Integration Process and Action

Hi everyone,
Can some one explain about why do we need to create Action and Integration Process in ESR and use this Integration Process in Configuration Scenario.what's the use of creating this?

Hi ,
Sorry I misunderstood your query.
Go through below link for apt answer.
Action objects in ESR | SCN
Are the action objects are really required to be created
No
Are there specific advantages of using action objects and Process integration scenario objects
This approach is more model based approach wherein you model the process flow and then go for implementing the actual scenario. Technically you won't find any difference in scenario execution.

    fault message type

    Hi Spring,
If u give an exception step along with your Transformation Step, whenever some error occurs in your message mapping, this exception block wil be triggered.
You can configure your exception block to do all exception processing that you want. This exception handling is like any other java Exceptio n Handler. You can do anything that you want in your exception handler block on the basis of your requirements.
<i>If an exception is triggered at runtime, the system first searches for the relevant exception handler in surrounding blocks. If it does not find the correct exception handler, it continues the search in the next block in the block hierarchy.
When the system finds the correct system handler, it stops all active steps in the block in which the exception handler is defined and then continues processing in the exception handler branch. Once the exception handler has finished processing, the process is continued after the block.
If the system fails to find an exception handler, it terminates the integration process with an error.</i>

  • Difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process available in PI7.1?
SAP says that Monitoring process is a special kind of integration process that receives the event messages.
My doubt is even integration process can receive the event messages.
Why these two different type of entities are created for the same purpose?
And what is the technical difference between the two in terms of PI perspective?
    Regards,
    Sami.

    My question is now answered.
On page 17 of this pdf following sentence is mentioned :-
From technical perspective, there is no difference between monitoring process and integration process.
Though logically those are two deifferent things.
Monitoring porcesses are used to receive only event messages that is comprises of event data only.
Like Purchase order creation is a event and its event message will have the event data like Order Id, Created on, Created by, Quantity etc., instead of whole purchase order.
Where as Integration Process is a way to provide solution in some specific circummtances like where we have to automate our process or where we need something in between for the course of communication.
Guys thanks for your precious time.
    Regards,
    Sami.

  • What is integration processes and integration scenario?

    hi experts,
    1.What is data type enhancements?
    2. What is context objects?
    3. what is External definitions?
    4. What is mapping templates?
Please reply me as soon as possible.
    thanx,
    murali.

    Hi,
A message defines how the message that the user receives is structured. The message template contains a URL to a BSP application (Business Server Page). This creates the messages. You can define separate BSP applications and specify them in the message template (see also: Changing the Message Layout).
When you assign a message template to a category, you can define your own message template for each level of granularity and delivery type (see also: Granularity of Messages). You can also use the same message template for different levels of granularity and delivery types.
    Activities
    1. To define your own message template, navigate to the Message Template screen:
    a. In the toolbar, choose New Entries.
    b. Enter the name of a message template.
    c. Specify the relative URL for the required BSP application and the handler class.
    2. On the Assigned Message Template screen, assign the message template to the required category.
You can assign your own message template for each delivery type and level of granularity.
    a. In the Customer Namespace column, enter either Z or Y.
    b. Select your message template.
The specified message template overrides the standard message template shipped by SAP.
    2.Context object
Context objects are a simple alternative to XPath expressions for accessing the contents of a message.
    Creating context object : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3f/9ddca372cbf146bdcdf54db7737623/content.htm
    Activities
    1. Create a context object on the design maintenance screen of the Integration Builder 2. Select a built-in XSD data type for your context object by using the Reference Type list box and save it.
    3. Open the interface that you want to assign a context object to in the Integration Repository. You can only assign context objects to the request message of interfaces in the same or in a superordinate software component version.
    4. To assign the context object to a request message field, enter it in the Context Object column by using the input help. For message interfaces, the structure of the request message is displayed on the Context Object tab page.
    5. If you want to undo the assignment of a context object, select the name of the context object and choose Delete Context Object Assignment ( ).
    6. Activate your changes.
    3. External Definitions :
An external definition enables you to import a local WSDL, XSD, or DTD file to the Integration Repository and specify which parts of the schema to extract as the description for a message. You can use these extracted message schema as:
&#9679;     Output or input messages in message interfaces
&#9679;     Source or target structures for message mappings

  • A simple question about the Integration process and the PI system

    Hi all
Out PI system gets more and more slowly .
in the Monitor I can se that there are many ufinished IP about 100.
in the Outbound colon there is a Watch icon with the message
    QMessage being sent
and in the graphic of the IP thers is a Send Message Asynchronously  with text in process.
my question is can those unfineshed IP be guilty in slowing down the system by taking resources, they have been there for quit a long time .
    Thanks

    Hi again
    I have checked sm12 , no locks
theres is no mapping involved in this step , the IP is trying to send a file to  server.
I just want to know if  100 unfinished IP slow down the system .
It does not matter if the file has been sent or not
is there any way to check those IP if they are taking resources.
    Thanks.

  • Could not invoke a web service in an integration process from a portal

    Hello,
I am a WebLogic user. I am using WebLogic 8.1. I created a process project which integration a few web services. The last service in the process is named "Alert Service". I also create a WebLogic portal to invoke the the Alert service in the process. After I run the process in WebLogic workshop, I run the portal. I met the issue like:
    <i><b>An error has occurred:
An exception occurred in the action showAlert
EJB Exception: ; nested exception is:
    com.bea.control.ServiceControlException: SERVICE FAULT:
    Code:java.io.FileNotFoundException
    String:Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://dbaldridge3000:7001/JC2Collab/JC2/collab/alert/Alert.jws'
    Detail:
    END SERVICE FAULT
caused by: : com.bea.control.ServiceControlException: SERVICE FAULT:
    Code:java.io.FileNotFoundException
    String:Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://dbaldridge3000:7001/JC2Collab/JC2/collab/alert/Alert.jws'
    Detail:
    END SERVICE FAULT</b></i>
I created a portal domain and extended the workshop and integration domain to the portal domain server. both the process and the portal are running on this server. If I don't run the workflow process, but run the Alert service only and then run the portal, there is no exception.
The portal was created using the Alert service's control.
Why did the integration process hide its service so that the portal could not find it ? Should I run the integration process and the portal in separate domains (servers) ? Should I start two WebLogic platforms ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Di

I reproduced this error in another way by using portal only. I created a portal with a portlet which can invoke a meeting service. I posted two methods in the meeting service to the portlet - listMeetings and getMeeting. The portlet was generated automically from the meeting web service control. I invoked the listMeeting from the portal at first. The meeting info was displayed on the portal page. Then I invoked the getMeeting by entering a meeting key got from the first step. For the second call, the same exception was thrown.

  • BPM x Integration Process

    Heya guys,
    longe time no see.
I'd like to start a conversation on the following subject: how do you understand the difference between business processes and XI's integration processes. This idea was inspired by the recurrent confusion that some clients and some managers make about those (or maybe I'm the confused one).
In my view, integration processes are such that they shouldn't require any human intervention, and are designed with respect to systems (systems which XI access or systems that access XI). They are important mostly for the IT techs responsible for the systems integration.
On the other hand, business processes may have human intervention (aprovals, data filling etc) and are designed with respect to the key user whose action will be required in that specific step of the process. They are important for the end users which use the process in a daily basis and also for the managers and directors for analyzing purposes.
The problems begin when the users want to understand the integration process as if it was a business process. Want to check in which specific step it is at this moment (as if in Guided Procedures or Solution Manager). In my opinion integration processes shouldn't be trackable like business processes simply because it is not what they are intended for. They are similar tools for completely different applications.
I think SAP has kinda understood that since they are changing XI process naming to integration process instead of BPM. IP is not a BPM, and it shouldn't be.
    Any comments?
    Regards,
    Henrique.

I completely agree with you Henrique. BPM deals with the integrating people also where as the integration processes doesn't. But in XI, the integration process concept is linked with BPM which is very much confusing.
Actually most of the things we do in the integration process in XI like, fork, loop, switch etc can be done without using any BPM in webMethods, TIBCO.
May be in future SAP will come up with more appropriate conventions so that people will not be get confused what exactly is integration process and BPM.

  • What is integration scenario & integration process in IR?

    hi friends
1).  can any one explain me about Integration scenario and Integration processes in "INTEGRATION REPOSITORY"?
2).  why we need to use this IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
3).  what is advantage of using IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
if you have any related links and documents please refer to me..................
    Thanks in Advance
    chinthapatla.bharat

    Hi Bharat,
    Integration Scenario
An integration scenario completely models the exchange of
messages for a collaborative process and provides an overview of the process flow.
It is overview of your whole integration scenario. In Integration Scenario each Swimlane represents a different business system. Mean you will have number of swimlanes as number of business system involved in your integration. Swimlane contains action. Actions are used for mentioning Inbound and outbound interfaces for the corresponding swimlane(business system).
Why we are using Integration Scenario?
We use integration scenario to genearate Integration Directory objects like Receiver Determination, Interface determination, Sender agreeement etc.
All XI content objects must be assigned to one or more integration scenarios (IS). Delivering XI-Content in the framework of an IS has the following advantages:
    1. The IS provides you with a central point of access for all integration objects. This is necessary for semantic and technical integration and facilitates business-driven development.
    2. The IS helps customers to understand the underlying business scenario of XI content objects.
    3. The IS serves as a kick-start for the configuration of the content at the customer site. The aim is to minimize the configuration effort for the customer.

    Integration Processes
An integration process is an executable, cross-system process for processing messages. In an integration process you define all the process steps that are to be executed and the parameters relevant for controlling the process.
You implement integration processes when you want to define, control, and monitor complex integration processes that extend across enterprise and application boundaries. The design and processing of integration processes is also known as cross-component Business Process Management (cross-component BPM, ccBPM).
the following case,u should consider to use integration process.
    1.Control/Monitor the messages in XI
    2. Collect/Merge the messages in XI
    3. Split the messages in XI
    4. To Multicast an Message
    5. Send an Alert based on the very complex business logic
    6. To integrate with cross component business process

  • XML file, with multiple customer records - post DEBMAS over Integr.Process

    Hi all,
is it possible to map a single XML file message that contains multiple records for customer master to multiple messages ?
I know that it is possible to do a "multi IDOC " mapping but then the splitting of the messages is done by the IDOC adapter, not earlier.
I have to process every single customer master record by an integration process to check if its creation or change (and get the customer number).
When I try in the interface mapping to set the receiver to "0 to unbound" then also the message format of the sender requires two additional hierarchie levels "...message, message1" . My orginal file does not contain these tags.
Is XI not able to handle this easy requirement without making a university study out of it?
Thank you very much for your help
    best regards
    Hans

You need not worry about those tags to be in your file. Those are added while mapping is being executed. All that you need to do is use file content conversion in sender adapter and put your lookup logic in Integration Process and mapping..!!
You do not need a university degree, if you understadn the concepts..!!

  • Idoc to flat file using Integration process does not show up at all

    Hello All,
I created a scenario IDOC to Flat File using Integration Process and one without IntegrationProcess. I am able to execute the one without Integration Process easily.
However when I send the IDOC from SAP then the Integration Process scenario just does not work.
I Checked SXMB_MONI  There is no entry for the Integration Process.I can see entry for other without Integration Process.
SXI_CACHE : I can see my Integration Process active
SWEQADM :  I have activated the Event Queue and Background job
SWF_XI_ADM_BPE :  ALL BPE is showing green status.
All syntax check on IP are fine.
There is no Basis Help for me so  there could be some additional basis steps which need to be configured.  Has anyone faced such an issue with Integration Process?
    Regards
    Prashanta

Hope this might help you. when u configure an IDoc as Sender with BPM this is how you proceed.
<b>1<b>. let us split the scenario into two</b>.</b>
    a. <b>Sender to BPM</b> ( Integration Process).
    b. <b>BPM to Receiver</b>.
<b>2. First let us configure the first Sender to BPM.</b>
    a. Sender Agreement( <b>Not required</b> ).
    b. Receiver Agreement( <b>NOT Required</b>).
    c. Receiver Determination( Sender Service, Outbound Interface, Receiver Service(<b>Integration Process</b>).
    d. Interface Determination( Inbound Interface(Sender Abstract Interface), Message Mapping(NOT Required if your using transformation stepin Integration Process)).
<b>3. Now let us configure the Second BPM to Receiver.</b>
    a. Sender Agreement( <b>NOT Required</b>)
    b. Receiver Agreement( Sender Service(<b>Integration process</b>), Receiver Abstarct Interface,Receiver service, Inbound Interface).
    c. Receiver Determination( Sender Service(Integration Process), Receiver Abstarct Interface,Receiver Service).
    d. Interface Determination( Inbound Interface, Message Mapping(<b>NOT Required</b>)).
    So Finally we have <b>One Receiver Agreement</b>, <b>Two Receiver Determinations</b>, <b>Two Interface Determinations</b>.
Please let me know if you have any more queries.

  • Integration Process never starts

    Hi everybody,
in my scenario, I'm getting an IDOC an I'm sending it to two Services (two receiving services in receiver determination): a) a BS with a mail communication channel b) to an integration process.
In first case a), the file is sent via mail correctly. In second case, it seems as if the integration process is never executed, but I don't get any error messages.
    - I checked receiving interface of integration process and of receiver determination: both are the same
    - in SXMB Moni, there are two entries for the split in the receiver determination; both show the final flag for correct execution
    - but in SXMB Moni, there is no entry shown that I can see, that execution of the process at least started
    - in SXMB MONI BPE, there is no entry for the IP
    - the tRFC-queues show no failures.
    Has anybody an idea?
    Best regards
    Torsten

Is your event queue switched on and background job active? ( tcode: SWEQADM )?

  • Integration Process does not start

    Hi guru's
My scenario is this. From ECC we send Idocs to PI. We have an integration process to receive the idocs because only max 9999 are passed in the port.
We run just around 11000 CREMAS idocs now.
The problem is that the integration process does not start on our QA environment while it does start on DEV environment.
I've run many checks on both environments and they all look the same.
    To name a few:
    * Cache are all green and up-to-date.
    * I checked the WF models which are behind the Integration Process and they are the same.
    * Event correlation is correct in both environments
    * When i test the idocs are correctly sent from ECC to PI.
However on DEV I see in transaction SXMB_MONI_BPE i see that the integration process is triggered and started. It waits 10 minutes and collects any messages that come in, and then bundles these and sends them on to the receiver.
On QA i do not see the Integration Process being started. Only records i see in SXMB_MONI_BPE are three work items, 2 completed, 1 ready, all 3 are called waiting for event.
I'm probably missing some configuration somewhere but what could it be?
    Regards
    Robert

    Hi Eng Swee,
Thx. I checked it already and it works fine.
Meanwhile i did do some changes and some retests and now i saw somewhere that all my tests were creating more steps in an already started integration process, that was still waiting.
I now cleared some old workitems and started afresh.
    What i see now is:
    1)  the BPM process start correctly
    2)  it receives 1 or 2 or 3 or n messages
    3)  it then waits for the deadline to finish, i.e. it should run for 10 minutes and then proceed to the next step which is sending the collected idocs to receiver.
On DEV the deadline works fine. On QA it doesn't.
IN SWU3 i have done the customizing and it shows green, so that part is OK.
Still the deadline is passed and it doesn't have the desired effect on mu BPM process (workflow).
Are there any other checks i can do to see if the deadline mechanism is properly working?
Is there a maybe a manual step i can do to trigger the deadline? Then at least i get some information on where the real problem is.
(Sorry for earlier confusion but i hadnt realized that there was still a process running)
    Regards
    Robert

  • Integration Process does not appear in ID or Runtime Cache

I created an Integration process and it has not appeared as an available service in the Integration Directory when createing a receiver determination. It also does not appear in the runtime cache.
Last week I created a different IP and that exists in both places. Between that time and now we migrated the SLD from one machine to another; I don't know if this will have an affect, but all messages interfaces created today appear in the Integration Directory, so there is a communication path at least.
Can anybody advise how to proceed?

    Hi
You should import the IP from IR to ID.
In ID Goto Objects tab, here expand Service without party, you got the IP, from here you right click mouse>new>give some name and import your created IP in the IR.
Then you get the IP in the ID.

  • Correlate MDN to AS2 message using an integration process

    Hello,
I had a similar question in a previous thread but closed it as the problem might have not been to clear.
Problem is that we have to use BPM for an AS2 scenario and correlate the MDN back to the process as we need BPM functionalities such as error handling and time-outs as well as some data enrichment.
Problem is even when I request the MDN synchronously on Adapter Level it is delivered as asynchronous message back. So I need to figure out how to correlate it.
MDN contains the messageID so I tried to use the messageID of the original message as correlation. However problem is that a new message ID is assigned when the message is sent by the integration process and the second on is used then as ID in the MDN.
It seems to me that it is therefore not possible at alle to correlate the MDN? However this is a definitive requirement so I am really stuck at the moment.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thank you very much!

    Hello,
well, actually the correlation itself would work as I extract the messageID in a transformation step and then activate the correlation in a send step.
If I check the flag "Refer MDN to XI" in AS2 receiver channel the MDN is delivered back to the integration server and the original messageID is then part of the MDN message payload.
However, and that is the big problem, the MDN uses the second messageID that is created when sending the message from the integration process (and not the first one when the message is sent from sender and process by the integration process).

  • Updating an Integration Process in Builder after making a change in Design

    Hi,
I have a BPM defined as an Integration Process in Designer. I transferred the Integration Process from Repository to the Builder.
Now I have updated my BPM Process in Designer/Repository but the "new" outbound and inbound interfaces do not seem to show up in the Builder.
If I create a new integration process and point it to the BPM process then it shows the new changes but how do I update the existing Integration Process in the Builder to show the "new" outbound and inbound interfaces?
    Thanks
    Ashish

I am on SP11 and this functionality of Updating Changes to BPM in ID is not there.
Deleting the whole process and then adding it all over again is a potential risk as I might lost my config. I guess that is my only choice at this time.
    Thanks all for your help
