Intercompany scenario in manufacturing

We're in the manufacturing business with several companies in US and Mexico. As we roll out SAP at a Mexico location, we need to prorotype an intercompany scenario. Manufacturing of some of our products is started in the US and is completed in Mexico. We were hoping to use Intercompany functionality, but it seems that it is working only with finished goods. I.e. if we sell one product from US and one product from Mexico then it would work. But we sell one product, it's just manufactured in two locations.
We explored an option to enter 2 materials instead of one (IS and Mexico pieces separately), but this would mess up the reporting,  require customer service re-training, etc.
In another company on a different SAP box we use the following process:
- sales order and production order are created in the US company
- subcontracting purchase order is created for Mexico company
- Mexico company creates their own sales order/delivery/invoice and completes their piece
- US company completes their delivery and invoice.
Since in this case US and Mexico companies will be in the same box, we were hoping to avoid implementing the same scenario because it involves many additional documents (POs, SOs, etc.).
Is there any way to utilize Intercompany functionality in our scenario? If not, is there any way to simplify the process described above?
We've done a lot of research and are at the end of our wits right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi
This is just a wild thought about the process to be mapped...
I am thinking about using both Intercompany and Third Party sales processes to map the requirement.
Scenario 1: If the Mexican plant has to make the delivery to customer...the Mexican plant will be selected as the delivering plant in the sales order and the availability check happens as per the lead time required to receive the partially processed material (raw material for Mexican plant) from US and other lead times and the finished goods should be delivered to the customer directly.
Scenario: If the US plant has to make the delivery to customer...the US plant will be selected as the delivering plant in the sales order...a different item category should be determined (like TAS) and a PR should be generated automatically like third party process and the non SD people should take care of getting the finished good from Mexican plant to US plant (sending the semi finished product and getting the finished good).
This can just be an input for your thoughts.
Thanks,
Ravi

  • Shipment cost in Intercompany scenario

    Dear all.... here's my scenario:
    a) We have 2 company codes (001 and 002)
    b) 002 has no stocks, all the stocks are in 001
    c) All the sales of 002 generates a weekly invoice from 001 to 002 (the intercompany scenario works fine).
    d) We need to post the shipment cost in the sales office's cost center, but the cost center the system takes is from 001 (from the plant).
We make configuration in OKB9 (Cost Element = 611001 "Sales freight", with mandatory field profit center (a cost center for each benefit center)
In normal scenario in company code 001 the shipment cost assignation works ok.
    Any advice?

Finally, i get the data in tables and makes corrections manually.

  • Multiple Intercompany scenario

Hi experts,  i have a question.
Im trying to create an intercompany process.
I have seven company codes (A, B, C, D, E, F,G) and each company code has its own Plant (P1, P2, etc) and one sales organization per company code (SO1, SO2, etc)
Co. code-->  Sales org. -->   Plant
    A   -->               SO1       -->        P1
    B   -->               SO2       -->       P2
    C   -->               SO3       -->        P3
    D   -->               SO4       -->        P4
    E   -->               SO5       -->        P5
    F   -->               SO6       -->        P6
    G   -->              SO7       -->        P7
My process require that I can make intercompany sales in all ways, that means that the Company code A can ship from all the plants (P1, P2, P3,P4, P5, P6, P7); The company code B can ship from all the plants too... and so on.
i have make my configuration but when I arrive to the menu path  IMG>Sales and distribution>billing>intercompany billing>assingn organizational units by plant-->assing organizational units to the plant
I only can see here the seven plants and the possibility to assing only one sales area (sales organization + distribution channel + division) to only one plant. I can only make seven combinations instead of being able to make 42 combinations for all my intercompany scenarios.(all the plants will all the sales areas)  Could you please tell me what is missing or why i cant configure intercompany scenarios for all my sales area? what is the problem?
PS, I have already assigned all the plants to all the sales organizations in the menu path IMG-->enterprise structure > assignment>sales and distribution--> assign sales organization-distribution channel-plant
thanks in advance and i hope you can help me.

    Hi Alberto,
I think this should be possible. If I have understood correctly, when the SO1 (creates a sales order in SO1DC1) delivers some goods from P3 then the interco billing should happen from Company Code C to A and then the customer invoice from A to the end customer (in case of intercompany sales) Similarly, if SO4 delivers goods from P7, then the interco billing will happen from company code G to D and then the customer invoice follows. For doing this, you need 49 (not just 42 as you have mentioned) combinations. Assign SO1DC1 --->P1 first and then assign all other 6 plants to SO1+DC1. So, toatlly 7 combinations foe each Sales Org.
If the above way doesn't work, then I have a work around which involves some enhancements if your client allows extra budget for this :-). Let me know, I can give you that in detail.

at present I have assigned delivering plant to selling org, is this correct?
    Regards,

Check your config for sales doc at
    Use Tcode SPRO
    >IMG - SD - Sales - Sales Doc - Sales Doc Header - Assign Sales Area to Sales Doc Type
Info - Assign Sales Area To Sales Document Types
In this menu option, you allocate the allowed order types to each sales area group.
You do not need to make any entries at all if all the sales order types are allowed for each of your sales areas.
If you wish to check allowed sales document types, you must set up common sales areas. This means you must define common sales organizations, common distribution channels and common divisions. If, for example, you have define common divisions, then you must also define common distribution channels and sales organizations.
    Example 1 (simplest case):
Only the sales document type "standard order" (OR) should be allowed for a specific sales area <0001/01/01> (that means: sales organization 0001, distribution channel 01, division 01). The following activities are required for this:
1.1) Activity "group together sales organizations":
         Sales org.  Ref.sales org.
         0001        0001
1.2) Activity "group together distribution channel":
         Sales org.  Distr.ch.  Distr.ch.  Doc.type
         0001        01         01
    1.3) Activity "group together divisions":
         Sales org.  Division  Division Doc.type
         0001        01        01
1.4) Activity "assign allowed order types to sales areas":
         Ref.sales  Distr.ch.  Division Sales doc.type
         0001       01         01       OR
    Example 2:
The above settings should also be used for the sales area <0002/01/01>. In addition, the following activities required:
2.1) Activity "group together sales organizations":
         Sales org.  Ref.sales org.
         0002        0001
2.2) Activity "group together distribution channels":
         Sales org. Distr.ch.  Distr.ch. Doc.type
         0002       01         01
    2.3) Activity "group together divisions":
         Sales org. Division  Division  Doc.type
         0002       01        01
In the activity "assign allowed order types to sales areas", there is nothing else to do.
    Example 3:
The above settings should also be used for the sales area <0002/01/02>. In addition, the following setting is also required:
    3.1) Activity "group together divisions":
         Sales org. Division  Division Doc.type
         0002       02        01
    Further activities are not necessary.
Requirement - The sales organizations, distribution channels and divisions which you wish to use for grouping must be defined.
    Activities -
    1. Enter your group sales organization in the sales organization field.
    2. Set the respective group distribution channel in the distribution channel field.
    3. Enter your group division in the division field.
    4. Set the sales document type permitted for this group sales area during the order entry in the sales document type field.

  • Intercompany Scenario for Export and without Plant

    Hi
Our client creates Big Projects; with two company Codes, One in India and another in Germany. They are working on PS. In most of the cases they get an order and they send the required material through Vendor, Vendor uses his Excise Invoice for sending the material and submit his Invoice to our Client for Payment. In turn our Client Bill to Customer and collect the payment; so use Third Party Sales Process. There is no Delivery from our Client Plant.
Besides the material our Client also provide Services.
Now the requirement is to Map the Intercompany Sale. It is not mapped at present, and so doing outside SAP. This need to be mapped. Scenario is like Sales Organisation of Germany gets the Order (for Material and Services both) they pass this order to Sales Organisation which belongs to Co. Code of India. Now material is sent from Vendor and India will bill to Germany and Germany will do the final billing to Customer. Here the customer is outside of India so India will have to Export, and Plant of our Client is not involved, as Material is sent from Vendor.
Also the same scenario happens for providing the manpower.
Guide me how can I map this scenario in SAP.
    Thanks and Regrds

    Hi,
Intercompany sales- create seperate sales order type,
    create 2 non stock material-
1-for to collect positive amount - assign this to WBS element-Billing element- YINT
    2- for collect negative values-assign this to WBS element-Billing element& account assignment-YIND
Maintain Same milestones in both items.
for maintain seperate WBS level for these items
Maintain same billing type- and do collective billing- to capture both positive and negative value-
pass the amounts-first item - Sales account-credit-50(PK), second item 40(PK)-debit

  • Intercompany scenario

    Hi,
There are couple scenarios in Intercompany, for which i would like to have your suggestions,
    1) A and B are two different companies.
A creates Purchase Order to B. How is the PO automatically receive by B ? Is there any interco PO process?
    2) PO received at B (from A) is automatically converted to SO which automatically convert to a PO to SUPPLIER.
At the same time the A part number is converted into B part number when the SO is generated.
    3) When Goods are ship to A from supplier, GR is performed at A. This will close the PO at A.
But how does B get the acknowledgement that goods received by A, so that they can inturn close their PO that is to their supplier?
    4) When supplier invoiced B, it will automatically trigger invoice to A, if PO is closed?
All these three (A,B and supplier)are in the same landscape
    pls suggest.
    SR

    Hi syed,
    1) A and B are two different companies.
A creates Purchase Order to B. How is the PO automatically receive by B ? Is there any interco PO process?
    <b>Can happen like :
    by manual process
    by email order
    EDI</b>
    2) PO received at B (from A) is automatically converted to SO which automatically convert to a PO to SUPPLIER.
At the same time the A part number is converted into B part number when the SO is generated.
<b>The material which is being order by plant B if it is being supplied by A, then that material nees to be mainted even in A.</b>
    3) When Goods are ship to A from supplier, GR is performed at A. This will close the PO at A.
But how does B get the acknowledgement that goods received by A, so that they can inturn close their PO that is to their supplier?
<b>If A has placed order to B, then thats one part of it. Now B getting it from his supplier does not disturb this flow. We can with B as point of reference.</b>
    4) When supplier invoiced B, it will automatically trigger invoice to A, if PO is closed?
<b>when supplier invoices B, it will not trigger an automatic invoice to A but we need to do it based on our pricing procedure and credit and other factors involved if any like say billing dates.</b>
All these three (A,B and supplier)are in the same landscape
<b>They are not in the same landscape generally. Just because supplier ( vendor ) is a different party altogether</b>.
Hope it helps. Pl reward if useful.

  • Intercompany scenarios in FICA

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone tell me how to handle inter-company scenarios in FI-CA. Client has 2 business entities which manage business between them for goods and services. One company code will pay for the services and goods rendered by other company code. Is it possible to maintain a single contract account so that we can look at both receivables and payables for that contract account. Please tell me the possible postings with an example.
Please let me know the solution asap.
    Thanks
    Santosh

Yes, you can maintain the following data model:
One BP--> One contract account --> diffrent contracts ( can be diffrent company codes)
at contract account level you need to maintain Group company code and standard company code (as a Paying company code)
inter company transaction will be generate like FI/CO.

  • Total replenishment leadtime for intercompany scenario

    Folks,
    I have the following scenario:
Plant A -> produces material A inhouse. It takes 10 days to produce the material in case all raw materials are in stock.
Plant B -> procures material A from plant B. It takes 5 days to bring the product from plant A to plant B.
GR processing time is 1 day.
Now, when I enter a PO for ordering material from plant A to plant it will propose a delivery date of today +6 days. However, the material is not in stock in plant A. Is there any way to have the system take the producing time of 10 days into account as well?
    MdZ

    Hi,
Normally in material master you have to enter the total lead time.
i.e., Lead time for producing the material 10 Days + 5 Days as transportation = 15 Days.
So, This 15 Days you have to enter in MRP2 Planned Delivery Time.
GR Processing Time 1 day you have to enter in Purchasing View.
I hope you are clear on this.
    Regards,
    Mohd Ali.

  • Help with SD scenario

    Hello,
I have configured a SD intercompany scenario  (process flow OR>LF > F2 > IV) where the goods are supplied from the manufacturing plant to the customer.
However, the user wants to be able to run the scenario where the goods are delivered from the manufacturing plant to the  receiving plant and then from this to the customer.
    Ex:
    1. Sales organization 0001 receives a sales order X from customer XYZ.
    2. Item 10 should be manufactured in a plant 0002 of different company (make-to-order production).
    3. The manufacturing plant 0002 delivers the item to sales organization 0001 (plant 0001).
    4. The item of sales order X is delivered to customer XYZ from plant 0001.
In normal intercompany, the item is delivered from plant 0002 directly to the customer.
Please, any idea how to implement this scenario in SAP?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Mr.Nieves,
It can be set up but there are many ways. Can you please tell me the following:
    1. What kind of postings and blocks are required at plant 0001?
    2. Should the process be automated?
    3. What is the purpose behind all this? is it relevant for recording alone?
    4. Plant 0002 is with the same sales organization and company code?
All these questions are relevant to me only if you want to consider options other than STO that Senoir Barco mentioned.
    Thanks and regards

  • Delivery schedule update from PO to SO in intercompany

    Hello All,
We are planning to have a Purchasing Agreement to automatically create Sales Scheduling agreement by idoc ORDERS in a Intercompany scenario.
The subsequent delivery schedules are to be updated from the Purchasing agreement in the Sales agreement with DELINS.
We are in ECC Eph4 and IS Auto is not available. Is it possible to have this automatic Delivery schedule update(DELINS) without IS Auto.

  • Intercompany Invoice Based on Goods Receipt

    Hello,
I am running the following intercompany scenario : Purchase order - replenishment delivery - internal billing document.
    - Ordering organization : Cpy A / Sales org A / Plant A
    - Supplying organization : Cpy B / Sales org B / Plant B
Standard SAP issues an invoice based on the goods issue, which makes perfect sense.  My client's requirement is to trigger the intercompany invoice from the goods receipt at Plant A.

    Hi
Please check the VTFL Copy control settings. In VTFL check  Data VBRK/VBRP routine feild. For your requirement you may have to change the subroutine
If standard subroutines are not meeting your requirement, you may have to add new logic to the subroutine with the help of your ABAP team.

  • Free of Charge Intercompany Invoice process

    Hello Experts,
I would like to know how the TANN, Free of Charge process works for intercompany Sales?
When I do the F2 billing document, the system behaves as it should but when I process the IV billing document, system is finding a price maintained at the PI02 level and adding that.
Your help will be mucj appreciated.
    Saj

Free of Charge process in Intercompany scenario is not possible with standard configurations.  Nevertheless, refer point no.4 in the following note:-
    Note 33258 - Processing free-of-charge items
Also have a look at the following note:-
Note 33382 - Free-of-charge items in intercompany billing
Carry out the necessary modifications as recommended in the above notes and test.

  • Automatic Intercompany Payment/Collection postings Issue

    Hi All,
We have an intercompany scenario where we need to make actual payments between two company codes: Both the Company Codes are in SAP and in Same Client.
    1) Intercompany receivables in company code A matching payables in company code B.
    2) Payment run in company code B generates a payment from company B to company code A.
    3) This payment run is supposed to create 2 idocs, 1. Out bound Idoc in Company B 2. Inbound Idoc. Which triggers a Posting (Dr. Bank Transitory Cr. Interco. Customer)
I am able to generate the Outbound Idoc through F110 (Payment Run). But inbound Idoc. is not getting generated in Company A. I managed to post an incoming payment advice IDOC using the test tool WE19. I just copied the outbound IDoc changed the sending / receiving ports etc, and changed the direction field in the control record- it posted without problems.
Necessary settings have been maintained in WE20, OBCA and OBDG and also in the Posting Rule.  But I am still not successful in creating an incoming idoc. through F110.
WE20- Message Type REMADV & IDoc Type used is PEXR2002.
    kindly share the details
    Thanks & Regards,

    Dear:
I guess you trying to tell  that your company code deals with a customer A who
is  your vendor B and that you want to set off your receivables
against dues owed by you? If yes then please proceed as under
I assume that your company code is yet to collect 600 $ from customer A
whereas you owe 800 $ to vendor B.
In customer master (control data screen), activate
    a check box called vendor (T Code:FD02 or XD02)
Similarly, activate the check box called customer in the vendor master
    screen(T Code :FK02 or XK02)
By doing so you have let SAP system know that your
customer A is also vendor B. You have done this at client level and this
relationship applies to all company codes dealing with customer A and vendor
B which is your basic requirement.
Now move on to the company code section of your customer master ( T code
FD02 or XD02) and activate a check box called clearing with vendor. Do the same thing with
your vendor master (T Code FK02 or XK02) and activate a check box called clearing
    with customer.
This means that your company code wishes to set off receivables from
customer A against dues payable to your vendor B.
In F110 now you would be paying 200 $ to vendor B.
Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

  • Intercompany Sales triggers STO

    Hello All!
Could some Guru explain me why nobody uses the Item Category in Purchasing Document: Stock Transfer in the shedule line for do and Intercompany scenario?
I mean why is not possible to do:
    Sales Order in company A
    Triggers STOreq in Company B
ME59N converts into PO and STO
    VL10G converts into delivery
Can you please provide me your opnion?
    Thanks

    Here are my 2 cents
If you were to use standard Sales order / Purchase order process instead of STO,  this is  what will happen,
    1.  MRP generated Purchase requisition could be assigned to any vendor (external or internal.)
There is no way to prevent assignment to a external supplier.  With item category U used in STO, Purchase req can be
converted  to a STO only and not to a normal purchase order.
    2.  User will have to create two deliveries. One outbound from supply plant and other inbound at receiving plant.
    3. there will no visibility of stock in transit.
    4. SAP would trigger  inspection type 01  instead of type 08. Usually 01 inspection is more stringent.
    5. I am sure there would be accounting impact also.
