Introscope Manager on Server 2012

We are have solution manager 7.1 SP 8, we start to Install Wily Introscope Manager 9.1.5.
we are download the required files Wily_IS_EM15* for Windows X64.
we uncar files in folder Drive\usr\sap\CCM\apmintroscope.
Windows 2012
CA Wily Introscope OSGI 9.1.5.0
CA Wily Enterprise Manager 9 SP15
Extract CA Wily Enterprise Manager
Copy eula.txt into the extracted folder.
Accept the agreements in eula.txt and ca-eula.txt
Update the installer.properties file as necessary
Copy the CA Wily Introscope OSGI zip file into the extracted folder
Run the Introscope9.1.5.0windowsAMD64SAP.exe
We didn't find any run process for introscope.
Although we are install the same version on Server 2003&2008R2 and it's completely successfully.
Why this exe file didn't work on server 2012?

Hi Said,
Sorry, but can you clarify which server are you referring to as develop ABAP server ?
Is that a Managed system ?
Hope you are performing Introscope EM installation on Solution Manager host.
LM-Service component has to be checked in Solution Manager system (part of Solution Manager Java stack).
If you want to use Introscope EM 9.1.5.0, then please ensure that the LM-Service component has appropriate patch level as per SAP Note 1565954 - Introscope 9 Release Notes
Also, have you manually created the folder apmintroscope under E drive ?
Please check the Wily guide at below link if you want to customize the path for Wily EM installation, other than the default C:\usr\sap\ccms\apmintroscope.
http://service.sap.com/instguides -> Installation & Upgrade Guides -> SAP Components -> SAP Solution Manager -> Release 7.1 -> Installation -> Wily Introscope Setup Guide 9.*
Hope this helps.

  • Getting Client Name in Remote Desktop Manager for Server 2012 R2

Remote Desktop Manager appears to have been replaced or moved in Server 2012 to Server Manager. It doesn't really matter to me where this is located, however I don't seem to have all of the features that were in Remote Desktop Manager (2008 R2). The biggest
one that I need is to be able to tell what computer each RDS user is logged in from. We use this quite often so we can remote into that users computer for troubleshooting.
Does anybody know how to obtain this information in Server 2012 R2? If it's not possible in Server Manager, can it be done with Powershell? A 3rd party application?
So far the only way I have been able to do this is if there is still a 2008 R2 server on the network. I can log into it and use Remote Desktop Manager to connect to the 2012 R2 server. Since a 2008 server can still obtain this information for a 2012 server
there must be a way to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
In addition, the PSTerminalServices PowerShell Module might help.
    https://psterminalservices.codeplex.com/releases/view/65937
You can run Get-TSSession in PowerShell.
    Thanks.

  • Configuring "Manage Out" Server 2012 DirectAccess IP-HTTPS

Hoping someone with hands on experience configuring Manage Out functionality can answer a few questions for me?
We have built a Server 2012 VM and deployed DirectAccess successfully.  Have tested with both Win7 and Win8 clients successfully.  After some initial issues with DNS were addressed with a Microsoft hotfix, it seems to be running stable.
I want to configure Manage Out capabilities, so that I can remotely help the DA clients with software installs and similar.  I've read up on as many blog entries as I can find, but still finding it a bit mystifying.
We are using IP-HTTPS connectivity.  As best I can tell, we are not using Teredo or ISATAP.  The DA server is dual-NIC and is configured behind an Edge device (NIC #1 is DMZ and receives NAT'd traffic from external IPv4 address on firewall, NIC
#2 is internal LAN).  Our internal networks are IPv4 only (no IPv6 at all); therefore DNSv4 and DHCPv4 internally).
Am hoping that somewhere there might be a step-by-step configuration guide to match our scenario.  Alternatively, if someone can recommend a Local (i.e. Melbourne, Australia) consultant who knows this stuff backwards, I'd consider paying for that.

OKay, so finally I am in a position to share some information ... it has taken me about 6 months of off-and-on (mostly "off") activity to get things working.
We engaged a third-party company to do the initial installation of Direct Access.  This got us 90% of the way to where we needed to go.
The configuration of Manage Out was eventually achieved, but we did take some further expert advice, because I didn't want to change anything without first understanding What was being changed and Why it needed to be changed.  So I had to be educated
quite a bit about IPv6, IP-HTTPS and ISATAP.
We ended up disabling all IPv6 on the clients EXCEPT for the IP-HTTPS protocol.  This was done via a GPO.
I ran into some problems with IPv6 and ISATAP initially when configuring our IT PCs to be able to "manage out" to the DA clients.  We went with a non-standard name for the ISATAP Router (we called ours ISATAP-DirectAccess) and pointed this in DNS to
the internal IPv4 address of the DA server.  This was enforced via a GPO.  However our PCs did not get IPv6 addresses on their ISATAP adapters.  This was eventually resolved by changing some settings on the ISATAP adapter for the Internal NIC
on the DA server.  The settings were:  Forwarding=Enabled and also Advertising=Enabled
After that the IT PCs were getting ISATAP addresses fine, but some of the DA Clients were not registering themselves with an IPv6 address in our Internal DNS.  This was eventually resolved when we discovered that some of the DA Clients' DNS records
had 'bad' security permissions on them.  Once we fixed those permissions we found the DA Clients would register an IPv6 address when operating in Direct Access mode (and would remove their old IPv4 address) and would register an IPv6 address when connected
internally (and would remove their unwanted IPv6 address).
There was also a hitch with getting Windows Remote Assistance working with the DA clients.  This required a Hotfix from Microsoft to get it working properly.
Setting the Firewall rules for the DA clients with Edge Traversal enabled was the easiest part of the process frankly.  The most difficult part was troubleshooting the problems with DNS registration and the problems with getting selected internal PCs
to get a valid ISATAP adapter address from the DA server.

  • Server 2012 R2 Group policy management with older Domain servers

    Hi Guys,
I need your expert assistance with a issue I'm facing.
We have a client that has 3 domain controllers. The Primary DC is running Server 2003 R2, another one is running Server 2008, and the last DC is running Server 2008 R2. The forest functional level is Server 2000 & the domain functional level is Server
    2003.
Currently Group policy is processing using a central store across the 3 domain controllers.
We have installed a new Server 2012 R2 Terminal server and need to apply group policies to the Server to lock it down.
We have a separate Server 2012 R2 server (say SERVER1) that is also joined to the domain that I have added the group policy management feature to so it can remotely manage group policy.
It seems to be pulling the all the group policy details from the central store so I can't see any of the server 2012 related settings on
    SERVER1.
Are we going about this the correct way? how would we best manage the Server 2012 policies? I was thinking either somehow making the specific TS group policy only load in a local policy or templates somehow..

If you are using a central policy store, this is the expected (intended) behaviour.
You willl need to update the central store with the latest versions of the adm(x/l) files.

  • Need More Info on Server 2012 R2 Essentials

I'm currently running Server 2008 R2 Foundation for my wife's (1 person) online business, and have been looking at 2012 R2 Foundation vs Essentials.  The latter sounds like a better fit, since in my absence, my wife has limited IT knowledge/experience, but
    I need more information:
    1) Can Essentials be run in a WORKGROUP instead of a domain?  I currently have my server that way, and it serves our needs very well.
    2) I read in some of the forums that while essentials allows 25 users, only two can be logged in concurrently.  Is that true, or am I missing something?
    3) Server 2012 R2 Foundation DOES NOT require CALs for local LAN users, is this also true with 2012 R2 Essentials?  Also, how much are the CALS for RDP users?
    Capt. Dinosaur

Hi again, Grey, and thank you for your response.  I do appreciate your detail, and I'll answer them each in turn.
"1) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn281793.aspxMust be the domain controller at the root of the forest and
domain, and must hold all the FSMO roles."
Well I guess if it must it must, although I don't understand why the (first) response above states emphatically that a workgroup can be used.  I prefer a workgroup because I understand it much better than a domain setup, and I don't understand Active
Directory etc.  When I bought my server in 2011 I hired someone to set up the os for me.  I also purchased Mark Minasi's book on 2008 R2, but so much of it was over my head.  Fifty five years in the computer business, and today I feel as though
I've never seen one before (hence the name Capt. Dinosaur).  I am, however, signed up for a course in Managing Windows Server 2012 which starts in January.  I hope that helps get through my aging grey matter.  All these initials and acronyms
are total confusion to me, along with my case of chronic CRS (Can't Remember Squat).
"2) If you say you have 3 different users logged into Foundation with RDP I
am not going to argue.  I know the license only allows for 2
    administrative connections. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770759.aspx
The default connection (RDP-Tcp) only allows a maximum of two simultaneous
    remote connections."
I currently have two licenses for 2008 R2 Foundation, and Ithe users who log in to those remotely are
NOT administrator accounts.   I don't know if that makes a difference, but I've had both users logged in from Florida and I was logged in (as an administrator) from a local workstation.  I had to test that early on to make sure
that my two users could log in concurrently, and that I could be logged in to manage the system.
"As a rule we do not suggest you use your server as a workstation. ..."
Maybe I misled you with something I said, but I/we do not use the server as a workstation.  Sometimes, though infrequently, I have to log in to the server directly (as Administrator) to do or fix something, but do not stay on it for
normal work.  When we're home my (Dell Precision Mobile) Workstation is connected to my LAN.  I also do software development on that workstation.  I have a development environment on an external eSATA drive attached to my workstation,
and both a beta and a live environment on the server; I use my workstation to operate all three.
"... And I really have no clue what would happen if you
restored your dell box to something else.  It may fail activation.
Guess you need to try that sometime. ..."
I have tried it, albeit to another - but completely different Dell box, which is normally the only brand I use;  that's a holdover from my mainframe/minicomputer days when having a mixed shop was seriously avoided - with a clean bare HDD, and it
worked.  When the restoration was executed, True Image asked only that you provide the drivers for the new computer, and they do the rest.
" ... The advantage to the Essentials client backup is it will backup a whole lot of PC's to the server and use data dedupe to keep the backup database small.  So it would backup your wife's PC at
work and the 3 you have on the road."
I should explain that my wife's office is in our basement at home, in a separate room from my computer room.  My wife has a second business making gourmet wine infused jams, and we built a FDA certified canning kitchen
in the basement, and her workstation is there so that she can work at both businesses.  Her workstation, my server and my workstation are backed up weekly to hard drives in a docking station, and stored in a fire resistant safe.  The
computers we have on the road are my mobile workstation and her laptop.  When my daughter comes along, she also brings her laptop.  Since no company information is stored on any of the workstations, only the server data are mission critical.
"But in any case if what
you have is doing what you want.  You don't seem to want what essentials
offers, Active Directory, Remote Access, or Client backup, so why change?"<o:p></o:p>
I guess I'm something like the man who bought a tuxedo and so now he has to start looking for formal dances to attend.  I should explain that we live in a very rural area - our town has a population of 1,000, 60% of the country is National
Forest, and my home is literally in in it, bordered by it on two sides - and have only a very small technical college here.  I need to learn all about the server OS and how to administer it so that I don't
have to hire someone when something needs to be done, and 2012 R2 is the only course available within 100 miles - up until this year they were only offering 2003, and even that was at a different campus 60 miles away (and over a 2,000' mountain).
Since the course I'll be taking is for '12,  I'm simply looking to upgrade so that what I have is what the course covers.  All my other computers are running Windows 7 (Pro and/or Ultimate)
"More on #1 Active Directory gives you group policy and more  control over file permissions than workgroup.  Say you had a folder shared and it had your bank.xls  You could give your wife permission to see it but not your daughter.
Group Policy is probably not a big deal for one client PC.  The advantage is you can make one setting and it can be applied to hundreds of PC's"
Actually I have remote access now in '08 R2 Foundation, and I'm not sure what Active Directory will buy me, but that could, of course, change when I get into the course.  Not having Group Policies has been a small problem,
on one or two rare occasions, so that could be a game changer for me, but with what I have now, I've been able to set up my political campaign system such that
no one from one campaign can see or access any data for any other campaign.  Also I was able to set up the user accounts so that a remote user logging in
can not see nor execute anything except the campaign system.  Any attempt to do otherwise automatically logs them out.
In summation, you may just have convinced me that using a domain instead of a workgroup, with all it advantages might just be the way for me to go, since hopefully I'll learn all about that when I take that course.  The limitation of only two concurrent
RDS users, however, is still worrying me, and I'm not sure that I'm accurately communicating.  If the
two concurrent RDS user limitation ONLY refers to
Administrator accounts then there's no problem, because any user accounts other than those for my wife and myself,
would not be Administrator accounts.  I can't remember whether 2008 R2 foundation supports
"Power User" accounts, but if so, that would be the highest level any other users would have, and possibly not even that high.
    Capt. Dinosaur

  • Remote Desktop Connection Manager can only open 6 sessions at a time on Server 2012

I am only able to open, and view thumbnails, for a maximum of 6 RDP sessions on my Server 2012 box at a time in Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCM). If I add more sessions I just get a variety of connection errors for the additional sessions. If I activate
a 7th session one of the existing 6 sessions goes off-line with a connection error message. Sometimes the error says 3334, sometimes the error says 0x8345000E, and sometimes it just says there is a connection error.
I have checked Group Policy on the server to ensure I don't have any settings restricting the number of RDP sessions.
In fact, I will often have 30 or 40 RDP simultaneous sessions opened, I am just not able to view them all in RDCM. I have seen reviews of RDCM with screenshots showing dozens of thumbnails so it seems to be something that's possible to do.
Are there any settings I should make on the server to allow RDCM to connect to more than 6 simultaneous RDP sessions?
Just to be clear, all these RDP sessions are running on the same server. Also, I am just using the trial license for Server 2012 and Remote Desktop Services right now. I don't think that should have an impact, but I wanted to be thorough.

    Thanks Jakub for "corflags" info.
Unfortunatelly it doesn't work because running mRemoteNG.exe process in 64bit can't load MSTSC ActiveX component (referenced assemblies) because original files were assembled from 32bit dll [mstscax.dll]?
Error message when making RDP connection:
Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.MSTSCLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
I was able to create new AxInterop.MSTSCLib.dll and Interop.MSTSCLib.dll assemblies from 64bit dll version and now it works with "AnyCPU":-)
    http://www.filedropper.com/axinteropmstsclib-mremoteng
Using AxImp.exe and TlbImp.exe didn't worked for me because it creates assemblies in wrong namespace "MSTSCLib" instead of "Interop.MSTSCLib" (AxImp.exe) and TlbImp.exe for changing namespace generated many "marshaled errors"
    so final .dll wasn't working.
Adding MSTSCAX.dll reference in Visual Studio directly created correct and functional assemblies. Who don't know how to create 64bit compatible assemblies or don't have Visual Studio, feel free to check linked file.
    Hope it helps
P.S. Sorry for possible technical misinterpretation, I am not programmer so creating new assemblies was trial-error process...

Tried both of your suggestions, however neither strategy worked.
    Strategy 1
Tried installing via powershell - "install-windowsfeature -name fs-resource-manager -includemanagementtools"
Feature un-installed itself during the restart.
Attempted to use the command "DISM /online /remove-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services".  However
this did work because one the Service was'nt installed or two because there was no command option for "/remove-feature"

    Hi all,
Long time ago, I manually created a Database (APGriMMRP) and 3 Tables (dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates, dbo.Table_2_Soil, and dbo.Table_3_Water) in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012). The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates has the following columns: file_id,
Pt_ID, X, Y, Z, sample_id, Boring. The dbo.Table_2_Soil has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Arsenic, Chromium, Lead. The dbo.Table_3_Water has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Benzene, Ethylbenzene,
Pyrene. The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates is a Parent Table. The dbo.Table_2_Soil and the dbo.Table_3_Water are 2 Child Tables. The sample_id is key link for the relationship between the Parent Table and the Child Tables.
Problem #1) How can I print out or export these 3 dbo Tables?

Please kindly help, answer my questions, and advise me how to resolve these 4 problems.
    Thanks in advance,

In the future, I would recommend you to post your questions one by one, and to the appropriate forum. Of your questions it is really only #3 that fits into this forum. (And that is the one I will not answer, because I have worked very little with XSD.)
    1) Not sure what you mean with "print" or "export", but when you right-click a database, you can select Tasks from the context menu and in this submenu you find "Export data".
    2) I don't know why you get that error, but any particular reason you want to run PowerShell?
    4) If you have tables, you query them with SQL, not XQuery. XQuery is when you query XML documents, but left and right joins are SQL things. There are no joins in XQuery.
As for left/right join, notice that these two are equivalent:
    SELECT ...
    FROM   a LEFT JOIN b ON a.col = b.col
    SELECT ...
    FROM   b RIGHT JOIN a ON a.col = b.col
But please never use RIGHT JOIN - it gives me a headache!
There is nothing that says that you should use any of the other. In fact, if you are returning rows from parent and child, I would expect an inner join, unless you want to cater for parents without children.
Here is an example where you can study the different join types and how they behave:
CREATE TABLE apple (a int         NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
                        b varchar(23) NOT NULL)
    INSERT apple(a, b)
       VALUES(1, 'Granny Smith'),
             (2, 'Gloster'),
             (4, 'Ingrid-Marie'),
             (5, 'Milenga')
CREATE TABLE orange(c int        NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
                        d varchar(23) NOT NULL)
    INSERT orange(c, d)
       VALUES(1, 'Agent'),
             (3, 'Netherlands'),
             (4, 'Revolution')
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    CROSS  JOIN orange
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
    INNER  JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
LEFT   OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
RIGHT  OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    SELECT a, b, c, d
    FROM   apple
FULL OUTER JOIN orange ON apple.a = orange.c
    go
    DROP TABLE apple, orange

  • Server 2012: Remote desktop licence manager not issuing licences

    Hi,
I am battling with an problem which i cannot seem to resolve and no other forums actually come to a conclusion on how to resolve this problem!
I have a windows server 2012 server which is NOT part of a domain.
I have installed Remote Desktop Services and also installed the Remote Desktop License manager and i just cannot get the license manager to issue cals when users connect remotely via RDP
I have installed an extra two CAL's and tried using them as both a "Per User" and also "Per Device" but still does not work.
I have now run out of my grace period and cannot connect to the server at all
I have also tried changing some gpo's with no luck,
Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Licensing
"Use the specified RD license servers" = myservername
"Set the Remote Desktop licensing mode" = Per User
    How can i fix this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Have you seen that you have activated RDS License server before installing CAL?
Please check that the License Server should be part of ‘Terminal Server License’ group in Active Directory Domain Services. You can also configure RD License server manually by powershell commmand. Please check below article for information.

In addition, please install below Hotfix and verify the result.
