adapter has been bound (step 3). Click the Support tab.
    5. Open Emulator Properties.
    5.1. Open the File menu.
    5.2. Click Configure.
    6. Set JavaMESdkHome\on-device\winmobile-arm as a shared folder in "General" emulator properties tab.
    6.1. Browse to JavaMESdkHome\on-device\winmobile-arm.
    6.2. Click OK.
    7. Run File Explorer on the emulator.
    7.1. Open Start menu.
    7.2. Click Programs.
    7.3. Click File Explorer.
    8. Start the Sun Java CLDC Emulation CAB file installation.
    8.1. Open Show menu.
    8.2. Select Storage Card.
8.3. Click on the sun-java-cldc-emu.cab file.
    9. Finish the installation and run the Sun Java CLDC Emulation.
Note: See the device installation for reference.
    10. Register the Windows Mobile emulator in the Java ME SDK.
    10.1. Open JavaMESdkHome\toolkit-lib\process\device-manager\conf\static-registrations.cfg.
10.2. Add the <device name>, <device ip>, <host ip> line into the file and save the changes (use the IP addresses from step 4).
    As instance: MS_Emulator, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.1
    11. Restart the Java ME SDK Device Manager.

  • Java Newbie Dev Kit

I'm looking for a recommendation on a Java SDK kit that isn't an 80 meg download like Sun's, nor obsolete like VJ++ (which I have). I just want to learn to do Java programming for the web, as an alternative to PHP, which I am currently using.
Can anybody recommend a small, easy to use dev kit that will allow me to do this? I don't want to build stand alone, cross-platform enterprise solutions that will help predict the next earthquake in San Francisco, nor make North Korea disarm :) I just want to get started with applets and such and run things from my web browser (just like PHP works).
    Thanks in advance.
    Simple is best (for me).

I disagree with the previous poster. A 40MB download for someone who's not blessed with broadband is not trivial. Doing that with a 28.8kbps connection is almost impossible.
How 'bout downloading it from work and putting it on a Zip disk? That would get it to your home desktop.
I agree with the poster who suggested that a text editor and a command shell were sufficient. IDEs aren't necessary, even for creating Swing GUIs. Better to really understand what's going on. I've done production work that way. There's nothing wrong with it, and it removes difficulties with the IDE from your list of headaches. - MOD

Thanks dude, you saved my ***!
This is my platformOptions.xml file now:

            <packagedDependency>libFlurryAnalytics.a</packagedDependency>
        </packagedDependencies>
I put the 2 files into my ane build folder and into my adt command line, but when I try to build the app I get an duplicate symbol error... so i took them out.

  • Dev Kit for RAZR V3?

Hello - Just bought a Motorola RAZR V3. What a great phone. I am an amateur programmer, good with scripting but my only OOP exerience is with C# and have also played with Net Beans a little. I am looking for the best JAVA dev kit for writing apps for my RAZR but when I visit the Sun site I find there are a few options when picking a the JAVA ME software. I also found motorola had a kit as well.
The RAZR V3x runs a JavaME environment with a MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1 kVM.
Which would be the best kit for my RAZR and a semi-noob programmer?

  • Un-installing "perl devi kit 7" from Active State

I would like to know if anyone has experience with manual uninstalling the program. I could not find the file in the folder i was pointed to by the email bellow and a i could not find the guide mentioned either.
If anyone knows of a program that searches by time stamp this could make the job easier.
Thanks for the time taken to answer the this question.
This was an email sent to me.
-Thanks for your email. There is a small section at the bottom of the
    -installation guide for uninstallation instructions:
    -Mac OS X
    -Run the following command:
    - sudo "/Library/Receipts/Perl Dev Kit.pkg/Contents/Resources/uninstall"

Why not just drag the program to the Trash?
