Ios 7 failed to install now the phone is in recovery mode

I was downloading ios7 to my iphone 4s 16gb via itunes. Then during the installation it said "installation failed due to an unknown cause". And then when I started my phone it show and showed this image: http://puu.sh/4zm2S.jp . And when I then connected the iphone to itunes it said "itunes has dicovered an iphone i recovery mode. You have to reset this iphone before you can use it with iTunes".
What should I do? I don't want to reset the phone and loose everything on it.

They did not release a "broken version". Hundreds of millions of devices have been updated to iOS 7. If you think that none of them are going to run into a problem during the update, you're daft.
If you would have bothered glancing at the documentation, or maybe taking a brief look at the Internet over the last few years, you would have discovered the iCloud backup feature.

Oh my god, it finally worked ! I restored on an old PC and it worked !
    Thanks anyway for your help.
But allow me to extend to you a simple reflexion about the jailbreak (even if my iPhone wasn't... except if my little cousin jailbreaked without me noticing the advantages or disadvantages) : Would you refuse an alcoholic trying to go to rehab ? Would you really let someone trying to restore a cellular phone die without it, because he went on the bad side a couple of years ?
Not a great analogy, but this is a user-to-user forum, and Apple will not allow discussion of jailbreaking; if someone tried to help with jailbreaking the message would be deleted. However, if you have a jailbroken phone Apple will generally not block a discussion of how to unjailbreak it. The only problem is that not all jailbroken phones can be restored successfully; it depends on the method of jailbreaking (which I can't discuss without THIS message being deleted).

i just tried updating my iphone 4 and now my phone is in recovery mode and i dont want to loose anything on my fone someone help please!!!!!

If its stuck in recovery mode then you have to restore it. Hopefully you had a recent backup on Icloud or on your computer that you can apply after restoring it. If so then you shouldn't loose your data.
Just connect it to Itunes and restore it. After it will promt you when your done to restore from backup or as new. If its on icloud unplug the phone and go through the intro screen till you get the same prompt. Sign into icloud and restore backup.

While downloading iOs7 on my iPhone 4 stopped with a screen indicating it needed to connect with iTunes.  I can turn the phone off and on, but the screen with the iTunes and plug does not change.  I tried connecting to my computer with iTunes open and the computer message indicated that the phone was in recovery mode.  Any suggestions?

Yes. Plug it into your computer and restore it. Once it's in recovery mode, that's your only option.

  • I have tried to sync my iphone 4.  Usually no problem but today it says the phone is in recovery mode and the phone seems to be frozen

I don't usually have a problem syncing my ipone4 but today I am getting a message on my Mac saying my phone is in recovery mode.  My iphone is frozen with an illustration of the connector and itunes.

Legitimate unlocking does not require the original carrier's SIM after restoring the phone. So maybe something went wrong, for which you should contact Orange. Or maybe you didn't do the unlocking through Orange.

  • Tried downloading new ios, now my phone is in recovery mode, and iTunes doesn't recognize my phone.

I have an iPhone 5. I was on ios 6.0.1. and tried to update to the new software via my computer (a PC). I received an error mid-download and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. However, my iTunes does not even recognize my phone or that it's in recovery mode. I've downloaded the most recent version of iTunes as well.

Place the device in DFU mode (google it) then restore.

  • HT201263 updated to newest version, now my phone is in recovery mode

hi....tried to update last version on me iphone 5s but it stopped and its on recovery mode now.....tried to reset it but it gives me an error all the time...pls help

    Hey goofygirl2424,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues after updating your iPhone to iOS 7.0.6. If you have not already done so, you may want to restart or reset the device:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you'll want to restore your device with iTunes in recovery-mode:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Crash during update to 6.1.2 - iTunes won't connect to the phone, stuck in recovery mode.

Latest update for iPhone 5 has put it into restore mode - iTunes doesn't acknowledge its existence. Anything I can do just to bring it back to life?

Are you running the very latest version of iTunes? Mine was quite old, and I think that may have been the problem. I think this because I managed to get my phone working again by borrowing my sister's macbook and using her iTunes (up-to-date) to restore my phone. Then I restored my phone to an iCloud backup. Worked for me, might work for you too.

  • HT4061 i just tried to update my ios, and now the phone wants me to connect to itunes...i dont have a PC anymore. help

i just tried to update ios, and now my phone wants me to connect to itunes. I dont have a PC anymore. what can I do?

No, I'm sorry.  If you're seeing that Connect to iTunes screen that means the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
If you can't borrow a friend's computer, you can go to the Apple Store and they will restore it for you.

  • IOS Application "Failed to Install" -- Air 3.0

I'm having the hardest time getting iOS applications to install on my iPhone.  Every time I build my application it trys to install it on the device before coming back to say 'failed to install' on the phone.
I tried pulling out all the code related issues and started a brand new Hello World project with one label in it.  I managed to get that to install once, but then it failed after that every single time.
NOTE: I'm running this on a windows machine, as I don't have funding to purchase a mac box
    Here's the steps I took:
    1. Got a cert request from OpenSSL
    2. Uploaded the request to the provisioning portal
    3. Downloaded the actual cert
    4. Used OpenSSL to convert the cert to a .PEM
    5. Used OpenSSL to convert the .PEM to a .P12
    6. Added my device UDID to the provisioning portal
    7. Added my application id to the provisioning portal
    8. Got a provisioning file for that setup
    9. Built my application using the provisioning file and cert
    10. Copied the provisioning file to iTunes
    11. Copied the application to iTunes
    12. Synced the phone, it tries to install, and then the phone states 'HelloWorld failed to install' and removes the icon from the desktop
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here.  I'm going to try using my coworkers mac to build a cert on his machine instead and utilize that but I doubt that will resolve the issue.
I haven't touched anything in the application descriptor at all, except for setting the applicationId to my application profile on the provisioning portal (as it won't build without that)

    Hey Neo,
I believe I've been having the same problem as this, I even created my own thread not having found this one.
I very much did have my resources folder directly under source but have now moved it to be on the same level as source
    i.e.
    Project
    - src
    - resources
    instead of
    Protect
    - src
       - resources
But it's still have the Failed to Install problem. Is my project structure still incorrect with this or do I have to start another project and do it all again? It almost seems as doing it once corrupts the entire project.
    Thanks
    Aaron

  • HT4623 I try to update and my phone when to recovery mode, what to do now since it stock with that screen?

I'm stock to the recovery mode because I try to update to IOS 7 and a error code 1667 showed during my update. So, I dont know what to do without losing all my data on the phone

If the phone is in recovery mode, the data is already lost. See this support document for assistance with restore error codes http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 although I do not see one for error 1667.

  • HT201263 i can't get my phone out of recovery mode or even restore it using iTunes

i have iPhone 3G IOS 4.1....my phone is in recovery mode, and i can't even restore it through iTunes.whenever i try restoring it using iTunes i get error 1015,so i downloaded a firmware for it,buy yet i get the same error 1015...if anyone can help me,please do! it's been a week now and i can't get my phone back! :''(
P.S when i tried upgrading my phone before,i got an error 11 ....how can i fix that??

Error 1015 means that your iPhone is jailbroken or hacked. There is no solution that you can get in an Apple hosted forum.
