Internet disconnects when trying to connect a vpn on a different user account on the same computer

Im trying to have one user account with my real ip address and another user account on windows 8 with a vpn connection. Everytime i switch (i dont logout i just lock the user) then try to connect a vpn on the other user account the internet disconnects
on the other user account. It's like it wants to change my entire internet connection to use the vpn instead of having a seperate connection on each user account. is there a way around this or am i stuck having to use two laptops? I also unchecked

Firefox has suddenly stopped connecting on one of three user accounts on the same computer. That account still connects with Safari - but not Firefox. A clean-install has not solved the problem. Help?

Three user accounts on the same computer all link to a single copy of Firefox 3.6.8 - but one of them has suddenly lost its ability to use the program. Firefox opens in that account, but it cannot connect to the Internet. 'Done' appears at the lower left of a blank Firefox page [it's set to load a blank page initially], as though a page had finished downloading ... but Firefox does not actually generate any Internet activityx.
Previously, the Firefox connection for this account was smooth and reliable. I haven't added, upgraded or downloaded any new programs, nor made any other computer changes in recent weeks or months.
Puzzlingly - that same account still connects successfully to the Internet via Safari. And the other accounts on the same computer continue to use Firefox with no problem - including a test user-account that I set up today to help troubleshoot the problem. The blockage is restricted solely to Firefox with that one user account.
Following your Support page instructions, I did a clean-install of Firefox 3.6.8, removing both the existing Firefox 3.6.8 and the Library/Application Support/Firefox folder. Going the extra mile, I checked all accounts to be certain that no Firefox folders remained in any of them - then emptied the Trash and restarted before installing a freshly downloaded 3.6.8. But blimey - the blockage still persists for that one user account.
Firefox shows no visible cookies that might influence the connection. [It's set to delete all cookies upon closing anyway.] And I see no obvious instructions in Mac's firewall or any software program to refuse access to Firefox. The computer is stand-alone, not networked. And in any case, Firefox works just fine in the two other user accounts.
Deleting the hobbled user account is not feasible. So what is causing this roadblock? Did I miss a step in the clean-install? How can that account resume using Firefox?

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (stores the update history).

Firefox just started to do this if on one user account someone has firefox running another user account on the same computer can not connect to the internet through firefox while firefox is running in the first user account

2 user accounts on the computer. If each acct is logged into the computer and tries to have firefox running only one can connect to the internet at a time. I am having exactly the same problem. This worked on all versions of Firefox up until mid last week. It started failing on Wednesday, coincident with the installation of Firefox 8.0 (see attached gif showing the automatic update on that date).
To fix the problem, you have to shut down Firefox 8.0 on one account, switch to the other account and then you can run it there.
If Firefox 8.0 is running on on account, the other account will run Firefox, but when you enter an URL it waits for quite a while then reports "The connection was reset. The connection was reset while the page was loading".
We also use Thunderbird 8.0 and it does not exhibit this problem, and works at the same time as Firefox 8.0. I suspect they might share some components.
I'd be happy to supply more details if needed.

Can I connect two iPhones to two different iTunes account on the same iMac?

I have one (1) iMac and two (2) iPhones and two (2) iPads...
I have set up two (2) login accounts on the same iMac... one for myself and another for my wife.
Likewise I have setup iTunes account for myself and for my wife in both the logins... the problem occurs when I try and sync my wife's iPhone to her version of the iTunes...
By the way I have authorised the same iMac with both the iTunes account so that me and my wife can have a individual setups and not mess with each others apps / music.
Any help would be welcome.

Each iTunes account is linked to a different Apple ID. Setup one iPhone with the Apple ID for your wife and the other with the Apple ID for yourself. Then sync the iPhones to their respective login/iTunes accounts on the Mac.

I can't import MXF files shot on a Canon C300 into FCP 10.1.2. I have the Canon plug in for MXF file to FCP import but FCPX still doesn't recognize MXF files when I try to import. Premiere works fine importing MXF on the same computer.

I did uninstall and re-install Canon XF Utility and the Canon FCPX plug in. Still no luck. I checked the CanonXF64.RADPlug folder is on my computer in the Rad Plugins folder in application support This is where it is supposed to be as far as I can figure out.
Another piece of the puzzle is that footage shot on a Canon C300 in 2013 and I reimported today and it DOES import into FCP10.1.3. Footage shot on a different Canon C300 filmed this summer will NOT import into FCPX. The latter will import into Premiere. But I am trying to work in FCPX, but maybe I shouldn’t be??
Any ideas? (screen shots below)

"There is another trick that works sometimes though. Try uninstalling the plugin and XF Utility. Then, install the latest XF Utility, followed by the plugin, in that order."
I did do this but no results. Otherwise they say I need to wait for a new plugin.

HT204053 I created a new user account on the family computer. I tried to sync my purchased music from the cloud but itunes said this computer already had a computer synced to it. Why won't it let me even though its a different user account?

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

I am trying to switch over my work computer from a windows 7 laptop to a new windows 8 laptop so far I have not been able to connect to the VPN on windows 8. The windows 7 connects without an issue and is still connected. The same for my softphone using
the same settings it connects on windows 7 but says account failed to enable on windows 8. I am only using windows defender as I uninstalled the anti virus software that came pre-installed.
Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated!

Error 800: Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be un-reachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection.
Please temporarily disable Windows firewall and Windows defender to check if that helps.

Connecting to a NAS with different user accounts

First, I just want to say that as a recent PC ---> Mac convert, I have been quite pleased with the switch. However, I just can't seem to figure out this issue.
I have a Netgear DNS-323 NAS that I use for multiple purposes: backup, storage, video/audio streaming...etc. I am trying to set up quotas within the NAS to keep data usage in check. However, I cannot seem to get OSX to connect to the different NAS shares with a different user name for each one.
For example, I am using one share for my time machine backup (yes, I know it is unsupported, let's leave that out for this discussion). That share is //192.168.x.x/MacBackup. I have set up a single user that has access to that share with a quota of 400GB (so TM doesn't eat up the entire NAS). That user's name is "backup".
I have another share that I use for music/movies. That share is //192.168.x.x/Media. I want to connect to that share with a different account than the "backup" account used for the TM share. That way, I don't eat into the quota established for the backup share.
However, no matter what I do, I cannot get OSX to let me configure it this way. Which ever share I connect to first is the only one I can connect to. For example, if I connect to the backup share as the backup user, than I cannot access the media share as it gives me access denied errors (as it should, as it still thinks I am the "backup" user).
I have tried adding both of the username/password combinations into the keychain application, but I cannot seem to get it to work.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

I guess no info on this. I will try and see how I fare. if anyone is interested let me know in which case i can share findings.
One way round this might eb sharing libraries but I am not sure that is legal strictly as I suppose parents MAC in the Netherlands does not classify as a household MAC....

No prompt for authentication when trying to connect to VPN

Using OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5, I created a new VPN Cisco IPsec connection with the native VPN client.
I can manage to connect, whereas colleagues of mine (same network, same configuration, same operating system) can.
The point is that I'm never prompted for the password to connect to the VPN: the prompt window simply doesn't show.

If I'm not wrong, the window requesting the password should open after the line I highlighted (that's the behaviour we noticed on my colleagues' macbooks), but it doesn't.
Does anyone knows how I can fix that problem? Thanks for your replies.

Same issue for me, I see the "enter your user authentication" dialogue box, but there are no text boxes to enter credentials, only OK or CANCEL.

The question is, Do they have the emai address that you are using configured as a, "You can be reached by Facetime at:" in Settings > Facetime?
Of course they may be just choosing not to accept your call.

Various problems when trying to use both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 at the same time? HELP!

I am experiencing a wide range of problems with both of my iPhones. They are both a 4 and a 5. I will list the problems I am having.
Using both phones:
A few weeks ago I recieved a new phone, the iPhone 5 as my contract was renewed. I backed-up my old phone, the iPhone 4 to my computer and restored it onto my 5. But when using my 5, I discovered it has 'no service' (but will use wifi), it won't send IMs OR texts and Apple constantly keeps asking me for my Apple ID which i recently changed but still uses the old email, and won't accept any passwords.
The 5 used to send IMs and texts but they would be sent to my friends through my email address, so I googled this and went to messages>send and recieve, and the only thing i can select is my email, not my number. I am using the 4 as well, purely so I can send texts and IMs through my name, not my email. The 4 also has signal and wifi, whereas the 5 only has wifi. I am wondering if the 5 has no signal and won't send IMs & texts because I am still using another phone? Surely they both cannot work together, so I was thinking I could reset my iPhone 4, and then see if the iPhone 5 will work, once the second phone isn't used anymore. If that doesn't work, I thought I could reset my 4, back-up my 5 and then restore again. I think that will work, but I have no idea.
I have absolutely had it with trying to figure it out, I have used google but nothing seems to work. I am really hoping someone can tell me what to do with all my phone problems, because they are absolutely driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to use the 5, it is costing me an extra £60 a month to use and I feel as though that money is being wasted as I can't text, IM or call people. Should i just get rid of the 4 and see what happens? I read online that to stop iMessages coming through as your email, you should turn it off and use regular texts. BUT I DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS. I send way too many texts, and it would cost a fortune. I also can't send photo messages on texts, because they cost a bomb to send through. I want to be able to use both texts and iMessages - using my name, not my email.
To add on to that huge essay I have written, on both phones Apple CONSTANTLY asks me for my Apple ID which I recently changed. I changed the email and the password, and it is coming up with the wrong email, and whatever password I put in, it still says it is wrong. It doesn't make sense, because yesterday I purchased some music from iTunes and when asked for my Apple ID, it used the right email and accepted the correct password. ...??? yet it still keeps getting it wrong, even though it worked in iTunes. ??!?

You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

Why do I keep getting a connection error when trying to connect to SQL?

Windows Server 2008
JBOSS
Oracle Application DB
When trying to connect to SQL, I get this error message in the log.
Exception: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class library, which provides support for JDBC 4.0.); - nested throwable: (org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. I have these two files located in \\jboss\server\lc_oracle_cl\lib

I was told all I needed to do was drop these two files in the directory above and restart JBOSS. Is there something I'm missing?

Hi Jesse,
The driver you are using is for SQLServer Database. Since you are using Oracle as your database, you need an oracle driver.Please copy ojdbc6.jar from the [installDir]/lib/db/oracle/ directory and try again.
